Registered on the site and was given a questionnaire. The questions were different than other sites I've used and seemed more relevant. When I finished the registration process it found me matches. All in all the site performed well for its cost which was free.

I attempted to create an account and sign-up for the service. When I completed the information and answered all the questions, I received an e-mail from a completely different dating service that charges an exorbitant amount of money and said in an article in the Lincoln Journal Star that they were free. Why was I not able to create an account and avail myself of their free dating service unless they're another scam?

What problem is your company trying to solve?℠ provides perhaps the best solution to the age-old problem of finding a great match that will lead to a successful, long-term relationship. Our service was created because our founder noticed problems with the way we tend to approach dating both in traditional offline settings and through many competing online dating services. Our site introduced a completely new way to date that addresses many of these problems.

What sets your company apart from the competition?

First and foremost, the fact that our site is completely free sets us apart from the vast majority of the competition. All features are fully functional, allowing users to complete full profiles and communicate with matches unrestricted. This has the added benefit of eliminating the countless “teaser” profiles commonly found on many competing services, whose owners can’t reply to your messages due to not having a subscription.

Additionally, we are a not-for-profit dating service funded by donations only. As of January 2015, we have received over $500,000 in donations from charitable parties and presently have enough funds to keep the site running for nearly 10 years. What’s the most common misconception consumers have about your industry?

The tactics of many competing services have done a great job of tainting the image of online dating in general. “Teaser” profiles, restricted functionality, fake users and ineffective matching techniques have given online dating a bad name, convincing many that it’s simply a waste of time. When in reality, it’s perhaps one of the greatest gifts the internet has given us. It’s a technology that, when properly implemented, truly has the potential to change the world allowing many people to make a connection where it would otherwise not be possible. We’d like to think we’ve got the right formula to accomplish this.

How has your industry changed in the last 10 years?

Dating sites a decade ago were focused on simply connecting people. Many online dating services have since began to slowly realize, it doesn’t just need to be done – it needs to be done right. Basic matching techniques have since been implemented on many sites, however we don’t feel their methods are geared properly to produce good results. Complaints on the web largely confirm this notion. Perhaps due to being for the large part ineffective, there has been a recent mass migration to free dating services. We’d like to think we do it better – and we do it for free.

What is something you wish every consumer knew about your company?

We wish every person could know the satisfaction that comes from a successful relationship. We also wish everyone could know exactly how hard and tirelessly we have worked on a solution to hopefully make this possible. It’s truly a personal mission in the eyes of our founder, who came up with the idea for this site after several failed relationships of his own. He firmly believes we need a better way to date in today’s world.
