I was given an estimate and I had removed several items from the move. The actual move was done by a third party. The cost of the move was an additional 3000. I wasn't informed that a third party was going to be doing the actual move. Had I known, I would have gone with a different company.
Empire did an amazing job with my move. I had a 4 bedroom house going from SC to NC and the roads were a bit tricky so I didn't want to do the move myself. Empire also helped with organizing the timings of some things so that I could grab my keys right around the time they were arriving so that nothing would be held up. They were awesome!
Empire convinced me that they were the real deal, and that they could take care of the move without me being present. But we got totally ripped off. They took our money. We got no service. When they showed up, their movers immediately wanted three times the amount we were quoted. When I tried to talk to a supervisor, it was some young punk kid that said, “Too bad. You can't expect them to do it for free.” We refused to let them touch our stuff because we were afraid they would hold her hostage.
We couldn't afford to do that increase and they weren't gonna do it. When I was trying to estimate the amount we had without being there to see it, I was told that if it was more than what we had contracted for, we would have the option of either having them taken as the increase or leaving it behind. Then we were told that they couldn't leave it behind and that they were charging us $500 an hour for their movers to take things out of there as my son went through it to see what we leave behind. We lost $1,500 I couldn't afford to lose.
My experience was a disaster. I'd like my money back because they nearly ripped me off. I was given a date and I was told they would be there at noon time. They showed up at four in the afternoon in a rented truck that was half the size it was supposed to be. When they came in, they told me flat out that they were not going to pack anything or put everything in the truck, and they wanted $10,000. So I threw them out. The one guy never got out of the truck and he kept the truck running. I could not even get a license plate and there was no name on the truck. One guy went through and touched all my things. He even broke something, put it in his pocket, and took it. So I didn't know what it was. I don't want anybody else to be suckered into something like that. I'm really disgusted with the whole thing and I expect to get $1,900 back or I am suing.
Small amount things needed to go a good trek away from where it as, needed a fast team to get the ball rolling because I was running short on time. Empire Moving Group did a really good job and everyone was super chill. All my belongings made it to point b and all the movers were pretty cool too.
Empire was fast, reliable, and made sure my less than sturdy objects were packed into the truck in a sturdy fashion. I was moving from OK to TX and was very impressed by how great Empire Moving Group was. I would definitely recommend them.
Moving over state lines from West Virginia to Virginia for some cheaper property. Everything went pretty well with the move, we had a lot of junk that needed to be removed, recycled or thrown out which this team also helped with. They even helped out with a final walk through and deciding what was staying or being thrown out. I appreciate the hard work these movers put into their job.
They do awesome and amazing job for my move. I had to move into big building lots of stairs and had couches and other things to be worried of. This team made short work and lifted things like they weigh nothing! They were very cool to me and I appreciate greatly.
Empire Moving Group is a 5 star team and you shouldn't pass them up if you are looking for a reliable, professional, team that truly cares about making sure your needs are met. They handled all of my items with care, their prices were good, and everyone knew what they were doing!
Empire was lousy and I would never ever refer them to anybody. They sent two guys on a truck and when they opened up the truck, it was half full. The mover walked around the house and said it wasn't gonna work. He quoted $4,800 and he said they have to take payment then and it's not something I can do with a credit card. I declined because the price I was promised was different and I sent them away. Also, Empire said the movers were going to come, take the TVs off the wall, and put everything in little baggies. I told him that's great because it's two old women I'm bringing to Georgia. But when they got there, they said they don't do that. They just load it.
I couldn't get ahold of one person at Empire. Nobody answered the phone and then it went to voicemail. I couldn't get ahold of Aiden, who said that he was my organizer, my consultant, my everything and to call him for any problems. I finally got somebody from Empire about two days later and they said once they get the contract to the third party, then it's out of their hands. Empire should tell the customer the truth upfront that the mover is a third party. They're not coordinators, they're salespeople. Their job is to sell the service so they can broker it out to a third-party contractor.
My initial experience was very good. I was told that Empire Moving based out of Boca Raton and that they could do the move for me in seven days from Las Vegas, that they could arrange to have my car shipped out. They quoted me some prices that were very favorable. However, the entire experience was unlike promised. I was mortified with my experience moving.
They initially did one bill of lading. I was told that there was no problem if there was going to be any additional pieces of furniture or any changes in the items in the move. I spoke with someone named Chris who was very nice and assured me that if I had to add or take something out, they would make the adjustments. The move was scheduled for the 25th or 26th. They couldn't pin the date down exactly. On the day of the move, the 26th, I got a call from someone who sounded very irritated. He said that he would be coming from L.A. to pick up my stuff in Vegas. Eight hours later, they arrived. They were from Sannah Moving Company. The lead mover who spoke very little English threw up his hands and said, "This won't fit. I don't have a big enough truck for this." I had him call his manager. The manager said, "I should have been on the move. I'm sorry. I'm not there to handle this for you. But these are the guys you've got."
My original quote from Empire was $2,200. By the time the guy insulted me and swore at me in Spanish and I yelled back at him and almost had a heart attack, he completed his bill of lading and it was $5,900 for the move. I had a red-eye scheduled out that night. The car companies that Empire set me up with were supposed to show up that day and pick up my car and load it onto a truck but they never showed up. I had to leave my house in Las Vegas, had friends come in and move my car to another location. That was a nightmare because the car guy didn't show up for five days to pick up my car. My friend had my car in her driveway for five days loaded to the brim up to the ceiling. When I would make a call to the car company, they said, "We'll be there when we get there. We'll do the best we can.” It was terrible attitude. That moving the car was estimated at 1,200. But by the time the car was delivered 10 days later, it ended up being a $2,300 move for the car.
Now I'm out $5,900 for my furniture and $2,300 for my car approximately. The worst of it was when Sannah Van Lines pulled away, they left all of my big, beautiful plants, hundreds and hundreds of dollars of trees that I had been collecting for years. Chris at Empire had told me, "Movers don't like to move plants, but if you slip them a couple $100 or something, they'll be able to bring your plants to Florida." I was under the impression that my furniture was going to be going from Las Vegas directly to Florida. It would take seven days. My plants would be included.
My furniture did not arrive for three weeks from Los Angeles. They brought my furniture back from Las Vegas to Santa Ana, California. It sat in a warehouse for three weeks. They did nothing but insult me every time I called to inquire when my stuff would be shipped. This was a traumatic experience where I was on the phone with Empire Moving, with Sannah Moving, with the next company that ended up being the company to pick up my stuff and move it. I was in public places sometimes having high level arguments over the way I was being treated.
When I finally got down to Florida, I spent over $1,500 to stay in a hotel because I didn't have any furniture in my place. I rented a car and that cost about $1,200. I drove over to Empire Moving's address on Glades Road in Boca Raton, and there was no physical office for Empire Moving. They rent out the address, and they're not a real company.
Every time I tried to call them to complain, to get an explanation for what was going on, which was seven times directly to Empire Moving, I would get the runaround and not be put through to any human being. The only people that I ever spoke to were customer service reps that would pick up the initial call, that asked me a series of questions. When they found out it was me, they said, "We'll get back to you if we have any information." I have been wanting to write letters to Better Business Bureau but I'm still recovering from this experience. Empire Moving represented that they were my mover but they weren't. There were two other moving companies involved. They're misrepresenting what they're doing.
While I was setting up the service, it was great. But the movers showed up late in the evening and it was not awesome. Also, I learned that Empire was a third-party company and they contract the move to other movers. When the moving company showed up, they walked around and looked at everything. I had paid Empire Moving Group a $1,300 deposit for the move and I got a quote from them that it was $3,500 for the rest of it. The day the movers were supposed to be there, they told me it was gonna be $7,000. So, the quote Empire gave was completely different. My two kids and I ended up moving from Alabama to Texas in a 26-foot U-Haul.
I called my Empire Group representative several times and he was very communicative. Anytime that I had a change in inventory, he was very responsive the whole month that we preplanned the move. But as soon as the movers showed up, I haven't heard a word from him. He had also contracted for both of my vehicles to be moved to Texas as well. I paid a $400 deposit on each vehicle and those movers didn't show up. Whenever they didn't show up, I contacted the company and they told me they could sue me for the price of the move because I didn't cancel within 24 hours. I didn't get a refund on my two $400 deposits from the auto transport company and I also didn't get my $1,300 deposit back from Empire Moving Group.
Empire did a wonderful job of making sure this move went down with no issues. From start to finish they stayed in contact with me and made sure I knew what was happening. The movers themselves were very fast with getting everything loaded and they arrived to the destination almost faster than I did! Overall this is a good team!
Empire Moving Group did a nice job. I didn't have any major issues and the only reason I hired a team is because I'm not well equipped to drive a box truck through the area that I lived in. They sent real pros who made sure everything was safely delivered and that's what made me give them 5 stars!
Empire Moving Group did a fantastic job of taking care of me and my needs. They were fast but the best part is how much they help with the actual planning stages of moving. I had to get things arranged in advance because I was doing a long distance move and kind of had to do everything in one go. They made it all happen!
Moved to different state and wasn't aware of the timing of delivery. It took 3-4 days to get there. Was put in different trucks and stored. Also the price was at least 3 times the original quote. The 1st person you talk to should be better aware of amount of boxes per home/person.
Empire Moving Group did a good job. They were all super on the ball with getting the arrangements made and they helped with scheduling other things outside of just moving boxes too. The leasing desk was giving me some trouble but this company made everything work and I'm glad I chose them over alternatives in my area.
Empire Moving Group was absolutely FANTASTIC. I had nowhere else to turn and thought I was going to have to just donate things because my local teams and friends and family were all indisposed and couldn't help or were too expensive. A friend told me to call Empire and they will make sure everything is taken care of and sure enough they did! No issues with the move itself and everyone who works there is super nice!
This is a 5 star team of moving professionals that will make all your problems and stress melt away by how on point they are. I had a very good experience with Empire Moving Group and I think everyone should give them a shot. Nothing broken or damaged or stolen along the way which oddly enough is rare. They were worthy of getting a 5 star review
Heya I give this group of movers and consultants here 5 stars. They were pretty keyed in to my area and know how to get everything done in a timely fashion without a bunch of hiccups or broken furniture. They did a good enough job with everything and I would definitely recommend you hire them.
There needs to be better communication and a need for more integrity in completing business transactions. Changing rates at the last minute when a person plans to move a long distance is preying on the person's vulnerability to make other accommodations. Empire did not verbally disclose that the booking was contracted to other movers. Kyle the booking representative provided information that seemed legit but failed to state that the moving company who accepts the contract can come in and add additional speculations that fall within the characteristics of what has been quoted. My family was charged an additional 2600 in fees after paying a nonrefundable $1000. prepayment. Empire Moving Company appears to be compliant with moving companies that have hidden intentions to trap people into paying a higher price for services than agreed upon.
I not speak good English so having company to do same language was very nice and help a lot. They come in to home and get boxes and couches and things and this process was made to be very easy for me. I am very happy with how they operate business at Empire. Thank you again.
I was very pleased with the service. This excellent team of fast and reliable professional movers provided to me and my family. I was super concerned about making arrangements and trying to get everything lines up but these guys helped me out with the planning phase and we timed things perfectly to get my new things dropped off right after I got the keys! 10 out of 10!
Moved to Missouri not too long ago and I remember having such a hard time finding a good moving company to get me from where I was to where I'm at. It was really tough especially finding a group that could do it in the time I needed. These guys ended up panning out for me and everything was delivered in the condition it left in.
I had a pretty good time with this company. They were fast to arrive and I gave the man on the phone a general estimate for them to figure out how big of a truck we needed. Everything lined up perfectly and the time it took them to drop everything off at the new place was acceptable.
Farm equipment that needed to go from Arizona to Texas. My normal shippers fell through so I needed a capable team of guys to handle some smaller but heavy equipment over to the sister farm. These guys did a good job and made sure it was all handled appropriately.
Small move no major issues. Everything was fast and worked out pretty well. I had some small stuff that I carried in my car like the PC and monitors, etc, stuff I didn't want sitting in a truck. They helped get stuff into my car as well as handling the rest of the stuff I actually hired them for. They were a good team and I would definitely come back.
Empire Moving Group gave me and my family excellent customer service over the phone and treated us like valued customers. When the movers arrived we were extremely pleased and grateful that they took extra precautions to make sure our things were safe and secure.
Empire Moving Group did a really wonderful job handling my move. I had a 4 bedroom house in Miami that I was having moved to Jacksonville, so it was a bit of a trek. They made it happen and made it all work out exactly how I needed it to.
Had a pretty small quantity of stuff compared to last time I had to move, some basic stuff. Moving out of my girlfriend's and into my own place in Georgia after a break up. I work remote so I just found the closest place with cheap rent. Due to the nature of everything, speed was a factor and I needed to go asap. They made it happen and I didn't have any issues.
