I had an existing company and service provider. But I wasn't happy with them. They have been constantly increasing prices as well as not giving the service. I switched to Liberty. Liberty's price is way better than theirs. For the home insurance, for every visit, you have to pay a certain deductible. Liberty had this offer, a five-year constant price, no increments, no increases, and then their per-visit charge was way lower.

The initial signing up was smooth. Although, it was intense. There was a little bit of pressure selling. They were constantly calling and texting. Then, that was like a time-bound price tactic, if you do it within 24 hours, you get this discount. But then I got to know that's pretty much the same almost all the time. But other than that, their price is attractive. The biggest advantage, they allow you to choose your own service provider as long as they registered a license, then they work it out with them.

I used them once for a dishwasher claim. They're way prompter than my previous service provider. The tech was sent almost the next day and then the person fixed it. In terms of their network of service providers, I felt comfortable and they were very interactive. They asked me several times after that, "How did it go?" The customer service, overall, was helpful and satisfactory. However, their website is not as interactive or as helpful as the other company. It is nice, primitive, and simple and they give very little information. So most of the time, you have to call and figure it out.

I really liked what the rep had to say and their pricing. I also liked the customer service aspect and how he dealt with me. I also liked that I could use a contractor they set forth or my own contractor. I asked the rep about a longer plan and he said they didn't do those. But he called me back and said that he brought it up to his superior and they decided to make the plan a little longer for us. We were happy about that. That way, we didn't have to worry about it year after year.

Submitting a claim was really easy. I just gave the rep my information and someone got in touch with me that day and set up an appointment. I was very pleased with both the tech for the washing machine and the one for the plumbing issue. The plumber even asked if they could check to make sure there was no issue with something else. He checked for a leak and but he couldn't find one. It was very good that he did that. I was very happy.

So in general my experience has been overall positive with them. I’ve submitted 5 claims and 3 of which were fully covered, 1 was partially covered, and 1 was not covered. Also, only one of those 5 claims took longer than a month to close, but that was partially my fault as I had to travel for work a bunch while it was going on. That all said, I would normally give them 3-4 stars but my most recent claim really blew me away.

Michelle on their team was super helpful and polite and was patient with me the entire time I spoke with her on the phone, explaining how I did not want this claim to be delayed like my last one. She assured me that they would process everything quickly and do their utmost to maximize coverage. She came through, they replaced my refrigerator and saved me $900 on it, and the whole process, end-to-end took 9 days. While, I’m glad I have this warranty and the savings, I’m glad they have stand up people like Michelle in their operation and that is why I’m writing this review.

Whenever a covered appliance or one of my systems breaks or gives me grief, Liberty Home Guard has made themselves available and have been ready to jump in and take the workload of handling it off my shoulders. All their contractors that they use seem to be well trained and come prepared. Out of 3 claims, only one needed a second visit from the contractor to fully resolve the issue and still that one was done within the same week. In the past when I’ve called my own contractors for similar jobs like repairing my AC, they’ve needed 2-3 visits and I would almost always have much more difficulty in setting an appointment on short notice.

Liberty also gets really good prices from them that they extend to their customers, which I definitely appreciate. My only, slight constructive criticism was that my second claim was not covered. But even in that scenario they saved me $200. All in, for a $600 one year coverage term, I’ve already made my money back and truly think it is a great deal.

The last three years have been cost-effective and a value-add thanks to Liberty. When we originally bought our house and were on a budget and wanted to be smart about how we went about carrying costs for our home. We were apprehensive but decided to give them a chance. I was ok with things maybe taking longer because it is a warranty company, as long as the savings were there which was our priority.

While at the beginning of our tenure with Liberty, their service was slower, they’ve always stepped up and covered claims without fear or issue and saved us a ton. I’m also happy to say that the last year claims have gone much more quickly, which I think is because of their fantastic customer portal. When on average in the first year it would take around 3 weeks for them to close a claim, now they have handled each of my four claims over the past year within 5-7 days. Even with the delays of the first year, without a doubt, their services are worth every penny as they’ve saved us thousands.

Liberty Home Guard proved their excellence a second time when my washing machine started leaking when I’d use it. Their home warranty has been a lifesaver for our family 3 years running. Over multiple claims and years, we’ve worked with Abigail on the Liberty Home Guard team, and she was an amazing help. Every time they use skilled technicians, who are very respectful, and clean. The repair in this instance for my washing machine was complicated, he took pretty much the entire thing apart, but in the end he fixed it! Thanks to Liberty Home Guard, my washing machine is back to working perfectly, and the entire cost was paid for by them. Thank you!

I have had two issues over my 1 year of warranty and they have responded quickly and professionally. My issue is that their policy is written specifically to not cover installation of parts. Clause H.1.P says they do not cover: "p) Installation of parts of or the entirety of systems, appliances, and/or optional add-ons." So, when my refrigerator needed a part replaced, they paid for about 1/2 of the cost (the parts) and I paid for 1/2 (labor). So, beware when you buy this you will still be on the hook for 1/2 of most repairs.

Paid $700 for a full year of Total Home Guard. Unexpectedly, one of my AC units broke down. Filed a claim and paid the $125 to get a technician over. Found that the compressor in the condenser failed, but the entire condenser would need to be replaced. The technician was courteous, knowledgeable. About a week later, I get an email from the Resolutions Department that the total cost would be over $5k and Liberty Home Guard would contribute $500 towards it. The "book value" of my AC was $0 because it's old. They don't cover the cost of installation for new equipment (anything that requires equipment like a crane, etc.). I didn't realize that I was going to have to be in a situation where this company was going to find every possible way to not cover a claim. I asked to cancel the policy and provide a refund and was told that they would submit my request to cancel. What?

Today (9/14/23), I get a call from a retention specialist who offers me an additional $200 to the $500 they would contribute. I declined and asked to move forward with the cancellation. He finally agreed and said that he would submit the request to underwriting where they will prorate the month that I was a member plus an additional $50 from the total $700 I paid.

This is a losing bet. This policy is suitable for new homes, but if you have a new home, you won't have breakdowns and most likely your warranties on the appliances will already be covered. I made an expensive mistake with Liberty Home Guard. I advise you to review any policy they propose before signing up. If your home is over 15 years old, I don't believe there's value with this company.

I have had a home warranty with Liberty Home Guard for two years now. In that time, we have had three claims: one for a microwave, and twice for our dishwasher. The first claim for the dishwasher was a very simple parts replacement (basket that plastic snapped on), but was still somewhat painful with several delays. The claim for the microwave went relatively smoothly, but now the third claim, again for our dishwasher, has been a disaster. It has now been two weeks since the technician originally visited our home and recommended replacing the pump assembly. Despite more than five phone calls and sending several messages through both their online form and chat, I have received no response. The app just says that our claim is under review.

I have twice been told by phone that I will be sent replacement and repair options within 24 hours. The last time I was told this was 1 week ago and we are still waiting. Think twice before doing business with this company. I know from reading the reviews that customers’ experience is variable, but be warned that my very recent experience has been extremely disappointing.

I submitted a claim on Aug 13 because my water heater was out. I have a small child so imagine my concern. I didn’t get a “solution” until Aug 24. I have attempted to call and email the 9 times to have the water heater purchased and delivered. However, I have not heard back and every time I call and ask for a manager I’m told no one is available AND they will call me back. This has not happened. I’ve been told they don’t have my email. Yet I have gotten emails, texts, and calls initially.

Today I was told my water heat is no longer available at Home Depot. Now it’s much more expensive. If they had ordered it when I asked it would have been available. Unfortunately, they didn’t and now want me to spend so much more money for it. Customer service is a joke. And they don’t respond to emails or anything. I do not recommend this company. Seems like a huge scam.
