They were knowledgeable, polite, friendly and fair. They answered all our questions thoroughly and we left feeling we were safe and in very good hands, feeling like it was well worth the money we spent. We had a very minor accident where the other party was at fault, and it was handled quickly, fairly and efficiently. We even had to call back with more questions, and we were given a lot of time and attention. We had options concerning the cap, and we were helped to make up our mind given our specific needs. They did not try to get more money out of us than what was necessary. We were offered many options, from high amounts to low, and we decided on somewhere in the middle after talking it over. They really know their subject and explain it well.

Their customer service is awesome and convenient and anytime I need to adjust or call for an adjustment they are quick and easy to help. I've never had to use the claims processing unit, but I've had others use them. They are horrible to deal with and take forever to handle things. There are many options that I had to choose from. I could pick and adjust my rate to what I could afford and the perfect coverage that I wanted for my motorcycle. Very easy to look into.

Every time I had to call to talk with an agent they were very helpful. They met my needs and took care of all the problems I was having. I like dealing with them. When I had to put a claim in they took care of it between 2 to 4 days. I was very satisfied with their customer service. They helped me out with what I was going through and the problem was solved. My policy has been very helpful to me. They cover just about everything. I am very satisfied with my policy. I would never find anyone else. I have collision, theft, hit and run. Also have a very low deductible. Would not go to anyone else for better coverage. I am very happy with my policy. I would never change my policy.

Very friendly. Went out the extra mile to ensure I got everything I needed. My expectations were far exceeded and my confidence that I chose the right company were all due to the excellent service I received. I did not have any claims but I am confident if I did that it would of been handled with the same professionalism that I received when I registered for insurance. Policy I have provides me the affordability I seek in a policy. I feel that my policy includes all the bells and whistles that I feel I got a great value. My policy covers all the liability and collision that I need. I got the coverage at a very affordable price and feel secure with my selection.

The people are so nice and the insurance is affordable. I recommend it to anybody. I tried other insurances but they were not very helpful and they were expensive. My claims processing was great. It is very cheap and they are very nice people. I love Progressive. It fits my budget. I recommend it to all my family, friends, strangers. My policy options are going great. They are inexpensive. I can afford them. Not like the other insurances. They cost way too much and I will stay with Progressive as long as I can. The coverage options are great. If I get into an accident, I know I am covered with no problems. The other insurances did not cover me as much as Progressive.

I called to let Progressive know I sold my motorcycle on a particular day. I spoke to a young, not very knowledgeable girl by the name of Jessica. She told me I had to send proof via email to show date of sale and then she would refund my money back to the ACH account I paid for it with last year. I told her that I closed that account. She said it doesn't matter, their policy is to still try and send it back to the bank I paid on. That's more than crazy, if I tell them I closed that account with that bank.

She said that's their policy and that's just the way it's going to be. I asked to speak to her manager about 10 times without success. I then listened to her rudely ramble about that it's Progressive's policy to just send the money to the bank account regardless if that account is open or not. I then finally, yes, finally got to speak to her supervisor Bethany. She said they will send it back to the closed account and that's just the way it is there at Progressive. I have the phone conversation recorded and am turning it over to the insurance commissioner of Florida. I did tell her I was recording the conversation just like they said I'm being recorded.

They are somewhat slow on answering your questions. But once they do, the answers are helpful. However, I do not like that I don't have an agent or representative assigned to me. Sometimes, I feel like just a number. They are always friendly and helpful when I call to make a claim. Other companies I have worked with in the past have been rude when making a claim. I wish they had more policy options suitable for my needs. I feel as though I am paying for coverage and options that I do not need. It seems like a waste of money at times. Although I believe I am paying for more coverage than I need, I have to agree that they have covered everything that I have ever had to put in a claim for.

It was a new bike and had two other vehicles insured with Progressive. I was fortunate in that I never had to file a claim. However they were happy to increase the value of my hog after I was finished customizing it. Progressive had a few policy options and the costs between policy options were not that great. Plus most of my upgrade were Screaming Eagle and Progressive ensured that if in an accident only Harley and Harley Screaming Eagle components would be used. Progressive wrote a policy that insure my Fat Boy was cover from "tires to tank" and front to back. I was so happy that I insured the next bike added to my Fat Boy, a deluxe.

I have renter's insurance through them currently, and it is like I have peace of mind on my home, but for little cost. I decided to get it last year after I purchased my new car and signing up it gave me the option to add it to my policy. Very affordable and I would have been silly not to! I would say they have the fastest and most helpful claims department I have ever had to deal with. We have had to use them last year when we had some storm damage on the house that affected some of our belongings, and they arrived within 24 hours after I filed a claim from my smartphone!

They offer you so many ways to save when adding this policy. If you bundle your home and car together, you get the best rate out there. I ended up only paying $14 a month for renter's insurance on my home. It was the best rate I had ever been quoted. They offer many options to fit your needs when you are signing up or even getting a quote. You can add or take away things, plus up your coverage or just get the basics. They will walk you through it all online or from your smartphone. They make it so easy to pick them as an insurance company.

I contacted them after having been insured with them for approximately 3 weeks. The motorcycle had been stored for a good 8 months and was in the shop getting ready to ride again. A personal policy was in place. I called to inquire if their personal policies would also cover business use, or vice versa. In the hypothetical event that we chose to utilize the bike as a gas saver when meeting with clients for business. The representative began to type (I could her keyboard) and then stated that she cancelled our policy because they are "now aware the motorcycle could be used for business". One hour and twenty minutes on the phone, to ask a simple question only to have my policy cancelled. They refused to reinstate or maintain the personal policy, even though it is currently being ridden for personal use. I will lose the 3 weeks of money I paid to them (no big deal, but annoying none the less).

It was bizarre, I understand policies and procedures IF we chose to utilize the motorcycle for business, but to submit a cancellation for inquiring about what their different policies cover is weird. It was insane. I will never insure a vehicle through "Drive Insurance" aka Progressive again. I signed up for the policy through AAA, had I talked to Progressive directly from the get go, I would have ran.

My son was involved in a motorcycle accident Feb. 2014, that the other driver was clearly at fault. The accident happened on a Thursday late afternoon, Progressive did not speak to my son until late Friday afternoon and by Monday morning they called and stated my son was actually the one at fault!! Are you kidding me?? They stated they had video to prove it and that they would send it to us. They never have. We had to go to the place and get video ourselves. The video clearly shows the other driver at fault. My husband and I have both done the investigation for Progressive that shows the other driver is at fault. We sent our findings and our copy of the video to Progressive and they have stated they will not change the determination because they already paid the other party. They also stated that their field investigator had just grabbed video on his phone.

We filed a complaint and the response to the complaint is that they now have witnesses. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES. When we asked where they got these witnesses they stated that we gave them to them. Uhhh... Nope, not us. We are pretty sure the witnesses are "friends" of the other party. Progressive is very good at lying, fabricating witnesses, not investigating and more. Do not EVER use this company. I was actually considering switching to them, but after this mess, NO WAY! Progressive employees should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

I had Progressive Motorcycle Insurance for almost 1 year when my motorcycle broke down a block from my home. I contacted Progressive to get a tow and they stated that they will contact someone right away and I would get a text who the company was and time to make service. After 1 hour waiting for the tow I contacted the tow company who outright lied and stated they are leaving now. 1 hour later and still NO tow and I again called who stated that they are preparing to leave and had to find straps to secure my bike. After 1 hour later and still NO tow I contacted Progressive and informed them what happened and they stated they would cancel and send someone else. Again after waiting over 2 hours and NO tow, I finally got fed up and contacted Progressive again and told them about the situation and I told them I would push my 650 lb. motorcycle the 1-2 blocks home and will call them the next day and get it towed.

The next day I did provide them with a tow that was local and tows motorcycles and again waited 2 hours with NO response. I finally called the tow who stated they were busy. A short time later the owner of the company showed up with a flatbed tow and stated he will wait there until his trailer makes service which took another 45 minutes. In all the total time I wasted waiting for a tow was over 6-7 hours. I am glad I wasn't stranded on the side of the road in the cold waiting for this service. I again called to complain to Progressive and all they had to say was that they would put those companies on the bottom of the list. Bottom of the list? Why not off the list? Do yourself a favor... if you want to get a motorcycle towed do not get Progressive Insurance. The wait and aggravation and the numerous calls are NOT WORTH IT! I dropped Progressive as soon as the renewal came up... HORRIBLE SERVICE!

My spouse and I were on a ride and stopped in Coosbay Oregon to get gas. We had just pulled out onto the street and moved into the second lane when a car came across our lane and stopped. Unable to stop that suddenly we hit the side of her car. I was lucky because as a passenger I most likely would have been thrown off the bike and over her car but my spouse positioned the bike sliding it into the car rather than head on. We were traveling at 15 miles per hour. The driver was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way and found 100 percent at fault. Our bike was totaled and both my spouse and I were injured. He was taken by ambulance and I was taken by police vehicle to the ER.

The very next day our phone rang and it was an adjuster for Progressive claiming complete fault and wanting to take our statements. We were on pain meds and unable to properly consent to this so we politely declined. The next time we heard from the adjuster he offered 1K nuisance payment. OK so we are still recovering from our injuries, me in a knee brace with an MCL tear and my spouse with a tear to his shoulder muscles let alone the bruises and mental issues from nearly being killed. I explained to the adjuster how I will most likely be in a brace for 6-8 weeks and my spouse is still recovering. He stated "the amount will not go up." I explained how horrible the accident had affected us and the adjuster hung up on me.

Still not out of a brace accident occurred August 18 2015. Really hopeful that the adjuster will pay our insurance back for medical and motorcycle loss and our helmets. Not sure why they are offering money for a "nuisance". I am not a nuisance, their insured caused us harm. I just want to be made whole again. Not sure when that will happen.

Progressive doesn't even deserve 1 star, was paying $80/mo for a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 650R for a couple years, replaced it with a 2015 BMW S1000RR. I knew it would be more expensive because it's a super sportx but Progressive wanted to charge me $1200 for the first month, a $600/mo after that which is INSANE even for a super sport. I called around and Geico agreed with me that it was an absurd number and said theirs would get me x3 the coverages for half the deductible for $160/mo and they suggest I call them back and let them know that something must be wrong on their end.

So I call Progressive back and explain the situation to them, the representative obviously doesn't care at all and is pretty much just spewing out memorized lines that rates differ from company to company, no duh sherlock, but not by that much! I ended up switching over to Geico and the Progressive rep got rude and I ended up getting charged $434 dollars for having 2 days of insurance. I wouldn't wish them upon my worst enemy, they can seem cool for years but they will bite long term customers in the ** and not even care then get offended when the customer wants to go elsewhere.

I bought twice as much Motorcycle insurance as I probably needed from Progressive. I live up to my obligations and figured I better everybody is protected in case something happens. Unfortunately Progressive does everything it can to avoid living up to it's obligations. My motorcycle somehow fell over in the garage and damaged my wife's $30,000 car. Not much, but it will cost about $1400 to repair. Progressive said they won't cover it because it hit my own property. So what? I buy insurance to cover me and other in case of any accident! I told them it's a good thing I don't have them for house insurance! If my kid set the place on fire by playing with matches, I'd be out of luck.

Not only does this not make sense from a moral standpoint, it doesn't make economic sense either. I paid over $400 per year for Motorcycle Insurance. In three years or so they could have made up their losses and would still have me as a customer for many years. Not only that, I have three other motorcycles I was going to have them insure. Not now. I don't trust them. They are the type of business we should all avoid. I used Progressive only on the recommendation of USAA. They need to be more careful who to recommend. I serve in the military and take duty and obligations seriously. It's clear Progressive does not. Scoundrels of the highest order!

Clean record for over 10 plus years and each year my rates keep going up. I have used Progressive since the day I bought my bike...3/2012. To this day have never used the insurance or any other insurance, except to pay them money. I think I figure it out somewhat. They have disappearing deductible. So that keeps going down but to make up for it, my rates keep going up.

The lady that I talk to was rude. I gave her an example of what happen to a buddy of mine. To this day he is still getting screwed from a accident that happen on 11/20/14 and here it is 3/26/15. The question I ask was, "What will you do for me, to stay out of the same situation he is in?" She ask me question about my buddy but I did not know the answers. So I ask her, "What will you do for me though?" She could not answer me. She kept going back to my buddy. I said, "What will you do for me?"

So due to higher rates and what she did I am looking for another insurance company. I lost my confidence in Progressive. Unless you can convince me why I should stay. After looking at a lot of reviews I do not have much confidence to any insurance out there. Now we are at the point of picking less of the evils of insurance companies out there. They all talk a good sell and stories by what is the bottom line -- How are you going to help me or are you going to screw me? Should have never pass that law to be required to have insurance on a vehicle. I feel it would of made better competition and done better in the claims dept.

Unfortunately I did not shop around as I should have before purchasing coverage after financing a new motorcycle which required immediate proof of insurance to finalize the deal. As a wounded warrior and a USAA member I followed USAA's recommendation and through the USAA website purchased a Progressive policy. Following further research I discovered other quotes from 2 other large insurers that offered better levels of coverage for half of what Progressive had charged.

Upon cancellation of the Progressive policy after 11 days of coverage my $182.00 down payment was refunded only $27.30 which reflected a 90% pro rated refund of the yearly rate of $1200.00 in addition to 90% of the 11 days of coverage with no offer to match the other quotes. My impression is that Progressive knows that they are over priced and as they have a "captive" sample via USAA they charge the higher rate knowing that once the USAA member realizes the non market rate charged the member can only cancel and have their captive down payment assessed 10% of the entire year's coverage in addition to 10% of actual days covered or they can grin and bear it by trying to save value on their initial down payment on the entire year and continue to pay 66% more than the market will bear.

As a disabled veteran I find Progressive insurance practices, while legal as per the contract, predatory, amoral, and unethical not to mention a bad business model the end result being that the money withheld from my down payment which covered 11 days of coverage being equal to 3 months of coverage from my current underwriter.

Adjustor also didn't want to pay for towing and refused to pay for cheap Line-X paint (you can't just spray one panel...it won't match the rest of the bike). Senior adjustor called and said "I'm afraid I have some bad news". I said, "I'm afraid I have some bad news as well". Recently filed small claims lawsuit for breech of contract, failure to comply with local and state policies, loss of work and duress. Progressive is deliberately causing harm due to the fact that they know that this is my primary vehicle and that I need this vehicle to run my business. Shame on you Progressive (**).

I just received my Progressive renewal policy on my motorcycle. I have been insured with them for over 3 years with no claims and no accidents. They increased my yearly premium by 27%. My jaw hit the floor! They did include a Notice of Underwriting and Rating, which stated that it had to do with my credit report. What? My credit score is near perfect. Everything says, up to date, no late payments. So I called Progressive. It seems my credit score revealed I purchased a car. Yes I sure did. They told me that their statistics indicate that when you have financed a car within the last 13 months, that it is more likely you will file a claim on your motorcycle. HUH? I had them repeat it. I am unable to wrap my mind around that.

What does buying a car have to do with filing a claim on my motorcycle? Unbelievable. Maybe it's good I found out NOW. I will get insurance elsewhere. Oh, one more thing. I am a retired veteran. I have my auto insurance thru USAA, but they outsource motorcycle insurance. Yep, I sure did call USAA, which is an excellent insurance company. I let them know exactly how their "affiliate" was treating their veterans.

I called Progressive for a quote. I was referred to them by my insurance company USAA. USAA covers veterans and active military but does not offer motorcycle insurance. I answered all the questions accurately and honestly. I have no tickets or violations in the last 27 years. I was asked if I was a homeowner and I am. I own a beautiful 12 year old mobile home with all the modern goodies. I was quoted a price and prepaid a year in advance. A few weeks later, I receive a bill for an additional $149.00 because my mobile home is over 10 years old and doesn't qualify as a home under their guidelines. I explained the original quote and was told it was in error. I assume that their employees are poorly trained or they are trying to scam a new customer for more money. I called another company and was quoted far less. If this is how Progressive scams veterans, why are they allowed to remain in business? I was lied to. I suggest other veterans and active military avoid this company.

Avoid this company. Simply Google search and read all of the negative reviews that far exceed the positive ones. Progressive is the absolute worst. I was hit by a vehicle while operating my motorcycle. The other driver was at fault, pled guilty to careless, etc. So of course following a good ol' smash up/road pizza incident, then comes the bills.

I was covered under PIP - personal injury protection. After my trip to the E.R., I receive a letter from Progressive along with a MASSIVE packet to fill out, stating I will not be covered by anyone else. Of course I wouldn't. It was a motor vehicle accident. Being the upstanding customer I am, I fill out every last page and expedite the return of said documents. They received the documents, still would not pay. My health insurer - caring about my wellness and recovery - temporarily covered my claims. Once it exceeded $5k, they sought reimbursement from Progressive through a third party.

Fast forward 6 months later: multiple doctor trips later, one MRI later, complete re-wiring of an ankle later, multiple sessions of physical therapy later (and more to go), and Progressive still has not covered anything. I email my claims rep about the simple fact: if my health insurer is now seeking reimbursement, what about the hundreds of dollars I paid out of pocket to cover multiple co-payments. Her exact response - "I don't understand your question. We have paid the claims. If you have any further questions, have your attorney contact me." Roger that.

Of course this is only two days after receiving the reimbursement letter that this worthless trash bag states everything is covered. I will be contacting my lawyer bout my co-pays, and also the money I paid in full for the annual premium that I paid two months before my bike was totaled. My recommendation, go through any other insurance company. Progressive is straight garbage.

My husband had coverage on one motorcycle with Progressive for a year at (what we thought was) a reasonable cost. This year, he decided to get another bike. We went from $92.50 to $300 premiums. He decided to shop and was offered better coverage on both bikes for a $63 premium by Geico. When my husband cancelled the policy six days after adding the second bike, he was told he still owed $250 for the balance of the month. Not only will Progressive grossly overcharge for premiums, but they will rip you off if you cancel coverage and threaten you with collection proceedings if you don't pay it within a week of cancellation.

I am then told that by canceling my motorcycle policy that I owed them money! They just took out a substantial amount for the premium two days ago 9/17/2013. It is now 9/19/2013. They should be giving me back almost all of my premium. They come up with some bullcrap about how they get to keep 90% of the policy money paid into it and that I owed them $7.00. What is this crap? I was a Progressive customer for 4 years entering into my 5th. The problems all started when I purchased a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Progressive added the new vehicle to my policy along with the one they had been insuring for 4 years. One day I was on their website looking at my account and noticed a policy declaration stating that I was not going to get Progressive's best rate. I called the company and asked then how they arrived at this decision, and the gentleman on the phone said it was because of my credit rating, and the fact that I had purchased a new vehicle and they did not like the way I was paying for my insurance (payments instead of a lump sum). Well, my average credit rating for all three bureaus was 780, then about the vehicle I purchased, it was the motorcycle they were insuring. When I questioned them as to what they were using to determine my rates, they said, "Well, that's just the way it is." So my policy went from $600 to $1,600. I went to GEICO.

Let me start by saying I have been with Progressive for nearly 8 yrs. I've only used their services for unlocking my car or a flat tire, until recently. The last year I've had 2 incidences that left a salty taste in my mouth towards this company. (It’s windy, but worth the read.)

The first claim I filed was for flood damage to my car. My initial call, was to advise of the damage (on a Thursday), where I was told I would be called the next business day. I spoke w/ another agent the next day. Then another the day after. All asking the same questions, none giving directions. (Let me add, by this time I've spoken to about 4 different people).

With Monday approaching, I decided to take my car to the shop as I had no other form of transportation. When I advised the claims "specialist" (if that's what you want to call them), they told me the adjuster could go to the shop. Well, the next day (so we're like 4 days in) the adjuster can't recover the parts from the shop. So now, they tell me - send them the repair bills once completed and the adjuster will come to my job to look at the car. He comes out, says pop the hood. By the time I got out the car to see what he was looking at, he was putting the hood down. I questioned this and he told me he only needed to see if the air filter had been changed.

Needless to say, in a few hours my claims "specialist" calls and tells me they're not paying the claim, because they can't prove that the flood damage to my car was caused during "this particular" rain. Then she asks me did I take pictures of the car in the flood water? Huh!! If it's raining so hard outside that go through flood water, why would you get out the car taking pictures of the car stuck in water. I think that's the most ridiculous request. Especially since I sent them pictures of the now mildewing floor of my car. Basically - they didn't pay the claim.

My next claim - very recent - an accident. I was hit from the back side while I was in a left hand turn. I was almost done with my turn when I was hit. When we got out our cars, she really didn't say much except "Did you see the train? [which was maybe 2 lights up]." The only conclusion I could come to is she looked up, saw the train and tried to turn, but wasn't paying attention that I was already turning. I called, filed the claim (1st person I talked to). The lady called in, told them she hit me. I was told, no problem, they were filing the claim under her insurance policy (this was the 2nd person I spoke to). We are both Progressive Policy holders.

This time the person I spoke with went as far as discussing with me if I wanted a check or if I decided to go to the shop they pay the shop. All good. No worries. Well, a day later the 3rd person calls me. Asks my side of the story again. She asks for pictures, again tells me the claim is being filed under the person who hit me's insurance - all good. 2 days 4th person calls me, asks for my side of the story. At this point, I question what's going on, because I was told this was going to be an easy claim. No worries. So he tells me the lady is saying I hit her. She changed her story. WHAT? So now she says, she hit me because I turned into her lane.

This agent, Grant, tells me the adjuster has to look at both of our cars to determine who was at fault. I advise him I'm going on vacation and also work during the time their shop is open - 7am - 6pm in Houston. So he says there’s no other way to do it. I advise him for my last claim the adjuster came to my job, so why can't he come out. Grant tells me “Well if you do it that way it takes a week.” Fine. He then says, “Well if you just want to get this over with quicker, you can just settle for the repair amount minus your deductible.” I told him no, because to me that would seem like I'm saying I hit her and I didn't. He tells me he'll call me when my appt is set. I didn't hear from him for like 3-4 days.

When Grant called back, he basically called to tell me they changed the status of the claim and found me at fault. Blew my mind. First because he told me nothing could be determined until the adjuster looked at my car. Second because I didn't know someone could change their story and not be liable for an accident they caused. When I asked what happened to the adjuster looking at my car first, he advised he saw pictures that she sent. This lady took one picture of my car and that’s only because she saw me taking pictures of her car. She was literally about to drive off and got out, snapped one picture and left. I had several pictures, but from the way he said he saw pictures she sent, I knew he hadn't looked at my pictures, YET that’s how HE determined who was at fault.

When the adjuster showed up at my job a day later, of course I had to tell my story again. Start telling him the same story, the area I was in and he totally got it. He said he was very familiar with the area, the streets are narrow. Why was the lady worried about the train, it was 2 light up, etc. He agrees with me. I tell him how the lady said I turned in her lane (which the way we were driving and I was turning, I would've taken off the whole front of her car) - he agrees. Looks at my car, says there's no scratch marks (from then saying I hit her). He advises me to ask for an onsite inspection, where they have to go to the crash site.

He says the people sit in their office all day and that's what they do. They're not out here looking at the cars. I take his advice - ask to speak with Grant's manager, ask for the onsite investigation. She tells me they don't need to go onsite, because she was on some GPS site and is looking at the street on her computer. She tells me, she doesn't know about changing the liability because the other party can get upset and end up taking it to court. HUH?? Then tells me she will review everything and call me back - (yes, this the what 5 or 6th person I've talked to now). A week later, I get a VM from Grant (not sure why he's calling me, when I asked to only speak with the supervisor). Anyways he leaves me a VM to say liability stands (my fault), yes ridiculous. I've never seen anyone run into the back - side of someone and it not be their fault.

In all this process I've actually called Progressive to cancel my insurance with them. I had my motorcycle and car insured through this company, but what is the use in paying out insurance every month to a company who clearly doesn't have your best interest in mind. And on my 1st claim for the flood damage, one of their claims people I called to file my complaint with, after they didn't want to pay actually told me it's their job not to pay people!

My pictures include the pictures of my car floors - water damage. The pic of the tow truck after waiting for Progressive for 4 days to look at my car (was never advised I was covered for a rental car until after I fixed the car) and the picture of my accident.

Ben was informed he did not have that coverage but his passenger was entitled to $15k for medical care, which would have helped but nowhere near covered the expense.

When filing a claim for the passenger coverage, they denied us saying because we were married, I was not covered. In the insurance adjusters words, "We don't cover family and members of the household because we know that they won't sue the policy holder". Had I been a girlfriend, friend, etc., they would have covered me. They make their decision knowing that I cannot receive additional medical care from the neuro-surgeon without cash up front. I carried Progressive insurance on my vehicles for 7 years with no claims. Through the whole 7 years, they had full access to my checking account via ETF. When I purchased a new Harley, they refused to insure it and fax the card to the dealer because I did not have a motorcycle endorsement on my driver’s license. Without insurance, I could not pick up bike from dealer. Without bike, I could not take driving test for motorcycle endorsement. So I insured the new bike with Geico over the phone. Geico faxed the card to the dealer and gave me 30 days to get my driver’s license endorsement.

I was so pleased with Geico's service and rates that 3 weeks later, when I bought a second Harley, I had Geico insure it and all my vehicles. Once all vehicles were insured by Geico and I had policies in hand, I called Progressive and told them to not renew my policies when they expire the next month. Their customer service representative promised not to renew the policies. Months later, I get a bill from Progressive for unpaid premiums. I called and they told me I was in arrears since policy renewal date, yet they never mailed the new policies they supposedly renewed, nor did their computer show a record of my request to not renew coverage.

I told them it was mighty odd that I never got new insurance cards or a new policy in the mail, yet they claimed they had renewed the policy. I told them they had some serious record keeping problems and that if I truly owed them money, they had the ability to withdraw it from my checking account. The service representative replied that they no longer had access to my checking account and couldn't take the money. I said, "Yeah, the lady I talked to when I declined renewal must have only deleted that record, but failed to do whatever she needed to do to prevent renewal." I refused to pay for their mistake. Now Progressive has turned it over to a collection agency and ruined my credit rating which will possibly hurt my rates with Geico. On May 8, 2010, I was involved in an accident with a person who was insured by Progressive. The man was on a motorcycle and driving the wrong way down a 2-way street to pass by traffic and drove directly into me. At the scene of the accident, there were multiple witnesses, and a witness gave a statement to the police as she was in front of the accident as it happened, confirming the driver of the motorcycle was at fault.

Also, we called Progressive to report the accident, at which time, the driver of the motorcycle admitted the accident was his fault. I then spoke with the representative from Progressive at the scene of the accident, Kelly, and she said multiple times that it was not my fault to be in front of the other driver and he never denied that claim.

On that following Monday, May 10, 2010, when the Insurance adjuster for Progressive called me, Jim **, he informed me that the other driver has decided to change his story and they would not make a determination of fault until they had the full police report. That next day, Tuesday, a copy of the handwritten police report was faxed to Jim and the witness of the accident was trying to return the one phone call Jim made to her. She then began to call me, because she couldn't get in touch with Jim.

At this point, I called Jim to let him know my witness was trying to reach him. His response was "You aren't my only case; I'll get to it when I get to it. You need to go through your own insurance because I can't promise when I will be able to review this. And it will be easier if you go through your own insurance and then let them come after us later."

This seemed like a fine solution. So I called my insurance adjuster and informed her of the situation, exasperated at the response I was given by Progressive. She called him to see what the hold up was. Jim was very curt with her as well and basically told her the same thing that "he was too busy to review my claim." The fact that Progressive let their insurer change their story, causing the need to "investigate," just seems unethical in itself. But the way I was treated was not only stressful, but discourteous and crude. After receiving a customer service survey, I documented the not-so-pleasant experience. When I received a phone call from a "supervisor," I received an even more unpleasant experience.

I was told that I inconvenienced them, and Jim was upset and treated me the way he did because the woman at the body shop my car was at kept calling asking for updates. How is that my fault? I was not given an apology at all. I did not ask to have my car hit, and I was just trying to have a solution in a timely manner. I missed two full days of work, because there were other things wrong with my car, not including the time at work I lost leaving work early to pick it up.

I feel like I was terrorized and treated unfairly by all parties involved. Progressive didn't want to accept responsibility and tried to make me so miserable that I would just go through my own insurance, so they could get away without paying.

In February of this year, 2010, I went online to see if my insurance rate was raised or the same. This is the month that it was due to be paid for another year. I had my 1965 Kit car and 1992 Toyota Camry insured with them, as well as my homeowners and motorcycle. To my surprise, the policy had been cancelled 5 months earlier! I called the 800 number ASAP as I was at work and had driven that day, as usual. They told me they had sent out a collection notice for $130.00 at the 6 month interval of the policy.

I remember getting the insurance cards, with the same expiration dates, but nothing else. They also told me that they sent an email as well as a letter stating that they had canceled my policy. The latter only after I told them that WV state law requires them to send formal notice of a cancellation. Well, I asked them to just re-write the policies. They did, on the phone, but to my surprise, the quote was double what it was prior to this error on their part! I asked why, and they told me it was because I have lapsed for so long without insurance, and I was being quoted as if I was a new driver! They told me they were bound by state laws. Why are they bound if they made the mistake?

I asked to speak to a manager, and he told me the same thing. I just told them I was going to cancel all of my policies with them and to look elsewhere. I ended up going with USAA, and they still had to quote me 1/3 higher than I was paying due to the screw up at Progressive. I liked the service Progressive provided, and want to go back with them, but I need the rates to be what they were, and be treated like someone who has driven for 36 years. The issues are higher premiums on my policies for at least two years, and having the records show I let my insurance lapse, which I did not. I could have had an accident and hurt myself or someone else during this time frame, and had no insurance to help matters out. Please let me know if something can be done to correct this error in my records. Thank you.

I am a new customer of Progressive. I am very unhappy with the practices of your company! I called to receive a quote with your company a couple of months ago for auto, motorcycle and home. The quote I received for auto was reasonable so I accepted.

After two months I noticed a debit from my checking account for twice the amount of the original quote. I called to ask why and was told that because I did not send proof of prior insurance coverage that it had increased my premium. I received no such request and was told nothing of this requirement during my initial setup. I was told of this for the home policy and responded promptly!

I work in the insurance division for the state of MD and would never ignore such a request! When I talked to the supervisor, Melanie, on 04/17/10, she stated that I had been e-mailed. She also stated, very unsympathetically of the matter, that they had the incorrect phone number and had sent a mailing to the house of the problem. No such mailing ever came to the home.

I have three policies with you and have been called several times by home department and they didn't have a problem. After telling Ms. Melanie that I would be switching to a different company, she did not care at all. She was just stuck on the fact that I did not respond to the e-mail so it was all my fault.

Bad business! They have lost a customer. I would like this forwarded to the highest level so that they may know how valued customers are being treated. I was deducted twice the amount of the agreed upon monthly premium--$150 dollars that was to go towards groceries for the week.

I have a motorcycle and motorhome insured with them. I have been paying for $5,000.00 coverage on my vintage Honda Goldwing. It had an accident while transporting, The claims adjuster came out and said it was totaled and the damage was $4,700. Now they are only offering me $1,700.00 and take my motorcycle and will not step up to the plate and pay what I have been paying for.

I am told, I have no recourse on this matter, please help. Total loss to me and they want to pay me a fraction of what I have been paying for, and tell me that is only a "stated" amount and not for real, however, they take the payments on this. I do believe that this is fraud and a total loss for me.

On May 24th, my motorcycle bags, seat, windshield and backrest was stolen off the bike in Oakland, Ca., I made the proper reports ie; police and Progressive claim. Three days later, I received a call, after calling to find out what was the next step from an adjuster who later said he would send some one out to take pictures and get a report from me. Approximately 4 days later, I called to ask what time was the guy coming out and the claims representative. (Drew **) preceded to let me know that he forgot to make the appointment for someone to come out. Another $ days before the adjuster came out, then at that time I informed him that the bike was my only transportation at the time and how much longer will it be, he then said about two weeks for it to be completed.

The following week a S. ** called to tell me he was the investigator and he would be in contact when the papers came across his desk. He had a very bad attitude and was being slightly suspicious of me.

Also, Drew asked a friend of mine that works for Progressive in Fresno if I could be trusted and does she think I removed the items from my bike just to make a claim. It has been 26 days now and I have heard no more about my claim, if I'm to get estimates, when will the claim be settled or anything. When I called Mr. ** on Friday, June 12th, he would not return my calls, so I had to call a Supervisor in order for him to call me back in which his response was he had not received the hard copy and he officially has 30 days to make a decision. I informed him again that I need the bike asap to get to and from work and he said he would get back to me the following Monday, June 21, and has not. I have had to pay someone to take me to and from work and also borrow my mothers car for a week to run errands.

I have been insured with Progressive for our four motorcycles and boat. My policies are always paid in full. I revised our policy to remove a couple of the motorcycles and each time I received a copy of the revision, it was incorrect. I have spent so much time contacting them to make sure they had the correct information and each time it would be wrong, they would remove the wrong motorcycle and keep the one I wanted canceled on the policy. Long story short, I was overcharged many times and they couldn't get it right. So when renewal time came, I said "Are you out of your minds? You guys need to get it together." They sent me an additional bill for what I don't know. The initial policy was with 4 motorcycles and ended up with only two remaining on policy. They said I owe additional money.

Progressive insurance has the worst account department I have ever dealt with. Without notifying me of any additional charges, I received notice that I have been turned over to collections. They sent me to collections and I have this reported on my credit report. Recently, I received a refund check for their accounting errors. This is yet to be cleared up with collection company. It will have to be a cold day in hell before I would recommend Progressive to anyone. My suggestion is to spend more money on competent sales associates and less on their cool commercials!

I filed a motorcycle theft claim on June 22, 2008 A month later I called for a follow up, and they said they need more time, 2 months after I called for another follow up, Jamie said she still needed more time, I, then called the supervisor, Jordin, and he spoke to me like I was a criminal, the other conversation was like a bad faith situation, he was no help.

I contacted the Department of Insurance and was told that under the fair settlement regulations, Progressive had 80 days or less to either pay or deny the claim, I told them til this day, all they have been doing is delaying the claim and told me to file a formal complaint. As of today I received an email from Jennifer, a claim's investigator, and she says she will be handling my claim, and will contact me by next week after she reviews my claim. It's already been 3 months today.

Month after month, I've been paying the premiums and seeing no result, on top of that when I was hoping to get things settled, every time I get in contact with them, they delay the case and I don't get no answer, they keep giving me the run around, it's time consuming.

I was had a motorcycle accident in a remote area of California. I placed several calls for service with the help of a passer-by. After several calls, I never received assistance. I was stranded in a remote location for three hours and had to dig my motorcycle out of the dirt.

Physical: hurt lower back trying to get my motorcycle out of field/ditch. Psychological: traumatized - unable to sleep. Had to throw rocks at a pack of coyotes for 30 minutes until I received help from a good Samaritan.

Our customer's motorcycle was towed into our shop July 14, 2007. We paid the towing expense and the owner submitted the claim to Progressive Roadside Assistant Insurance for reimbursement. By August 31, 2007, having not yet been reimbursed, I contacted service rep Jenny at Progressive at 1-800-888-7764, and she stated that they had not yet received the claim. I resubmitted the claim on August 31, 2007 via letter stating in boldfaced and underlined wording that to Please make the check out to our shop. By October 18, 2007 we had not received reimbursement, and I called Progressive again and spoke to Eric who said that they had sent the check to the customer and not to us. He said they would put a stop on the check and send us a check that would arrive within 10-12 business days. I explicitly stated during this conversation that the check should be sent to us and referred to the August 31, 2007 letter.

Today, November 14, 2007, having not been reimbursed, I called Progressive once again and spoke to an Eric; he said the check was sent to Progressive and not us, though he did not know why. When I tried to extract from him a commitment to a date that a check would be sent to us, he hedged and would not commit to any date. He kept stating that he would have to look into it. I don't understand what there is to look into. It was a simple $150 towing expense for a dead battery, and we should have been reimbursed for this, without this much hassle. It has been four months since the customer's motorcycle was towed into our shop, and we feel like we are getting the runaround from Progressive.

(1) Progressive overcharged us $35 month for motorcycle insurance w/o informing us. when we brought it to their attention they changed and reimbursed us. (2) Progressive kept raising the rates on our new vehicle quotes, giving us the until you send us this information/form run around. Then they would charge our checking accounts and later credit them. It was a mess trying to figure out what the heck they were doing. (3) So I called and cancelled and they charged me a $85 fee to cancel my insurance!!! What a rip off.
