First Citizen Rock Hill Herlong location. My experience with First Citizens Bank was extremely disappointing. I visited a branch to cash a check issued by a company that banks with First Citizens, and the process was handled very poorly. First, I was informed that the branch did not have sufficient funds available to cash the check. The explanations I received were inconsistent, and staff appeared unfamiliar with how to properly process the request. Communication throughout the interaction was lacking, and no clear guidance was provided.
What concerned me most was the way I was treated. Rather than being assisted professionally, I felt as though I was being viewed with suspicion and treated as if I had presented a fraudulent check. The situation became increasingly frustrating due to the lack of transparency and customer service. Based on this experience, I found the branch staff to be unprepared, poorly informed, and unwilling to provide clear answers. Unfortunately, this interaction left me with a very negative impression of First Citizens Bank.

Horrible bank and the Charlottesville branch is staffed by unprofessional, lazy, unreliable, racists. They are also ignorant and rude. Do not bank at this dangerous bank. They have manipulated Zelle so that it withholds access to your bank accounts… Scary and outrageous!!!!

I was dumb enough to keep first citizens accounts for 15 years, while they robbed me nickel and diming everything, lying about overdraft policies and the tellers just being general weirdos. But my final straw is truly with the response to bank fraud, they don't care, they are proud they don't care and they hope it happens to you again. Be smarter than me and don't put your money there.

I had to give them a 1 star because 0 star was not available. Too many bad things to even mention. They have a low rating because people tell the truth. Take everyone's advice and bank somewhere else.

Purchased a vehicle for my business. Signed all the documents, took possession of the vehicle. First Citizens called me back to let me know they were cancelling my business loan because my business is in the firearms industry. The loan officer said, "We are a very conservative bank, so we don't do business with any related to firearms". Sounds like the complete opposite of conservative. Their choice, at least I know. Hate to give them a dime in interest.

Thieves! They literally steal from you. They claimed we owed money to them AFTER THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED after we already paid other fees they claimed we incurred. 3 times we had to ‘pay them off’. Today was the 3rd. This is equivalent to mafia activity. Do not bank with these people. You will have so many regrets.

We had banked with FCB for almost 3 yrs. We had our concerns the first time things were moved around in our account to make it where we were overdraft. They denied it. This happened however at least 4 maybe 5 other times, the last time being a week ago after I went in to close our account. Then Lynn the lady who spoke to husband lied about how I responded about our account. Saying I was mad and raising my voice. First off I was irritated and believe me if I was mad they would have known. Then I was also lied to to in that I was told they would call before officially closing the account and they didn't. I don't appreciate being lied about and I don't appreciate people playing games with my money. I'll never recommend First Citizens to anyone.

AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS!! We recently purchased a used car that, regrettably, was financed through First Citizens. Weeks after purchasing the vehicle, and with the due date fast approaching, I had received ZERO information from them (payment book, account number, etc.) on how to pay, so I called their falsely labeled "customer support" number. There, I learned the following: 1. Some clown, despite having all the information from the contract with the dealer, entered an address and phone number (WHICH WERE NOWHERE ON THE PAPERWORK) from an address we hadn't lived at for over 20 years "explaining" why I hadn't received any payment information.
2. When I pointed out their error, the representative I was talking to was so clueless that I had to demand to speak to a supervisor, who actually managed to get the information changed. 3. When they finally fixed their massive error, I TRIED to set up automatic payments, but was told I couldn't because their system wouldn't allow that UNTIL 30 DAYS AFTER A PHONE NUMBER CHANGE! They entered the incorrect information, then had the outrageous audacity to tell me that they couldn't fix the error in their system without requiring that I wait. That was when I decided to transfer the loan to my credit union, and where the disaster that is First Citizens continued unabated.
4. When I called them to request a standard 15-day payoff letter be emailed to me, the representative I was talking to that day told me that they could mail me one. I told them I didn't want to wait, so I asked how I could have it emailed to me. I was given an email address to make the request, and told it would take a few days to process.
5. Three business days after sending the email, I called AGAIN, and this time the representative was competent enough to call the loan department. He informed me that the letter had been mailed (despite my specifically requesting otherwise), and that the email option I was told to use was ONLY FOR BANKS, DEALERSHIPS, ETC. That was the last in the string of errors and lies. So far. If you are foolish enough to do business with First Citizens, expect poor service, lies, miscommunication, and general incompetence on all levels.

I went through First Citizen Equipment Finance for a truck that I purchased from an auction. I had everything filled out. Paperwork went through just fine but then after five months of phone calls, I still hadn’t received my license plate or registration for the truck which sat in our property and was nothing but a paperweight. It wasn’t until we held the June‘s payment that someone had actually called us back to inquire why we had missed said payment at which time I’ve made them aware that we still didn’t have the paperwork after five months.
I took them over another month to get the paperwork then two months later we ended up paying off the truck completely because we didn’t want to deal with this company any longer. All in all and it’s been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. If you have alternative financing options, I would suggest you use them. Then to make matters worse, they have marked up on my business credit. My listing is as slow repairs due to their incompetence.

Very disappointed with First Citizens Bank on handling my account for a debit card for my wife. Very frustrating and disappointing the way my account has been handled! Thinking about changing banks after 2 years.
