    Safe Step's rep, Forrest, was charming, very thorough, and we clicked very well. I also liked the plan and what he had to say. I'm 85 and physically, the bones hurt a lot. And he was younger than me, but nevertheless, he related. It was a very pleasant encounter with him and I made the decision to go ahead with Safe Step. The installation was very thorough as well. The installers were here on time and it just so happened the two young men who did the installation lived in my neighborhood. They were very pleasant and followed through without a problem. They ran into a little bit of an issue, which wasn't their fault. This is an older home and the tub that was in this house was steel. In order to get it out, they had to cut it in half lengthwise, which is not normal for the newer tubs. But they accomplished that and when they got everything in, it was all fine.

    The toilet installation was a little bit of a different story, but it was not their fault either. When they took the old toilet out, the ring on the floor broke. So, before the new toilet could get installed, they advised me that I would have to get somebody to get a new ring. And it was also plugged up, so it needed to be snaked. So, we got it all done and I had my handyman around to take care of that.

    However, when my handy guys were installing the toilet, they broke the tank and put a crack in it. So, I reached out and long story short, one of the young men had a friend who had a toilet that would fit. However, the tank was too big and it really didn't fit in the spot very well. So, I got ahold of my sales rep and asked him by chance if I could buy another toilet from them or even just the tank. He said that wouldn't be necessary and that they would send another toilet. However, that's been over a month ago and I have not received it yet. I'm going to give him a call and I'm quite sure that if I did, he will take care of it.

    Other than that, the tub is beautiful and has all the bells and whistles. And because of the issue with the toilet that the young men couldn't complete, three days after the installation, I decided to bite the bullet and use the tub. I live by myself, so it was a little daunting. But I got into the tub and I turned on the water. The water started coming into the tub and all of a sudden, I looked over the side and realized that water was escaping on to the floor. That was about 8:30 in the evening and I couldn't find the button to turn the water off. It was a nightmare. Finally, I was able to get the water turned off somehow, but then I had to get out of the tub. I was afraid to open the door because the water was still escaping. So, I somehow climbed over the tub and I was very afraid of falling. But I got out, and the water had stopped and drained. It all drained out on to the floor going into my dining room, so I spent the next hour mopping up water.

    I called the salesperson and one of the fellows that did the installation came back. And the problem was I had not shut the door tight enough. So, it was operator error. However, because of the toilet issue, the installer didn't really have an opportunity to properly walk me through the operation of the tub. So, at that time, he went ahead and did that. Now I know how everything works. There's a lot of paperwork and and it wasn't easy for me, but that wasn't anybody else's fault except mine. So, otherwise, everything's fine, except that I still don't have a toilet.

    So far, I like the ability for the jets to operate and help me feel relaxed in the tub. Also, I have a dear friend in California who called and I told him that I was getting a walk-in tub. He said that they also got a Safe Step several years ago and they love it. So, that made me feel better too. All in all, the tub adds to my comfort in living in my home.

      I'm 75 and I realized bathtubs are really dangerous places for someone who's getting older and a little bit less mobile. I realized that Safe Step was the product that provided all those amenities of a safe tub and a safe bathing experience. It was the first thing I considered when I bought this house last year. If I'm going to live on this planet for more years, I need more things that are helpful for me to get around and to minimize any types of safety issues. The installation went very quickly and very easily, which I was surprised at because I thought there was a lot of intricate things that were going to take a lot of time, but the installer that came was quite adept, trained, and knew what he was doing and everything was done within the day. That was amazing.

      The product is what I expected. I expected something that was user-friendly and there are more bells and whistles on this unit than I even dreamed of. The added benefit of that little well where you can put some aroma therapy in and it gets distributed during the bathing process is phenomenal. Also, the use of light does have a tremendous effect upon the senses. I have a doctorate in education and psychology specifically, and I'm very much into those things that affect our mind, body, and spirit. My favorite is the intense whirlpool effect of the massage water, which helps my legs. I have somewhat diminished circulation in my legs due to a medical condition and that helps stimulate and it just feels good. When it was demonstrated to me by the salesperson that came in that there's light, aroma, and massage therapy, that was a very positive selling point.

      The company thought of all the possible combinations of a bathing experience, from the typical being submerged in water, a movable showerhead, a handheld one to all of these details that make it so much easier. Maybe I don't want to take a bath. Maybe I want to just take a nice, stimulating shower and I can do that. I can do all these possibilities. I used to have a big problem with the water setting in my regular shower but with the unit here, it regulates the temperature and it will do it for you to avoid any surges or that sense of, “Oh, what was that?” All of these other details were thoughtfully put into this unit.

      I have to admit, the unit was a bit more than I thought it would cost, but then when I thought about it, I recognized that whatever years I have left, I don't want them to be with this anxiety over keeping clean and practicing good hygiene. I don't want to compromise that with the fact of worrying about whether I can get in and out of a tub. I'm more concerned with just doing what I need to do to stay healthy and clean. I can take a safe bath, shower, and I can maintain my personal hygiene at a high level so I don't have to worry about any of that kind of social offensiveness, which to me, is a big deal.

      The sales representative from Safe Step was approachable and easy to talk to, which I appreciated. He came prepared with both a tablet and a book for the presentation, and he used the tablet mostly.

      The installation crew arrived at around 10 AM and finished by 5:40 PM, which impressed us with their punctuality and professionalism. Having worked in the telephone industry for over 40 years, I've encountered many service professionals, and these installers were some of the best in terms of efficiency and courtesy.

      While I don't use the tub often, my wife loves it. I do find it a bit small for my comfort, making it difficult to turn around. Plus, I'm used to sitting on the side of the tub to put on socks and shoes, which isn't possible with this setup. It functions well as a shower, but I don't need many of the extra features.

      In terms of price, I feel it's a bit high for what you get, especially if you're used to a standard shower. We haven't had others, like our grandkids, try it yet, but that's not a priority for us.

      Overall, I'd rate Safe Step a 4. The installation and presentation were top-notch but the price was a bit steep, so I would give it a 2 on that front. We heard about Safe Step from a friend of my wife and now, my wife has already recommended Safe Step to friends.

      I've been considering such a tub because decades ago, I had a severe fall that left me with significant right foot and ankle issues. I've dealt with deteriorated bones and poor circulation, so choosing Safe Step was about finding relief. The sales representative was thorough and introduced me to the micro bubble and wider tub options, which cater to these specific problems.

      On installation day, the team efficiently removed my old jetted tub. Being from a construction background, I appreciated their excellent work, completing the installation in just one day. Throughout the process, they kept me informed, especially when decisions required my attention.

      Using the tub has been transformative. I suffer from dark brown dead skin due to lack of circulation, particularly on my right foot. While I'm unsure if the hydrotherapy or the micro bubble is more effective in removing the dead skin, I definitely notice improved circulation. I use the tub's features, particularly enjoying the switch from leg to back hydrotherapy and the handheld shower.       I recently purchased a Safe Step walk-in tub, and I am really pleased with it. I initially heard about Safe Step from my mother, and I had seen advertisements in magazines and on television as well. The sales representative was very helpful, answering all of our questions and providing informative pamphlets. We did encounter a minor issue with the tub at first, but it was quickly resolved without any complications.

      My 79 year old father had one of these Safe Step Tubs installed in his house and while he did like it he always complain he was always too cold when using it. After initially seeing it I thought the workmanship on the install was pretty lackluster for what he paid for this thing (The caulking work alone was pretty bad, I'd expect higher quality work for the price point.) but I didn't say anything at the time because he seemed to enjoy the tub. Little did I know what a nightmare this tub was going to be....

      After he passed away I bought the house and the first time I tried this tub myself as a shower I learned it wasn't installed level so any water that hit the back wall would run right off the side onto the floor. (Installing a curved shower rod after the first time easily fixed that problem.) Next I tried to use the actual tub and while sitting in this thing for 15 minutes waiting for it to fill up I ran out of hot water. (I specifically remember the salesman telling my dad his water heater had plenty of capacity (what a blatant lie). Then winter rolls around and the whole bathroom is incredibly cold... come to find out the installers removed all of the insulation from an outside wall below the tub, pulled back all the blown in insulation out of the attic to run the electrical and didn't bother to put it back in place, as well as removing the insulation and vapor barrier in the crawlspace basement to run plumbing and they just left it bare open to the crawlspace.

      The worst problem was they removed the toilet to install the tub and must not have even have bothered to put on a new wax ring on because the toilet leaked for two years and ended up rotting out the plywood floor plus the underlying sub floor. Some other things to mention about this tub... Taking an actual shower in this tub is challenging because there is hardly any room to stand.. plus you are constantly stepping in or on the drain. Cleaning this tub is also frustrating because you can't clean half of it from the outside because the door swings in blocking half of the tub, and trying to clean it while in it is impossible because there is no room to bend over. The bottom of the door which you can hardly reach because of the spacing is constantly moldy too. I'm glad my dad enjoyed the tub but I'm also glad he passed away before having to deal with any of the problems this company caused. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this brand/company.

      This company has very low integrity. They handled our purchase unethically and were manipulative with their return policy. We ordered a tub of certain dimensions; what we received was not even close. They have a 3-day return policy. On day 1, after receiving the wrong product, we notified them by phone, provided specific details to the lady we spoke with, and were informed that they would get back to us with return instructions. 5 days later, after constantly calling them, we were told that our 3 days had passed and we could not return the product that cost over $7000 dollars. This was a shock. Our mother, who is elderly in her 70s, made this purchase as she endeavored to have her dream bathroom. We are in such disbelief that a company could be so ruthless, insensitive, dishonorable, manipulative, and greedy. Speechless...
