Closed account; Tinder continued taking my money!! Had to cancel my credit card to stop them! Canceled my account after 45 days. Tinder makes it VERY complicated to stop a subscription. There are innumerable complaints about this! In addition, the Tinder website has additional charges for every little thing. Zoosk or Our Time are MUCH BETTER. Tinder screws their customers...period.

Awful company, engages in deceptive and manipulative practices to scam users out of time and money. Low quality users, tons of fake accounts and spam bots, and half the site's features don't even work correctly.

It comes with no surprise that the average rating about Tinder is low. From one side, swiping to find matches can be addictive at times, but this don't make any sense. The physical appearance of someone is only one aspect of his or her attractiveness and pictures are only incomplete representations of someone's look, that is, even from the physical point of view, a picture may be old, filtered or simply may not show the real appearance of someone. For this reason, profile completeness is a critical factor in social media and, especially, in dating platforms and Tinder, just like other free dating apps, doesn't really care about profile quality.

But this is not the only problem. There is also a serious gender disbalance in free dating apps, an average of 70 men for 30 women and this is very bad, because women get overwhelmed by irrelevant and - often - prosaic messages, they don't get paid to read and answer dozen of messages per day and they get quickly tired and eventually stop using the app. Most men never manage to get read, they have to much low quality competition, without mentioning fake or deceptional profiles. There is almost no control about this.

Finally, free apps like tinder will compute a score of your profile based on other users engagements. If you have a low score, you will only see people with low scores. To sum it up, apps like Tinder don't care at all about the success of their users. People should understand that social media or dating users are not customers who are always right. They don't pay anything. Their customers are the companies that pay to advertise on these platforms. They, and not you, are the customers who are always right. You are a customer when you pay for something, not when you are using a free service from someone.

For this reason, the main goal of Tinder, and other services like that, is to make you stay online on their platform as long and as much as possible. If you succeed, you will not stay, you will leave. They don't care if women stop using the app, as long as their advertising strategies will work. For this reason and other, free dating services never work. Paid dating services are better, but they are still pigeonholed to the concept of meeting people on you area. Should I suggest anything? I will not suggest popular alternative that are almost identical and everyone already know. I will suggest a new service whose business model is completely different: www.meetero.com. This service is also a social media, then their business model is not based only on showing you ads or making money by subscriptions.

On Meetero, there are both dating and social features. Everything is free for women but dating features are partially paid for men, in that sense that men can use them freely during some time and then, if they want to continue using the service, they must get a yearly Premium subscription, similar to what people normally pay monthly. The paid options are only to reduce ad dependency and a way to help avoiding gender imbalance. Also they are a way to cover the maintenance fees of the service, which are high.

I tried it, they highly promote people's vanity and virality. They use an inverse-affinity algorithm, so people who searched for users like you in past searches, are the first you will see. On the other hand, if you post a story on Meetero, it will be viewed by all other members, without any algorithmic limitation. Meetero is a new service but it offers very new features. And, for this reason, I recommend it.

Never enjoyed dating apps. Too many scammers and irrelevant people. People who try to scam you by offering love forever. "Oh but my phone broke. Please send money so we can connect and chat." Hard to find someone who is sincere or didn’t ask for money.

Tinder is overrun with fake profiles, bots, and time-wasters, making it a poor choice for actual hookups. The swipe system feels superficial, and matches often lead nowhere. Compared❤️ to Datemio, where profiles are verified and intentions are clear, Tinder feels like a guessing game with low success rates. The paid features are overpriced for what little they improve. If you want real, no-nonsense connections, skip Tinder and use a dedicated hookup platform instead—it’s faster, easier, and way less annoying.

Very poor dating site. They have banned my account for no justified reason. It is impossible to speak with anyone from this poorly run dating site. I Strongly suggest that you use another site for your dating needs.. Semper-Fi

I tried to make an account, and it banned me before I could even build a profile. After checking my phone number and email account with verification, they banned me and demanded I make a video to verify my photos. I contacted their email support and asked how I can delete my account because I didn't want to make a video, and they ignored me 4 times and told me to do the verification. There was no suspicious activity as they said. I never even got to make a profile so how is that suspicious? It's a scam to get personal info and pictures for their database I suspect. They say that they will keep the information for 2 years and then delete the account. Why do they have power over my personal information? Why can't consumers have a say on what companies do with their information?

No way to contact. App not working. It won’t allow you to delete your profile. Thank God, I never use my banking information to sign up for any of their extras. However, I’m very concerned that they have my personal information and I’m not able to delete it.

I was on Tinder for a few years off & on. Over a year ago I was banned for no reason, they do not tell you! The very fact they know all about your phone, IOS, where you log in, very personal information is highly concerning! I rejoined again later, they kept making me do selfies several times to confirm my identity! I come with the FTC, making a consumer complaint! I feel they are discriminatory, they prevented me from seeing any matches or likes, they shadow-banned me & treated me very disrespectfully! They do not deserve to be online and should be stopped from their deplorable behavior the way they treat people.

They don't read or don't understand English. I would write out an explanation and get a canned response to another issue that was not related to my problem. I'm trying to cancel payment with my bank, but I'm probably going to take a loss. Their software will ban you if you connect with a VPN. They are so pathetic and you can't talk with a person, total joke.

Tinder author review by Mark Brooks

Tinder is a mobile dating app that can be downloaded and used for free. It is currently the largest and most popular dating app online with over 50 million downloads. It is best known for its extremely popular swiping feature.

      • Social Media Login: Tinder uses your Facebook profile as a means of sign up for their dating app. This helps prevent fraud and makes it easy to quickly import information and photos over to Tinder so you can begin searching immediately.

      • Swiping: Tinder's popular swiping feature allows members to quickly move through matches until they find people of interest. If you do not like the profile you are looking at, swipe left and you will not see them again. If you are interested, swipe right. If you accidentally swipe in the wrong direction, you can now pay to unswipe a match.

      • Consent before contact: While most dating sites will let users contact anyone in their membership ranks, Tinder will only allow you to contact someone if you have both "Swiped Right" on each other.

      • Quick local matching: Tinder is most popularly used as a way to meet people the same day within close proximity.
