    What is ARW Home?

    ARW Home (formerly American Residential Warranty) is a home warranty company headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, that offers four coverage plans. ARW Home services warranties in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. It partners with companies like ADT, Lowe’s and GE Appliances to provide comprehensive and reputable service for its customers nationwide.

    ARW Home coverage

    ARW Home sells four home warranty packages: Ultimate Electronics, Kitchen Plus, Platinum Premier and 4-in-1 Bundle. Prices may vary based on your location.

    • Ultimate Electronics: The Ultimate Electronics plan covers consumer electronics systems like TVs and computers for $24.99 per month.
    • Kitchen Plus: The Kitchen Plus plan covers most of the appliances in a kitchen, such as your stove, microwave and refrigerator, for $39.99 per month.
    • Platinum Premier: Platinum Premier covers all the above appliances, plus some systems (water heater and air conditioning, for example), fans and the garage door opener. This plan is $64.99 per month and the most popular, according to ARW Home.
    • 4-in-1 Bundle: The 4-in-1 Bundle combines all the coverage included in ARW Home’s three other plans, plus coverage for a washer and dryer, water and sewer lines, plus something it calls Deluxe Advantage coverage, for $129.99 per month. Deluxe Advantage coverage includes the following:

    Some of ARW Home’s coverage caps seem to be pretty low (based on a sample contract). For example, the company only covers central air conditioners and heating systems up to $1,000 — and if these systems are over 10 years old, the company agrees to a replacement allowance of only $600.

    You do earn a $50 credit for each year you’ve been a customer, though. So, if your heater is 10 years old but you’ve been a customer for three years, you’ll receive a $750 allowance (keep in mind that the average cost of a new air conditioner is about $5,600).

    ARW Home coverage exclusions

    ARW Home does have a few exclusions to be mindful of. Its coverage doesn’t protect against any preexisting conditions, defects or deficiencies. These are things most companies don’t cover, but some do — so if this coverage is important to you, you may want to choose a different company.

    Other coverages excluded from ARW Home’s plans include smoke detectors, fireplaces, roof leaks and the ice maker in your refrigerator.

    ARW Home costs

    ARW Home’s plans range from $24.99 to $129.99 per month, depending on the level of coverage. The lowest plan in that range, the Ultimate Electronics plan, doesn’t cover any items traditionally covered by a home warranty, like systems or appliances.

    In some cases, you may pay more or less, depending on your location and exact level of coverage.

    While some companies offer a discount for an upfront annual payment, ARW Home doesn’t mention this incentive — but this is likely because the company doesn’t require long-term contracts. Contact the company directly to see what discounts may be available for your specific situation.

    FAQ

    Can I choose my own service provider for repairs with ARW Home?

    ARW Home has a network of providers it will choose from. If one of the company’s providers isn’t available for the requested service, you may be able to choose your own, but your provider will need to show proof of insurance and be fully licensed.

    Can I get an ARW Home warranty without signing a long-term contract?

    ARW Home doesn’t require any long-term contracts. You have the option to pay monthly or annually with no difference in price.

    Is there a cancellation fee for ARW Home?

    There may be a cancellation fee, depending on your situation. If you cancel within the first year and have used the company’s services, you may be charged a $49 termination fee or the cost of the service provided. If you cancel within the first 30 days of service, you’ll be refunded the full agreement price. The only way to cancel is to contact American Residential Warranty in writing at its physical address.

    Do I need a home inspection for ARW Home?

    ARW Home doesn’t require an inspection in order to determine the condition of your appliances and systems, but it does have a 30-day waiting period in place to protect itself from paying for preexisting conditions (which aren’t covered regardless).

    Is ARW Home legit?

    ARW Home is a reputable company that provides home warranty services in all 50 states. Its approach to coverage may be good for some customers but not others: Its coverage caps are fairly low on most systems and appliances, and you can’t file a claim online, but Deluxe Advantage (included in the 4-in-1 Bundle) comes with quite a few benefits that may offset these drawbacks.

    For customers who want more coverage options and aren’t concerned about having to submit their claims by phone, ARW Home’s plans are comprehensive and flexible enough to be a good option. However, for those who want a more tech-forward approach to warranty coverage and need higher coverage caps, a different company may be a better fit.

    I happen to suffer from PPMS, (Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis) and it creates what's known as MS brain fog, which means it is very hard for me to remember things. Anyway, I had a horrible experience with my last warranty company because they would withdrawal money from my account on the wrong date and they never once sent out a technician after I told them my refrigerator stopped working and that I was about to lose over $300 of food that I just bought. They didn't care. I lost all of the food that I just bought and had to go to a used appliance store to get another refrigerator. I lost almost $1,000 after the food and cost to replace my fridge. And when I decided to go with ARW, I told the agent to set my payments for the 3rd of each month but that must have been lost in translation because I received a text message that said I missed my payment date.

    Long story short, I called this morning and spoke with Joel. He was very kind and patient with me as I explained all the above to him. He also assured me that he made it so that all future payments would not be taken out before the 3rd, except for if the 3rd was on a Saturday or Sunday then it would come out on the Friday before, but that is perfectly fine with me. In conclusion, I would just like to say, keep up the good work.

      I was contacted by Jason ** who I had spoken with before at length for insurance that ARW offers. As before, Jason was expertise in conveying the insurance available and the reason why ARW was the insurance to have. I had already insured all my appliances and ac. I soon as I heard the value and pricing to insure the sewer and water lines from my property to the utilities end of the street; I was sold. I have used the ARW insurance because my dryer went out. I paid the 50 dollar fee and the repair man was there that afternoon. After having to wait just one day for parts; I was back drying clothes as if the machine was new.

      I highly recommend ARW and Jason ** as your go to guy - for these types of insurance needs - on items that are used frequently and unfortunately do fail; in our homes. Jason has an easy going attitude and factual knowledge that is easy to understand. He has a friendly and honest attitude and not a pressure or rude sales pitch; that we find in lives these days.. You will not be disappointed by ARW. If are lucky enough to reach Jason ** when you call ARW; tell him I said hello and thank you.

      Mr. ** in the Florida office was amazing! He was SO patient, informative, polite to the 9 for sure and just an overall pleasure to do business with. He DID NOT pressure me in any way to upgrade my services, but instead educated me on how upgrading would be a benefit to me. He took the necessary time (even though it was well over the 30 minute time limit the reps get; which I feel is EXTREMELY rude for a company to do) to make sure he answered all my question to where I understood. I absolutely enjoyed speaking with him and I told him talking with him helped me to not cancel my service with ARW.

      Not only is ARW's website HORRIBLY laid out, but it is missing information that potential customers would want to see to help them determine if they would want service from the company. Also, for us customers who have an account with ARW, that account layout is a joke as well. I've had claims and nowhere in my account does it show that I've made a claim, the progress of it or that it has been completed. ARW, get your online website and customer accounts a HUGE makeover. Again, as for Mr. **, you rock, you're a great customer service agent and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

      The American Home Warranty was sold to me without the upfront verbal option to do the add on unit, as the representative inquired about my level of home (2 levels), including the number of units in my home (verbally informed of 2 units in home). At "NO" point did the representative educate/advise me of the add on unit option/cost, at which point would have allowed me the option to make the decision of the home warranty. This resulted in only (1) home unit being covered after 2+ years of having the coverage. Informed corporate, as advised to resolve matter by credit; add on to cover second unit (30) day wait period. Thank you for the resolution.

      When I lost my debit card given to ARW for the purpose of automatic monthly billing, I missed my payment for the month. Joel helped me set up my newly issued card and set payment for two days out (since no funds had yet been added to the account since receiving the newly issued card). Joel also sent me immediately at my request a statement of coverage for the warranty which I had requested in an earlier telephone call with a different representative but had not received. Joel was knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and professional throughout our interaction. Based on this call I would recommend ARW for its customer service/billing department. The content of my review is not influenced by the small incentive received to write a review.

      Ronald was very professional assisting us with a payment issue. Issue resolved with all parties in compliance! Thank you Ronald for your expert assistance!       Professional, fair and respectful customer service by Ronald who assisted me in changing account information. I have been with ARW since leaving AHS in 2018. ARW has replaced a refrigerator in 2019 and replaced a garbage disposal. With each claim I've enjoyed exemplary service.

      I provided billing information to Ronald so that my payment would come out of my checking account. Change was done immediately and effectively. My daughter had paid for a new claim and was charged for May, 2023. However, all charges are to come from my account beginning June 2023.
