I've gotten a loan with them for the past 3 years but this year has been the worse experience with them. First I applied on the 26th for the loan and usually getting the loan is really quick and easy. However this time they took forever. And I've never been late. But this time it took a week. So now instead of them putting the date I applied they put the date I was approved which makes my pmts late every month. I've begged them to please change the date so my pmts won't be late but they refuse. Then the most resent issue is I made my monthly pmt and because I get off so late I have to use their drop box which I've used the past 3 years with no problem cash in an envelope sealed.

I get a call the guy says "you need to make your pmt." He says "all we got was an envelope cause your pmt was stuck in the door." **. I always make sure my pmt hits the floor. So he puts me on the phone with the manager. Manager says I need to make my pmt. I said I did. He said "all we got was an envelope." "No I made my pmt and it hit the floor. Now someone in your building has stolen my money." He tried to blame me for using cash but I've been paying cash for 3 years. I said "I'm not rich. I'm not making another pmt this month but y'all will see my pmt next month and y'all can add that pmt to the end." He says "well we're gonna have to report you to the credit bureau if we do that." I told him I didn't understand how this is my fault when someone in their office stole my money and no one is getting fired. He just kept saying that's why I shouldn't of paid cash and this could of been prevented.

On July 10, 2015 I received a letter from World Finance in Mansfield, LA that I used to have a loan with but had paid off a couple of months ago. Well since I just moved into a new home on June 1st, I can always use extra money to assist me with repairs or purchases so I called Wendy ** yesterday to ask about her offer. She asked me how much would I like and I said the $2,100 sounded great. She stated that she may be able to get me $1,500 to $1,700 and that she would get the paperwork together and call me back. After lunch I still hadn't heard from her so I called and she told me that she had questions about my income, address, dependents, and current bills. She stated that she would run a credit report and get back with me. So far, I still haven't heard anything so I'm wondering why she contacted me in the first place if this wasn't a valid offer.

I guess I'm not the great customer and friend that the letter states that I am. It feels like one of those bait and switch games where you are offered something to peak your interest and then given something else. I've been a World Finance customer for many years and have always HAD great things to say about them but I doubt if I will be able to say anything positive about them again.

I was robbed 4 times in a three week period. They would not even look at the police reports nor would they adjust my loan, even though all the collateral was stolen along with a lot of other things. They were very rude, disrespectful, and just plain belligerent with me about it. Told me that I just did not want to pay my account and that I faked the robbery story and the reports. I could not believe they said that. I was extremely upset and I left and I still refuse to pay them on the grounds that I know they are going to file the insurance then make me pay them and they have hired a collection agency to bill me too. I told them there was no way they were getting paid three times. They should not be able to do business that way.

Who better to review a company than a former employee? I worked at the World Finance in Moultrie, GA for 2 1/2 years and in that time I saw and was asked to do things I didn't agree with. I was an Assistant Manager so my field of work was collections. Now I understand collections are important but I'll be honest World Finance needs to review their collection policy. I had to visit customers' houses who were only past due 1 payment which didn't make sense to me. If I talked to you (customer) at the house I would be asked by the manager to ask for the payment, ask the customer to call someone to borrow the payment, or just simply to tell them they had to surrender the collateral because the payment should have been taken care of last month. That just isn't right in my book. I mean 1 payment really? But I had no say it was my job.

The manager would even downright refuse a payment if the customer was two payments due. How is that helping the situation? Oh and the refinance to get the account current is the biggest issue... I mean if a customer can't afford the payments now, why talk them into refinancing? All that does is increase the balance to the original amount and the payments stay the same. I had to leave because I couldn't do it anymore. You can't treat people one way then treat another way when they are struggling with their finances. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me. Thank you...

My daughter-in-law has had a major stroke. She has had part of her skull removed and will be returning in two weeks to be under the knife again. They will not void her loan. She has two small girls that may or may not have their mommy. That 600 could be used for the girls' needs. It breaks my heart to see a Company so uncaring! She took the loan out in Huntington TN. The manager was rude and only wanted the money. Please beware of who you deal with!

4-5 years ago I took out a loan with crazy percentage rates because I have terrible credit. Fast forward to April of 2015. World Finance garnished my paycheck based on old employment information and without any papers or notices being served to me. This sounds illegal to me. Any lawyers out there who are willing to take a case, please contact me: **. Serious inquiries only.

I am a client in good standing that's never been late or missed a payment and feel I was tricked into refinancing a loan for a higher interest rate, with 2 extra months to boot. Talk about bad business!!!!! I am the first to admit I screwed up too!!!!!! Never again!!!!!!

World Finance, Watkinsville, Georgia gave my mentally handicapped sister (IQ=71) a predatory loan (high interest, packing of loan, refinancing existing loan into larger one over 40 times, and "suggested" items for her to list as collateral {that she didn't own}). My sister has limitations in communication, social skills, and functional academics. She cannot tell you what 25% of a 100 is and reads on a 3rd grade level. She receives social security disability payments in which I am the representative payee. World Finance is harassing her with phone calls, threats of coming to her "stuff" and letters of legal actions, because she can no longer pay this loan. What are the ramifications of this situation?

I applied for a loan. I have a large loan that a large bank institute had no problem giving me and have 2 other loan companies I have loans at, never missed or had any late payments. World finance seems to think they are above and better than the bank that just recently gave me the loan and refused to loan me money because of 2 small things on my credit in which the bank had no problem with. I even explained the issues on my credit but didn't matter to them. Oh well, I guess they have enough money that they don't want my business. Will not ever recommend them to anyone.

My sister took a $600 loan out from Cookeville, TN WORLD FINANCE CO on Spring Street. Her 1st payment due Feb 1st (today is the 3rd of Feb 2015).

My sister (and our family) suffered a loss of a niece Christmas Eve Morning Dec. 24th, 2014, Niece's husband had no Life Insurance (Funeral Home holding her body over for payment first). So my sister, Jay, made a down payment along with money she raised to go towards the funeral. Jay promised and signed agreement to make big payments for a few more months to get remainder balance paid off. Jay spoke to employee at World Finance in Cookeville TN to let them know ahead of time she was going to be late.

Then our elderly Father was hospitalized at same time of Niece's death, his heart slowed, practically stopping - Dr's found Cancer in his vital organs and only gave him hours to live. Been over 42 days and Dad still hanging on. Meanwhile, Jay vigilantly at Dad's side (not sleeping or eating well) loses 30 pounds and has severe pain in her stomach. WORLD FINANCE of COOKEVILLE, TN keeps calling during this time and Jay calls them 2 - 3 times a week, keeping them informed. Jay offers to make 1st payment with Credit/Debit card but they can't take it over the phone. THEN my Sister Jay was hospitalized at the same hospital Dad's in because of throwing up blood. Had exploratory surgery and she isn't fully awake when WORLD FINANCE of COOKEVILLE TN calls her, tells her "SHE HAS TO CALL THEM BACK BY 4:00 PM".

Jay had me promise to wake her so she could make this call (Jay refused to allow me to call these people), so I woke her at 3:55 pm and she was not allowed to speak to the Manager 'Ashley'. An employee 'WHITNEY **' yelled at my sister Jay, threatening, accusing her of not being truthful. Jay could not finish what she was saying, I was getting very angry wanting the phone - the Nurse (name withheld), our Aunt, a Niece and myself heard every word because Jay had it on speaker phone because she was not able to hold it to her ear (good thing I had the recording on - thinking Jay would want to be able to remember the call after her being sedated from the operation and pain).

Whitney ** from WORLD FINANCE CO of COOKEVILLE TN told Jay she did not care about the crisis Jaye had been or going through, she (WHITNEY **) wanted her loan money paid back!! Jay, in tears, reminded WHITNEY ** it was not her money. Jay told her she intended to make her payment and pay the company back soon as she got back to COOKEVILLE TN by Friday the 6TH of Feb. This Rude, Load, Outrageous, Obnoxious WHITNEY ** continued to DISRESPECT MY SISTER, YELLING AT HER AND I GRABBED THE PHONE TO TALK AND WE GOT DISCONNECTED, MAYBE HUNG UP ON! How, I REPEAT, "HOW CAN A COMPANY STAY IN BUSINESS WHEN THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTS THIS WAY"???? No Compassion for my Sister's health & well-being. I told my sister to file bankruptcy, and so did her attorney when we just called him.

Guess this is what World Finance companies are about 'disrespect' and 'professionalism'! THE C.O.'s of WORLD FINANCE CO. NEED TO EDUCATE AND/OR HIRE COLLEGE GRADS TO RUN THEIR OFFICES. No one has to tolerate this behavior and disrespect from these people/companies! They've disrespected the wrong sister this time!!! CLIENTS, stand up for yourself - keep your recorders on (voice & cameras) - JUDGES DO NOT TOLERATE THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT/DISRESPECT FROM COMPANY'S OR THEIR EMPLOYEES!

I have a loan out at a local company. I am behind by one month. Do I have to listen to him say "He hates liars”? That "It's people like me that tell him they will be there and then don't that makes him hate his job..." "Gotta have it by 5:00 today..." "Just get somebody to write a post dated check and we will hold it until a certain day..." I told them I would make a payment on the 31st but they wanted me to get somebody to write a check for them to hold until the 31st. Now tell me what the difference is? What are my rights and why do they get away with talking to me that way, calling everyday and showing up at my house? Honestly my rent, light bill and water comes first then I pay them when I can. If they do a re-finance to supposedly help me out, the payment stays the same amount. So how is that helping? They know I am unemployed and I am the only person on this loan. They still harass me by phone and make threats. They show up in my yard and think I can't talk back to them the way they talk to me. I am tired of being bullied and treated like this.

This so started after I got the loan, they would call before it was even time and I paid on time every month then I was in the hospital and then home on bed rest. They called my work and kept calling. I always talk to them. My fiance answered the phone and the gm at Kingsport TN location named Tony called my fiance a piece of ** and "worthless people don't pay bills." Now mind you, everyone of my bills is paid but this one because I haven't had the extra money I ask them to refinance loan and that I didn't want any money just to get them off my back so I could pay. They call 20 times a day and they call my job and family. Now as my kid walks up from bus stop the people show up. What kind of company comes to somebody's house and I said, "How many times am I going to tell you I'm sick and have no money." It's against the law what they do.

My husband (who is on record as being bipolar) took out 3 payday loans with 3 different payday loan offices in Lubbock, TX. He did not keep the payments up. Enter World Finance. The lady there assured him that they would take on all 3 loans & give him an "easy" payoff plan. Now, nearly a year later, this company has gone so far as to contact his aging mother AND his brother after they found out they would get nowhere with me. The ONLY thing World Finance checked out on him was his job & income. They did NOT check his other financial obligations, (child support, housing, utilities, car insurance, car payment, etc), nor did they check any history on him whatsoever. If they had, and they were not taking advantage of the fact, they would have likely refused him being that he has a several year history of bipolarism, manic-depression, self harm & more. I want this company to cease all calls to his family members immediately. They had nothing to do with his actions, nor are they responsible for his debts. I have researched this & I know for a fact we can sue for several different offenses regarding this. Stop it NOW!

I was on the way to Dairy Queen with my family when I received a phone call from World Finance from an employee name Aston. She started off telling me that I have a payment on the 18th. I was really lost because today's date is the 7th of May. I was asking myself, why I am receiving a call if I already made my payment last month with a check. Then she went on telling me that the check that I paid them with bounced. I went on telling her that I didn't understand because I just gotten a deposit from my job, and I had the money in my account to pay you and she started laughing as I was talking to her. I ask her what was so funny. She ignored me as I was asking her what was funny. I told her that I will call my bank to see exactly what is going on and she said very rudely, "Tell me what is going on!!!!?"

I went on telling her that I don't know what's going on, I am going to call my bank. She continue to laugh and saying "You tell me what's going on, I don't know why your check bounced. You tell me." I look down at my phone to make sure no one was playing on my phone because this person is taking this as a joke. I went on to tell her that "I will call my bank and I will call back and I do not want to talk to you," that I would like to talk to Mrs. **. She told me, "No problem, that's fine." The Dairy Queen was right by the World Finance. I stopped by to speak to the young lady that was really rude to me over the phone. I asked for her outside the door because she said that they were closed and the close time outside the door was 8 pm and the time was 7:45 pm. She told me who she was and I ask her if I can speak to her because I didn't understand why she was so rude to me in front of one of her co-workers and she said rudely, "I said what I said." I told her, "Please don't call my phone anymore because you were very unprofessional." I told her that I will be back the next day so that I can take care of the payment, and to also make sure that she doesn't call me anymore.

First, I had to go to these people because of my low credit score so I knew the interest rate would be higher than a loan if I had good credit. Secondly, I knew if I did not have the payment on time they would be calling. Last time I checked, companies don't care who died or if you lost your job. They want their money. I changed jobs and could not make a payment and guess what. They called and I knew they would. I did not get mad. I understood it was their job. I mean give me a break. I struggle like anyone but I know and expect to get calls when I can't pay a bill. I simply told them I would pay 150 for two months until I could pay it.

Hey, I understand how a struggle can be. I told myself I would never do this again because I know how rough these types of loan people can be. The best thing to do is just go without or just talk to the people you already owe and work things out with them. Lucky for me I am a hustler. I worked odd jobs until I found the job I wanted and kept giving payments to them no matter how much it was and now I only owe 200.00. My advice is don't go to loan people like these if you don't want to pay high interest or be bothered every day.

Many, many phone calls to my cell, home, friends and family. Knocking on my door leaving rude messages. I was behind on my payment due to a car accident I was in and couldn't get in there. Tried many times to communicate with them, they say I haven't. Then I get a letter in the mail from a credit report that they ran my credit history for EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES! I talked to the manager about this and she is denying this when I have the letter in my hands!

Beside the fact that if I'm 1 (ONE) day behind, they start calling & texting & calling my cell phone. Once in the morning and again in the evening. The office is 25 miles away from my house, so sometimes I can't make it there on the payment date. I've asked countless times to lower my payment from $79 to $60 or lower. I was told it can't be done till I renew. When I went in to renew just as I was signing my name, she told me my payment would be $79. I just looked at her like she was nuts. I paid one month with a personal check, the check didn't clear the first time but it did the second and it appeared on my bank statement. They still claimed it bounced. She said she had the name and number of the check clearing house but couldn't find it. She gave me the name to the best of her memory so I could contact them on the internet. My original loan was for $350.00 and when I renewed, they raised it to almost $1000. How can they do that??? It angers me just to go in that office. I go in, pay and leave and try not to talk to anyone.

Today I went to World Finance to make a $67 payment after they came to my home, called my job, called my family, called my cell phone about 1000 times. I owed a payment for October and November. I went in to make October's payment. I was immediately seated in front of a representative. She asked me when I would make November payment and I told her that I didn't know yet. So, she called the manager over to her desk. The manager asked the rep what was the problem. Then, the manager asked me how was my day. I didn't respond to her.

So she loudly yelled at me and said, "You don't have to come in here with an attitude." So I said, "I'm only here to make a payment not to make friends." So she asked me, "When will you make your November payment," and I told her that I didn't know yet. So she said, "That's it!!!" She threw my money back at me and said, "Ms. **, I will see you in court." So I called back and got their corporate office number. I spoke to a man in corporate that took sides with World Finance. He said that the manager had already called him and said that I cussed her out, the other employees out, and they had a lot of customers in the office.

Mind you but there was no customer in the office, I was the only one there at that time. I was only at one desk with the manager and a rep. I didn't cuss at anyone. So the corporate office said that I was no longer allowed at that office anymore and that I would have to mail my payments. He also said that If I didn't mail in October and November payments, then they will garnish my wages... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! I feel as though my freedom of speech and human rights have been violated. THIS IS SO UNFAIR. The manager and her little flunky employees all lied on me and said I cussed them out and threatened them...

Visits to my home, calls nonstop to my cell phone, neighbor's phones, family members' phone numbers, calls to my place of employment. Not willing to work with me on partial payments, refusal and intolerance of payments made in full because they are not the payment plus past due amount. When I try to make payments, they are not enough even though I have explained to them it is more than I can pay without sacrificing necessities for living. Threats of court and suing, threats of garnishment and seizures of personal "assets".

On 5/14/2013, I took out a loan for 420.00 to pay some small repairs off done to my car. My payments were $60.00 a month. In July, I missed a payment due to my car problems re-occuring and in August, I paid a payment for August and was behind a payment. Phone calls to my home and job followed soon afterwards and I had no problem with these calls except for the fact that I had received a phone call from a manager who had flat out been rude to me asking me what my problem is and why I had not paid my payment and that I should have been responsible enough to call, and what is going on in my life and was I thinking in not calling them. Again more calls to my job and visits to my home.

On September 9, 2013 as I was working, I noticed a male in my job standing off to the side allowing customers to pass him by as he waited for me to help him. Once all my customers left the store except one, I then turned my attention to him and asked him how I could help him. He then told me he was from World Finance and began asking me for a payment for September and one for the payment I had missed. I, at that time, told him I mailed off a payment yesterday and he began asking me what form of payment did I use and I told him a money order. He began to ask for proof of the money order and saying I'm late in payments, when can he have the payments and how much the payments are and why am I late, all in front of my one customer.

I began to feel embarrassed, humiliated and upset that he was doing this in front of my customer so I asked him to leave because I felt harassed at this time and he then said to me, "You think this is harassment," and I said, "Yes because you're causing a scene in front of my customer." And he then said, "SO you're my customer," followed by more questions of "when can you come in" and why wasn't I smart enough to call and tell them about my payment I mailed off the day before I soon realized this was the same person who was rude to me before. After I told him I would not come in because of him humiliating me the way he did, he finally left.

My dad died recently and my brother continued living in his (now it's mine) house with the agreement that he would pay the utilities. My brother had multiple strokes and has remained unresponsive for several weeks. Among his bills was a loan from World Finance, and a woman had even visited the house and left a note. Assuming this was legitimate and urgent, I called them to pay off the loan. Because of privacy policies, they couldn't tell me anything. I understand policies, but I explained the entire situation to her, upset that she was forcing me to explain his medical situation. Didn't matter. They refused to tell me anything. I just want to pay it off, the entire amount, right this minute. Nope, it is against their policy, nothing she can do. I hung up on her. The previous day I had called (the note said to call immediately), I left a message, but they never returned my call. I have paid off the electric, cable TV, water, trash, everyone else, but World Finance can’t even tell me how much he owes, or they would have been paid off too. Yes, I understand privacy, but with no exceptions?

I am filing bankruptcy and Eric ** is my attorney. He advised me to contact my creditors and tell them I am filing bankruptcy. I told them verbally and sent a cease and desist letter telling I am filing bankruptcy and to contact my attorney if they have any questions. They continue to harass me with threatening voicemail messages and letters. This is causing me a lot of stress. I had to have double surgery with my appendix and gall bladder removed out at the same time and have only been back to work about three weeks. I was informed that if you send a cease and desist letter for lender to not contact you anymore but to contact your attorney, the lender is to honor this request. World Finance completely ignores my request.

Dear Consumer Affairs, (Serious Complaint Against World Finance)

I am writing you to ask you to please help us! My name is Karen Banks & I am the wife of William Banks and we have one 8 year old. Yesterday, on 10-29-2009, I returned from picking our 8-year-old up from school around 3 something in the afternoon. My husband was still at work during this time. I hopped on the phone & began telling my mother that our 8-year-old made A Honor Roll. At this time a man began ringing our doorbell. Being a woman home alone I did not answer the door. The man rang the bell again and waited in front of the door. Time passed and he rung the bell several more times over a long period & just started lingering on my porch. I could see the shadowy figure of a man but I did not answer because I assumed once he thought no one was home he would leave. We get solicitors around here sometimes and we just don’t answer because they leave after awhile. Well, time passed & I continued on the phone talking to my mother about never answering the door for unknown men. The man then came back and rang the door again. I do not have a window in the front of my house so I went to my bedroom to see if I could recognize the car and the man. The man parked to where I could not see his car, only the front end of it and I then noticed he had not left or returned to his car! I went back to the living room to try to keep an eye on the man through my curtained door, but then he appeared to have left the porch by then. I mistakenly thought he was gone. Time passed and then he came back and my child screamed, “Mommy the man is trying to get in!” My heart sank & I told my mom someone breaking in I have to call 911. The man began jerking our door very hard and trying to open it! I called 911 and was talking to them when the man drove off. I gave them the best information I could and they took it all down and asked me if I were sure he was gone and I said yes I don’t see the front end of his car now. When I was sure this man was gone I opened my front door and it was a card from World Finance left! World Finance sent some thug to our home! The card said my husband had a past due amount of 346 dollars. Instead, of the man just leaving the card he lingered on our porch for a very long time and then later attempted to come in our house! This man was up to no good! When I did not see him return to his car early on I now know he was going around our house trying to look around before he came back and tried to break in! I immediately informed my husband, mom, and friends who sent the man. I then called World Finance and got a female on the phone. She immediately went in on the attack on me. I told her I just had to call 911 on her employee for trying to break in my house. Instead, of this woman saying “oh no” she began saying, “Yes, thats right William owes us money and we have a right to come there and collect.” I told her you do not have a right to send a man to break into my home and she said, “Yes, we do as long as his account is overdue we can come to your house anytime.” I said you can’t break into peoples homes and she just went on and on saying its within their rights to come into people homes when there is a debt. I realized she was deranged and I began saying repeatedly, “Cease & desist your harassment. Cease desist your harassment.” She was saying, “We don’t have to stop anything when he owes us money and we will keep coming until he settles his account.” I told her don’t send anyone else to this home and she had better cease & desist the harassment immediately!” I ended up having to hang up on her because she said they had a right to enter my home and collect. If they felt they were not getting paid they should have gone to court and not sent some thug to break into our home and terrify my 8-year-old and myself. At the moment the man began jerking our door, I felt he was trying to come in and not only rob us but rape and murder as well! I can’t explain the fear or terror of having some strange man appear at the door, disappear, and then suddenly reappear and began trying to open the door! For World Finance to condone that kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also thuggish, dangerous, and could have resulted in the death of my child and myself, or even the man trying to come in on us. The police came shortly after and informed me that they did not even have a right to come to my home and that there is so much crime going on now that the police wanted World Finances number. I gave him the number and he said he was going to call them about this matter and he told gave me some safety tips because there is so much crime going on now. In closing, last night World Finance called again even after everything happened trying to collect on the past due amount! Those people are sick! My child and I were horrified & can’t even explain the fear that set in once their hired thug began jerking our door & trying to enter! I can’t explain the horror that overwhelmed me at that moment! My survival instincts kicked in & I was grabbing my child to run out of the back door. This should have never happened! My husband was not home and even if he was they should never sent a strange men to our home! There’s a proper way to conduct business & they have chosen an illegal way. Please, stop them from ever contacting us or coming to our home again! They said they are not going to stop. I feel they should be shut down and fined for using violence to collect on small loans. Now my child and I are scared to be home alone and I am scared to get in the shower thinking someone will break in and I will not have a window to hop out of. They have done a lot damage to my baby and myself and they should be made to pay for that behavior. Violence should never be used for any debt especially a small one. They have gone beyond scare tactics they are using violence! World Finance is nothing more than dangerous loan sharks. Please, stop them immediately: ( Thank you for your time and God Bless you. ~The Banks Family~ k_banks28@sbcglobal.net

First, these people charge an extortionate rate of interest. One day after the payment is due, they are on the phone and they call every day until the payment is made. They have called my friends and family, they have called me at work after I have asked them not to, and they even came to my home and left a note on the door about the debt. One time, they visited me at work and the lady said I need to own up to my responsibilities and pay my debts.
