This site is a total rip off… They don’t even have a phone to contact a person. They have some fake customer service email robots who just email you the same thing. Be aware they won’t help you if you have any issues.

I purchased the VT-DS300SS-2Z Vinotemp 300 bottle wine cooler through COSTCO in May of 2019. In May of 2022, (two weeks before my COSTCO VISA extended warranty expired) it stopped cooling. First visit by the Vinotemp Authorized repair service company diagnosed a broken compressor fan. $520 to fix that. No luck, turns out it was the sealed compressor system that uses Butane instead of FREON. Not repairable as Butane is flammable.

If I had not bought using my COSTCO Citi Visa card I would have been out $2100 as it was out of warranty. COSTCO Citi VISA first reimbursed me for the initial repair, then when it was determined to be unrepairable they refunded the remainder of my purchase price. Why so much detail? First dying after three years on a $2000 wine cooler is completely unacceptable. DO NOT BUY, I did read some reviews about early failures before buying. Vinotemp makes unrepairable junk. Buy at your own risk, BUT if you do, make sure you get the extended warranty or buy with a credit card that has that as a benefit.

I tried to do the right thing and buy American made. Unfortunately the quality is poor as I started having electronic problems within the first year. Even worst, their service department is terrible so now I am stuck with a unit where I can't change temperature. I guess I'm lucky that it still cools.

GARBAGE COMPANY!! GARBAGE COMPANY!!! I spent $2700 on a 4-bottle unit for a client that seemed ok through the Best Buy website then purchased the 2-bottle unit for myself directly from Vinotemp for $1300. The unit I received was damaged; crushed top corner though the packaging was completely intact so it was shipped to me this way. The door is also mis-aligned, there are liquid splash stains on the side of the unit and the door edge is not straight as if someone has shaved the edge with a knife, the edge you open with your hand so you feel the sharpness and unevenness. It's very obviously a used, damaged, repackaged unit and the company will not respond or replace the unit. I sent them photos they requested of the packaging and damage IMMEDIATELY (within 2 hours of receiving the delivery) and have gotten NO response in over a week now! They didn't include an invoice in either shipment either. GARBAGE COMPANY!!!

I had a Vinotemp VT-52SN, a 52 bottle under cabinet unit. When it failed, I called Vinotemp and they suggested replacing the compressor. They charged me $360. When it arrived, I saw that it needed professional installation. The first certified appliance repair tech refused to even come out to look at it, saying the unit would be too expensive and finicky to repair. The second company told me that time consuming diagnostics would be required (and it could not even be the compressor that needs replacing) and that because of the way the unit it built, some repairs are impossible during to how difficult the unit is to work on.

Hé suggested just burning a new wine cooler. When I called Vinotemp to return the compressor, they said they do not accept returns, and then when I looked up the price of the compressor on eBay, I saw that I could have purchase on of the Chinese-made units for $75 instead of $360. (I ended up selling my $360 compressor for $56 on eBay and throwing the VinoTemp cooler away).

Had my expensive wine fridge delivered. Told I would get "white glove" service. Fridge came and had a dent in the back. Didn't send it back because I'd already waited so long to get it and figured I would get a reasonable amount of compensation back from the company. The fridge was not going to fit in my doorway so I asked the guy if he could take off the door which would give us the extra inch we needed. He did so, but broke the electric connection which we didn't know until it was inside the house. He obviously didn't know anything about these fridges which have electronics inside the door.

Once inside the house, when we plugged it in, it didn't work and so I asked them to take it back which they refused to do. Instead, the delivery truck driver who again doesn't know anything about these fridges decided to try and fix it which he may or may not have done completely, but it seems to be working for now. Vinotemp offered me $50 for the ding which if I try and sell the fridge is not nearly adequate compensation and when I asked them to have a technician come out to verify that the unit was "fixed" properly by the DRIVER, they refused. I'd definitely look elsewhere for a wine fridge than these guys.

For the Dec holidays with the pandemic our family decided to replace an older Vinotemp VT-58 unit in our kitchen with a new model El 54SBB as a practical gift. It came just before the new year but we noticed an issue immediately. Unlike our older VT-58 model (no issues or problems in ten years which came with our house) the new model though looking great sounded like it was having an issue. We purchased directly with Vinotemp based upon our previous experience with the older unit. A very noticeable groaning/moan would occur every time the fridge processed freon to meet/keep temperature. The follow up process started immediately with the company with calls, emails in early January. This continued for over two months with dozen of emails and calls.

Emails were detailed with photos, decibel readings and actual recorded audio clips of the issue. We felt we met our end as a customer and frankly did a lot of heavy lifting with Vinotemp in the resolution of this matter. Our expectation was as we purchased directly from a Vinotemp to support a company during a pandemic the company would meet our request to resolve the matter. In the end, we were told that it was their discretion whether a refund or a new unit would be sufficient and if we thought there was a problem it would be our responsibility to ship it back to them. Just hard to put our hands around and disappointing after so much detailed follow up.

The unit (El 54SBB) is still in the kitchen groaning away repeatedly and can be heard up to 40 ft away and in other rooms. With the pandemic ending, we'll just unplug it when friends and family finally come over to not embarrass ourselves or distract from conversation. When a company reiterates its purchase agreement regarding a piece of equipment after such considerable follow up, just food for thought about making that decision on a purchase. Our family will not go down that route again and will not be doing so.

I purchased my Vinotemp 15" x 24" x 34" in 2007. I have been completely unsatisfied for 14 years. The inside back of the refrigerator is chipping & I'm not sure why. I called the company and they didn't want to hear anything about my problem. I don't like the fact that the customer service department is not only rude, but not very helpful. I also don't like the fact that I only have one temperature setting since I use it for both reds & whites. I'm ready to buy a new wine refrigerator and I will not be buying a Vinotemp. I realized how helpful the reviews are and felt compelled to post this one. Stay away from Vinotemp.

Cooling units (1500 and 2500 series) usually fail after a few years, and Vinotemp customer service is no help at all--inattentive, send you canned e-mails suggesting 'fixes' (e.g. cleaning cooling coils) that you've already told them you've tried, or telling you the ambient temp is too high when their sales literature says it can handle it (my ambient is about 78F). They seem to try very hard to put you off, as if you're an annoyance, by delaying responses and sending further e-mails requesting more information or suggesting those things you've already tried. Once you *do* get their attention, repairs are expensive and slow, as in months. This obviously doesn't work when your wine collection is at risk from high temperatures. I recommend avoiding Vinotemp like the plague.

This model has been nothing but trouble. I have had the power relay go out on both my units. We are now on our third relay for one unit. I believe there is a design flaw based on the fact it keeps blowing out. The compressor works but no cooling. I have had to hire refrigeration experts that replace the relay so I know it being done right. I would avoid Vinotemp unless they provide longer warranty or try a different provider.
