What is Pacific Specialty home insurance?

Pacific Specialty is an insurer that provides property coverage for a variety of homeowners and home types, including:

  • Traditional homeowners insurance: In the event of a total loss, Pacific Specialty’s homeowners insurance offers extended replacement cost coverage above the dwelling limit to make sure you have enough to rebuild. The policy also pays for living expenses while your home is being repaired.
  • Renters insurance: Like its home insurance, Pacific Specialty’s renters insurance offers replacement cost coverage, as well as liability protection.
  • Condos/townhomes insurance: Pacific Specialty offers identity theft protection through its condo and townhouse policies.
  • Mobile homes insurance: Pacific Specialty’s mobile home coverage is designed for single- and double-wide homes, with primary, rental or seasonal occupancy and added coverage for golf carts. Seniors are eligible for mobile home policy discounts.

Pacific Specialty also provides liability, powersports and watercraft insurance, as well as earthquake insurance up to $2.5 million, which you can purchase as an addition to home insurance or as a standalone policy. Earthquake coverage includes up to $100,000 for loss of use and enhanced coverage options for pools and valuables.

How does Pacific Specialty home insurance work?

    I am a customer who has recently had the opportunity to interact with your Pacific Specialty insurance team member, Jason, during the claim process. I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service that Jason provided. His assistance throughout the claims process was invaluable, but it was his actions beyond the call of duty that truly impressed me.

    When I was dealing with an invoice from a restoration company that tried to overcharge me above what the insurance agreed to pay and went as far as putting a lien on my house. Jason went above and beyond to help me address the issue. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to documenting all the necessary evidence were commendable. I am certain that his diligent efforts made the case indisputable for that company, and they have now settled the invoice as “PAID” without any extra money from me or your company.

      My faucet pipe burst last summer causing a major damage to our home. This had been the first time I had to deal with an insurance claim. At first I was tossed around between few adjusters, but once I landed with Catherine ** it had been a smooth and pleasant process. Catherine took ownership of my initial rough experience and was "on it" right away expediting things to make up for the lost time while patiently explaining to me the process. Everyone warned me about dealing with insurances, but thanks to Catherine my experience with Pacific Specialty was very professional and as importantly very personable at a very stressful time in my life. I am truly grateful!

      I had a good size leak coming from the shower and it led into one of my rooms. It was a day before my father passed while he was in hospice. The timing couldn’t have been worse and I was under a lot of stress. I made a claim and had received Spencer as my claim adjuster. He went out of his way to reassure me things would be fixed in a timely matter. He spoke to me every day and gave me details for each step. He really helped me through this difficult time. I don’t normally do reviews but I wanted to make sure this company and Spencer knows how grateful, and appreciative I am of all the compassion and support they showed me and my family. Thank you.

      I am an Independent agent and I write with over 20 different home carriers. PSIC is by far one of my favorite companies to work with in terms of claims, billing, customer service and underwriting. They have their customer service in the United States which is wonderful, you can actually get someone on the phone and they can get something done.

      Unfortunately, the majority of the people who leave negative reviews don't have a touch on the reality of today's current economy and issues. PSIC is not in control of supply chain, transportation, availability of electrical materials, plumbing materials, building material and labor, just to name a few. These are issues that PSIC has to work with as well as all Insurance providers and customers are just going to have to adjust. PSIC doesn't hire the contractor's and skilled labor, they have to wait just like the client does and unfortunately, this is new normal. Be thankful that you can speak with someone in the United States, receive a response in a timely manner and get someone on the phone that is accountable and responsive.

      While other companies are increasing their rates by 20 - 35%, PSIC is still making homeowners insurance affordable. My Territory Sales Manager, Steve ** is amazing, he responds to my questions almost immediately and he always gets me an answer. I look forward to working with PSIC and watching them grow and offer more products to my clients. My advice to those who are frustrated with their claim, call your agent and get them involved to resolve the issue!

      Recently without proper communication Pacific Specialty cancelled my insurance for a "Roof" problem we were not notified excited, they did not send a letter to notify and/or give us the opportunity to fix the problem. We never received a Non-renewal notices either! Now we are caught in between with no coverage!... They don't even answer the phone line to talk and provide an explanation, I just checked BBB website and this business is at F, with many similar cases, I emailed them directly and still haven't got anything back!
