I've been a Pepsi drinker for 30 years. Something in the manufacturing of the plastic bottles must have changed, causing a foul smell and a change in taste of the Pepsi. It makes you nauseated if you drink it. What is going on with Pepsi?

I purchased some of these from my local Walmart and the last few have a terrible body odor like smell coming from where the cap goes on the bottle. At first I thought it was my breath or something I just ate but the smell was present on newly opened bottles that I had not drank from yet. It's like trying to enjoy a Pepsi while inhaling raw sewage at the same time. Ruined the experience.

I do not know what is going on with the plastic bottles lately. It is a random issue where the bottle has a horrendous odor similar to body odor. The product smells and tastes fine when removed from the bottle. However, this smell makes the product disgusting to drink in its original packaging. It is not the cap. It is the actual bottle itself. I have found these bottles randomly over the last few months. Not every bottle in the same six pack is affected.

I have 3 cases of 12pack Pepsi and I have opened every box, they are all flat tasting no fizz, Pepsi is always been my favorite drink, but I have been so disappointed with the taste lately, I thought it was just a bad can here and there but 3 cases, this is awful.

I love Pepsi but it's been lacking that fizz I love so much. I understand Pepsi changed up their formula, I think the only change is the amount of CO2. Perhaps they can suspend lesser profitable flavors to put the quality back into the more popular flavors.

For the last 2 months I've noticed an odor when I open a bottle of diet Pepsi. It smells like sweaty feet. I took 4 six packs back to Food Lion and went to Walmart and replaced them. When I opened the new sodas same thing. What's up with diet pepsi all of a sudden?

Yes, Pepsi has gone down the drain. Been a Pepsi drinker for over 35yrs and it's turned to garbage. With research I discovered that the aluminum shortage has made beverage companies cut corners. Is it on purpose to get us to stop buying aluminum, yes.

I've been a customer of Pepsi for over 40 years. Since COVID, supply chains have caused product to be delivered erratically. Meaning you can easily get product that has been stored on the shelves for weeks if not months. After 6-8 weeks Aspartame breaks down and turns good soda into something FOUL!!! It is nothing that you want to drink. Pepsi and Coke which have 90% of the diet market know this. Yet all they are doing is putting a, drink by date, on the boxes that are being sold, and a date code underneath each can. They should realize, and they do, that people need to stock their products for a while when store run sales as that is the way the product is marketed and sold.

This produces more delay before the product is consumed. Between the delays on shelves and the delays we have in using the product there is no time left and at least 1/2 the product consumed can be near to and over the deadlines they specify. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! If you have ever tasted one of these soda you would know why!

I am leaving PEPSI products for good and returning my unopened (4) 12 packs my girlfriend purchased for me tomorrow. They were purchased last week and have an expiration date of 30 days from now. 48 cans of soda in 30 days is not what I intend on drinking nor does that leave me any extra time in case some of it goes bad early. This also does not include and extra time for mishandled product in warehouses or in the truck while in the heat.

When Aspartame goes bad, it possibly can lead to cancer causing agents and I am no longer going to deal with this situation. I am an engineer and I have engineered my own solution to this situation, and it no longer will involve any PEPSI products. It will be, purchase on demand, a resealable product, that will reduce my intake of soda, and be small enough to keep refrigerated to keep longevity intact. SCREW PEPSI for ever letting this happen. There are many people here and other places on the web that have reviewed their situation. I am only 1 of many. Shame on PEPSI for destroying the Royalty we've had with them over the years.

Splenda or Sucralose is a readily available, suitable, substitute for Aspartame and it doesn't degrade like Aspartame does. There are plenty of ways to fix this, but obviously PEPSI doesn't care. Just look on the web and see the reviews. I found them because I had to know why DIET PEPSI tasted SO BAD!!!! When you get a can of this **, you'll know what I'm talking about. GOOD LUCK. ** PEPSI !

I made the change from Coke to Pepsi about 2 years ago. I buy at least 10 six packs of the 16oz bottles every week and I started to notice a problem about 6 months ago. At first I would find about one bottle out of the 60 or so each week was slightly opened, flat and had dried Pepsi around the ring around the mouth of the bottle. Now it’s gotten so bad that when I purchased five six-packs last weekend, almost two total six-packs were this way. The bottles are easy to squeeze and misshapen, completely flat, covered in old Pepsi that has leaked through the ringed seal and old, dark brown Pepsi inside of the caps. When you grab onto them to remove them from the plastic holding the six-pack together, the bottle squeezes back and forth and Pepsi comes out of the “seal”.

I’ve had about enough of this. It’s frustrating to spend that much per six-pack and only be able to drink a little over half of what you purchased. Also, some of the ones that don’t have these issues have a strange taste. It’s not all of them, but one or two per six-pack taste like when you order a fountain drink and the syrup has almost run out.

Something really needs to change because I’m getting tired of throwing money down the drain, especially when I changed from being a life long, die-hard Coke drinker. There has to be issues at the processing plant. I would advise not to purchase Pepsi until they address this issues. Every time I grab one from the fridge it’s like playing roulette. Will I get a normal one or one that’s a potential health hazard? What’s even more odd is that it only happens to the 16 oz bottles. I try to buy the eight-packs of the 12 oz bottles instead, but it’s twice as expensive as the 16 oz for the exact same amount of soda. I really miss my Pepsi so I hope this is all corrected.

I have been a loyal Pepsi drinker all my life. Recently it has been tasting awful. Now I learned you changed the formula. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The stuff isn't fizzer. It just tastes bad and flat. The pepsi bite is gone.

I have been a loyal Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry drinker since they first came out with it and loved it; the taste was absolutely fantastic. I even wrote to Pepsi and told them so. My last few bottles, different things were happening. I bought a set of little bottles and they were flat (not out of date). My 2 liter bottles tasted and smelled different. There was a definite fragrance. The taste was horrible. It tasted like Soda Stream black cherry, which is disgusting. They must have either changed the formula (in which case I won't drink it anymore) or something is wrong in their manufacturing plant. I wrote to Pepsi Co but haven't had a response yet.

I have drank Diet Pepsi for over 30 years…. And the past few months it tastes awful. It has a very bad chemical / perfume taste. I thought it was just a bad case, but that wasn’t it. I literally can’t drink it anymore. My family and friends have said the same thing. So disappointed. What changed?

I was laughed at, when I refused their complementary coupon, and was told they have no time to deal with customer issues or concerns. Took 3 weeks to get a response. IF THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED IN CONCERNS ABOUT PRODUCT ISSUES, I no longer wish to be a customer after 50 years.

I have always preferred Pepsi max over other brands. Something must have changed in the recipe because Pepsi now tastes like metal. It's really nasty and undrinkable. This is from a plastic bottle too.

I have been drinking Pepsi since I was 5. I am now 20. Recently as in the last month every other Pepsi I have bought have tasted either flat but also carbonated at the same time which I thought was weird or it tasted powdery. It didn't matter if it was in bottle or can but it started to become more common in cans. At first I thought it was just me but even my boyfriend said it tasted off.

To put it simply, I am so dissatisfied with Pepsi now, that I went through the time and effort to make an account specifically to write a bad review...That's how gross it is now. Like everyone below me, I also have been a Pepsi drinker my entire life...My whole family are Pepsi drinkers, but this last year has caused most of us to switch to Dr.pepper or even coca-cola.. I thought I was going crazy and that it was my taste buds...However I did a Google search today and Pepsi admits that they changed their recipe to be "more fizzy and less sweet to compete more with coca-cola".

Stupidest thing Pepsi has ever done..ruin your best selling drink for all the people that actually bought it, hoping other people that don't buy it will decide to buy it? Totally illogical. (Also, caramel coloring was linked to cancer so that was another thing that changed in the recipe, but every pop brand changed their recipe if they had caramel color.)

I have been a Pepsi drink all my life. Loved it until this past year. I have gotten really bad Pepsi. Swear when you take the top off the whole thing comes off. A little ring does not stay off bottle smells at the top and the pop is disgusting. You cannot pour it into the glass is still is disgusting and makes you sick. I don't know what the smell is. Don't know why it's when the whole lid comes off but it is bad can I get them every time and I'm getting tired of it cuz it's wasting my money. I'm get a six-pack and sometimes all of them are bad or maybe one or two or bad. You never know until you open them. Please do something about it. Pepsi is my favorite.

I've been a Pepsi product drinker for many many years and I must admit, I've always enjoyed every sip until the last drop. But this year I've noticed that Pepsi products leave an extremely offal taste in my mouth. This taste is stale and Undescribable. At first, I thought it was just me, then other family members started saying the same thing. I considered that maybe us testing positive for Covid-19 in January may be the cause for the weird taste, but my brother-in-law who never tested positive said that the pop just doesn't taste the same. With that being said, it's either my brother-in-law was positive and didn't know it which means his taste buds are thrown off as well and that would explain why Pepsi products taste weird or Pepsi changed something in their products. Either way, I'm not buy Pepsi products until it returns back to the natural great product it once was.

I buy regular 6 pk Pepsi at 5 for 10 dollars. In my last batch I have come across so far 3 out of one 6 pack that are flat. I don't see any date on these bottles.. and the caps all look deformed in a way,, that the top doesn't match ring when tightening down,, that might be the problem. I know they are a solid piece when put on but appears they might be warped thus causing leakage of the carbonation and the flatness. Can I take these all back to the store and get my money back or replacements? I drink them within a few weeks times so it's not like a year has passed.. I am almost afraid to buy any more Pepsi products..

I've been drinking Pepsi all my life, in fact it's been my soda of choice up until recently. I'm not sure if PepsiCo changed the flavor or what but this year I recently bought a 12 pack. It's tasted very strange.. Almost off-putting so I didn't drink the rest. Can someone explain the taste change? If this keeps up I may have to switch brands..??

I have been an everyday Pepsi drinker since my early 20's, I am now 59. Since Last year I noticed that my Pepsi did not taste right but I am addicted so I kept drinking it every day. But since December I have had an acid taste in my mouth and if I burp I feel like a fire breathing dragon. I think they must have changed something in the recipe. I was put on a prescription for ** but that has not helped still feel nauseated a lot. So today I decided to try to go without my Pepsi. I still taste acid taste but not as bad and not so nauseated today. If I feel even better tomorrow then I will know for sure it was the Pepsi. Pepsi will lose one of its biggest customers. I should own the company by now with all the Pepsi I have drank through the years.

I instantly throw up after every drink. It smells terrifying. It was the last can in the 12 pack. It even is miscolored. I love Pepsi. Not anymore. I'm scared to even drink soda of any kind now. It's scary.

My kids were eating a bag of Funyuns and handed me a Funyun with a part of a Roach cooked into it. Turns out Frito-Lay is owned by PepsiCo. Which makes Cheetos (along with Fritos, Doritos, and Sun Chips) etc..

I recently bought a pack of Pepsi mini cans and I noticed a strange taste. I’m not sure if they changed it but it taste awful after you take a sip. Almost like patchouli. I also tried a coke and got that exact taste after taking a sip too. Pepsi was much worse though. I probably won't be buying any soda anytime soon, this taste ruined it for me.

Hi. I will never ever suggest anyone to work with this company. Getting service from Pompano Beach, FL location Struggle from last two or I would say more. PepsiCo know this better. TODAY I spend more than 1 hour (Called 1800-963-2424, 1800-656-2121, 954-422-3415). I have people name I spoke with. Spoke with 6 associates) to get an answer because you know NO ONE AUTHORIZE TO DO ANYTHING in pepsico. I knew that it will take more time and I was not calling them for time crunch.

First I called to repair, they come multiple times after my multiple requests and could not repair. Surprisingly I only come to know the machine not working while I visit my location. Never got call or anything from Pepsico that what is going on. I told them to remove the machine. They never come to pick up yet as I said NO ONE AUTHORIZE TO DO ANYTHING. I requested long time back to them to pick up the product which never used again. NO ONE AUTHORIZE TO DO ANYTHING.

I do not understand why these people are on call if they could not make any decision. This is motel and my guest are struggling to get soft drinks, I am getting impact on my service/business. I have to listen bad comment from my guest because of PEPSICO. As they say they take all issue very seriously. Hope on this they will learn something. I will make sure no one in my friends and family use Pepsi service. Good thing about this company is they will call you regularly for orders but if you need any other service, you will struggle and struggle and struggle.

Opened a mini can of Pepsi from a six pack. The drink was completely flat. No fizz, pep, or carbonation. The expire date was good for a year. Opened another can from the same six pack and the same results as the first can. Tried the last can of the pack and it was flat as well.

I've been drinking Mt. Dew for years, but lately like the past 3 months the after taste tastes like Pepsi. Had my boyfriend who drinks sugar free dew try a drink and he said the same thing. Thought it was the 12 pack I had bought so I went to a different store and picked one with a diff date and the same thing, PEPSI!!!! Please fix, I love my dew!!!!

I thought it was the case that I just purchased and I even checked the date under the can. I threw one can out because I thought it was the ice. Drank another can without ice and still same nasty taste. Went to my mother in laws a week later and drank a Pepsi and same nasty taste. My sister in law said she taste the same thing. What did you so differently and change it back. Cherry Pepsi tastes normal but that regular is just nasty.
