If you are thinking about contracting with Country Financial for your Insurance needs, run, run far away. I was looking for a new insurance company, we were moving and wanted a fresh start for everything. I went online and Country Financial was one of the companies that gave us a quote and the agent called me first. So, we went with them. It was okay for a while. But then we purchased a new van that has a ramp for my wheelchair and other add-ons. It was a month wait to pick up the van, but I sent the paperwork to Country Financial and gave them a heads up. The company I was purchasing from also contacted them. On the day of purchase we were both told I had insurance.
Then a month later we purchased a Pontiac Torrent for my husband and traded in our old van. Again we contacted Country Financial. They did get the Pontiac insured, but they never removed the old van. My agent called a few days after we purchased the Torrent and said he needed an additional payment so I gave him my check card. He made the transaction after I had to give him my other check card because he couldn't figure out how to use that one. So right after Christmas December 2015 I saw a withdrawal from my checking account by Country Financial with my check card that wasn't authorized. We did auto payments, but not with my check card. My agent had taken another payment out with my check card without authorization.
I contacted him and found out I never had insurance on the new van which we paid cash for, $36,000. So if something would have happened to it, we would have been out that money. And he said it was my fault for making so many changes. And he denied making the withdrawal with my check card. And he said we were behind in our payments. So on January 24, 2016 we finally got insurance on our new van that we had purchased on September 30, 2015. I started looking for a new company. I went with American Family on February 7, 2016 for all our insurance needs and saved a lot of money. After Country Financial was notified that we canceled first they sent us a check refunding us about $350. Then they sent us a collection notice trying to collect about $350 including a return item fee because on March 1st they tried to take out a payment for insurance fees.
We had already canceled and they had already sent us a cancellation notice but they wanted to be able to take money from our account for March when we didn't have insurance. I told them I wouldn't' pay it. So, they immediately sent it to a collection agency. I am now disputing this with the Minnesota Attorney General and the Minnesota Department of Commerce and Country Financial. They still owe us money for taking premiums for the old van that we didn't have and they were charging us for. And they wouldn't have done anything for us if I would have gotten in an accident with the new van and they didn't cover the van like they were supposed to.
They also contacted me on my house phone which we did not give them to try to sell us life insurance. When I asked to not be contacted again, to be placed on their do not call list or whatever list I was told because I had insurance with Mr. Joel ** he had a right to call me and I could not ask to be removed. I told them that I have Multiple Sclerosis and CRPS and I am disabled and cannot afford life insurance from Country Financial so calling me was futile. They responded, "Well what about your husband, he can buy life insurance." I told them I have life insurance that I continue to carry that I obtained through my employer and my husband also has it through his employer and we are not going to meet with Mr. Joel ** to discuss life insurance, ever!!! They didn't care, they just continued to call me. Do not ever use them.
Horrible customer service and when asked for a print out of payments made, I was denied. They had threatened me personally, telling me that she will call me with her own cell phone after hours. Now I know there has to be a law against that. That's harassment, right? Been with this so-called company for more than 2 years. Nothing has changed. And from the horror stories I've read, I'm almost scared to find out what happens when I pay this car off.
Must place money on Green Dot Money Pak before I can get a loan. I feel that its a scam but I'm not sure.
Me and my husband paid our car off early so we didn't have to worry anymore about you not reviving our payments. Expecting to receive our pink slip in the mail and calling multiple times to make sure that you have the correct address on file, we never received our pink slip. We called and the girl said they mailed it weeks ago and I made her tell me my address again. She said it's ** Manteca, CA. That's not my address - it's ** Tracy, CA. I said, "Well, I want my pink slip." Then she told me that she would track it down and call me back. She never called me back and I'm not going to pay for another. So what are you going to do?
How they stole money and refuse to give it back: To anyone who has been robbed by this company and who is willing to join me in a class action lawsuit, please feel free to join me. I will be posting a site to get as many people as I can to join in on this class action lawsuit. With this economy the way it is, it is a shame you are getting robbed by the finance companies these days. But I also advise you to notify the BBB. Yes, they are trying to change their name, because of all of the shady dealings this company does. But I will be filing a lawsuit to show them that they stole from the wrong black man. That they took from one of God's children, and he will get my vengeance.
This is the worst company I have ever encountered. They are very unprofessional and very rude. I will spend every breath I have, trying to make sure they don't take advantage of no one else, like they did to me. A real finance company will understand that computers and people make errors. I called them and tried to be very nice and cordial about the matter. But they were so unprofessional and rude and most of all, dishonest and crooked. And they will be punished by filing a lawsuit. Please join me if you have a real claims. I have an attorney who is on stand by and waiting.

I have called County Financial on several occasions asking for the payoff slip for a truck that was financed with this company and paid off. We were never late and paid off the truck on time. They never mailed the pink slip and now they want us to pay $50.00 to get a "lean satisfy" with the DMV. I never received the pink slip and don't see why I have to $50.00 for a service they should provide when the car is paid off. Their customer service is awful and you can't speak with a supervisor. They are refusing to take their name off title.
I signed a contract on March 17th, 2011 to pay two hundred eighty eight dollars and thirty five cents a month for a car. At the time of the signing of the contract, I had liability car insurance and according to the contract, that was all I needed to drive off with the car and I did. All of a sudden after making my second payment, I get a letter in the mail saying something about some law then finally I get my payment slips and they say $349.09 instead of $288.35, I almost lost my mind. I called them instantly and they told me to get my insurance company to send them proof that I had car insurance and they did but they told me that my insurance wasn't good enough.
I lost my job in October and I was trying to keep up with my car payments. I was behind in my November payment. Sent in the Payment on December 17 after talking to a representative from the finance. They had informed me that I could send in my November payment and the following week send in the current payment. I sent in the payment as agreed. When I came home on Sunday night, later on around 10:30 pm I hear a knock on the door.
When I opened the door, it was tow truck drivers flashing lights through my door scaring my kids and asking me for the keys to my car. I went out in the rain removed my belongings. On Monday 12/20/10, I began calling the finance company at 8am. I got no response from them until 11:30 am. When I did get an answer and I spoke to Brenda she was rude and told me that their was nothing she could do about it and I had to wait 2-3 hours for some one to get back to me. I got a ride to work at the armory. I do need a vehicle to do this kind of job since I work with homeless families and I have to come meet them were their at. So I never got a call back from them. My husband called them back all after noon and doesn't get threw to a live representative until around 6pm. This person asked him to fax in new references and new pay stubs for our account and for them to consider returning the vehicle.
I called them again on Tuesday 12/21/10 at 8am to get their fax number and the exact information they needed. At this time I was informed that I will be able to get my vehicle back as long as the fees were paid. The information that was requested from them was faxed in to the finance company after calling them back and getting a working fax number.
By 11am, they had all the information requested. I called them again at 1pm to verify they had received the information. This when I was informed that I will not be getting my vehicle back that it will take any were from to 2-3 hours or even 24hours before I get a call from someone. Every time I try calling this company I'm on hold any were from 7-10 minutes and never get an answer from anyone. It has been pass 3 hours and I haven't got an answer. I tried calling them back and they just tell me they do not have access to that information.
County financial sent me a letter in March of this year stating that I have to pay them an extra 60 dollars because I didn't carry any insurance on my car that I am financing thru them.
I contacted County and told them I do have insurance and the gentleman on the line told me to contact my insurance company and have them fax them telling them I do have insurance. They did and I have not heard anything else until this past Friday.
A woman from County called me at work and said I was delinquent 74 dollars and I asked for what and she told me I didn't carry insurance on my vehicle. I told her I did and my carrier is Infinity insurance and she said they didn't accept Infinity and I asked why and she stated that they have had problems with infinity in the past.
I told her it's not in my contract thru them who I can and can't deal with when it comes to my insurance so she transferred me to another person. He also said they don't deal with Infinity and I had to get another insurance carrier. I said no, and that I put down 400 dollars with Infinity and like my insurance.
I do not have money to put down to go with another insurance! He told me to contact my insurance broker and if I had to put money down forget it but pay the money they were calling me about! My insurance broker said, he had never heard of such a thing and they cannot tell me what Insurance carrier to deal with!
He called County and talked to several people and not one of them could give him an answer! He left a message on the president's message line. County has left messages on my friends and family's phones stating they are trying to get a hold of me! It's embarrassing!
I then called County telling them to stop harassing me and my friends and family! The man on the other end named Leo said they wont stop until my account is current! I said it's being handled with my broker and someone from the company. He was so very rude and said it's not being handled because his computer shows I'm delinquent, 174 dollars!
This was now a new dollar amount from what they told me 4 days ago! They seem to have their own rules and are very rude! I have never been delinquent on my monthly car payment and actually they get my payment before its due date! I have been with County almost a year and am sorry I have to deal with them!
I bought a car, a 2001 Toyota Corolla for $8,200. I gave $1,000 down. First payment of $350 was received on July 29, 2009. I sent it to the address that was directed, as they also gave us stickers that we were supposed to apply on the envelope. The sticker had the name and address. The second payment of $350 was sent exactly the same as the first; however, this payment was "never" received by them. I called the number that is on the back of the money order to cancel the check. However, the check had already been cashed on the 2nd of September. We called County Financial Services to notify them of the financial situation we were in, hoping to come to an agreement. After a week of wait, they called back to tell us that since we couldn't pay for the car, they were going to come pick it up. That same day, I told him that I would send in $300 for that lost payment and before the 3rd payment was due, I would send that month's payment. He agreed.
That same day around 3pm, I deposited $300 into that account. That same day, they called back to ask if we had sent in the money of that lost payment, I said I had. The following morning, they took the car. I was not given any papers to sign. They just told my daughter, "Get all your stuff out the car." We again called to see if they had received the money. The money was received that same day at 10pm according to Western Union. I called County Financial Services to see why they had taken the car. They said that if I wanted the car back, I had to pay $1000 for the towing truck and $40 for storage per day. However, when they took the car, they drove it. According to them, I was unable to pay, therefore they took it. The payment was about 20 days late. It takes 45 days to investigate who cashed the $350 check that was lost. About a week ago, I passed by the dealership I got the car from, and to my surprise, the car was on sale. However, this time it had tinted windows.
