Somebody told me to go with National Cremation. Everything went smoothly. The lady I worked with was very nice and answered all questions just fine. She was talkative. She knew what she was talking about. Preplanning made the stress a lot better. With my husband, we did everything at the last minute. I couldn’t handle it, so my kids did it. I’d been getting National Cremation cards in the mail for a couple of years on a rather regular basis like maybe once every five months. It got planted in my mind from that. I already wanted to do cremation for both of me and my wife. We already had that figured out. We knew where we were gonna buried with other family members. I then talked to my father-in-law who is 95 years old about what they have. They kinda have the same thing except with a single funeral home up in Minnesota. I wondered if I wanted to go with that or if I wanted to go with National Cremation. I had already heard the presentation and it just came down to where I thought the presentation made the most sense for us.

The people at National Cremation were great. I have a fairly good understanding of the funeral industry in that I’m a retired pastor and I’m also an amateur genealogist so I’ve done a lot in that field personally. I felt that the team covered all the bases and they did everything. They said the right things and answered questions. They were also available. Everything’s fine and we got our packages.

First, we received a mailing indicating a presentation at a local restaurant. We called and reserved a spot and when we went to the restaurant on the assigned date, no one was there and the establishment was unaware of any seminar being scheduled. Irene ** contacted us and arranged a private luncheon meeting at the restaurant at a later date. She was very apologetic and after a thorough explanation arranged to finalize our enrollment at our home.

The concerns I have are, even though she explained thoroughly what we were receiving and asked our preferences, she never explained that we did not have to purchase the box and amenities. We clearly told her that we would be having our ashes scattered and did not need all the "memorial amenities". I feel the cost could have been reduced by eliminating these items that we will never use.

Secondly, she indicated that we would receive a check if the reference we provided purchased a plan. I know that my reference did purchase a plan, but I have not received a check. Irene was very informative and I am not complaining about her service, but wish she would have made us aware of all the items, i.e. candle and holder, high end wooden box, etc that will never be used and also followed through with the check for referral.

My husband passed a few weeks ago. A month prior we signed on with NCS. From the first call to schedule a meeting to discuss the details to the hand delivery of his flag after he was cremated, NCS were there for us. They kept in close communication each step and I was able to focus on grieving with my husband's daughter and our granddaughter. I want to compliment the sales agent. Very low-key, informative, patient, knowledgeable. The price seems very fair based on the market. One thing that both my wife and I agree upon, however, is that the ornate box that contained the cremation urn is really not necessary. It looks nice, but really is not necessary. I understand that it makes it appear as if you have purchased something of value, but if we could have reduced our purchase price by electing NOT to have that box, we would have.

I had visited on a friend and heard about National Cremation, so I figured it would be a good idea to have ours done also because we live in Florida but sometimes, we go to Massachusetts for half the time and then we come back here because this is our residence. We figured if something happens, our kids don’t have to do anything. It’d be all done. The lady I worked with was excellent. She took her time. She sat on one side with it on the other side of the table and she explained to us everything. The pricing was good. It was the main thing just to have everything done in case something happened to us, plus, with this virus around, and we’re elderly. So, we figured we’ll just have everything done now.
