Consumer Complaints and Reviews
Awful embarrassing messages, not my debt! Come home from working hard, "this is a debt - you contact blah blah." Not my debt for a **. Don't know him.
I have not received any written demand letter; however, I receive, on average, 2 calls per diem. I do not owe anyone, as I do not use credit cards. Since I have caller ID, I merely let the call go to voicemail. After reading the comments regarding this debt collector, next time they call I will answer it just to heckle the caller. When & if, I get a letter I will contact the Consumer Fraud division of my state's AG office.
Trying to collect a debt from a person whom has passed on to heaven 6 months ago. Calls my phone number of times from different numbers. They need to stop and they make threats uncalled for. Also from a 716 213 6929, 844-626-5403 and 888-306-0520.
I ordered a product to try as a 30 day trial. Without my approval this company put me on an automatic payment & shipment "program" and charged my credit card $99 without my approval. When I called this company to tell them I did not want any more of their product & that they didn't have permission to charge my card, they just argued with me and only offered to give me a credit of $99 to use on something else they sell. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get it taken care of. Buyer BEWARE. This is a very deceptive company!!
People BEWARE of this company. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, sent my husband a letter today stating we had an outstanding debt with Household Financial in the sum of over $1,100.00. So, I call them and the girl was arguing with me and said I was yelling at her. After a series of this arguing, I finally get to the point that they tell me this is a debt from 2003 and that we had made payments until 2004. Well, we had a bankruptcy which everything was written off in at this time. I told the girl IF this was our debt, the statute of limitations had run out and she said that didn't matter they just couldn't report it on our credit but we still owed it and they could take us to court.
I told her NO, statute of limitations MEANS just that they can NOT come after us for it and whatever you do, do NOT admit the bill is yours or agree to make payments as this resets the Statute of Limitations and makes the debt new again. Also, you're better off not to even talk with them. They were going to put me through to a supervisor but just left me on hold forever. They buy these old debts for pennies on the dollar and try to get you to make payment arrangements to reset the debt and then they make money. DO NOT TALK TO THEM!!!! These people are terrorists. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY OR ANY OF YOUR BANK INFO OR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Just hang up on them or better still DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS. They will TWIST WHAT YOU SAY!!

I worked for Leading Edge two years ago and I agree with the other comments. They do harass and threaten people every day. On top of that they treat their employees horribly. Leading Edge is not a company anybody wants to deal with. They are full of crap. That's why the company is going under.
We have been getting daily automated calls from these jerks for about 3 months now. I tried to call them back to tell them we DO NOT OWE ANYONE ANY MONEY but only got put on hold with regular breaks for an automated message that said, "All our agents are busy now"...!! IF they were a legitimate company with a legitimate claim we would get a freaking letter!!!!!! I am going to continue to delete the daily messages, but I wish someone would investigate these jokers and stop them from harassing people!!!!
Somehow, this company has our phone number and a computer makes phone calls daily to collect on some kind of debt that we do not owe. We called and talked to a person at the phone number given on the message and were told that we would be taken off the "call list". However, we continue to receive these computer collection calls daily and now when I call the phone number, I get a busy signal. HOW DO WE STOP THESE PHONE CALLS?
I was contacted by this agency in many occasions. I returned their voicemail messages and instead of explaining why, I received so many threatening calls and messages. They would tell me I was going to be sued, put in jail and also I would lose my bank accounts. After further research from my attorney, we found out I had no debt and they had made a mistake.
My husband and I are 62 years old. We are constantly harassed by phone by this company. Their recording does not allow us to talk to a human. These people have the wrong phone number and people. We do not have any student loans nor have any children in debt. Obviously, this company is not very smart. How do they think they are to collect any debts when they cannot even look up the correct phone number of the person in debt? Do they believe every lie they are told? If you can contact this company and inform them of their stupidity to stop calling us, that would be helpful!
I have been getting repeated calls daily from them without any written notification prior. It's been 30 days and they are collecting a small one-time debt of $35 that I disputed and didn't clear off that is 14 years old. I called and made an attempt to tell them that I was exercising my rights to stop all calls and the collection agent kept rattling on and on, "This an attempt to collect a debt." I asked for the fax 4-5 times. I am disputing this debt and they are out of the statute of limitations for this debt that is now over $900. I hung up after them trying everything they could to keep me on the phone rattling off mumbo jumbo and trying to pass me off to a manager. I am mailing out my request of no further calls and they do not have any legal ramifications to collect this 14-year-old debt.
This company is very well known to break many FDCPA violations. On their automated recording, they're not allowed to say they are a debt collection agency. (They can only address this when they are asked.) They are not allowed to provide personal information on what the debt is about or what they're collecting on. They're not allowed when calling in at 888-306-0520 to say by calling them, you've accepted the terms. They're supposed to give the Miranda Rights. They continue to call my office (asking for a person who doesn't work there). And when I call them and tell them what they're doing is illegal, the ** on the phone had the balls to tell me that it's perfectly legal. I told him to remove my phone number and to stop calling. They continue to call, so I reported them to FTA. You can sue the company and the individual and can get up to $5,000.
These people called my blind mother, asked her for her SSI card #. They would not tell her their full company name. They asked my brother about her. They're the kind of people who should check their records more to find the right person. Yes, I called, yelled and told them how I felt about them calling my brother and mother. This happened in my own past that's why I got mad about it happening to them.
These fools at Leading Edge keep calling me with their ** automated call system asking for someone who I have never heard of. I have called and told them about this several times, but it keeps continuing month after month after month. I hate these jerks. They obviously have no clue what they are doing.
I called GE Capital and they told me my account was bought by Leading Edge Recovery. I called them and spoke with a David **. He was very nice and offered to help me with a payment plan. I told him okay, I would need a day to make sure I could afford the payments to which he agreed. The next day he called my mother and was very rude and in one statement told that I needed to call him asap. I had not even gotten the chance to call him back yet. Now I am ** that you called my mother and told her my personal business. I was paying this bill on time till GE Capital sent my bill to an address out of state and have never lived in for nine months. I contacted GE Capital and they admitted that they did this and that I never gave them permission to do a address change. The next thing I know, I am being turned over to Leading Edge. If you are going to give someone 24 hrs. to call you back, then do exactly that.
I keep getting calls from these folks who say I owe a debt to Chase and they want me to verify my identity by giving them things like DOB, SS#, address, etc. I refused since I do not have any debt with Chase Bank. They act like a scam artist trying to gather my identity info before they will tell me what the debt is about. They are rude and I think they are thieves. Do not do business with them.
Leading Edge Recovery Solutions out of Chicago are rude, dishonest and will flat out lie to you. They tried to tell me I agreed to a payment that I did not. When I confronted them, they said they had conversation recorded and I tried unsuccessfully to get them to play it, but they said they didn't have the time. I will not do business with them. They harass people at their jobs and then say no we didn't call. They say they sent me documents of proof I never received. I will take my chances with the original creditor, not doing business with these rude people!
On June 12-13, 2012, I received 3 phone call voicemails from 3 different individuals at Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. Unfortunately, I am not the person they are trying to reach! Within the last 2 years, I was receiving messages from a law office in Nashville asking for the same person. And just yesterday, I received 2 phone calls hours apart from someone looking for Stephanie ** on my cell phone. The caller did not identify themselves or their company. **! Really! I can be harassed because some pitbull bill collector has been given my number in error!
I received a letter from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, Chicago, IL dated April 2, 2012 for a debt at least over 10 years old to Providian National Bank. It is so old, I have no records of it on my credit report anymore. I believe I paid the debt off after it was on my reports and then waited the 7 required years for it to be removed. If I didn't pay it off, I did have it on my credit reports the required 7 years and then had it removed. I suffered bad credit in the past and I have worked very hard to fix my credit, including paying off collections, paying high interest rates on two current vehicle loans and paying a credit restoration company to write letters to credit reporting agencies requesting they remove the incorrect information. This should be illegal what Leading Edge is doing, but they get away with putting false information on people's credit reports just because it is impossible to deal with the credit reporting agencies.
They called me several times in one day. The representatives were rude and nasty. They refused to give a settlement letter. They were demanding that I get my credit card or banking information.
Three different people called my home phone number every weekday beginning February 1, 2012, leaving a message for my estranged husband. The nonworking call back number they left did not ring when I dialed it. Shawn caught me at home this morning (2/9/12) and I told him they had the wrong number for the person they were trying to reach and to please take my numbered off their list. They continued asking me to provide info regarding where the subject person could be found and what was happening to his mail and insisting that I answer questions regarding this person. I told them they were harassing me by continuing their interrogation and if they called my number again, I would give their info to my lawyer and hung up. The conversation was harassing. Also, the name of the company they gave was different from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions that was on their audio on hold greeting.
Due to health related issues I spent a few years off and on having surgeries. Having no medical insurance, and at the time, having on Medicare I used a charge card. I tried to keep up but when my social security kicked in it became impossible to pay everything so I went to this debt settlement company - Leading Edge. I started out talking with Jeovani, then Michael ** then to several clerks then I was passed over to Eric ** and then finally to a guy named Adam.
I had agreed to pay $300.00 a month and would call to let them know the payment was being sent. I am now 71 and thought I only owed two more, 300 dollar payments and wanted to break it down to $150.00 a month instead of the $300.00. Both Eric ** and Adam (whatever) would not let me get a word in edgewise. They said they had me on tape saying one thing or the other and I asked to hear those tapes. No response. Because they had my bank account routing number and account number they took money from my account that I had already programed on line with my bank to be paid. They never informed me they would be taking any money on their own.
Both Eric and Adam threatened me, intimidated me, beat up on me verbally and threatened they would call the credit card company and tell them to collect the entire debt from me as I was not cooperating with Leading Edge. When I asked what would happen to the money I already sent Leading Edge they hung up on me!
I received about 8 calls in the past 14 day from a "Darryl Rose and Assoc.” I am told this is a false name used by Leading Edge Recovery so you don’t know it’s a collection agency calling. The phone message says to press 1 to talk to a rep. When you do, the call hangs up and you get a dial tone. This happened every time. They left a call back number of ** every time. When you call the number you get a physical therapist that has no idea what is going on. She told me she has received numerous calls for a month totaling in the hundreds. So I finally got fed up and did some research and found out who was calling. It was Leading Edge and whoever recorded their phone message transposed the phone number. I also found out some disturbing things.
They are accused of being a credit card scam company and of using many "phony names" (couldn’t resist) in pursuit of their greed. I don’t have or I have never had a bill go to collections. Nor have I had any dealings with a collection agency. I do, however, know that they must be licensed and follow the law. It appears this company is not doing that. I am tired of being harassed by these people for no reason and would like to file a complaint and also seek monetary damage for the harassment itself and the time involved chasing down this "company".
If they are trying to get people to pay their debts and be honorable individuals, that’s fine. If Leading Edge Recovery Solutions are being deceitful in their business practices or are indeed a "scam", they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don’t understand how a company that has received so many complaints still has a license. If Leading Edge thinks people should pay for their mistakes, then Leading Edge should pay for their mistakes. Enough said.
Stated they are fraud lawyers for a bank and threatened to sue me after Bankruptcy discharge for a debt I don't owe. The account is not known to me but they have all my banking info. Stated they know my schedule and where I live and may come calling to collect the debt. They continue to call via automation. Our phone line is now recording all calls in and out.
I have recently been getting harassing phone calls from this collection agency. Today it was from tel. # 888-306-0558 and the agent stated her name was Martha **, I had her spell it. The debtor is my brother who lived in my state for a few years. Since we share the same last name, I frequently get calls about his outstanding bills. Most agencies stop calling once I make them aware that they have reached the wrong person, but Leading Edge Recovery Solutions doesn't let up. They are all extremely rude as would be expected from anyone who would work in such a **-profession.
I need to report them to the FTC or attorney generals' offices and do some more research on how to get them to stop calling. I will not pay for a certified letter to cease and desist, but am willing to file complaints electronically. Anyone who has any great ideas on how to punish these people, feel free to respond. I normally don't have to take matters very far but this company has ** greatly.
I called the number back and it was about a debt owed by me. They asked me a series of questions about my financial situation to try and set up a payment arrangement. I complied. I guess my answers weren't good enough for them. It was because they started to argue with me about how my bills were being paid. I have no bills at the moment. But for some reason that wasn't good enough for them. I was hung up on. So, I called back and asked to be directed to a manager, BJ **, with the intent to complain about the woman I first talked with. He then told me that she did nothing wrong by arguing with me. So, I asked him, “Is this the way you teach your employees to talk to people?” He said no and continued to argue with me. All I wanted to do was get this debt taken care of. He then put me on hold and never got back on the line. These people have very rude techniques.
I was contacted for an older debt. I have been out of work for over two years. I found a job two months ago. They threatened me with immediate wage garnishment if I did not pay the amount owed immediately. When told I could not, they became threatening in manner. We finally were able to set up a payment plan. They had to have checking account information, they would not accept my sending a check to them. They said they would turn the debt back to the owner where it would have interest and penalties and the debt would be much more.
After I finally agreed, they then told me there was an additional charge of $7 to have them deduct from my account. However, there would be no additional charge if I sent a check. But they would not accept a payment plan where I sent a check.
I was checking my credit report and saw that Leading Edge was categorized as a "Hard inquiry", which according to the credit bureaus means that was given permission to pull a report.
Well, no. I have never heard of them until my credit alert notified me. I then looked them up only to find that they do, and have done this to many people. This is crap, and they can not be allowed to get away with this!
In December, I was contacted by Leading Edge Recovery Services (LERS) that they purchased my debt from Chase Bank. At this time, their threats scared me enough that I set up withdrawals from my account. I got to the point where I needed help so I contacted a debt consolidator. As we were going through my credit report, we found the LERS did not even show on my credit report other than they made an inquiry to the month they contacted me. At this time, I was advised to stop payments and ask that they proved to me that this debt actually was legit. They have not done yet.
I keep getting their threatening phone calls saying I'm breaking the law by not paying them. But I told them until they can provide this debt belongs to me, they will not be getting any money from me. I've already paid them $1,500. And I'm sure I won't get any of that money back. But I'd like to know what I should do to handle this and what my legal rights are as a consumer.
I have been receiving these calls from Leading Edge Recovery for approximately 6 months. I explained that I have filed an amortization in my county and was paying bad debt through the court system. I asked to be taken off call list. These calls came in daily, sometimes I ignored and sometimes I answered. When I did answer someone was on the other end but did not speak. Tonight I answered and the person on the other end demanded to know my address. When I did not want to give it when he would not tell me his name or company, he became very abusive. He then asked for my social security number. I did not tell him this. He began harassing me, talking fast, not letting me talk and very augmentative. I hung up and he called back. I would like to know who I can contact in Wisconsin if I need to file this in my state. Otherwise I would like to speak to someone in your office.
