Cigna thinks it's okay to retroactively revoke in-network coverage of a physician while a patient is undergoing treatment, make the appeals process as difficult as possible, never answer the appeal for over a month, and make it impossible to contact anyone to follow up on said appeal. All while charging an absolute fortune. I would never sign up with them again.

During open enrollment I called Cigna and talked to Brian **. I asked him if my dermatologist was in their network. He told me that my Dr. Was. I have been diagnosed with melanoma 6 time. I would like to continue to seeing the same Dr. This was Oct 29th. Cigna has been taking money out of my account. I had an appointment coming up in January. I called and told them I needed a card. The person said it would be sent out tomorrow. That was nov 13th. Never came. Called again Nov 18. I was told the same thing. Then I called again Dec 2. It was in the mail. It never came. Then I received a letter. They were denied delivery. I still don't have a medical card from them and my Dr. is not in their network but they take my money every month. What a waste of my money.

I'm not sure what I am paying for with Cigna health insurance, other than the right for them to rob me blind, when the deductible options we were given through our company were so high it practically covers my entire families wellness, and physicals each year before they cover one dollar. I am paying for the privilege for them to collect a paycheck from me it seems.

Constant battle to get seizure meds for young son, numerous times even went without! High risk and carefree as to what could happen to him. Very difficult to get answer.

Ian ** Was the name of the Cigna rep I was speaking with. He was great at wasting time and avoided transferring the call no matter how many times I ask. I pay you not the other way around. These companies need to start remembering that. Went from pay 35 out of pocket to 3100 for my prescription. I now have to pay for this trash for the next year as well as now having to buy a 2nd insurance to cover the script. Please avoid this company. Signed.

      Yours truly (screwed)

If I could give negative stars I would. I called today to discuss an appeal. After being on hold for over 60 minutes the representative told me no one is available to help me. I have external appeal, saying Cigna should pay my claim, but I've getting the run around for 10 months. CIGNA SUCKS!!!! Cigna does not care! They only pay small claims.

This is quite literally the worst health insurance I have ever dealt with. We pay over $800 a month just to have NOTHING covered. I pay $25 a month for my medicine when I can get it for $6 without my insurance! They don’t pay for anything mental health-related. I have had necessary blood draws, and the claims were rejected. They won’t pay for my son’s ADHD meds. Someone who has probably never been to medical school decided the medicine that his Dr prescribed wasn’t medically necessary.

Our employer enrolled us in this insurance because it’s employee-funded and cheap for them, but it’s way too expensive for how horrible it is. As soon as our enrollment contract is up, I will be canceling this and getting any other insurance besides this one. It is absolute trash. I wanted to leave zero stars, but unfortunately had to leave one. Do yourself a favor and don’t pay a penny for this insurance. Trash trash trash.

Cigna is the absolute worst company. They are always running out the clock on patients and through their bogus denial reasons that never make sense, you are considered dead if you get Cigna insurance, and your family will be in so much debt. Don't waste your money. It's literally a waste

Cigna acknowledged that I was overcharged by my dental provider, yet failed to take any meaningful action when the provider refused to correct the charges. I was explicitly told that legal action would be pursued and that I would be reimbursed—neither of which ever happened. Despite this, the dental office continues to participate in Cigna’s network. This experience showed a complete lack of accountability and follow-through on Cigna’s part.

My company just switched from Aetna to Cigna after the first of the year and found out my medications are not covered. It went through 2 appeals and still got denied. Clearly Cigna does not want my money so I have canceled my insurance and am going back to Aetna for individual insurance.

Cigna is a worldwide health insurance organization that covers individuals, families and employers. It has been in business for over 30 years.

        • Well-established company: Cigna is one of the best-known health insurance companies in the United States.

        • Large network of physicians: Cigna has more than 500,000 physicians and more than 8,000 hospitals in its network.

        • Low-cost coverage: Consumers can choose among a variety of plans, including low-cost offerings.

        • Supplemental insurance: While Cigna has dentists and vision specialists in its network, adding coverage for these services is not easy.
