I have an LG LUU360HHV Heat pump just over two years old. Has a defective compressor that sounds like an airplane taking off. So loud it is disrupting my sleep. My HVAC tech waited 2 hours on two separate occasions to do diagnostics on it to be able to say it qualifies for warranty replacement. My HVAC tech complains LG tech support is awful, and customer service is no better. While part is under warranty, I will have to pay all labor. I called to complain, and got sent to various numbers. Nobody would give me a way to reach management. So I'll have to say it here: LG, your product and your service suck. Other customers be forewarned. Note: If I get a satisfactory response from LG, I will be happy to change my review.

Poor LG customer service and defect in the actual item. Recently I had an issue with the air conditioner that we purchased around a year ago. Because of this, we decided to call the LG customer service department to see if we can find any potential solutions to our problem. I was on call for hours, being transferred to multiple departments that did not address our concerns with the AC unit. When I finally got connected to a representative of the AC unit department, no direct solution was given and instead my time was wasted yet again. I was told to write an email, so I reached out to the Presidential Liaison; they gave me a call which I missed (since I was busy with work), and when I tried to call them back I had to restart the process of reaching the specific department, to which they responded back with a text message saying they have closed the case.

In the end we were only given a 15% discount of any other items from LG. Needless to say I am very disappointed with the approach customer service took and I will not be purchasing any other LG products in the future. Those who are considering working with or purchasing LG products should reconsider, and many other people and I have had a negative experience with this company.

Have an LG mini split that is 6 months old. It's primary heat for the Buffalo area. Compressor went. HVAC guy was on phone w them for 4 hrs troubleshooting. Sent a new compressor 2 weeks later that went bad in under 2 hrs. LG refuses to do anything. I wouldn't wipe in the bathroom w their warranty. Finally after lots of back and forth, I replaced the entire unit w a Mitsubishi. I have numerous buildings and would never install an LG in any of them. Every HVAC guy I've spoken w on the area won't even work on them saying they have become junk w terrible replacement parts and horrible customer service.

Just purchased the 14000 BTU Smart AC. Not easy to install, as it's quite heavy. You must slide the main unit out of the outer frame (install the frame to the window and then slide unit in), but getting it out was a nightmare. After 45 minutes of frustration and watching a YouTube video to make sure I wasn't do anything wrong, I finally had to take a rubber mallet and a wooden dowel and whack the hell out of the main unit MANY times for it to start moving out (come to find out that the foam inside had been wrinkled/jammed on installation at the factory).

Regular cooling mode works quite well. Low-speed cools efficiently and very quietly. Smart setup w/ Alexa was quick and easy. However, "Dry" mode (which is supposed to dry more than cool) is pretty useless - it turns off/on every 10-30 seconds! No matter what the temp is set to - even 3 degrees below the actual room temp - it constantly powers on/off. The unit almost never stays on for more than 30 seconds (and most of the time it's much shorter).

LG company is horrible. Do not buy any of their products. I purchased four 10,000 BTU A/C's at $500. In 2021. All four had defective water pumps. A tech finally arrived at my home, and Covid started. It took nine mos for the parts to arrive, he installed three and it was already winter. He disappeared and all four are garbage.LG customer service refused to acknowledge my situation. I had to give up the fight, since I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

My new LG 8000 BTU wall a.c., delivered yesterday, needs service (turns on for 15 sec, then turns off, then on, etc.). Rather than repair, they're sending a free new unit to arrive in up to two weeks. Fortunately I don't have to return unit, only destroy serial number sticker, and send pix of cut sticker.) I would have much preferred a tech visit. They claim tech visit costs more than replacing unit (and heat wave coming).

I recently purchased an LG air conditioner for my home, and it has been an absolute game-changer, especially during the hot summer months. From its sleek design to its powerful cooling capabilities, this unit has exceeded all my expectations.

Updated on 03/06/2024: Just wanted to update my last review… Contacted the BBB. They contacted LG, we went back and forth with wrong departments and wrong numbers for a couple weeks when we tried to contact them. Finally got a hold of the “presidential“ offices, they were supposed to have someone come and look at our units and then they couldn’t get anyone. Here we are 2 months later and they still don’t work.. Did I mention I have 6 units that don’t work. Got my last message from the BBB that they can do no more. Then LG messages me and said they can get no one to fix them, we are on our own. Nice of them… So I froze for 2+months and we are out over $16,000 now.

The only other thing I can do is take the HVAC company that has been trying to work with us, fixing them to small claims court and sue them for our money back and I don’t even know if that will do anything. And yes this is def a real person in the middle of a Pennsylvania winter… Thanks for screwing the middle class! I will never buy any LG product again!

Original Review: We have had mini splits in our house… 6 heads… 2 separate units and have had nothing but problems $15,000+ later! The service techs are always at our house we have had them for 2 yrs and have replaced compressors, control panels, circuit boards you name it. Freon every so many months… Now you would though know they are leaking you would fix the leaks right? Nope! We are in Pa and I’m tired of over $400 electric bills and freezing my butt off! I’ve asked them to just replace them because obviously there is a problem but no they keep coming back and then we get charged $100’s for Freon and labor charges. This is ridiculous. I can’t believe no one stands behind their products these days! Better business bureau is my next step because I’ve had it. We are always sick because sometimes it’s over 80 degrees and the Other times we wake up in the morning and it’s below 50 and freezing!

LG has the worst customer service ever!! We will never buy another LG appliance again. I’ve spent well over the cost of a new unit of my time in dealing with this garbage and it’s still NOT resolved!!! The new A/C unit has still not been sent out. More promises every day and still NOTHING! Spend your money on another brand!!!

Our A/C went out in our house over a month ago. Tech went out and repaired it (took one week for this to happen) and it was broken again within 48 hours. He came back out and said it needed a complete new unit. (This was another week.) We didn’t receive a new unit for another week because they didn’t order it right away. Received new unit on the 14th - which was delivered on the 14th - in the rain. No one called beforehand like they said they would - so it sat outside in the rain all day. Technicians don’t install the new units - when my husband went to put it in - the new unit was damaged.

I have called/talked on chat EVERY day since then and no one has been able to help me - everyone says they will escalate it and nothing happens - it’s all false promises and lies. For over a week of me calling/chatting - no one ever said we need you to cut the serial number plate off of the unit and send us that picture - it wasn’t until I asked did someone finally say yes that’s what we’re waiting on!!!

I order a 10000 BTU and 12000 and the latter arrived defective. Because I ordered through Amazon they wouldn't help but it took at least 6 phone calls to receive that answer. A friend also ordered, but directly- the worst service for her issue as well. Abysmal customer service. Also when you clean the filter light doesn't always turn off, random. Worked on one AC not the other. I followed directions. I gave a 2 because it is very quiet. I regret not ordering a Freylingson AC which was recommended. I would strongly not recommend given the other options. Quality is cheap plastic.
