Me and my wife bought a Maytag washer and dryer combo in November 2023. Everything has been working fine to this point. Today my wife called in into the laundry room to look at our year and half old washing machine. As you will see in the pictures, both lower corners of the lid are cracked and falling apart. It's a part that that I should never have to worry about. All we do with it is open and close it! Called Maytag and spoke to (8) different representatives to find out their (10) warranty, which was the ONLY reason we bought it, only covers the "expensive" parts.

They did have (2) WONDERFUL options for me however, spend $380 for a (1) time "on-site" fix or spend $40 a month to get a D&G warranty. There is a 3rd option, buy a WHOLE new lid for $232.87, install it myself, and hope their poorly designed lid doesn't break on me again! I am going with option #4 though, I'm going to do nothing, let people see what type of product Maytag produce's and when it's time for a NEW washer and Dyer, you can guarantee it WILL NOT Maytag's name on it.

I have had 2 Maytag washers. The first one about 6 yrs old and the water inlet valve went out. I replaced myself. Now my new machine 13 months old the water inlet valve keeps running and I scheduled service only to find out it would be over 300 dollars. They use faulty parts and they have to know it. Ten yr warranty only the motor. What a load of crap. I bet the motor is best quality everything else crap.

I hate both my washer and dryer from Maytag. They have a nice look, but they both have their issues. The washer doesn’t fully cover the clothes with water during the wash cycle, leaving parts of the clothes completely dry. I always have to rewash. The dryer doesn’t dry towels. I normally have to dry them 2-3 times to get them full dry. So much for energy efficiency. I purchased the pair 2 years ago. I am seriously thinking about donating this pair and buy another washer and dryer that actually works. The lock on the washer is annoying. Maytag used to be a reputable brand. I thought I was buying the best. Total disappointment.

Wouldn't have another piece of junk like this one.. It's been making rough sounds since day one.. Tub hub has stripped out on year 2.. Had to replace myself, now year 4 suspension rods are bad, having to do myself.. I paid lil over 700 bucks for machine at Lowe's.. I should have added a lil more and bought a Speed Queen.

Purchased the Maytag MDB4949SKZ3 dishwasher March 2024. Seven or eight months later the problems started. We contacted Maytag customer service and were turned away because we did not purchase a warranty. The ten year Warranty plackard adhered to the door is a scam and provides the consumer nothing. These dishwashers have a design flaw with the water circulation and drain pumps which results in premature failure and the circulation pump which houses the filter is not designed to be serviced and changed. Failure of the units sets a computer trouble code causing the dishwasher to shut down and no longer funtion. You end up paying labor and parts charges for an appliance used one year or less. I recommend everyone avoid buying these products.

These new Maytag washers are absolute junk. You can’t pour any liquid detergent or vinegar in it because they just drain away. There is no pre-soak setting. You wait until it has water in it and pause it to add your liquid and then it will not restart. The light just keeps blinking and the door won’t lock. If you hit the power button to try to force it to do something it drains and you lose what you just poured in there. It takes 2 hours to wash a load. How is this more efficient? This was an extreme waste of money.

Maytag front loader poor design! The filter is at the front of the washing machine behind the front cover and you need to take the top and the front cover off to get to it. They should have put a service hatch at the front of the machine. I feel sorry for people that are not good on tools that can fix this issue themselves otherwise it's a lot of call out charges.

My husband purchase me a Maytag MHW5500FW1 washer and dryer front load set about six years ago. They have replaced so many parts on it! Now the main board has been bad for five months I can only wash on one cycle and have been told Maytag is no longer making the part that they need to fix my machine. I have had nothing but trouble since day 1 and have spent more than what I paid for it in repairs. Beware. There is a clean out that needs to be cleaned regularly that clogs easily so check your pockets before washing anything. It is located in the rear of the machine.

We have to pull it out which is no easy task as it is heavy because we splurged for the storage underneath. This takes the technician about an hour and has been done sometimes twice in a week. My husband has done it but he needs another person to help move the machine. My clothes have gotten locked inside as the door lock mechanism has broken, Now lets talk about the mold. I use the correct detergent and follow the cleaning protocol in the manufactures book and there is mold in the soap dispenser, on the rubber gaskets and around the drum.

      Reliability

Purchased dryer 2 years ago and recently started hearing loud clunking noise when using. Service repair discovered a manufacturing defect which was ripping the belt as it rotated over it. Since it's over 1 year of purchase despite the fact I didn't have any knowledge of the defect until now due to the noise Maytag is refusing to replace the dryer or defective area. I'll never buy Maytag again. Don't waste your money.
