Signing up and doing paper work was very easy since representative talked us through it. We ordered biodegradable Urns and unfortunately the wrong urns were shipped to us. We are waiting replacements. We also received a letter within minutes of signing up thanking us for our business (which I thought was a little strange). They might want to think their final salutation on the letter. "Warmest regards" seems a little insensitive from a cremation society.

So far, I have been extremely pleased with my experience in planning for the future with Cremation Society of VA. Harry ** has been so helpful and professional, and this important step is one less thing I have to think about before my life ends. My main objective was to not burden anyone in my family in any way, so, mission accomplished!
I've already recommended CSV to several friends, and I know one has already signed up. Given the present death rate accompanying the corona virus pandemic, I'm making this recommendation to everyone I know who hasn't already made plans. It's something that everyone should be thinking about right now rather than later since so many people have died very unexpectedly.

I discussed options with a funeral home and found the expense too much of a burden. The CSV plan offered options to meet most needs and a program which seemed fiscally responsible. I won't be able to validate their promises but trust in CSV. The travel return home of my body was a positive feature as we plan on out of state travel in retirement. I have referred friends to CSV.

We were very pleased with the process, the necessary paperwork, the information provided and detailed explanation of our preplanned cremation arrangements. I was already fairly well educated about CSV services and costs so called to set up an account and had it wrapped up within 24 hours. In spite of the current COVID isolation, I wanted the travel assurance as the 75 mile radius might not account for both travel and possible relocation as one ages so I think that feature is important for me. If someone doesn't already know a lot about CSV services, I assume the call and contact should be longer and more in depth. They do make the process simple and the funeral business as a whole has a fair amount of regulation so the considerations are pretty straightforward. If you want to preplan your own end of life and want cremation, CSV seems the way to go. I know individual funeral homes provide the same service but locking in a rate now seems prudent and also makes this one less thing my adult child will have to handle.

When my husband suddenly passed away during this Covid 19 epidemic I turned to Cremation Society of VA to carry out his wish to be cremated. Tamara was there to assist. She was a bright light during a very dark time. Tamara was a professional and offered assistance when I needed it most.

In 2012 my husband died after 3 years of suffering from Alzheimers. I signed up and paid for his cremation in advance. This was the best thing I could have done for our family, as everything was taken care of. We had no unexpected or large expenses, and were able to plan a beautiful memorial service for him. We had time to set a date when all the family and friends could attend.

Our mother passed away during the on a Sunday evening. We had not yet made arraignments but with one call at 1:45 in the morning we were able to make contact and with 30 minutes 2 representatives were there to assist us. The next day we met at their offices and they made the entire process very easy and with compassion.

The representative of CSV was very friendly and personable. She showed compassion and willingness to help wherever she could. CSV was able to deliver as promise when promised. However, it was to my disappointment that they did not offer to handle putting the obituaries in the paper.

I do not personally believe in cremation, but when my adult daughter died suddenly I found myself named next of kin responsible for carrying out the stated wishes of both my daughter and boyfriend. We were referred to CSV of Charlottesville, VA, and Director Bobbi Jo ** provided genuine caring and sterling quality service. She made it seem like we were the only family on her client list, but I know she had many more at the same time.

Our experience with CSV was excellent. My Dad died unexpectedly and after a recommendation we contacted CSV to handle the arrangements. This experience has exceeded my expectations in all areas. Liz was very understanding and especially helpful during such a difficult time. She was professional and reassuring for my family as she guided us through options. There were never any "high pressure" sales pitches; I was impressed that Liz really listened to what we wanted and carried through with what she promised. A changed needs to be made on my middle name. Spoke with Bob on 2/14 and he said he would revise it and send revised paperwork showing correct middle name. As of 2/23 I have not received any revisions. Otherwise, it was a fine experience but much different from the Neptune Society in Sherman Oaks, CA when I arranged my husbands needs.

Our family is very grateful for the support, professionalism and kindness of the Cremation Society of Virginia. I met them in 2015 when I bought my cremation package. My father was very ill for two years, he was in hospice care. He told us he wanted to be cremated. I encouraged my sister to make arrangements ahead of time. She was not emotionally ready to do it. When our father died this January, I was afraid that we would have problems arranging his cremation because we had not contacted them for him. They were amazing. We had no problems at all. They were respectful of our pain and were there for us in our moment of sorrow. We are very grateful for their great work, and forever thankful.

At a difficult time when you have lost a loved one the Cremation Society of VA took care of all of the details. Having become a member prior to passing made things even more affordable. Our mother passed very peacefully at home and the Cremation society was notified by Hospice and they arrived within the hour. They honored all of our wishes and were very professional. They respected my mother and listened to us. They inquired about our well being as well. They kept in touch to inform us when the remains could be retrieved along with the death certificates. We did not have to go through any expensive funeral home services.
