My not yet 3yr old ($2100.00) Whirlpool refrigerator started having problems. I thought it was related to the ice maker. When the repairman came out, he said it had leaked the Freon, so I thought it should have been a simple fix. Boy was I wrong. It turns out it has a sealed system so no one can access this to fix it. It is now junk and I have to buy a new one. I will never purchase Whirlpool anything ever again and I will also tell anyone who will listen about my experience. My repairman said this happens all the time, and 7 or 8 yrs ago Whirlpool went from being one of the top models to being junk.

GB2SHDXTS02 - Bought the Unit and an additional 4 yr protection plan. Shortly after the plan expired the plastic drip pan cracked and spilled water all over the laminate floor. It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesn't cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. My fault for not checking ratings before I bought, but built in obsolescence is obvious here. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but I will never or will my family ever buy another appliance from them.

Looked for the best refrig we could find and it turned out to be a piece of junk! Less than 3 years old, paid 2700$, french doors bottom door freezer. It started making a lot of noise it seem to be coming from freezer. Called Whirlpool, they said to clean coils. We wanted a repair company to come out. They set an appointment for next Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. Said ok.

Was making so much noise, and no longer freezing everything so call said company. Lady was very rude, and said they would not be out on Tuesday but sometime the following week. This would not work for us so called another repair shop, said they would be out. They were here before 6pm. Found out that they have been having this problem, had same type of call already this week. Repair for this problem would be over $1100.00. No thank you! Would just as soon junk this appliance. So very sorry we wasted our money on this.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me "it's out of my hands" a "special" unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone.

They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was "out of their hands". If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator and the warranty company sent a technician out to repair my refrigerator. It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty won't refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says it'll take 2 weeks before I can get that. After mailing in writing that I want to cancel 500 dollars wasted and no one wants to help. Thanks Whirlpool. I'll definitely let all my family and friends know of my experience.

WORST EXPERIENCE USING WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator in July 2013 (Model - Whirlpool Ref New 495 CLUB IMPERIA). Suddenly it stopped working on May 12 and I registered a compliant to the customer care. Engineer came in same and I was surprised by the service, he checked and said he rectified the problem and he left. But the problem was still there and it was never rectified.

I launched the complaint again on May 13 and engineer came again and said there is gas problem in Compressor and he left by saying that another engineer will come to refill the gas in compressor. Next day new engineer came in he checked everything and said this compressor is not working and needs to be replaced. I said go ahead and replace it, he said it will take 1-2 days. I said “ok let's do it.” But now they're saying that they do not have the compressor in stock and they will change the appliance. Again as I do not have another option I said “ok let's do it.”

Now the drama start: they are saying I need to pay 20% as a depreciation of the total cost of the refrigerator + INR 1000/- (Cartage) + difference of the new refrigerator which comes to around INR 21,000/-. Well can someone tell me why I need to pay this huge amount when my appliance is still in 10 years of warranty and it's just compressor problem and rest of the product is just fine. After fighting with them come to a conclusion that I need pay INR 10,200/- and I will get the new appliance.

Now when I already paid the DEMAND DRAFT (DD) of this amount now no one is responding to me on when I will be getting a delivery of the new Refrigerator. Only God knows when I will be getting this. In this HOT summer we are facing a lot of issues just because of their bad service. No one from Customer Care is giving me any response nor are they taking my calls now.

Now can someone tell me what I should do? I am left with no option and thinking of taking a legal action against them and thinking of launching a complaint in Consumer Court against them. Please give me your suggestions and send me your response at **. If anyone from WHIRLPOOL is look into this, please help on this matter urgently and respond me back ASAP.

Whirlpool refrigerator model GX5F-IDXVB07; S/N K23918029; 24.8 cu ft purchased for almost $2,000 on 1/7/2014. Before it was four months old I had spoken with store about it frosting up the freezer drawer several times. Finally found it wasn't level and drawer was hanging. Ok figured it was ok, even though I had other issues with it. I took the cosmetic issue of false height on door, which made it seem larger and drastically size reduced produce drawers which made it necessary it actually cut off celery two inches to fit in drawer and door nooks being so narrow that they only fit 3 small condiments in them on the left door and it's a trick to fit thing in the right, but since they are deeper can fit a little more. Ok that's my fault for not actually measuring. But who takes condiment jars shopping?

The killer is that a leak in the ice maker, let's water/ice to build up under the ice maker on floor of freezer drawer. It then freezes there and if we don't take out the drawer and remove the ice chunks by hand it thaws and runs out in the floor about once a week. The leak began to be worse in August 2014. I understand it will need repair. What makes me really upset is the refrigerator is supposedly a very good brand and I have had so many issues with it that I curse it regularly. A two thousand dollar fridge with this many issues and I am stuck with it. I guess I should have contacted company before warranty went out, but we would get it past a problem for a while, then it would come back. I am just sick that I ever bought it in the first place! I hate it and will never buy or advise anyone else to buy from Whirlpool again. Quality is awful. Looks good on surface, stinks for quality.

Bought Whirlpool French door refrigerator. Unit was defective when delivered and I told them so. That was on 06/14/2013. Unit got progressively worse and finally has quit completely. At Whirlpool's suggestion we bought a Whirlpool Repair Plan Plus One (another scam) for $300. Repairman came out and told us the refrigerator couldn't be fixed. Now Whirlpool suggests their only option is for us to buy a discounted model. This refrigerator went from bad to not working at all in less than a year and a half. Anyone that buys a Whirlpool appliance with knowledge of how they treat customers and back their products has to be a little crazy.

On 2-26-13 I received my new Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF989SDAE, KSN 4191832, 28.6 cu ft, french door for a price of $2500.00. November 2014, refrigerator stopped working. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. Appears to be related to the initial issue. I cannot trust this refrigerator and would highly advise everyone not to purchase a Whirlpool refrigerator. Refrigerator needs to be replaced, not repaired.

The exterior look of the refrigerator (WRX735SDBM00) is impressive and the stainless steel does not show finger prints easily. It has two french doors on top, a middle drawer, and the freezer drawer on the bottom. The interior is 25 cf, but there isn't much space, even with reconfiguring the shelves, and the crisper/meat drawers are so small, that a large bell pepper won't fit. When one French door is closed it pops open the other door, which then does not close back tightly. Although there is an alarm system to warn a door is open, it only works if the doors are "open" and not just cracked. We have to constantly push on both doors to be sure they are closed tightly, even after washing down the gasket to get a better seal.

I purchase two whirlpool Refrigerators one year apart for my summer camp. Two years after my first purchase the compressor went on the first one. I was told by the Whirlpool representative that because of human error sometimes these refrigerators fail. All else is perfect on the refrig but the compressor is toast and it would cost more to fix than buying a new one. $700 ++. I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE OR ANY OTHER THAT IS MADE BY PANASONIC. THEY DO NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCT AND DO NOT LAST. I will spread this to all my social media partners and hopefully none of my contacts will ever buy Whirlpool again.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2FHDXWS from Best Buy in July, 2012. I began freezing up immediately. Called Best Buy. They replaced it. Now the second one quit. Freezer doesn't work. Refrigerator motor works constantly. Called Whirlpool and was informed unit only has one year warranty. Got an estimate to repair it. Evidently, sealed unit needs to be replaced at $700. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. Will not deal with a company that will not stand by its products.

The water dispenser tube cracked and split off near the dispensing end, making the dispenser unusable. Not a consumer repair, by any means. Refrigerator is only a year old. I had a similar parts quality issue with a Whirlpool dishwasher. I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance, and will advise all to avoid as well.

I took delivery of my new Whirlpool refrigerator on Feb 26, 2015. One month later it stopped making ice. As it is under warranty I called Whirlpool for repair. As of today I have had 3 separate repair visits with sensor, circuit, and ice maker replacement (one each visit). Guess what? Still no ice. I called and spoke with a

Supervisor who says I must schedule yet another repair visit so technical support can get involved. They refuse to replace my refrigerator unless Technical support deems it "unrepairable" and I am stuck yet again taking time off work to wait for their repair person for the 4th week in a row! Obviously they don't know what's wrong with it. They're just changing one part after the next and hoping they happen to find the problem. Needless to say I am disgusted!

This refrigerator isn't even 3 months old! To make matters worse, Whirlpool continues to give me the run around, arguing their point instead of listening to me - the customer! Does customer service mean anything anymore? Not at Whirlpool evidently! Big company, big name, too big to deal with the concerns of one customer in a customer focused way! I'll be writing to their executives. Shame on you Whirlpool!

Refrigerator is only 4 years old and must be defrosted every 2 or 3 weeks as a thick sheet of ice forms in the bottom of the freezer. Also the appliance frequently emits loud cracking noises.

Just like hundreds (maybe thousands?) of others who have had the same part failure causing the refrigerator to leak, I had it and was told by my very honest, highly reputable repairman (not the one KA recommended!) that it was a DEFECT. I bought a French Door style #4609730. First, I complained on Twitter and the Social Media folks gave me the runaround. I kept it up and then, filed a complain with the Better Biz Bureau. They sent the complaint to Whirlpool, who owns KA. They gave me the runaround too - UNTIL I TOLD THEM HOW MY LOCAL TV NEWS station was interested in my story (true, I went to them too). CORPORATIONS SHOULD NOT GET AWAY WITH DIRTY BIZ TACTICS!

I paid a lot of money for this because I thought it would be high quality and last for quite a while without problems. First of all, you HAVE to open the right door before the left door and then remember to ALWAYS close the left door first and then the right door. If you don't the doors don't close well and your refrigerator gets hot AND THERE IS NO BUZZER OR ALARM TO TELL YOU THE DOORS AREN'T CLOSED. After 2 years the freezer repeatedly freezes up and then the refrigerator heats up. My repairman says the controls on this refrigerator are WAY odd and instead of just buying an inexpensive part (defrost timer for example for $50) he need to order the entire control for probably 3 time more. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR TROUBLE. BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHIRLPOOL GOLD.

Purchased not yet two years ago. I hate it. The ice dispenser always jams. Choose cubes but what comes are a few cubes and rest crushed. Three weeks ago I had no ice. Repairman came and the ice maker was broken. Replaced that. One week later no ice again. Repairman came back. Ice maker was full of ice. Pulled all out and found the water valve was broke. I call Whirlpool and they want to sell extended warranty for $400 and I had to get that price within 24 hours. I have spent near that in repairs already. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL!

Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 cu.ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... Puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool Refrig. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going down hill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the refrig. up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so.

Denver's customer service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore. I gave up on them and don't expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer. Besides, I had an older Whirlpool refrig. that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP. When I tried to upgrade the old refrig. - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

Greetings: I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on July 3, 2014. And the supports for the door to open and closed have grinded and worn out - not allowing the door to close properly, requiring being lifted up, and pushed close as much as possible. Not the quality I expected with the purchase of a Whirlpool product. I want this door repaired or replaced at the expense of Whirlpool. Having paid over $600.00 for the product, I didn't expect no problems like this at all, poor design. The weight of the door is too heavy to support a hinge mount in plastic, its ridiculous. Now cooling is being wasted, runs constantly, and just not the quality I expected nor received.

We bought this Gold series refrigerator in 2013.. Less than a year we started having problems with rust on doors. It was so embarrassing people could see this. After that it was like one part after another, the motherboard, the ice on fridge, the ice maker. They changed the same part several times. Now April 2015 they say vapor cooling is not good and they have to put coolant and replace another kit.. Now we have to wait 1 week for that part. Meanwhile our food is going to go bad.

I've been calling for years about this lemon of a fridge. And the last time I spoke to somebody they say "buy another fridge" while you're waiting on the part to come out. Wow. This is literally driving my family insane.. I can't believe they just expect us to let this happen.. We paid about 2,500 for this lemon of a fridge.. I see so many complaints and you're telling me Whirlpool can get away with this.

I bought a complete kitchen set of the Whirlpool Gold Series Appliance from Brand-Smart in 2/2013. The first problem I had was the compressor on the refrigerator. It started making a noise & stopped cooling in 04/2014. I called Whirlpool and they said there was only a year warranty on parts and service. I was not notified that I could get an ext. warranty. Therefore I will have to pay for the repair. I called a service tech out and he said I needed a new compressor, total cost 255.00. Then in 11/2014 it started making the same noise & stopped cooling another $255.00. Now it's doing the same thing. It needs another compressor, will cost me $255.00 more! A total of $765.00!! And I have only had the refrigerator 2 years 2/2015.

Do not bother purchasing Whirlpool refrigerators. Bought mine new in November. The paint on the exterior has been chipping. They inform me that it's a cosmetic issue and that they are not going to repair it. They told me to use touch up paint. The paint has chipped more than once and I'm afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue. It's obviously a product defect (my last fridge lasted 27 years without incident). I don't do business with companies who don't stand behind the products they manufacture. These days it's all about "get their money" and "the hell with them once we do." Last time I purchase anything Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50's, 60's, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, I'll get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

I live by myself and purchased this Whirlpool french door style refrigerator on March 20 2014. It has been today 13 months and 2 days since the purchase. A few days ago I tried to remove with my fingernail something from the edge of the door which looked like food and to my surprise the thing became bigger, the paint was coming off. I have seen old refrigerators with rust spots but I’m talking about 10+ years refrigerators. It is heartbreaking to hear the stories of US companies going out of business because a foreign brand took their market share (sounds familiar). Poor quality engineering, craftsmanship and customer service are very likely the reason for these events. Sorry Whirlpool but next refrigerator will very likely be anything but your brand. I might even be able to get 10 years or 100,000 miles warranty from your Korean competitors. Thank you for a lousy product and an even worse customer service.

Whatever you do, don't ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature.

Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still don't have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, don't waste your money with this company.

We purchased our Whirlpool Gold series, french door refrigerator 22 months ago. The freezer and ice maker has stopped working. We had one repairman come out already and he couldn't fix it. We have another one coming in 2 days. I am very disappointed with the Whirlpool brand. I also bought a microwave, 2 wall ovens, and a dishwasher at the same time. The microwave makes a clicking noise every time you use it.
