Consumer Complaints and Reviews
I will no longer buy products from this company. After I was taken advantage of a sale; I get home and the promotion was already over two that's right TWO months before yet the display sale sign is still up and all packages are marked with a coupon. When you get home and open the package and read the coupon with a magnifying glass you then see the date of promotion. I called them about this and seeing the packages are already open and the store won't take them back so I called Energizer telling them I WANT MY MONEY BACK and they wouldn't even give me a coupon! ** these **. I will never ever buy another Energizer product again!!!
I ordered one of the units from the Ab Energizer infomercial on 12/15/01 and received it sometime in late January or early February. I was billed $120.75 on my credit card. I returned the unit sometime in February, 2002 to the Fulfillment Center for Ab Energizer. I included a copy of the invoice along with a note asking for a refund to be credited back to my original method of payment. I emailed "email@example.com" in September, 2002 as instructed by the call center, with no response about my refund. I repeatedly tried calling and emailing only to find the number disconnected and no such address exists on internet.
It is now November, 2007, and I am still waiting on my refund with no response from Ab Energizer. I am out of $120.75, not to mention the aggravation and humiliation of being duped by a disreputable organization.
I bought an Ab Energizer and it did not work, and I never got my refund!
I ordered on Jan 31, 2002. I was charged for the product on my credit card $ 119.76 and I never got the product or a refund for it. Because the company advised me to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery and then another month for the dispute, my credit card company company refused to intervene based on how long I waited.
Two years ago, I purchased an AB Energizer in the clearance section of Walgreens at 50% off. When I got home, I discovered that it was missing both connectors and batteries. So the AB Energizer is useless, as it was purchased by me. I took the AB Energizer back to Walgreens, and they would not accept the return. They suggested that I write to the manufacturer and purchase the parts I needed. Walgreens claimed that it was on sale because it needed additional parts.
So, I wrote and wrote to various addresses and never received a response from anyone. I was just about to toss the AB Energizer belt out (still in a new box) when I thought I would try to contact the vendor one more time through the internet. I discovered the article that AB Energizer company was sued for false advertising and went bankrupt over 4 years ago. Therefore, there are no places I can purchase the spare parts I needed. I no longer can find my sales receipt, but how can a store sell the AB product to me. It should have been called back. Is there anything I can do about it, or am I out $20.00? Thank you.

On 18 Feb. 2002, I ordered two Ab Energizers for a total cost of $112.80. I did not receive the products nor the requested refund. All contacts with that company have produced no response. I have called, sent emails and written letters for the refund with no response, ever.
I ordered the product back in March 2000-01. They charged my credit card $72.90. I have not received the product or a refund. I cannot contact anyone by mail, email, phone, fax. I am very unhappy with their services!
I had purchased this item and was not notified of any kind of class action suits against any company, etc. The product was useless.
My husband bought this item for me as a gift. He paid $74.40 for it including tax and shipping & handling. I used this product on a daily basis and after about a month or two, I got shocked and burned. I have a couple of tiny scars on my stomach.
My family ordered this unit to get leaner abs. This product was totally horrible and we had such an unpleasant experience using it. It gave rashes around the abdominal area. I returned this unit to get a refund, but I never did. I contacted and got a hold of someone and she mentioned that we will get the refund, but we never received it.
I purchased an Ab Energizer on 1/06/02 for the amount of $59.95, plus shipping and handling and tax. The product guaranteed your money back if you were not satisfied. I was not satisfied with the Ab Energizer, and wanted to return it for my money. It was very hard for me to talk to any customer service rep for the Ab Energizer company to return the item. All that I had was one phone number on the invoice - (800) 457-0825. They said they were not representatives of the Ab Energizer company, but gave me an address to send the product back to for a refund. I sent the product back, insured mail, and waited for my refund. I never received my refund. I wrote the company again (to the same and only address I have) and still never received a reply or refund. I believe they are a fraudulent company, and I would like to do all that I can to retrieve my money and prevent this from happening to anyone else.
I purchased the Ab Energizer and it has not helped with my stomach. All it does is put electric in your body. I feel sharp electric pain in my stomach and back at times.
I purchased this Ab Energizer belt 2 years ago. It caused burn marks on my stomach. Horrified, I sent the whole kit back to the company within 30 days to get my whole refund as they claimed I could. I have e-mailed and written and made numerous phone calls and have gotten no response as to my refund. I paid $70 for the kit and at this point I am furious that so much time has passed and I have gotten no response. The Better Business Bureau’s website reads that there is no report on them as of now. How do I proceed? I have no receipt because I sent it all back to the company in the mail. Even with proper use of the equipment, I received burn holes on my stomach at the contact points of the belt. I returned everything and the receipt that came with the product. Where do I go from here?
My then 14 year old son wanted to try this out. We ordered/purchased it in January 2002 and returned it on 2-26-2002. I have yet to receive our credit or refund. I have left emails, none replied. My son was feeling a shocking sensation that would hurt and we decided to return the product.
I ordered the product back in February 2002. They charged my credit card $72.90. I have not received the product or a refund. I cannot contact anyone by mail, email, phone, fax. Please help! this is a lot of money!
I ordered batteries and gel for my son's belt on my credit card. The products never came and then after complaining to them, credit never came on the card.
I ordered the Ab Energizer in April 2002. The money (over $73) was taken out of my checking account on April 29, 2002. I, still to this day, have not received the product! I have sent numerous emails and letters but have never received any answers from this company. All I want is my money back! I was not making a donation to this company.
I purchased an Ab Energizer in January 2002. The product caused abdominal pain and small burns on the stomach area. I returned the Ab Energizer in April 2002. Now, late October 2002, 6 months later, I have not received a refund and do not have the product, as it was returned.
I ordered an Ab Energizer from the ad I saw on TV on February 12th, 2001. My credit card (American Express) was billed $193.00, $85.00 more than I was told it would cost ($108.00) when the order was placed. I didn't realize this until I received the statement from American Express at the beginning of April 2002. In April, I called the number I originally placed the order with and told them to cancel the order and credit my credit card, which they said it would be done.
In May, I received a package what I believed contained the items that I cancelled the order for. I didn't open the package and had it returned to the sender. On 5/21/02, "Alex" from Ab Energizer responded to my email requesting the refund. His email stated "Your order is in process of a refund. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for credit to post. For further assistance or to place/cancel order, please contact Customer Service at: 1-800-457-0825." I have phoned, emailed and mailed Ab Energizer (as instructed on the 1-800 #) and still have not been refunded. As of 10/29/02, my American Express card has not been credited.
The Ab Energizer products were recalled from the market on April 2002. I returned the merchandise in February 2002 (approximately one month after buying it). I tried to contact them by mail and email, but no response whatsoever! I was told by my credit card company today (10-07-02) that they never refunded the money which was $91.86. Consequences: too much time and effort trying to contact them and calling my credit card company. I'm stressed out at work and school because I don't have too much money to waste. Thank you.
I ordered the Ab Energizer on January 10, 2002. I was told it would be here in two weeks. I called them after three weeks and told them I hadn't received it. They informed me they would send another, no charge. I finally received the product on March 20 which I did not open but promptly mailed back. I called them the same day to inform them that I was mailing it back at which time they said I would be refunded my full $133.74 in 60 days from when they received the product back. I called them a week later and learned they had received the product and was told I would be receiving a full charge back to my Visa no later than June 15, 2002. I still haven't received any such refund. I have emailed their Orders department daily like I was instructed by their website with my info, and snail mailed them numerous times but have yet to see anything happen.
I ordered the belt and extra stimulators totaling $107.75. I didn't receive the product for about 4 to 6 weeks, so I called and cancelled the order. They debited my account for the $107.75 on March 1st, 2002. I talked to a Vicky in customer service and was assured that the money would be back in my account. That was April 23, 2002. It is September 11, 2002 and still no refund.
I'm a single father raising four boys and was just trying to get in shape to keep up with them, my oldest is 16. It is hard enough raising these four and financially, I really couldn't afford it but I figured in the long run, I would be healthier and could do more with them. After hearing that the product and the company didn't hold up to their promises, I decided to cancel not knowing that I wouldn't receive the product or my money back. Please, if you can help, please do. Thanks.
I ordered the Ab Energizer in December of 2001. I also ordered an extra set of power units. I have yet to receive either! I don't want them now knowing that they are a fallacy. I have tried to contact this company several times. The first few times, they claimed the product was on back order but on its way. Now, you can't even reach them by the customer service number they gave upon order. The account doesn't exist on the line. I have handwritten a letter requesting a refund to my credit card several months ago. I have emailed them many times as well. I have received no response whatsoever. My bill total was $110.80. It was billed to my credit card and I would like it to be refunded but I don't know what else I can do. My order reference number is **. For any guidance that you may give me, I will be very grateful! Thank you.
I had bought the Ab Energizer and had returned it and they have not contacted me about my refund. They have scammed me! I need to contact them and get my refund! I just want to be refunded for a product that they have scammed me out of, that I had bought and returned. They won’t refund it, and I can't contact them!
I've read that there are a lot of lawsuits against this product. I bought one less than a year ago. Is there any way to get my money back? It cost $60, painful, and didn't work.
The ab energizer products did not show results that were guaranteed. Also After taking the dietary supplements and vitamins that came with this product I was in the er due to a reaction , that I was told due to the amount of niacin in these pills. My docter said this would happen to any one taking these pills, and that they should not be allowed to sell them, they could be very dangerous to your health.
I too purchased an Ab Energizer from Walgreens. I noticed it didn't seem to work for us. Now, I see the product is a scam. I too want my money back. What do I do? I paid $70.00 from a local pharmacy.
On Mar. 03, 2002, I ordered Ab Energizer. On Mar 08, 2002, funds were taken out of the account. On May 04, 2002, I was told it had not been ordered; it would be shipped the following week. On May 11, 2002, I called the company and was told it still had not been sent. According to them, the shipper had been fired. On May 18, 2002, I called again and was told it was not in stock. It had never been in stock and the order would be cancelled. Money would be refunded in 30 to 60 days. I informed Derek (the associate I had been speaking to) that it should be within 7 to 10 business working days. He rudely informed me, "not a chance".
On June 19, 2002, there was no money, no answer to any correspondence. The associates were rude and not the least bit helpful. I even emailed the CEO/manager of the company and no answer. This company also gave our account out to two other companies, Cumberland 91 & Leisure Plus, who also took money out of our account. However, once we informed these two companies we did not authorize these transactions, they promptly refunded the account.
This company has had several emails and point of contacts over the last few months. Phone numbers were false. I did put my trust in another company and ordered another Ab Energizer and received it within 3 days with no problem. After all this, we find the company who manufactures them are being sued for false info. I agree; they should be. After using the product with no results and getting badly shocked by this product, I can see why they are being sued.
I followed the diet which came with the AB Energizer, I used the belt and the gel, although one of the belt's part did not work at all. The other part worked but just sent shocks to my skin and burnt it. I would like a refund. I spent my money on what I thought would improve my physical appearance, instead I received this product and got absolutely NO RESULTS!
I ordered an Ab Energizer in January of 2002 with extra power units the total price being $120.22 when the product arrived the two extra power units were missing. I tried to contact the company and was never able to get through to anyone. The product was also very uncomfortable to wear,it irritated my skin. I returned the product within the 30 day return policy and never heard from them or recieved a refund.
I have spent a great deal of time trying to contact there company be phone and have written to there address explaning the problem. My letter was returned with no response. This has caused me alot of wasted time and stress over the last five months!
