Purchased an LG from Costco. It came with a broken shelf on the right door. Contacted LG and they sent a repair company & they brought a new door. After they left, noticed the left door had a dent in it. It could only be the crew that installed the new right door. Contacted LG soon after....crickets. They have still not responded...

LG refrigerator - would give this product zero stars if could. Like many many others, my two brand new fridges (both LG) suddenly stopped working after 4 yrs. I notice a class action lawsuit had been filed - with a submission date of October 2024 (it is now February 2026), so I am unable to hope on that bandwagon! I have lost over $1000 worth of meat/dairy etc. and spent $600 having one fridge's computer board replaced. The second fridge was taken to the dump!

Nearly $4000 on two fridges, plus $1000 food waste plus $600 repair that didn't work. Now I have to purchase 2 replacement fridges. LG's solution? Pay an additional $499 plus tax for a one time repair that includes parts and labour! After reading additional post repair reviews - I will not be doing this - I will use this money instead to purchase a NON-LG fridge. Save yourself the frustration and extra costs and bug anything other than an LG!!!

I have not had a refrigerator since January 3, 2026. They have sent 4 repairmen and it's still not fixed. They never sent the same person. They offered me a refund due to compressor and the repairmen said it was working but it still don't get cold. But we left the house and when we got home the house was full of freon odor. Had to open doors and windows. It is now the end of February and it still don't run. But they want me to pay them when it's still under warranty. I don't think so. They can come get it. I had to put it outside. Done with LG. I went and bought a new one that actually works and is not LG. And this is not the first time I have had trouble. It's French door. Very disappointed. Under warranty. Now they are calling me wanting me to pay them 400+. I don't think so.

I bought a LG French door refrigerator and was so excited about it, love the design and look. However, the first problem started almost immediately by freezing food in the long crisper drawer. It then began making a horrible humming/grinding noise every few days. I called LG and was told to watch a YouTube video and reset the refrigerator and to wrap food I put in the crisper. Ridiculous!! A brand new refrigerator??

I have since spoken to LG at least 7 times where they promise to send a service tech to check the problem within 48 hours but I have yet to see anyone and this has been going on for 6 weeks. Meanwhile water bottles freeze in the crisper drawer and the humming/grinding noise is getting worse!! The refrigerator settings are the recommended settings. It’s obvious that LG does not stand behind their product. I’m so disappointed, I waited a long time for a new French door refrigerator and saved up for it. Do not buy a LG refrigerator, if you have a problem they will not stand behind their product.

Customer service reps just read a script, spent hours trying to get someone with a little bit of knowledge to help me, no luck. I finally had to call a local repairman and pay out of pocket.

Refrigerator delivered Feb 2017, compressor failed September 2023 and replaced at $400+ for labor only not part, failed again February 2026. We have to pay labor again. $400+now waiting for call to schedule repair. Will never buy LG refrigerator again. Married 57+ years. Owned several brands over those years; never never had compressor fail. Some owned for 20+ years and still worked.

I bought my LG expecting it to be a great product, but it became a nightmare in my house. After five years it started to cause major problems. The compressors went down then the ice-maker started leaking the motherboard, and it’s like one thing after the other. I never expected a refrigerator for this price points for it not to last more than five years. I feel LG should be buying everyone a new refrigerator. They knew that this refrigerator was a lemon when they put it on the floor for it to go out to homes. No one is in the business of buying one refrigerator after another. And now that I’m out looking for a new refrigerator I guaranteed you. It won’t be an LG never again.

Just don't get a LG. It hasn't worked right since we got it and it's going to cost out of pocket to fix. It's only been 6 months. They really don't make things like they used to. Calling LG is only confirming that they do not care about your business. Will never buy LG again.

I bought an LG LMXC23746S Refrigerator in December 2015 for about $3,200 from Home Depot. I liked this model because it has the center drawer and my neighbor have bought the same model a few weeks prior. About 3 years later it stopped getting cold. I called LG and found out they had a recall on their "sealed" compressor and it likely needed to be replaced. BTW, my neighbor had the same problem a couple months later with his. Anyway, we contacted LG and complained about our problem and they sent out a repair guy to replace the compressor. They said the compressor had a ten year warranty. They also sent us a check to cover all the spoiled food we had lost. It seemed like they were standing behind their product.

Fast forward to today. We had a repair guy out to see why the fridge isn't getting cold, again. We're told that the compressor is bad and needs replacing. So I call LG and am told, "We're sorry but the refrigerator is out of warranty". I replied that I had purchased it exactly 10 years in 2 months ago, and that the compressor had been replaced less than 8 years ago. They said again, "the refrigerator is out of warranty and there is nothing we can do". That's not standing behind your product in my mind. The estimate to replace the compressor is between $800 and $1,000. My recommendation, do not buy a refrigerator from LG.

      Maintenance

      Reviewed Jan. 19, 2026

I purchased a full kitchen suite (fridge, dishwasher, range and microwave) six years ago. I have had the range replaced (extended warranty) a year ago when it didn’t work for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year) and it’s currently not working, since Thanksgiving, today is 1/19/26. The refrigerator has been replaced twice, once under warranty and once with extended warranty. The dishwasher was replaced 6 months ago and I refused to get another LG. So when it comes to dependability, LG HAS NONE. If you gave me a set today, I would sell them and take the money to buy something that might work.
