I signed up for the premium package and every time I've brought it in, there's been no payment out of pocket. What I signed up for is great and I would recommend it. It's been worthwhile, which is kind of bittersweet. You don't want anything wrong with your car, but you also don't want to have to worry when something does go wrong.

I had a tire issue that I took in my vehicle for and this dealership won't accept it because they said that Zurich is not paying out the bill. But at the dealership that I bought the vehicle from, they're awesome.
Zurich was recommended to me by multiple vehicle owners who had used Zurich in the past at the dealership. And it was not as high a price as I thought it would be. So far, I've had a great experience. Two weeks ago, I had one tire punctured. The next week, the other one in the rear got punctured as well. They were both repairable by just patching, so the dealership took care of that for me and called it in on my behalf without even asking. I did not have to make any form of payment because they told me it was already paid for by Zurich or they were going to call it in and charge at a later date to Zurich instead of me.
The car had come with this problem. I took it to Mini, as the warranty had expired that month. They said it needed a motor mount, but they weren't going t replace it. I wasn't informed about the warranty and Hilton Head Honda said they weren't to fix it. So I finally saw that the warranty was in effect and you were going to fix it, less $100. I couldn't get it fixed at HH Honda, so I hope my $100 payment won't be every time I have an issue.
The Zurich reps were good. I had a couple of problems with the payment and the gentleman that I talked to got things straightened out and sent a check out right away. They took care of it all.

Called to have my wipers fixed that stopped working. Turns out water had seeped in the wiper motor. Zurich refused to repair it on the extended because water had seeped into the wiper motor that gets wet every time it rains. They are fully aware of this and take advantage of customers because of water in a WIPER MOTOR. They were condescending and said it would not do any good to talk to someone higher up. Be aware. You can email them your vehicle info and cancel the extended warranty and receive a pro rated refund which I will do.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We have a high standard for the service we provide, and your experience should be no exception. We've contacted your repair facility and would like the opportunity to gather more information about the failure to your wiper motor. We apologize for the inconvenience, but if you are willing to bring the vehicle back to Crown Dodge and have them call us, we'd be happy to take another look at the details of this needed repair. Purchasing the warranty and Zurich's rep were both really good. I bought the truck new from Nissan and they just added the payments to my bill. Everything is good.

While this vehicle has been quite reliable, with the repairs that did need to be done, this warranty has more than paid for itself! I have had zero issues with payment of repairs, I will definitely look into another Zurich warranty when I purchase my next vehicle.

I took my vehicle in to have the transmission looked at. I needed a full replacement. Instead of paying the $100 deductible I was charged over $500 fee for a “full tear down” of the transmission. Worse, when I attempted to obtain a diagnoses as to the causality of the transmission failure the repair site had no information. Essentially Zurich forced me to pay out of pocket for something they wanted that gave me no information or benefit. I am extremely dissatisfied and very disappointed in the service that I pay for to be protected against unwanted useless fees.
William -I see that Zurich paid nearly $5000 in benefits to repair your truck's transmission. This included $261 for diagnosis and $290 for teardown of the transmission. We also paid the shop an additional $100 handling fee for accepting our supplied remanufactured transmission. We are sorry to hear that the repair shop charged you additional fees on top of this but unfortunately, we have no control over what a repair shop charges. To discuss further, please call us at 800-643-9059.
We just had the oil change done through Zurich, and it was prepaid. We don’t have to worry about paying for the oil change and stuff like that. That’s all prepaid now. The dealer took care of all the paperwork. We didn’t have to do anything. My wife, daughter and I have Zurich on all our vehicles. They treated us very well.

The finance officer suggested that I might wanna purchase Zurich for additional things that may go wrong. It so happened that I got it last year and things did go wrong, and it came in handy. When summer came, the air conditioning wasn’t working as well as it should. I opened the hood and I saw something was rattling. A fan was loose. I took the vehicle to the dealer and the whole mounting system for the air condition was pretty well damaged. The dealer took care of the whole thing. I was given an invoice and initially, it would've been almost $700. But everything was covered and didn't cost me anything out of pocket, even though I’m paying for the plan itself. I also had a problem with my heated seat and I took it back to them.

I suspect they did not replace the parts listed in my service ticket. The problem came back 1 week after repair. Parts did not look new and I asked the dealership about it. No one has contacted me about me questioning warranty fraud. I will no longer waste my time with that dealership. Whether or not you feel like this dealerships is honest, you’re the one paying them the approved amount.
Greg,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Zurich takes allegations of service contract fraud very seriously and would like to discuss the details of this incident. With your permission, we'd like to reach out to you at the phone number we have on file. Please let us know what the best time of day would be to do that.

I bought an SUV and I didn't know it came with a maintenance plan. The representative said it was GAP insurance and service. He told me it comes with a 100,000-mile warranty with oil change and a whole bunch of stuff. Recently I got my vehicle fixed at Lakeland Auto mall Hyundai. They emailed me and told me it was required to take in for service and I did that. They checked the air in the tires and the oil level. Then they washed and vacuum it and gave it back to me. The experience was good. I'm gonna call Zurich and see what it has to offer. If it's something that I'm paying for, I wanna get my best service out of it.

Zurich took care of all the payments for the last service I had, which was an oil change. The guys did a great job. It was timely and in and out. I love the place.

I purchased a vehicle that came with a 6 month Comprehensive Warranty through Zurich on December 27 2019. I paid cash and did not finance, and I spent close to $11,000. A noise started to occur soon after purchase, and turned out to be the transmission. Zurich inspected the vehicle, and contacted me to ask about it - which I don’t know why they did. I thought they were only suppose to speak to the dealership? After speaking to me, they found a loop hole so they would not have to cover this repair that will now cost me close to $4000 because they claim the issue was “pre-existing” since I told them I believe I heard the noise briefly on the way home from purchasing it.
This vehicle was inspected and driven numerous times before it was purchased and no noise was ever heard, and the car ran beautifully. I even brought the vehicle to the auto shop I use personally before I purchased it and they could not find anything wrong with it. So where’s the pre-existing issue? Also, how do you diagnose something that doesn’t have anything wrong? This has been a terrible experience and the person I spoke to at Zurich told me this issue takes thousands and thousands of miles to occur, so it’s on the dealership I purchased it from. He also said he could never make someone like me understand how these repairs work. So he basically called me stupid.
I spoke to the dealership who then contacted Zurich, and they told the dealership if I had not told them the issue started the day I purchased it, they would be covering it. Would 24 hours really have made the difference if the issue takes thousands and thousands of miles to occur???? I don’t even know for sure if I heard it that day, I thought I heard a noise. Then I started hearing it here and there, then it became more consistent. I know the issue started after I purchased it and I know it is not on me or the dealership and this should be covered by the warranty company.
I will never purchase any vehicle that has anything to do with Zurich ever again. They’ve wronged me terribly. If I wanted to spend $15,000 total for a vehicle, I would have. I didn’t because that was not my budget. No one should have to pay $4000 for a transmission less than a month after paying $11,000 for a vehicle ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE WARRANTY. I’ve only had the vehicle in my possession for 19 days, the rest of the time it’s been in the shop. I don’t know how Zurich can claim it was preexisting issue when myself along with the dealership and the the shop I use personally could not find any issues. I should have never answered the phone and spoken to them. Shame on Zurich for being so conniving.
The first time I went to Honda, the car was warrantied through them. But then the second time I went there, the warranty was over so I had to get extended warranty from Zurich. Three weeks ago, I had to have a starter put on because the starter had gone out. When I went to Honda, they told me my warranty was over and I was mad about that. But I talked to the guy and I said, “What am I paying for? Am I paying for an extended warranty?” And then he looked it up, and he was like, “Oh yeah.” That’s when the extended warranty kicked in and they had to fix the car. Honda took care of me, but Zurich paid for it when they found out that the car was under warranty and it was nothing I did to it. I got a rental car for four hours, and it was great.
My vehicle service experience was awful because they, at first, told me I didn’t have any warranty. And then I had to wait for somebody to get there. And then I had waited for a while, then I left, and I just drove around the block, took a quick trip around the corner. The next thing I know, I had a complete flat tire. It was a bad experience. Thank God I was right next to the Kia place, so my husband took it around and told them that they needed to fix the tire because they actually put my tires inside out. The outside of the tire says, “Inside.” And they said it only really matters during weather. But my tires were on wrong, my AC wasn’t working, and my check engine light came on a couple of days ago. It randomly went off.
I just got the car but my AC wasn’t working. I didn’t have to use it for the while that I had it this couple of weeks. So, I had to take it in, and I had to pay $200. I was given a printout, and it said it was gonna be like 680 and that I was only gonna have to pay 200 for the deductible. But when I got the receipt, it was only gonna be like 5-something, and I’m paying 2-something of that, and Zurich was paying the rest. I was just confused why I had to pay anything seeing how I only had the car for a short time.

I had a flat tire and the manufacturer, Pirelli, claims and says on their website that the tire cannot be repaired. I had a tire repaired at a local shop to get me back on the road, then after that was done, I called Pirelli USA and they said, “The tire can’t be fixed. It’s not safe.” I called Zurich to get my claim moving so I could have the dealer order me a tire. Zurich said, “Is there air in the tire?” I said, “Yes.” They said, “Well, then it’s fine.” And I said, “No. It wasn’t supposed to be repaired in the first place, but we didn’t know that at the time.” Zurich's rep took a bunch of notes and put it on my account. I called the dealer and the dealer said, “We’re just gonna order you a tire and we’ll deal with Zurich at the time.” And so, when we get the tire in, I called Zurich, and there was nothing, just, “Okay. Fix it. Here’s the credit card. Pay for the tire.” So, it was up and down experience, like a yo-yo.
The tire eventually got done. It was just a little bit frustrating when I was told that if it’s holding air, it’s fine. Because it was not fine. I’ve had a lot of bad luck but we got it done. Eventually, Pirelli replaced the tire but not without an argument. It’s a brand-new Pirelli tire. It’s full of noise-canceling foam, which I didn’t even know was on the car. The whole process took two weeks because the tires are not easy to find and not easy to get, although that’s not Zurich’s problem. This is my second flat tire in the six months I’ve had the car. The first one was a total tire failure and that was seamless, where the tire took a week. I called Zurich and they gave the dealer the credit card over the phone, and I was on my way. My experience with Zurich at first was real complicated and then it got uncomplicated because I got the dealer involved. At the end, Zurich met my expectations.
We purchased a new vehicle at Don Beyer Volvo Dulles in June, 2016. The sales person pitched Zurich insurance. As I recall, the cost was not inexpensive - about $1,200. Don Beyer likely received a nice commission for selling this worthless "peace of mind". About 6 months after the purchase of the car, we experienced a flat tire on I-95 - mind you these are $300 Continental tires that had very very low mileage on them. Zurich had no choice but to cover that tire. Fast Forward 2.5 years and we had another flat on a tire with about 9,000 miles on it - $300 Continental tire. My husband believes the tire is either defective or he hit something in the roadway. Of course, he was towed to Don Beyer and Zurich refused to cover the tire.
Zurich sent an"independent" investigator to inspect the tire which simply confirmed Zurich's position that the damage was caused by a curb hit, an exclusion. So Don Beyer wins this one because they got to charge us $400 to replace and do an alignment. Shame on Don Beyer for taking advantage of its customers by selling worthless insurance. I want to cancel this insurance and obtain a refund of the remaining balance. Does anyone know if Zurich is legally required to allow me to do this? Please save yourself this aggravation and avoid being robbed by Zurich.
I paid almost 700 dollars for their gap insurance and when my car ended up to be a total loss my insurance company who was great paid it off in full and of course Zurich small portion of it. They used any loophole they could find to get out of paying. What a bunch of crooks! Go through Progressive! Way better customer service and don't be you!
We purchased a 120 month/100k mile warranty from Zurich in May 2014 from the Chevy dealership when we bought our 2015 Chevy Suburban. We have had several issues with the Suburban and each time Chevy has taken care of it under their warranty. We have had a few items like leaky roof, broken video player, unsealed headlight - and NONE were covered under the "bumper to bumper" plan we purchased for nearly $4,500 from Zurich. Make sure you read all the fine print, but we would have been better off paying for items as they came up vs. the warranty. Also, when we brought it to the dealership to get fixed it took about 1 week for an adjuster from Zurich to review and reject our claim. Requiring sometimes 3 trips to the dealership for repair.
My wife and I purchased a Zurich powertrain warranty when we bought her 2013 Ford Fusion. After about six months the transmission failed in our car. We brought it into our local Ford dealer as recommended by Zurich. The dealer removed the transmission and after repeated calls to Zurich, an inspector came to confirm the transmission was bad. It took four days during which we had to pay for our own loaner car as Zurich only pays AFTER the inspection has been completed. Zurich then gave us the choice of using a Ford transmission for an extra $1500 or use one they found. After the transmission was installed Zurich refused to pay for a portion of the labor as they said they only pay for x amount of hours for a transmission replacement. They also refused to pay for part of the inspection fee. They refused to pay for a bypass valve that their transmission manual absolutely requires.
The end result was that we paid $432 out of pocket for a transmission that we had a "warranty" on. I guess when Zurich says powertrain warranty, they mean powertrain warranty* with a lot of fine print and slimy ways to get out of paying for whatever goes wrong. The customer service representatives I talked to on several calls sounded like they were reading legal disclaimers from a script and were not helpful at all. I would recommend thinking twice about working with this company.
