    Installation & Setup

Alexa other than hidden issues of eavesdropping and sharing that same with Bezos. It has many complicated handling issues. Configuring it to different Wifi is difficult - to an extent that it will take hours just to start the setup on ALEXA. Pressing the Action button will send the device to factory setup. It will continuously ask for you location and without giving the location consent it won't go ahead with the setup. Alexa is poor for any complex task. Just for listening to music better take bluetooth speaker again which is cost effective and won't pass on your conversations to Bezos.

For any new thing to start in Alexa it takes up a lot of time. Even if you have done it before - some stupid reconfiguring the back end will add some set of rules and you will not be aware until and unless you search on multiple sites and after doing trial and error for the whole day. Configuring the bluetooth is as difficult as creating a newer version of bluetooth. Thank God I did not buy it - it was gifted to me by my stupid pharma company and I did not waste my time and money on thinking about it. Thank God it was free for me however whoever has spent money on it I feel the agony for them - how come they can make such a pathetic product and still bring out new versions of the same failed product.

I bought this product a year ago for less than $20 and It's still working, I didn't realize this product was that great, I can use it as speaker. Also I can manage my whole house with this smart home. That's just amazing!!

Amazon is using BNI shipping company to ship orders but this business does not deliver. It leaves all parcels at the depot to be picked up as they do not have enough drivers. Amazon should not use this shipping company.

First the items delay and then you have to wait 7 days for your refund and all the time orders is missing. Bad service and customer service. We use to love Amazon but it getting very bad. I have to stay on chat for hours to just ask about my money and without any good results.

I used to like Alexa/Echo. In fact I have my whole house setup for voice such as thermostat (Until Idiots at Google changed things by buying Nest), open and close curtains, all lights on/off, control TV, control ceiling fans, control air purifier, control water sprinklers, control door locks, etc... And everything was great until some moron jack** at Amazon decided to add all this "By the way" statements after every question and it's really really pissing me off.

If Amazon doesn't implement a way to turn this off I'm going to take everything I own from Amazon and burn it, I won't even sell it because I couldn't live with myself passing on such evil to someone else. Who in their right mind would think people would like such a thing? Amazon, you're on notice and you had better hurry because I'm not the only one who is unhappy and about ready to burn all your products they own. Once I do burn everything you will NEVER get me back as a customer and not only that I will be cancelling my yearly subscription and anything else I pay Amazon for!

I am absolutely starting to hate Alexa to the point where I’m gonna get rid of it. I bought it for my whole family, four of them. I like it, but I am so sick of Alexa and her stupid suggestions that you cannot shut off. It’s intrusive and unnecessary and it makes me feel like I’m under a microscope in my own home. I don’t trust this device anymore and I’m gonna get rid of it. Amazon, give your customers the ability to shut off your stupid stupid suggestions! If I want to play NPR news, I want to play NPR news, and not get a suggestion from Alexa that has nothing to do with NPR news first!

I spent two days trying to get Echo connected to WiFi but the Alexa app failed to find. Then with GREAT frustration I used chat for help which they called me on the phone. They also failed to connect. Then she said further help would cost me $90.00. I told her that this price was not on the box up front and was unfair. "Lady, you're not getting a penny out of me to reward you to do this crooked thing." I told her if I reward you then this infection of greed would spread. I never thundered at her but my words were like gentle rains in hopes she grow tired of being a part of organized thieves and break off. Then I broke off connection.

Alexa is more problematic than helpful. Alexa is always losing connectivity. I have the best wifi money can buy and none of my other wifi devices are having issues. At least once a week, I have to reset the whole system. I have an Echo, 3 dots, 6 bulbs, and a thermostat. I wish I had never bought it. The more I integrated the worst Alexa got.

October 13, 2022 about 11:35 pm, all our Alexa devices went down for about a minute or two. We tried to reset our Echos, ie; go through app to link up, etc. etc., but nothing worked. Amazon wanted to access our wifi itself with a code, which we fully declined. So, the Echo set up stage stayed orange for about 30 minutes. Checked the mobile app again, which claimed that *app said 'devices were on" which was clearly incorrect. By the way, when seeking a fix for the situation, 99 percent of any online search, on Amazon website or Google, was making you check and recheck your wifi connection - with precious little Real help. Anyway, we sat down, planning on just throwing them out, when Echo finally turned blue responded saying, This device is ready.

What I did not like over the past year, Alexa would say something weird and in a weird voice. Our whole family heard it more than once. We now have confirmation, by Amazon, that this company is and has been listening to all of us - all the time...as of a several months back (found the info online). PS if you go on into your Amazon account, there is a tab (delete voice recordings) that "allows" you to delete your recorded conversations. You don't get to see what was recorded - interesting.

Amazon has stated that after the 8th, Alexa devices will be listening ALL the time. They say it's to teach ALEXA of our speech better, but we know that's a load. My entire family is throwing out all Alexa devices, and we're deleting our Amazon accounts and it's high time we fought back for our rights. We're going ROKU.
