We had a deal under contract over a two months ago. Last month after inspection/appraisal we agreed (buyer/seller) I’d replace the roof and we’d close within two weeks. I replaced the roof, moved all of my things out, turned off the electricity and WiFi a week prior to closing only for the closing date to be pushed back another week for unspecified reasons, a week later there’s still no confirmation to close and I find out from my RedFin agent that the buyer doesn’t even have approved financing. How does that even happen? How do you as an agent not know whether or not a buyer can even buy a house before putting the house under contract???

It’s now been over two months, we have no deal, no approved financing from the buyer, no feedback from the buyer's agent and all of my furnishings have been moved out. I’m out of pocket over $3000 just from making repairs and moving things out + the time over invested getting everything done on my part. I’ll have to pay another $3000-$4000 just to purchase new furniture to replace the furniture I’ve moved out and given away + this house was a rental house and I’ve lost out on 2 months worth of rent money + I’m still paying a monthly mortgage on a vacant house that was bringing in monthly income.

The RedFin agent doesn’t have any sense of urgency to get my house back on the market so we can get a credible buyer. Two months later and thousands of dollars wasted. RedFin communicated more with the title agency about their commissions than they did communicating with the buyer’s agent on their client’s ability to buy a house. This is a complete joke..

This seemed like a scam but trust what you experience with them, as scams seem to sneak up on someone. The Realtors do NOT care. They do not try to fix website problems and this is import for Redfin messes up tour times, even booking them without a client's knowledge. Agents do NOT truly help someone make an offer; do not listen to their preferences and lead one on a futile pointless chase to locate their "dream home." Communications not returned in kind. If you like being left empty handed, misled in any way, humored, choose them. Contracts are also unclear. Make sure they have expired. When any issues especially incorrect meetings and agenda are occurring, it's best to close any Redfin "profiles."

This company is inconclusive at best. A customer should not feel they owe anyone for these issues, especially after signing, so move on as soon as possible. The whole rout set us back months in our plans, schedule, long range hopes; whatever! Being proactive in explaining anything to them truly was wasted. It's impossible to make a solid offer alongside such disorganization and lack of decisiveness on the other side. One may not be taken seriously as a consumer, seller or buyer.

I sold a condo through Redfin in Illinois in August 2025. Such a great experience, I purchased another condo in Sun City Az through Redfin. Kimberly ** was my agent. Kim went above and beyond to help me acquire just the right home. Kim is not only knowledgeable, patient, understanding and fun, she's the best Redfin agent in the Phoenix area. When you're ready to buy or sell, call Redfin. If you're in the Phoenix area ask for Kim **. You'll be as impressed as I am.

      1) I had a rental listing that I listed on MLS, ZILLOW, and Apartments.com on 4/3/2025.
      2) This unit was rented and removed from MLS, ZILLOW, and Apartments.com on 6/21/2025.
      3) This unit was NEVER listed on Redfin, yet they stole listing from MLS then didn’t remove when unit was rented and removed from MLS on 6/21/2025.
      4) I don’t mind Redfin stealing from MLS, but at least remove when listing has been removed from MLS!!!
      5) I believe Redfin is a subpar listing site that creates problems within our industry.

      6) I believe Redfin is causing damage to my real estate business.

I'm disabled and I have income coming every month & I didn't like the 1st appt. That I took a tour of so I wanted to look at more before my decision. This person told me it was so, I said ok then called me weeks later asking me if I still wanted, I said yes, still no call! I've reported it to the B. B. B. bureau. And also, it's not an equal opportunity business! I'm glad I saved the messages from Josie ** because if I didn't it would be "He say & SHE say" & I felt these people were genuine equal opportunity do not exist.

Redfin contacted me about the possibility of selling my current home. After much back and forth I set up a date and time to meet a realtor for a free consultation of my home. The realtor failed to keep the allotted appointment in which I requested another realtor as the one they gave me never contacted me back to reschedule nor seemed interested in the sale. Yet Every time I went on redfin to look at different areas to purchase another home, Sandy, who cancelled, was attached to everything I took an interest in and it stated to contact her. We have not met, have not even spoken to each other, no contracts were signed yet here she is attached to my redfin account.

One thing led to another in which I was told by a Candace ** that there are "no" realtors in my area and that they cannot help me. At this point I didn't want nor asked for their help in selling my home. Fast forward to a few weeks later and mind you I frequent redfin's site daily I now have Candace ** name attached to my redfin account; why are these people messing around with my account yet nothing has been signed sealed nor delivered. This is Harassment at its best, scamming, phishing, etc.

I contacted Candace about how & why she's now attached to my account weeks later. This is her response: "I am not a local agent. I reassigned you to me to oversee changes to your account". When asked for more detail like what changes Candace blatantly ignores me again. There are pictures of my home inside and out as well as a log of the work I've had done in recent years. Who's to say that 1. My house won't be broken into? 2. People looking for a routine schedule? 3. My total privacy is invaded by this "realtor" with my knowledge nor consent has done to "oversee" changes to my account and 4. What changes? 5. Was never ever given permission to access my account. This is very unsettling as in today's world anything can happen and you can't be too careful. So now I feel my safety is jeopardized, my privacy violated and await further explanation of what and why just happened.

AWFUL company, would not ever recommend! Terrible customer service, completely bare bones, and barely makes deadlines. Also has advertisements that tries to stir up racial divisiveness. Will never use again.

If Redfin has a contest using their website that doesn’t work how is anybody going to use their site for the most important purchase of their life. I am actually tech savvy so don’t tell me to update my app or clear my cache.

Absolute bottom of the barrel in regards to customer service. Serious error on an MLS listing and there's literally no one to talk to or email that can fix it. Messages left, emails sent. They should be removed from being allowed to access MLS listings.

Redfin author review by Jessica Kaplan

Redfin was established in 2006 in the Pacific Northwest with the goal of making the real estate industry more consumer-friendly. It is a real estate brokerage website whose agents do not work on commission, and its real estate website lets consumers search MLS listings. The company now operates in most U.S. states and advertises that it has helped consumers save $300 million.

      • Map search: Redfin’s map search distinguishes itself by providing users with market prices for neighborhoods within their search area. When a user searches for listing in any given city, they can hover over different areas to see the range of listing prices and the median price. This feature makes it easy for homebuyers to locate a neighborhood in their price range.

      • Transportation scores: Under the neighborhood information section on every listing, Redfin includes transportation scores for walking and biking as well as access to public transportation. Buyers who do not want to own a car will find this information helpful.

      • Account features: Once website visitors create a Redfin account, they can mark properties to checkout, favorite them or both.

      • App: Redfin’s mobile app can send users instant updates when a new property matching their criteria is listed, meaning they see properties before potential buyers who only use an agent or browse online.

      • Commission refund: Redfin agents are salaried employees who do not work on commission. They can earn bonuses based on customer satisfaction. Because agents do not work on commission, they don’t accept the commission paid by non-Redfin realtors. Instead, the commission goes to the homebuyer in the form of a refund after the buyer closes on the property.
