Consumer Complaints and Reviews
A company called DCI called me out of the blue saying there was a complaint filed against me. After asking several times they told me it was a complaint by PayDayOne and that I had taken a loan out from them in 2012. They said I owed them over $1900. I never took a payday loan out from anyone in that year, or in the next. I did take out a payday loan once in 2014 and paid it right off the next paycheck. I was told by DCI that I would have to go to court to prove I didn't owe this company. Logically, you can't prove a negative. The burden is on the company to prove that I owe them.
When I asked why I had not received any letters or phone calls about this "debt" that I owed I was told that I had been contacted by email and since I had not responded I was sent to collections. When I asked why the collections company never sent mail or called me they told me, again, that they had contacted me by email. No collections agency would only contact a debtor only by email. They would send several letters and make phone calls. I told them to talk to my attorney, gave them my lawyer’s # and hung up. After checking into it my lawyer informed me that this is a fraud scheme by someone to scare people into paying quick settlements for hundreds of dollars. Don't let them scare you into a settlement and DON'T give them ANY personal information.
I began getting emails from an ** stating that I was being taken to court after several attempts to reach me. Supposedly I owe $1150 and they had a list of derogatory things that would happen to me if I didn't pay. I started researching and found all of these complaints. Don't fall for this scam. I actually had a few back and forth emails trying to get to the bottom of this and all she would say is that it was going to court. Looking back through the emails, the verbal used is broken English. This is what made me suspect.
Received a call from a gentleman identifying himself as Officer ** with County Sheriff stating he has to serve me with a citation but he cannot get to my premise within the allotted time. He stated I would need to come to the county jail, get booked (photoed & fingerprinted), spend the night in county jail, & see the judge in the morning. I asked in regards to what? He referred me to 855-214-1116 which turns out to be a debt collecting service Tristate Legal Outsourcing. Another gentleman answered the call identifying himself as Attorney **. ** states he's collecting on behalf of an online payday loan I received in 2012.
I remembered I had a loan with PayDay One 3 years ago. ** was rude, told me I was "living off the state & taxpayers". Told me I'd go to jail & then hung up on me. The officer called me back & offered to contact the person & work out a "payment arrangement" on my behalf. I contacted my local county sheriff's office & was told I have no warrants out for my arrest & if there was a warrant, the officer would not call me but rather come to my home & arrest me. They also informed me, county officers do not do any payment arrangements/negotiations with debt collectors. I attempted to contact PayDay One & learned they are no longer in business. Please do research if you ever receive these types of calls. They had my SS#; maybe they are a legitimate collecting agency using poor tactics to get money.
I keep getting emails from a ** from an f.c.i agency saying that I owe 1,150 dollars to PayDayOne and that I will have to go to court and have my wages garnished if I don't pay. I mean they have my social and everything. I don't remember ever owing this money, and I am pretty sure it's a scam. They say that I will be removed from my job and that my credit will be ruined. Should I report this?
I have recently started receiving emails supposedly from this company "Payday One". I have never done business with this company, but the emails state that I owe them $1150.00 and if I do not pay this amount, they are taking me to criminal court and suing me for ALMOST $10,000.00. They have all my personal information to include my SSN, and drivers license number. These emails have been quite rude and harassing. I have never received any calls, or notices by USPS. I have no idea how this company got all my personal information, or what I can do to stop this.

Pretrial processing called me about a loan from 5 years ago. Said I owed 757 dollars then they had my SS# and bank, very scary. Don't send them money. Scam, not even idian.
I received an email today from someone named Jason ** threatening to sue me for the "long overdue balance of $1,150" I borrowed and didn't repay. I have never borrowed any money from Payday One but they have the last 4 of my social and my email address. About a year ago I began filling out an application for a loan but never followed through, never received any money. Shortly after that I received a collection phone call from a man with a heavy Asian accent claiming that I'd defaulted on the loan. I contacted the Internet fraud unit of the FBI and filed a complaint. Now today I receive an email threatening to sue me. Watch out for this company. Don't fill out an application or they'll try to collect money you didn't borrow.
I have been receiving emails from this guy named jay ** his email address is **... Now this guy claims that I am taking out a loan from payday one and failed to pay it back. Now when you change addresses the post office all the mail goes to the current address. He says that they have sent me numerous USPS mail about this which I have never received. He also has a case number, he has my old address and my social security number. His email is already suspicious enough it being at a Google Mail account, being a gmail account I mean with the letters FCI for financial crimes investigation.
He says that I owe $1,150 and if I don't comply and send the money that all, the documents will be given to the court and I will be taken to court and I will have to pay around $10,000. I emailed them back and ask them for proof and everything and he hasn't given it to me. He is ignoring any information that I have requested and continues to threaten me and has given me certain amount of time to comply and send money which I will not do. I googled his name-- all that comedy is scam. I also have read that payday has a lot of Fraud complaints against them. I have all my bank statements and everything.
Took a loan out in 2010 for $350. Repaid a ridiculous amount that I was unaware of the exuberant fees. I knew the fees would be high because of the nature of the business, but their fees were really insane! Now it's Dec 2014 and I just received a call from a company claiming I didn't repay my $500 loan and I bounced a check over state lines. They claim paydayone loans sold them my account and now this company can do whatever they want with my account. I was told I needed to pay 1,700.00 in restitution or it would go to litigation. Knowing this had to be a scam, I politely said ok. Let it go to litigation. She ended the call. She calls back 2 minutes later screaming at me about being rude and not caring that I took a loan out & did not pay it back. Again, certain this is either a scam or at the very most misinformation, I said politely ok and she hung up angrily.
I checked and I have my bank statements from 2010 showing the loan I took out & it being paid off. It wasn't for 500 and no check was ever written. It was all direct deposit & auto withdraw. The only thing that scares me is this person calling had my email, home address, phone no, work info, and scariest yet my social security number. How does this happen! ugh! As shady as these online loan shark companies can be- don't use them! I can't even find a phone number or any contact info to call them to question any of this. Only phone number is an automated loan request hotline. Unreal!!!
They contacted me about 3 months ago but I never answered. Then about 2 weeks they contacted me about a long term loan. Told me I could get $1000 and pay off in months. We talked about $3000 loan payoff in 18 months, then I agreed but before they said they needed a processing fee, which they never mentioned before. I sent them $200 and my bank info. I was told that I needed insurance in case my loan defaulted. I sent them $345 about 1 pm, then they said they never got it but I called the money pak (green dot) and they assured me they did. Next the owner came on and said, "there were some mistake, please resend" and after talking with the finance dept he would reimburse me, but would I please resend with another purchase of 345, which stupidly did. Then I was told I need to send 370 for Western Union fee because there was a problem with my account. That when I realize the scam that was being played and I told them as much. Since I had been a member of BOA of 20 plus years. I told them I would put this on consumer affairs and anywhere else I can. I shall contact the Texas Attorney General office as well.
I applied for a loan for $100.00. First they ask me to show that I could pay the first installment for $180.00. Then an activation fee for $130.00. A transfer fee for $130.00. Another transfer fee from San Diego to North Carolina for 140.00. Then I was told after they received $110.00. They stated that I need to send another $130.00. Now Oliver ** is telling me that I need to send $145.00 in order to receive a Western Union. I have purchase theses Green Dot MoneyPaks. I still have not received the loan. I believe that they have scammed. Their number is **.
I had a phone call for a loan. The rep's name is Tim ** and the phone number is **. I was approved for $1000 to $6000. I haven't applied for a loan for a year, so I was curious and took part in the call to see what he was offering. They had a lot of my personal info. Last four of SS, address, employer and such. They said because of my bad credit that I would have to prove I can make a payment. To do that they asked me to put money on a Green Dot Money Pak voucher. I asked him how I would get my money off the voucher because I needed to use that money for a bill first thing. He told me it was no trouble. Told them I couldn't do that right now. They told me tomorrow was ok. So I got off the phone and checked on the voucher pack he spoke about and then knew it was a scam.
I called him back and called his bluff. He got irate with me and said he was glad they hadn't given me the loan yet. I told him I canceled the card number I gave him, reported him to BBB and LifeLock account. I did not give them any money. If the offer sounds too good to be true it usually is.
I too was scammed by PayDayOne Loans - I lost $200. They told me to send them as good faith amount on $3000 approved loan. These are Indian guys and will even e-mail you a document saying you are approved and that the funds will be in your account in 45 minutes IF you go and Put $200 on a Green Dot PayPal card and give them the number from back of the card. that. Then when the funds were not deposited in my account they wanted me to pay an additional $365 to buy their life insurance policy because they claim it is required by the rules. So when I tried to cancel and demand my $200 back, they began laughing and said they were not scared if I reported it to site www.IC3.gov, that is the FBI site, and also report it to the Texas Attorney General. You will not be refunded by PayPal, they say the funds go to a person whose info and social they know but they will not refund you.
As a result of being screwed by Payday One I was out $260.00 that I had already paid in. Ricky ** is a liar and a cheat and is no one that anyone should do business with. I was approved for a $2000 loan and after the approval they told me I had to come up with $125 for this loan so I did that. Then they turn around and tell me I had to pay an additional $130 more for this loan and I paid that to. Then to top that of that they want me to pay an additional $225 to buy their life insurance policy because they claim it is required by the rules. So when I tried to cancel the loan they refused to cancel the loan and refused to refund my money I paid in.
I got suspicious when I ran a web search on this company and could not find nothing on the internet for this company. Then name of this company is Payday One. I tried several different spellings for this company and found nothing. The guy I dealt with his name is Ricky ** phone #**. I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin. I am also looking into hiring an attorney to sue this company as well too. So if there is an attorney that is handling this let me know.
I was ripped off $1220.00. They say I was approved for a $5000 loan. Submitted a $245 payment first, Then they say IRS wouldn't release the funds. Needed to submit another $488. They said I could do it in 2 payments using the Green Dot card....$200 and then $288. Then get a call IRS needed 1 payment on the card. They are holding the money. Had to submit a $488 payment on one card, My dumb ass did it again because I was already invested. They say all was approved. Then comes the biggie. The bank of Chargo holding the money. They need another $500. I said hell no I want my refund. No go....This company is a scam for the desperate... I got screwed... Be aware.....Who can I contact besides the BBB.
I have gotten a loan from Paydayone about 3 times over the years. I've never had a problem with them. But reading some of your reviews it sounds like you are talking to some scam artist who may not work for them and are trying to get your money. When getting these calls be careful not to give at important information as they should have all your information on record. Don't give your full social; maybe the last 4 digits.
There is no private criminal prosecution in the U.S. Only DA or the U.S. Attorney or other prosecutor can "press charges." Failure to repay a loan is a civil matter, not criminal. In some states, if you wrote a check knowing it was no good, that would be a crime, but many prosecutors refuse to prosecute bad check cases from those lenders because they knowingly accepted the bad check. Yes you can be sued for not paying as you agreed, but that does not result in a sentence. Please be careful with paying someone who can not show you paperwork & you know you did not get this loan.
I had an investigator call me and he said I had a loan with PayDayOne back in March of 2011 and I never had that loan. I pulled my bank statements from then and there is no deposit from PayDayOne on them. A man from a co. is telling me that I can be arrested and go to court for this loan and I would have to prove I didn't get this loan. I have asked the man, Mr. **, to send me paperwork to prove this to me and never got it. I have asked 4 times so far. They ask me to settle this loan for $500 and I did agree to this because I don't want to be arrested as I am 63 yrs. old and have never been in trouble in my life. They have all my information from my bank acct. number, social security number and other personal information about me. They have taken $115.00 from my bank acct. and want the other $415.00 on the 23rd. of this month. They said you have to pay $15.00 fees for these payments. I want to know if you can help me before the 23rd so I know what to do. Please help me as I live on a fixed income and money is tight with me to get through the month.
At approx. 4:00 pm EST, I received a phone call from my 83-year-old mother who was highly upset due to a call she received from a gentleman stating that he was calling on behalf of Pay Day One in regards to non-payment on a loan that I have with them. My mother informed the gentleman that I did not live there. The gentleman asked my mother to relay a message to me, that I was going to be arrested on 3 counts of fraud and other charges. Along with my arrest, the persons listed on my application as references would be charged as well. When I called the gentleman, he repeated what he told my mother. I informed the gentleman that I had consolidated my loans and he could contact the company handling the matter.
After disconnecting the call, I checked my voice mail and found that I had a voice mail from a gentleman stating that he was calling from the New Castle County Courthouse and instructed me to call the number that I had just called and speak to someone concerning these charges. I tried to reach the gentleman at the courthouse using the number on my caller ID but was unable to reach him. The phone did not ring; I only heard a long beep as if it was a fax number.
I needed a large loan, so I could pay off some bills and stuff. I have fairly bad credit, so this was one of my few options of choice. I was able to get a loan of about $1000.00 from PayDayOne.com. I signed up on the 3rd and was told I'd get my deposit on the 4th. When I got up and noticed I never got my deposit, I checked my account and discovered that they had already charged me interest on a loan I haven't got yet. I called them up and asked where my money was, and they told me I wouldn't get it until tomorrow. I asked them why they charged me interest for a loan I didn't get yet, and they informed me they start charging interest from the first day I sign up, even if I haven't gotten my money yet and they refused to expedite my deposit. So from the very beginning, they started ripping me off.
Third call to garnish my wages and/or suspend my driver's license for non-payment. I made the loan and closed my account. Well, I have a settlement company that settled with PayDayOne and they are faxing information to this EDW each time to show it is settled. This happened months ago. Now these threats and they are calling me at work, I have requested they stop. State of Texas, they cannot garnish wages and suspend license. What does that have to do with debt? If I lose my job because of these calls...
I applied for a Payday loan on about 7-1-10. I was told via computer screen that I was approved for $1000. I checked my bank account next morning no funds deposited. Called Payday One. I was advised to send more information, copy of bank statement, paystub, voided personal check. I faxed all of that information. Still no funds deposited. 4th of July weekend and holiday passed. On Monday, the 5th and the 6th, I checked and still nothing. I called Payday One. Again they advised me to send letter with my bank account and last 4 digits of SS number stating I gave permission to Payday One to debit and credit my account, which I did. Still no funds deposited.
I called my bank because Payday One said my bank was sending funds back because I had put a stop payment on payment to Payday One in March of this year. Peoples Bank advised no stop payment on my account only reason funds would be sent back is because no account number on the wire transfer. I am now overdrawn in checking account because I have been looking for the deposit since last Friday July 2nd. Payday One now is telling me I have to send another letter with my account number, routing number, social security number and signed giving them permission to debit and credit my account.
My account was debited by them on March 16th, 26th and April 16th to pay back the payment I put a stop payment on. Why can Payday One debit but not credit my account? I have documents to back up what I am telling you. I think Payday One needs to reimburse my for the nearly $300 in OD charges on my bank account for giving me the runaround for nearly a week.
I took out a Pay Day Loan with this company. I recently received notice that they no longer service Pennsylvania, and received an email that they would be withdrawing money from my checking account on a day that I did not approve. I called and spoke with someone and explained that my pay dates are every other Friday (which they were already aware of). They told me they could not change the date because I live in Pennsylvania? I had to close my bank account because not only am I being charged a ridiculous rate from PayDay One, I will also be charged $35 from my bank because of insufficient funds?
