I would highly suggest looking into other programs, and read their terms completely. I jumped into the program during a more stressful part of my life. The classroom teachers were mostly great. With the exception of a teacher who couldn't keep on subject thus lowered my grade. There was an episode of drama with a student who threatened harm on other students. Myself, and another student reported it to the DON. She actually told the student who reported him. He was never punished, and started trying to threaten us. Thankfully he quit on his own. Why didn't I leave? I was thousands of dollars invested.

The clinical teachers with the exception of two were lackluster. A minimal amount of the class got great hands on experience. I seemed to be continuously placed in ones that lacked it. Upon graduating I learned almost all my best teachers had left. I wasn't able to get letters of recommendations from anyone. Oh yeah hospitals DON'T consider clinical job experience.

Their job assistance is a JOKE. At first I got monthly lists for CNA positions or positions of wanting multiple years of experience. A CNA position was significantly less income to what I made at the time, and I paid thousands for an LVN job they promised they would help me qualify for. The job openings stopped coming even though I never asked them to stop. A few years later I was hounded by a woman wanting an update. I told her I had not found a job as an LVN, still at same job as before, and I was pregnant. She demanded proof of my pregnancy so she could put my account on "hold." Totally confusing as they hadn't reached out in years, and I now needed to bend over backward to prove my pregnancy. Uh No. The only people who actually passed the program that had success were people already working in the field or had families who owned home healthcare companies.

Proceed with caution. I wasn't told that in California most hospitals were getting rid of LNVs. I wasn't told hospitals don't see clinical experience as experience. I was told the opposite. Their job assistance program is weak. I found the same jobs on my own time. They have staff turnover issues making post graduation communication hard or impossible. I have been stuck with student loans to pay off almost $40,000 for the past few years for a vocational license I haven't been able to use. Why make almost $10 less hourly to do a job (CNA) you didn't bust your ** getting a license for? I wouldn't recommend this program unless you have connections in the medical field. Otherwise you will have to start from the ground up. For most adults with a life (kids, mortgage) that is not realistic. This will just add to your debt.

I ended up going into Concorde to be counseled because I didn’t know what I was gonna do with school at that time. I was working and initially, I was gonna wanna do my RN with them but the counselor didn't recommend it to me because I was not gonna be able to work and do that program. Then I asked about the LPN program and they did have a part-time program but I didn't know that until afterwards. When I was getting counseled, he said that they didn't offer a part-time program so that wasn’t beneficial to me either. He also said that LPNs weren't in high demand. That was when he really pushed the MA program. He told me to do it then see if I still want to be in the medical field afterwards. He told me that I could come back and get a discount if I want to do my LPN and my RN. It sounded great but later on, I felt like it was a sales pitch so I would do that then come back and pay them more money for another certificate.

My MA program was also the worst experience ever. I worked in the morning and I went to school from 5 to 10. But through those eight months, they went through six teachers because everyone was having issues. People weren't liking the teachers and people were getting fired. It was weird. On top of that, the people that I was in school with at the time were really mean towards each other. There was a lot of animosity and there were a few times that a few other students and I were threatened but the principal wasn't really doing anything about it. It was a mess.

Concorde's was the only scrub tech program in my area which offered evening classes. Though I enjoyed completing it, I felt like the leadership was pretty unorganized and so the students just kinda followed what the leadership offered. The program was costly as well. I ended up doing an internship and it was a good experience. I enjoyed the people whom I worked with and the physicians I learned from. However, since they have taken away the evening program, I probably wouldn’t recommend people that I know to go there because it was so disorganized while I was there.

The accelerated program of Concorde Career College made me go with them over the others and I was in their Dental Hygiene program. Concorde's staff was there every step of the way and I've had a particularly good experience with Lisa and Andrea. They really knew their student very well. They were helpful and they made sure everybody understood. Concorde is also very into community service and into giving back to the community. They also set up things that we would do together as community service.

Being active in the classroom and the clinic were the keys to become successful at Concorde, and I took with me all the skills necessary for my job. But there are still some things that needed to be worked out. Things don’t always run perfectly and smoothly in the clinic and it was very hard to get my competencies done because I did it by myself and we didn't always have the means to do it so it got very stressful not only for the students but the teachers as well. But overall, it was a good experience and I just did everything I needed before I graduated.

I read about Concorde Career College online when I was doing some research for the particular career that I wanna go into. I like that the Neurodiagnostic Technology program was accelerated so I was able to accomplish my goal in a short amount of time because it’s a double-edged sword packing so much material into a short length of time. I received a lot of guidance from Concorde. They were prepared to educate me about what they had to offer in relation to the field.

There were multiple people that really helped me a lot. Robert was the first person that I came in contact with when I reached out to Concorde. He was great as far as following up with me on a daily basis up until when I met him in person and visited the school. I came from up north to kind of make a long distance trip to check out the school. There are only two schools in California where there’s accredited program. The other one being Orange Coast College which I had intended to get into back in 2014 and I actually got on the waitlist for that school until I got declined.

So then when I had found out that Concorde had offered the same program that was accredited, I was excited to see what my other options were when I couldn’t get into OCC. That’s when I reached out to Concorde and Robert was great in following up. He knew when we met that I had done my research. I was pretty serious at the time and yet, he was still willing to provide all the services and give me a tour. Also, what I was impressed about Concorde was that they were able to get you in right away. I didn’t have to fool with the waitlist.

However, the downside is the tuition is a lot more expensive than a community college like Orange Coast College. But the benefit outweighs the cost in that sense, rather than having to wait two more years to see if I get into the other school. And then the cost of living, I had to put that into account because it would be cheaper to live near San Bernardino than in Costa Mesa.

Throughout my program at Concorde, I have to give a big shout-out to the main NDT instructor there, Jay. He’s really great with teaching the course. He’s one of the smartest instructors that I met at Concorde. He really knows his stuff and he works in the field as well so he knows what he was talking about. You can also ask him questions and being that he’s in the field, you can be confident that he’s gonna have the answer to it. He’s straight up with you about anything you want to talk about.

The other big kudos would be to Ann. She was the new program director who took over our program when the other program director left. It was like a difference of night-and-day as far as her dedication and enthusiasm. You could tell that she’s really passionate about getting this program on track and on course to succeed. She also cared about her students and prepared us for success after we're done studying at Concorde. She prepared us for the board exam that I would be taking at the end of this month and also trying to help prepare us during our clinical rotation so that we get that experience and can get a job right out of graduation.

Also, our neuroanatomy teacher has a special and goofy way of teaching. He’s very polarizing. Our neuroscience teacher also teaches general health there and he comes from a biology science background but he really knows his stuff. I remember him saying we really need to know those neurological disorders for the board exam. At the time, you don’t really know how accurate those statements are until you’re actually right before the board exam and getting prepared.

And so I get my hat off to the whole program. It worked out as ideal as it could have. I consider myself blessed that I was able to follow through on my plan. Just to put things into perspective, as I was approaching graduation for this program, I got an email earlier this year from Orange Coast College, saying that they had accepted me and to notify them so that they could enroll me in their program for August of this year. And so if I had waited another two years and not done Concorde due to whatever reason, then I wouldn’t have started my program until September of this year, and wouldn’t have gone out until another two years, in 2020. I have a job in the field and approaching to be board registered, certified, and I’d be working two years into my career before having even graduated at the other school.

The culture at Concorde was fine as well. They had lots of engagement activities or days where they would decorate the building whether it would be for the holiday or maybe student appreciation day or for Veteran’s Day. And then sometimes, they had some engagement activities where they had games set up that they had the different programs participate in and the teachers got involved as well.

I’m really thankful that Concorde offers this accredited program because there’s no other school in California besides those two. I really think that Concorde’s benefiting a lot from this program and I would encourage other students if they’re not sure what school they wanna go into, to at least look up and see if this field might be something that interests them because it’s something that I’m very passionate about. Concorde did a great job. Nothing can be perfect but for what they offer, it really helped my dreams. If you are a trying student and you’re willing to learn, then you’re gonna succeed because they set you up to succeed.

I took up dental assisting at Concorde Career College. I enrolled because of the shorter program they have and I had fun with it. My teacher was great but all the other staff wasn’t very organized. Once they told us that there was a mandatory meeting but then they just made us do a five-minute survey, which we could have done online. Then, I did an externship and it was good. I picked my own discussions and hands-on stuff with the dentist. All the other assistants also assisted for a while. When I went in for dental assisting, Concorde was very easy going and helpful. However, now that I'm trying to get into dental hygiene, they’re not being full. They need to help us more with the dental hygiene process.

My ex-girlfriend went to Concorde Career College and she went there for Surgical Tech. My mom is a DPT and she holds her own practice, so I was gonna try and go into Concorde Career College and do that. However, when I tried to do that the first time around, they said that they didn’t have a set date yet, so I took Surgical Technology thinking that it was gonna be better than what it actually was. I was a little disappointed in the way they made Surgical Technology seem like we were gonna be really in part of the surgery like what the first assist would do. But when we got in there, it was not like that at all. I loved the experience I took and I learned a lot but I’d rather that they tell people right away that it was not the first assist. We're gonna be standing there handing instruments all day long.

I loved the guidance from the staff and everybody was really cool. Our instructor was very helpful. We had another adjunct teacher come in and her name is Carolyn. She was fantastic. If it wasn't her, all the students in our class wouldn’t have made it. We also had an instructor who knew what he was talking about. He was very hands-on. Whenever he had gotten the lab portion of things, he knew what he was doing. It was great with our staff for the Surgical Technology program. However, whenever I tried to do PTA, I didn’t have that much printout. It’s probably just because they have a lot going on the side they’re in.

I got a lot of buddies and their staff interacted with the students, and the way the students interacted with themselves was really professional. But there were some students who didn’t really take it as college and just the stepping stone for their career. I did an externship at the university hospital, but my externship was done at one facility and that set me back versus some of the other students that got to different practices and different hospitals. They got to see how other places run. At the time halfway through I fractured several vertebrae in my spines and I didn’t have a traumatic injury but still I feel I drew the short end on that.

I’ve been around healthcare my whole life and I need to be self-driven because, in this field, I need to have my own passion and compassion for what I'm doing because no one is there and tell me that I do something. I need to be able to drive and motivate myself because it feels like no one makes you go there. No one tells you what to do what you really need to do. It’s all on you. And with doing healthcare, you need to know what you should and shouldn’t be doing and have that integrity and character to speak to yourself. For me, my success was being self-motivated. It doesn’t work for all people. Some people pick to have the outside health which I like to study and not do it on my own but take the responsibility and make sure that I get things done myself.

If you know what you wanna go for and it is what you wanna do, then go for it. But search the program you’re getting into before you go. And if you have any questions, make sure you ask because once you’re in there, those programs aren’t cheap. You have to make sure that it is what you wanna do before you put your money towards it. Concorde was a great school and I loved it. I still talk with some of my instructors and classmates. If you wanna go in the medical field and get started quickly, Concorde would be a good place to start.

I was looking up schools for Dental Assisting online and Concorde Career College was one of the first ones that came up. Their program was short as instead of taking two years, it was only eight months. It was a little bit quicker and I could get a certificate faster. I didn’t receive any guidance from the staff since we had a lot of issues with me and I had four different teachers at one point because they kept leaving. However, Ocia went out of her way to teach and help me. I feel like I learned more from her than anybody else there and she wasn’t one of my teachers.

The student culture there was so diverse. They do a lot of commercials that they ask you to be in. And sometimes they have little barbecues outside where they tell you to come and get a burger or a hotdog for a dollar. They also have a high school. I enjoyed the externship part where there is hands-on stuff with patients rather than being in the classroom with just books. For the end of the month, we were free for our course within the class and we got to go to an actual office and had to complete a certain amount of hours before we could graduate. The key to success was just paying attention.

If it wasn’t for Concorde I wouldn’t have done my internship. I didn’t get the job I wanted but at least I was able to work at a dental office. I wanted to withdraw the chance because I wanted something different. If friends wanna go there then I'd recommend going ahead, but some of my friends were there too and they left. I like Dental Assisting but I would not take a shortcut next time and I'd just do the two years. I did not like Concorde very much. They mean well but I would not learn anything from the four to five books that they provided.

My aunt went to Concorde before me and she told me about it. Enrolling there was just the next step for me. I took the dental hygiene program and I enjoyed the clinical experience the most. Every single instructor that I had was great too, and I would speak highly of all of them. The staff was very helpful and they would be really great if you take advantage of them and ask them questions. I had a positive experience overall and the students also warmed up to each other at the end. It’s really up to you to put in the work so I would advise others to take advantage of the resources. There were a lot of volunteer opportunities and a lot of what I took away from my Concorde experience was my community service in public health.

And, the student culture was good. Everybody mind their business and do whatever they have to do. I did an externship and the experience was amazing. I had to keep calling back to ask the staff and I was told that I would be getting calls but I never did. Their process was way unorganized. I did an internship but only for the assisting program. My wife had attended Concorde College and she recommended it to me. I enjoyed the labs the most -- just having hands on experience, getting to do things physically and not just reading about the techniques in the book. I pursued the medical assistance program and their staff were more than helpful. I led a tutorial group for students that were having a hard time and they really helped encourage that. They made it easier for students who were grasping the information to help teach each other when the teacher didn’t have enough time. It’s a very rapid, accelerated learning course and they were very accommodating to different measures on how students could learn and get the knowledge and practice that they needed.

Ms. Michelle was also a really outstanding teacher. They had a lot of knowledge that they were able to share and they kinda keep half the class focused on their education, not only gossip and stuff like that. And during externship the process was rather smooth. They have good communication with the school as far as hours done. The outward portion gave me a lot of hands on experience with some of the legwork that is involved to do the malpractice and insurance policies for the doctor herself. But it was really good to be in a fast-paced, almost kinda frenetic environment to get that experience before I’m fully committed.

The way that it’s done most commonly in major institutions is kind of a broken system. And those kinds of big money trade schools don’t actually get a lot more credit because they don’t really prepare you for the reality of the job. They just give you the guideline that, “Oh, you’re gonna do this and this and this.” And you have no basis of which to actually perform that duty. I went to Concorde to learn and in the end that’s what I got out of it. I’m sure some people go there rather young with improper mindset but anybody who went there to get that kind of job in that field would be happy.

The student culture was a good one and there was a huge mix of everyone and everything. They have a land slider program which is basically a leadership program and I was involved in that. They did a lot of things. And while my last program was easy, one has to want the program itself to become a successful student. If you didn't really care too much then maybe it would’ve been hard. Yet at least on my last program, the guidance from the staff was good and all the staff was amazing. My main instructor was awesome and I couldn’t have had a better experience with her. I was pursuing Dental Assisting at Concorde and I enjoyed my program and the instructors that I had. My program director was really good. She really cared about her students and made sure that we had the best that we could possibly have. My instructor, Kara, had come out of the field and she was very helpful for not only myself, but her students as well and she made sure that we understood the information that was being taught. She was very encouraging to not settle for less. If you don't get it right the first time, don't worry about it. Keep trying because that type of field is more so of repetition and learning the skill, rather than knowing it the first time around. And no one's gonna be perfect.

The student culture at Concorde was very quirky when I went. I had a situation with the students. It was kinda like high school, but I had my own little group of people that I sat and I studied with. So, it wasn't so bad. Also, there were people who had already been in class together for a couple of months or even a month. And then, the following month, a new group of people came into class. I joined TeamSmile, too. It's an outreach for low-income children who can't afford to receive dental care.

Being persistent and being confident will help a student to be successful at Concorde.Overall, I liked my experience. I just feel like the office was too busy, so I feel like I didn't get the one-on-one as much as I should have. But it was a good experience. And if someone asks, I would tell them to take their time and make sure that the program they're getting is something that they want to do and not to feel pressured by the admissions representative. If there's a certain program that they're interested in and it's not offered at that time, they shouldn't settle for another program.

I was already working at a dental office as a rover and I wanted to pursue more of a career path for myself. So, I decided I wanted to do dental assisting. I researched and got into Concorde for that. The teachers were amazing and they wanted us to succeed. They actually helped us even after hours and after class if we needed to. Also, on our breaks, they were willing to help us and they made learning in the course fun overall. It wasn't too forceful and they wanted us to have enjoyment of the whole course. Concorde made learning better than some colleges. Miss Mary from the dental assisting department really stuck out to me but everyone was very welcoming. My fellow students all got along really well in the classes and made sure everyone worked together.

Also, I did an externship at Long Beach and that was really good. Though I've already worked and done an externship at my office, I haven't really done an externship at a different place. Still, I did find a new job right after my externship and got used to a new office. Concorde helped my overall confidence in the work I'm doing. Their rep, Caitlin was really helpful in carrying everything up for us, making us comfortable with getting a job and helping us with resumes when needed. I have been a CNA, so I was searching for schools that could work with my schedule and work. Concorde came in because they have the evening and the morning shifts. Concorde works with your schedule. If you work at night, then you can go there at day. If you work at day, you can go at night. That is the best thing because a lot of colleges do not offer that. It is very convenient. The director of the MA program was my motivator. I wanted to quit. And when I would go to her office, and I had been through a lot going there, she was there to push me. “No. You’re not gonna stop. No. You’re gonna continue. No. Uh-uh. I ain’t hearing that.” At graduation, a couple Fridays ago, we were all talking about her. She is the best. My husband is in the military and I had started my prerequisites while we were stationed in New Orleans. When he was transferred, I was interested in the speed of Concorde's program, we’ve done it before and we wanted to try it again. I knew what I needed to study and with my transferred credits, I didn’t start until the second term. Our instructors were very hands-on and personable. But since it was such an expedited program, we were responsible for our own learning. It wasn't that we weren’t taught, it was just that we were given so much information at once that if we just depended on going to class, then we'd have been doomed to fail.

We had gotten a new President while I was a student there and he made a lot of improvements for the school. The old President wasn’t following the protocol exactly. and the new President had gotten everything back on track as it should have been. Even though there were issues, they were handled well. Our Program Director quit in the middle of the term but the transition to everything was handled well and smoothly. We were kept informed and they came and asked us what we thought was the best way to handle it. I had a friend who wanted to become a surgical technologist. I referred her to Concorde and she has gotten her certificate through them.

Hi Michelle,

First of all, thank you for your family's service! It's our honor to train veteran, military member and military spouses for rewarding careers.

You make an excellent point about the pace of the program and dedication it takes to be successful! While it's intense at times, we never want our students to feel as though they are doing it on their own. It's one of the reasons we offer study groups, mentors, and tutoring.

We're pleased that you felt like the change in leadership was beneficial at Concorde-Memphis. We certainly do our best to ensure that from the leadership to the students, we have the right people on the team to move the organization forward!

I enjoyed my experience with Concorde Career College, having now finished it and being in the work field. I really enjoyed all of my teachers. However, the fact that it’s an accelerated program is a disservice to students rather than a service. For instance, we only get a month practicing phlebotomy on each other. Also, everything was backwards. We did blood pressure the first day and the entire six months, which was easier than venipuncture, which we only did for 16 days. Also, I constantly crammed for exams since the program was so short. I got 100% on my exams but I wasn't retaining any of the information. It's frustrating me how much I didn’t learn now that I'm trying to get my certification.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your feedback. We always value the insight of our students and alumni. We'll certainly pass it along. Have you considered being on our program advisory committee? It's a group of field professionals, alumni and industry experts that meet to help improve and guide curriculum and other updates.

We also offer tutoring and extended skills assistance when our students feel as though they could use a little extra practice, as well as study groups in our learning resource center. We know it's accelerated, but we never want our students to feel alone!

When I went to view Concorde Career College campus, their reps were very warm and they just accepted me with no problems, no harshness. They wanted the best for me as well as I want it for myself. I wanted to do the nursing program to be a registered nurse. At first, they said it will be a hard program to get in, but it was doable. So, I went for Medical Assistance instead and said I'd go back as soon I'm ready to do the RN program.

One of the instructors was very helpful and even if a problem occurs, she was never willing to give up. She was always there to push me through. It's very comforting to see that there's someone else who's willing to help me and be there for me. Even with my career path, they wanted to see me succeed. She helped me throughout my journey and with seeking employment.

Overall, Concorde is a great college and everybody there is amazing. They welcome you with love, support, and success. I would tell a friend that Concorde is very open, very loving, supportive, and they will continue to push you through till you finish your program because they want you to see also that it's real if you want to succeed. They want you to be successful in whatever career path that you choose. I love the experience I had with them. In fact, even though I have graduated, they still help me.

Signing up with Concorde Career College was a lot easier than with a regular college. I did a technical course and it was fine. One of the teachers was very nice and helpful. Along with teachers' support, students got to study and know what they’re doing in order to be successful. Concorde is a good school. I learned what I was supposed to and they helped me out.

Concorde is great and they have excellent teachers. You could get the one-on-one if you needed it. They have tutoring as well. I’ve looked into other schools but they didn’t seem interesting and the people weren't friendly. They also didn’t seem passionate enough to help get someone educated. It's hard to get to Concorde because there is a lot of studying. It's also fast-paced. So the key to be successful is to not give up and make sure you're determined.
