Classmates is very sneaky. They renewed my my subscription, which I was totally unaware of. I tried to dispute it and they wouldn’t reverse the charge. They need to be shut down! Automatic renewals like this should be outlawed. People forget what they subscribe to and then all of a sudden they have a charge for renewal that they didn’t want or authorize.

Just horrible! Charged me $62 for a year in advance and I don't use them! Have no idea how it happened. They don't care, were rude, said NO REFUNDS....just awful. I never use them nor ever will! DON'T SIGN UP or even look at anything! Just unbelievable!!!

This is my review of classmates.com. I have been getting so many posts from my girlfriend when she has only made one post to me since I joined in November of 24. Something is wrong with this site. Are they a scam or not. I have talked to some of my old friends from high school. But I keep getting postings over and over and over again from all these people that I know are only contacting me one time. So I will cancel my membership today. It seems like this is a dishonest website. People beware. My friends from high school have contacted me once but I received the same contacts over and over again.

If I could give this rating a zero, I would. I signed up and paid $9.00 for 3 months. Granted, it was only $9.00 but to someone on a fixed income, every little bit helped. It claims to have your classmates on there as well as yearbook information. When I paid and gained access, it had NOTHING! I think there were about 3 people from my class. There were no yearbooks associated with it. I asked for a refund the next day and of course, was told no. People - DO NOT fall for this. I should have read reviews before I purchased. It is a SCAM!

As with many others, UNAUTHORIZED renewal took place on January 11, 2025. Spoke with Customer service agent, and was told it is right in the online application of purchase. Funny how so many of us have missed this hidden policy! As a Canadian, $60.00 US funds became $90.29 Canadian. Very scripted response from AGENT, stating they will NOT refund a so-called automatic renewal! BUYER BEWARE!

I joined this website. Actually several years ago, but did not renew. However, I did a 3 month renewal recently that was to expire Dec. 31st. Unbeknownst to me, they retained my payment information, put me on automatic renewal, renewed me WITHOUT notification a renewal (which I had not authorized) was taking place. I keep a prepaid card especially for online orders to prevent scammers like them from hacking my account. I put money on the card when I'm going to place an order for that amount, then place the order immediately. Thus....a scammer (like this site) may "get me"...but not for much.

I had put money on my prepaid card for a medicine order on Dec 27 and these sleazy crumbs took an automatic automatic renewal from my card on Dec 29th. I had not approved nor authorized any such renewal. They did not notify me a "renewal" was going to happen. Because of this, an important lifesaving medical order was canceled. These sleazeballs had jumped in. Without my permission and taken money causing the APPROVED payment to be canceled. I am now trying to get this resolved at 4:30 in the morning so my medication will ship. Don't use this website!!

I was disappointed to find that Classmates.com has policies in their terms of service that automatically turn on auto-renewal and do not provide notice of upcoming payment on their 3 month membership. They apparently do notify for one and two year memberships. I found out when I received a PayPal notice of payment. I think they do this to get at least one additional payment from people who don't want a long membership and who don't read the pages of fine print. I am not going to continue my membership. The website is okay, but I got lots of email notices, most of which are them telling me someone has looked at my profile or I have a new notification, most of which were from classmates.com and very few from my own classmates. It was okay to have this prior to my reunion, but I don't see using it year after year.

Wow... 2,404 reviews so far as of Dec 22, 2024 and 96% of them (2,307/2,404) are only a "1" score which is the worst review score available. Nearly all reviews are about the auto-renew charge... and there is no doubt that not a one of them will ever subscribe again. Just seems to me that if they lowered their price to $19.95 a year or so (instead of $48/yr) and then always provided at least 2 emails several days prior to the auto-charge.. they might get a majority of those folks to accept the auto-renew and be happy about it... and thus, those folks would likely tell all their friends... and the site would have a lot more happy customers and bring in more income.

Just a very bad policy with absolutely no concern whatsoever whether they retain good customers or not. More like a money hungry wolves who cannot see past their own noses. Classmates would rather 'scam' money from potential customers with a somewhat deceptive auto-renew policy than actually earn it via treating customers right.
