Consumer Complaints and Reviews
I got a small loan and they told me it will be there the next morning. I never got the money then when I call to tell them I never got the money. They put me on hold and did not come back and hung up the line. I call back and finally spoke with somebody. It was a lady. She says the money comes from Canada. I was surprise I never knew such thing. So please everyone be aware of loan companies. They're taking advantage of people when they are really in need of cash. Also Lend Me Now and ViP Loan has the same number then they forget and say the wrong company name. Their number 1-866-598-1100.
Applied for the loan & they were all helpful & nice. 2 days later still no funds. Sent several emails -- no response. Tried to do a "Live Chat" - not available. Called & was put on hold for an eternity. If I get the money will have them take it right back. I will dispute any interest they try to charge me. Never again, but then I should be getting loans from these quick loan places anyway.
I called this company yesterday to request a $300 payday loan. I am on Social Security and after paying rent did not have enough to buy food. Everything seemed fine, until their 3 way call - including me - to my bank. My bank info was given to them, then I heard the salesman tell my bank representative that "the money is coming from Canada". I thought that was strange, but the bank person gave him a code for out of the country. I even paid $15 for the money to be direct deposited within 3 hours.
Well, it must have been MAILED from Canada because here it is, more than 24 hours after my application and the money is not in my account. I have called them at least 4 times and emailed 5. No customer service number, and when I did talk to someone he had to transfer me and I was on hold for 15 minutes and hung up. I have not heard from them and do not think I will. I am closing my bank account today and already have my direct deposits going to another bank. I am sure that they will try to take money from the old bank soon.
I am a victim of identity theft. They don't believe me. They said the money was deposited into my account and payments were made out of my account for at least 5 months. I believe they're taking advantage of me. I was in the hospital having bypass surgery and other complications during this time. Now they're threatening me with court if I don't pay.
These guys are deceptive. They spoofed a local phone number. Said it was because some customers complained about being charged. After looking on here, will not do business with them at all. Wouldn't give terms of the loan either.

On 2.20.14, I called The VIP Loan Shop to pay off my loan. The following Monday the 23rd they had taken the payment amount of $422.50 out of my account twice as far as pending transaction showed. After calling them, they made correction to my account. Now they are taking the money from my account again and have removed $115.00 pending.
Took a loan out for 100.00 and I paid it off but now they say it's was just interest I paid. Now they want to sue me and asking for 1400.00 now. Never again will I do that again.. rip people off ... not right.
I was in a real bind and felt hopeless about my financial situation and they offered a solution for my hardship. I asked many clarifying questions and I was led to believe that after paying their absurd finance fee 4x I would be able to begin paying down 100% toward the principal payment and not. I am told that is not the case at all and I should have read my contract better so basically for a $500.00 loan I have already paid them $1000.00 in financial fees and I was told today when questioning their ethics and laws for payday loans that they are not bound by US laws. They operate out of another country. I was not aware of that either. I feel compelled to notify people that they are ripping people off.
They kept pressuring me to switch to debit instead of bank draft. I did not want the back draft changes and give them my debit card number. They then said they were giving away a tablet computer every day basically saying in so many words that I would get one if I switched. I have never received anything except more charges. To this date, I have had $1,135 in fees and they will not let me pay it off before my next payment date because they will get another 75 dollars. I owe $250 left on my original loan and when it is finally completed, I will have paid them $1,210 in fees on a $500 loan. This has to be illegal. I'm going to get to the bottom of this.
I took out a loan and when you try to make contact to have them take out principal instead of just finance fees they don’t answer the phone. You are on hold forever but if you call and pretend you want to take out a loan then you actually get to talk to someone. Then when they figure out that you are trying to pay more, they send you to someone else who puts you on hold and never answers. Then again if you don’t notify 3 days before loan is due then they refuse to take anything other than the huge finance fees - $30.00 on every $100.00. They have been filling up my inbox for the last 3 weeks stating that they no longer do bank ACH withdrawals and they are asking me for my debit card number to keep on file. I am not sure what is up but there was no payment taken last pay period. A blessing perhaps that may or may not turn into a nightmare.
I authorized VIP Loan to take 100 dollars out of my account. I owed $150, however, they stated to me that all they were required to take was $100. Okay, I gave them my debit card information. They took the 100 dollars, on Friday they took 50 dollars without my authority. I did not okay this amount to be taken. They are scheduled to take $150 out on the 31st of this month. This is the second time that they have taken money out of my account leaving my account in a negative, refusing to pay back the money they took plus the overdraft fee that was caused by them stealing my money without authorization.
I notified my bank and they put it as a fraud by the VIP Loan department. I think the company needs to pay back all the money that they have taken out of the accounts of consumers which is considered theft on VIP behalf. They need to either pay back to us all our overdrafts that they cause and/or they need to be shut down. I am still on hold with them and it is 11:45 am. I am in Ohio. I have been back and forth on the phone with them and I am still waiting to see if they will refund me my 50 dollars back to my account. The stockholders need to be alerted about the people that they hold stock because they mistreat and abuse people like me and others for their own benefit.
Borrowed $700.00 and could not get them on the phone to tell them to take total amount of loan out of my bank account 3 days prior to the due date. Could not find an email address for them either. Them on the east coast and me on Pacific Standard Time and their office hours gave me a very small window to contact them. When I finally got a customer rep I was told too bad. Not their problem that I could not get through to them. Now the $700.00 is costing me $420 a month for the next 5 months. What a rip off. Stay away from these heartless **.
Took money out that was not there and I don't like it and then they don't honor their word at all. And I told them I don't want the loan and they put it in my account anyway. Then said to call Monday to stop them from putting the money into my account and they did it anyway. So I email them and no answer. So I will stop them from getting anymore of my money.
The VIP loans company are crooks. Anybody even thinking about borrowing from them should beware. They make the loan sound like it is a temporary solution to your problem when in reality they are an added burden. I took a loan out for $500, made 7 minimum payments of $250 (you do the math) & I still owe them $552. Hmm... something is wrong here.
I checked my bank balance yesterday morning, the way I do every day since my ATM card account number was stolen a couple of years ago, a habit I've gotten into. I was $500 richer?! So I went online (called the bank to check balance, etc.) to find out where the $500 came from. It was from VIP Loan Shop. I never ever asked for a loan from these people, had to google them to find out who the heck they were! They even had my bank account information incorrect! I have no idea how they got my information, but they are fraudulent. Do not do business with these people. It is a total scam! After fighting three times on the phone with these people and talking to my bank (they were extremely helpful!), the money has been sent back from whence it came. I can't believe that companies are able to do this. I'd still love to know where they got my information! Stay away from them!
Please don’t use this company. They are a ripoff. Go and get the money from a friend. I got a loan for $300. So far, they have taken $325 out of my account, but they say I still owe $475.
I took out a loan for $500 over a year ago, and when I called to try to talk to them, as I have long ago paid off my loan in fees alone, they say I haven't even started to touch my principal yet. I just want them stopped.
When dealing with these folks, go ahead and bend over. They fail to tell you up front that the principle only pays down after several weeks. For $600 you will pay $180 every two weeks until after 10 weeks. Then they decrease the principle by 5% each time. The net cost for the $600 if paid out this way will be over $3000. Local payday loans are much more suited and should be used.
I borrowed $500 from VIP Loan Shop. I was charged the same finance fee as everyone else. But if you read the fine print, you would know that you would be given a certain amount of money and would be responsible to pay the entire loan amount plus their fees! Regardless of how high their fees are, you signed it, you borrowed the money, and you owe it all back! I dislike the high loan repayment fees. But again, I borrowed the money! Own your actions please!
In May of 2011, I accepted a loan of $600 with a finance charge of $180, a total of $780. Since then, this company has been debiting my account every two weeks at $180 each time, and they are telling me I haven't even touched the principal and they will continue to do so. I have been trying to negotiate a payment plan to avail now, as I stated to them that I cannot sustain $180 being debited in such frequency. I was told I would be referred to a supervisor, and I'm still waiting. These people are just getting free money from me, and now I'm worse of than when I started, before accepting this loan out of desperation. They need to be stopped.
I needed money desperately in November 2010 and borrowed $300. Since then, they have deducted $180 from my bank account each month. I closed that account and they were still able to deduct even after I told my bank not to allow them to touch my account. After hours on with phone with Wells Fargo, I begged them to close the account and not allow any further deductions. They actually told me that VIP will still be able to make further deductions and they actually won't let me close my own account because VIP still wants to deduct. I want to stop them and just payoff the loan but how can I do this now? I've requested an address to VIP and will just pay that $300. I have already paid the $800 in fees. These people should not be allowed to do this. Please help me!
Pay day loan for amount of $400 as of 8/13, they have take $720 from me. Above what was supposed to be paid to them. Want them to stop taking money from me. Going to bank to put stop on them removing money from my account.
