Within a few months, one of the 2 circuit boards failed. They would not back it because it was purchased scratch and dent. Bought a replacement board. The other board failed soon after replacing the first one. There was a noticeable difference between the replacement board and the original. We decided not to put any more money into the unit. Ran with the one new board for a couple months until the temperature readings began to flash and fail. No longer works at all.
We had a kitchen cabinet custom built for a new $1600 Avallon wine cooler in September 2019. The cooler turned itself off 10/06/22, and will not start again. I called EdgeStar customer service and was told unit is out of warranty and the diagnosis over the phone was we need a new transformer and electrical board. I have had blow dryers that last longer than three years. It's junk.

Failed after 25 months. I was happy with the cooling performance of the unit until there was a coolant leak. Now I have a dead appliance with repairs costing more than the unit itself. Do yourself a favor and find a different brand.
Product failed after 21 months. Purchased a CWR1551DZ Edgestar Wine Refrigerator. Came home and unit was dead. No tripped circuit breaker. Tech Support told me that must have been a surge, but nothing else in my house experienced a surge. Next said I must buy 3 new boards to get it working. Will try that, but after seeing the other reviews, I am not very hopeful. They seem to have many issues with these units.
I bought an Edgestar wine cooler and have been pleased with it for over four years. I paid for extended warranty. When the cooler failed I called Edgestar and went through some diagnostics to determine the problem. They contacted the insurance carrier, New Leaf, and they contacted a service rep. The service rep showed up immediately and determined that some parts needed to be replaced. The service rep ordered the parts needed. Four weeks later the part shows up, the rep shows up the next day, and determines that they sent the wrong parts. The rep contacts the insurance company which in turn contacts Edgestar. Four weeks later I receive an email that says I supposed to take pictures of the "bad" parts and forward to New Leaf who will then forward to Edgestar to evaluate the parts and reissue them.
Talking with the insurance company they said they sent me an email weeks ago requesting the parts' picture. If they sent it weeks ago how come I didn't get it? If the email address was wrong how come I got this current message. My disappointment is working with three different entities to get the cooler fixed and at this point have been without the cooler for several months. The process should be simpler. I'm very frustrated that something that should be easy has taken so long. I feel like I wasted my money on the insurance.
I had purchased two Edgestar wine coolers for a tasting room. Both units were defective. They failed to cool despite the fan and power working. The condensers were defective. I contacted support and they told me I was outside of the warranty period and instead offered me a discount on a third unit. I needed at least one working unit, so I did it, but that was a mistake! Now I have three defective units - all the same issue - and they still refuse to help me. I am never buying this brand again. Don't throw your money away on this junk. Beware!!
We purchased a CWR361FD 36 bottle built in wine refrigerator with dual cooling zones. Approximately 18 months after the purchase it failed to cool. Tech support at Edgestar offered two options: the first one was to use the easiest and least expensive fix and the second was to purchase a new refrigerator at a slightly reduced price. Our repairman tried the first option and replaced the control board. That did not work because the condenser was defective and failed to operate. The repair tech said that the labor required to replace the condenser would be far more than the defective refrigerator was worth. Paying for a new Edgestar unit was out of the question because we would be "throwing good money after bad" and we were disappointed that the matter could not be brought to satisfactory closure. Unfortunately, we felt that the integrity of Edgestar products is questionable and we purchased a wine refrigerator from a different manufacturer.
I purchased this wine refrigerator in March of 2016. Shortly after installing and beginning to use it the product failed to cool. It was promptly replaced - but I had to find a way to dispose of the original unit. Now less than a year later the replacement unit has failed in the exact same manner. The unit fails to cool to the set temperature and is at least 10 degrees warmer than it should be. I purchased a service plan and am now getting a major run around from the service provider. I have called numerous times, sometimes I never even reach a representative. I have spoken to 3 different reps each promising to get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. None ever do. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase this unit.
When we first bought this wine cooler, it worked well. However, a one year warranty is insufficient. The upper zone failed after about 18 months. We called the service department and they sold us a new circuit board. That got the fan going, but the upper zone still didn't cool. The service department then sold us a replacement cooling node. There were no instructions on how to install this complicated part; the online video they pointed us to was for a different model and skipped quickly through the most important parts like how to connect the wires.
Worse yet, the new cooling node did not restore the unit to proper working condition. So now we have spent $64 on 2 replacement parts and several hours of labor, in addition to the purchase price of the unit, and this piece of junk still doesn't work properly. Finally, the most maddening issue is the company's response to my email asking for help. They responded that I should consult an appliance repair person.
I purchased (5-29-2015) a "built-in beverage cooler" model CBR1501SLD. This is for my outdoor kitchen. When I did a search on Google for outdoor beverage coolers this came up. I purchased this for $699.00 plus a 3 year warranty of $59.99 provided by New Leaf. In June of 2017 still within my warranty period my beverage cooler stopped cooling, the fan stopped working. I called New Leaf and filed a claim, then the process was to contact Edgestar as well, which I did. I was told to wait 5 days, I heard nothing, I called on the 5th day and they told me my product is not covered as it is not an outdoor system.
I am furious that I paid so much for what I thought was an outdoor system (OF WHICH WHEN YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR OUTDOOR BEVERAGE COOLERS THIS EDGESTAR COMES UP) and on top of it a warranty to find out it's not outdoor equipped and when I called around to all appliance technicians in the area not one person services this Edgestar! TOTAL RIPOFF.
