I've been a long time user of Covergirl mascara (over 20 years), but recently they changed their product. I bought the new "Total Tease" and used it a couple of times before I got an eye infection. Cleared up with meds, but I threw out all my eye makeup and started fresh. This time I bought Full Lash Bloom. Within days I had an eye infection again and required more medicine. I stopped using mascara for over a month and just bought Revlon - no issues so far after several weeks use. My doctor told me it was a bacterial infection from the mascara. I won't be buying Covergirl again.

I have used Cover Girl Cheekers blush and the single eyeshadow for decades without issue. The last time I purchased these items (just a few weeks ago) I noticed they were more crumbly than usual. Usually these products last me at least 2 or 3 months or more. I am just about out of both due to the rapid crumbling away. New formula, undoubtedly...I am super disappointed and probably will look for a replacement product with another brand. It won't be easy to replace what I have used and loved for decades. I don't know why you have to ruin a perfectly good product and lose faithful customers.

Purchased new makeup due to an eye infection that I had. Bought all new Covergirl products, Peacock Flare Mascara and Covergirl foundation with SPF because I’m very fair. Well, after using the product, I woke up with swollen, itchy eyes. Fortunately, not as terrible as other people’s pictures I have seen in this review post. However, bad enough to scare small children. I am definitely not purchasing any more Covergirl makeup... kinda over this itchy redness.

What kind of mascara is this for goodness sake, I have never had any kind of eye problem and now the doctor is suggesting I use medicated glasses, went to Shoppers drug mart where I bought the mascara to tell them what had happened and the manager asked if I wanted a refund, she didn’t show empathy towards me. Nothing, I am a call center agent and now I can’t even work without wearing sunglasses, I’m supposed to be at work today and I’m stuck at the doctor's office, my head is aching, me eyes are hurting, I’m literally crying right now... someone pls help me, this is really bad...

I have watched the current ad with the older woman who laments that some women reach a point where they ‘give up’ and she’s wondering (looking at herself in a mirror) when that time is? I am not sure what the approach and desire of this ad is. When I watch this ad, looking like her at any age is not what I aspire to do. In fact, I am 70 this year and THIS is what 70 should look like. No offense to her but this ad just doesn’t make me want to be Covergirl anything.

I have been buying Covergirl eyebrow pencils for as long as I can remember. They recently switched their packaging but I was able to find my colour. Was thoroughly annoyed when the pencil kept breaking, thought defective set. Bought another package and same thing happening. I am getting half the product as it keeps breaking on me. I am reading lots of other issues with eye infections for mascara and eyeliners and will no longer be buying anything Covergirl again. You guys messed up bad with this recent quality dive.

Purchased these pencils at a Walmart in my area. As of lately the pencil tips break off the pencils when you sharpen them so you're really only getting half of the product you're paying for. More importantly, I have started to break out in my eyebrow area! I have never broke out on this part of my face! Also, I'm 61 years old. This has to be a reaction to the eyebrow pencils. I will never use them again. Must be some type of chemical in them now. Terrible, terrible quality. What is going on here???

Process of elimination with make-up and thankfully I wear very little. I am thankful to find the complaints here about Covergirl mascara since they confirmed the results I experienced using Star Wars brand mascara by Covergirl. Painful eyes, watering, tissue tears, unable to focus and more! Sounds like a recall is in order so who is holding this company to the fires in getting these products all mentioned in the reviews off the market and not returning a product to market until they fix the ingredient formulas that seem to be suddenly causing physical harm. This mascara is in the garbage...

I bought the purple Ink It eyeliner because I’d been using CoverGirl products for years with no problem. It was a trusted brand. Each time I wore the eyeliner the next day my eyes would be bloodshot. At first I thought it was coincidence, but it kept happening. The last time I wore it the very next day I woke up with BOTH eyes swollen and like they had pink eye. I went to doc who said bacterial infection and gave me eye drops. I ditched all make up for well over a month, pitched the Ink It eyeliner, and will try another brand.

I will start by saying that I have used CoverGirl mascara since I was around fourteen years old. I have never had an issue prior to 2017. In late July I got the Katy Kat mascara, and the next day I woke up with my right eye swollen shut, red, with a film of pus, and I was in a great amount of pain. I went to the eye doc, and he said it was a bacterial infection likely from me working with kids. I did not think it could have been my CoverGirl product, because all of the mascaras I have used in the past have been great. I stopped wearing makeup for 3 weeks, threw out all of my old makeup, and the infection cleared up. I was cleared to wear makeup again, and shelled out over $100 to replace all of my brushes, etc. The day after I wore the makeup, I then had infections in BOTH eyes. I received a stronger prescription, threw away all of that makeup, and started the process all over again. This was at the end of July, and it is now the end of September.
I feel ridiculous for not realizing that it was my mascara, but it was always a tried and true product for me. I've spent around $60 on replacing this product since July, only to find that it was this product that has made me sick. I am now on steroid eye drops because of how many times I've had an adverse allergic reaction to the CoverGirl products. I found out that it was the mascara because I tested my makeup one at a time over the span of a few days. The morning I applied my mascara was the same day that I started to feel that familiar eye pain and pressure by nightfall.
Whatever they have changed in their products has been a poor decision on their part, considering many are having reactions to this mascara, and they have lost a long term customer because of it. I will never be using CoverGirl again, and I've shown my friends my pictures (they were all worried and confused about it as well) and my friends and family are also changing brands because they are afraid that it will happen to them, too.

I purchased Katy Kat mascara some time ago and after using it the first time, I noticed my eyes were itchy but couldn't figure out why at first. I figured that the reaction may be the mascara since that was the only thing that changed in my daily routine. I had ran out of mascara so I used the Katy Kat (forgetting about the issue I had before) and by the end of the day my eyes got super itchy and puffy. My eyes were swollen for 4 days, I missed work and previously scheduled plans. The only thing I could do to relieve the pain and discomfort was take ** and sleep. I contacted CoverGirl and they gave me a rather generic scripted response with a $9 voucher for the cost of the product. Although it isn't about the money per se, it's the way in which it was handled that is disturbing. This is an absolute horrible product and even worse customer service.

I have used the CoverGirl brand for as long as I can remember but recently I purchased the "So Lashy Blast Pro Mascara" in Black and had a terrible allergic reaction twice. The first time I used it on July 9th, I went to a family party, came home and used makeup wipes to clean my face before bed. The next day, my eyes felt itchy and the next couple of days swelling and itching increased. I saw the doctor on July 13th. I told her about the new Mascara and new foundation (also CoverGirl) but that I had also been around some dogs at the party but we couldn't pinpoint what was causing the reaction. She said not to throw the makeup away and try again in a few weeks.
After a week, the intense itching and swelling subsided but I waited an additional week before using anything on my face just as a precaution. This past Monday, July 24th, I put a small amount of the Mascara on and within a few hours I could feel the itching again. I used just water and a washcloth to clean it off immediately instead of a makeup wipe in case the mascara and wipe were acting in conjunction with one another. Tuesday I woke up to red swollen eyes that continued to swell all day. This morning, July 26th, I woke to my eyes almost being swollen shut. The pain was awful and the itching made things worse. I started to use a topical steroid cream prescribed by my doctor 2 weeks before and it has helped tremendously.
I've never paid attention to the mascara I bought because like I said, I've always used CoverGirl and have never had an issue. I usually switch up the type of Mascara every time trying new brushes etc. Now that I'm looking up the product online, I see that it is not one of the Mascaras listed as hypoallergenic but I was unaware of my allergy until now. I'm disappointed that this was the one time I bought a more expensive CoverGirl Mascara and had such a miserable experience.

In April I bought Katy Kat Eye mascara and have since battled itchy, angry red circles around my eyes, oozing and painful reaction. And when the swelling goes down my eyes look scaly and still itch. I was not sure what was causing this reaction because I get the same reaction from exposure to latex. I quit using mascara for a week and over the past two days I have finally had normal eyes again. So, I used the mascara again yesterday and what do you know, today I woke up with the same itchy red area (it's not my eyeballs, it's the skin around my eyes). Then as luck would have it, a friend of mine posted on Facebook a photo of her eyes and the description of her reaction was exactly what I have been experiencing. We got to talking and guess what mascara she recently purchased??? Katy Kat Eye! They need to get this off the shelves!

I bought Covergirl Perfect Point Plus eyeliner in Deep Burgundy around Christmas time. I used it brand new and suffered a reaction in both eyes. It was horrific. Puss, swollen, burning, eye pain, headache, and bloodshot (I mean demon possessed) eyes. I couldn't believe this was from one application of this eyeliner. Nevertheless, I didn't want to find out again so I set it aside.
On May 3, 2017, I was wearing a burgundy shirt and thought how nice that eyeliner would look with it. I was thinking, surely that eye infection couldn't have been the brand new eyeliner. Maybe, it was coincidence? I chopped off the top 1cm just in case and used it. Within hours, my eyes were burning, swelling, and itching so I washed it off. Too late! I am having the same reaction as last time. The pictures I have attached are from day two. One eye is clearing up faster than the other. There are what appears to be blistering as well. I have been wearing eye makeup for 28 years and have never had a reaction like this! I would like to know what this eyeliner is made of that could be so allergenic? This seems like a danger to the public, but what else can I do except write a review?

CG's lipstick is a winner especially that at an affordable price, it matches the quality and stunning effects of the most expensive cosmetic brands--maybe because CG spent more on the content of the lipstick rather on the casing. With its long-lasting impact, always available shades and no chap lips after effect, CG will always be in my beauty kit for daily use.

I found another location and after a while it was no longer available and I was told it was changed out for something else. No reason as to why. I continue to look for it but as I have been wearing my last 2 compacts of foundation I noticed that my face would get spotchy and acne and oily. I chose to stop putting it on for 2 weeks and clean my skin and I stopped having the problem. I purchased a compact yesterday, just to open it & find that they changed the mirror to a little tiny one inch thing you can't even see yourself in. Covergirl recently changed their formula for the colour "Mink". I have used the original Mink eyeshadow for over 17 years, every single day. The original Mink colour had a certain shimmer to it, that caught the eye, it lasted all day, and was easy to blend. I recently tried the revised formula, and I am disappointed that the new colour lacks shimmer!!! It also exudes a copper tone, that the original colour did not have.
The application of the product isn't as smooth as the original formula, and does not blend as well. Covergirl took an extraordinary shade, and turned it into a dulled down ordinary shade. I have not received any compliments on my makeup while wearing the new Mink shade, as it simply does not catch the eye as the original formula did. Had I known they were going to discontinue the original Mink colour, I would have purchased 100. Yet even with this effect, I was disappointed that it didn't just cause my right eye to tear up through out my day, it ruined my day. My right eyelid was hurting.
I couldn't believe a (high class brand) mascara can do that until I got home, quickly washed it off, and my eye feels better although it was red and still trying to heal from a whole day of pain. I can't believe that a company would sell this (a product that is waterproof but yet it's irritating). It's a BIG failure for me. I am very particular with my make up. My eyelashes came out in clumps... the product was sticky plus hard and would not remove itself from my eyelashes. I have no eyelashes on either eye. I have always had long curled eyelashes my whole life. Always complimented on my eyes. This whole ordeal has been very devastating as a woman to me. I am contacting the company. Due to family emergency is why I have not yet contacted them. The process will begin. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone.

I am a stockholder and have used Cover Girl nail polish for years because it never chipped and was long wearing. Those qualities are still there, but the design of that bottle and top have to go. It is very awkward to hold a square applicator. And, it's hard to get polish out of the bottom when it's still about 1/4 full. I cannot purchase another bottle until you at least return to a more ergonomic round top/brush and hopefully a matching round bottle.

My husband bought the "Bombshell Curvaceous by LashBlast" mascara for me a couple of weeks ago. On the first application I noticed my lashes became one big gooey eyelash, but I figured I put too much on. The first application last AN ENTIRE WEEK even after scrubbing with expensive eye makeup remover. I put a hot rag on my eyes to loosen the mascara and my eyelashes literally came out in huge clumps. I have a HUGE gap in my eyelashes on the left side. They take around 3-4 months to grow back. The gap is extremely noticeable and I look completely ridiculous. I'm so angry, I can't even complain enough. DO NOT USE THIS MASCARA.

The lids on the last few bottles of Covergirl foundation have absolutely crumbled after just a couple weeks of use. It's probably recycled plastic, which may be admirable but useless if the contents can't be contained. I'm on the road a lot, and with changes in altitude, and a cracked lid allows makeup to leak and mess the whole makeup bag. The other issue is crumbs of plastic getting into the makeup itself, which scratches the skin. The last several tubes of Covergirl Professional mascara I've purchased have also had packaging problems. The lid soon splits and the mascara dries out. I don't have a problem with the makeup or mascara themselves, it's the weak plastic lids. Sadly, after probably 30 years of Covergirl, I'll be looking for a different product on my next shopping trip--just because of the packaging.

Two weeks ago I went to a Walgreens to try on a bit of the TruBlend Foundation. I have been searching for a new one since I have been using the same foundation line for over a year. FYI my skin type is oily/combination and I have rosacea on my cheeks. Anyway... I grabbed one of the testers and I tried on the M5 shade on my hand. The liquid came out horrible, blended badly, and had an unpleasant scent. (I know it was probably just that tester that was like that but wait until I explain further...). I also put a tiny bit on my neck to see if it was close to my color. A few seconds later I had a bitter taste in my mouth. I thought it was strange and tasted like makeup. YES MAKEUP. I wiped it off and drank some water and forgot about it. I thought it was probably the bottle that was expired or something. I had seen a lot of good reviews about it on YouTube and online as well so I just forgot about it.
Two weeks later, I go to a Target because I finished my foundation and needed one for the following day. I decide to get the M4 shade because I have a yellow undertone and I got the concealer as well. I applied it the next day and literally just one minute after applying I felt the same bitter taste on my tongue that I felt a couple of weeks before. (This time, it blended gorgeously and I loved the after finish and the fact that it was my skin tone) I had applied a semi-thin layer of it on my face, but not on my neck this time. I was terrified when I looked at my tongue. The back half of my tongue was the color of the foundation. I am serious here. (I don't normally post reviews on makeup, but for the sake of others, I just want to get this out there.) I don't know how the foundation seeped through my skin and somehow made its way into my tongue, but it did.
As soon as I got to work I rinsed it off of my face and throughout the day I started feeling itchy around my nose and jaw area. This is the first time I ever experience something like this. I have tried many, many, many foundations before and never got an allergic reaction until now. Here I am a few days later after applying the foundation and tossing it away. This is day 3 after I applied and my face is itchy. I don't have any blisters or visible rashes but it is SUPER itchy. You can't tell that I am itchy but it is unbearable. I applied oatmeal with honey and it helped... a bit. I am on allergy medicine and staying away from foundations and hope that this goes away asap.
I'm not saying all of their makeup is bad. I like their eyeliners and mascaras, but just this particular foundation is making me stay away from the rest of their foundations from fear of this happening again. I also wanted to share this wherever I could to let other CoverGirl Trublend users who may have had the same allergic reaction that they are not alone. I googled my symptoms and I found no one shared the same experience I did.

I have noticed that the packaging is not consumer-friendly. Yes, it does allow for viewing of the color. However, when trying to open the package, it causes issues where the edge of the plastic cover scrapes the actual makeup and causes it to flake off. It happened to me where I was wearing a black coat and opened up the makeup and as it scraped off a piece of the makeup, it scattered all over my black coat. It was difficult to get the makeup off. Everything is not for everyone! Covergirl is a good reputably company. Now, I must say, I don't have a whole lot of Covergirl makeup. I use all different brands depending on the colors and styles I am looking for. Also, I know I am allergic to some of their products. Any normal person would know that an allergic reaction is by no means a fault of the manufacturer. It's part of life and if you're allergic to something, just move on to something else rather than write a bad review about the company. Every store that sells their products has small sheets available with the ingredients of their products and like every other chemical in the world, you should test it on a small area first to make sure you're not allergic to it. Duh!
I especially can't use their Simply Ageless Coverup because it clogs my pores really bad but that's my body, not their fault. I also don't care who they have representing them. I would rather see not so perfect people instead of super models. I'm glad to see that they're not expressing to young girls that they have to look a certain way. I also don't care about their sexual preferences. It's not my business and being the Christian that I am, I know that I shouldn't judge them. When I began seeing Ellen represent your product on commercials, I immediately decided I could no longer support your company. It seemed odd that you chose her to represent you since she is not known for her looks, but rather her comedian status and controversial life choices. Not only that, but she has not kept her lifestyle choices private. Many feel she has actively promoted the homosexual lifestyle, using her original show and her subsequent shows to promote that agenda. It is surprising that a company such as Cover Girl would not recognize how many disagree and are deeply offended with her choices, not as a private matter, but in seeing the attempt to change society's views to accept this behavior as acceptable and good.
As I said earlier, I stopped buying your products so that I would not be supporting the propagation of Ellen's and now Cover Girl's philosophy. You lost my trust and my patronage. My only regret is that I did not let you know why I stopped buying your product. However, I am quite offended, due to the fact that you have chosen a known homosexual to be your spokesperson. I just find that ludicrous, and a real slap in the face of each and every one of us, who have supported Covergirl all these years. Homosexuality is wrong. It is so wrong.
It goes against everything set forth in the Bible. God does not condone it, nor do many of us. You say you are progressive, and reaching out to all parts of society. I say you are not. You are selling us all down the drain. This product, for years and years, has been a mainstay in homes. I can remember my first Covergirl compact, when I was just a preteen. That you would sell us out like this, is completely thoughtless. What Ellen Degeneres does in her own home, should stay there, and quietly. Covergirl is no longer the great company it has been for years. Now, I no longer will buy your product. None of it. My whole family will not, and many of my friends. So I hope you think about this long and hard, because we are the ones who have kept your business going all these years. Not a drop in the bucket, like Ellen Degeneres and her degenerative lifestyle. You should see the pictures of how "easy, breezy, beautiful" Covergirl made me. Yeah, right! Covergirl told me on the phone that (surprise, surprise) they have never heard of this before. Well, I'm done with this company--makes me feel sick!

There are so many complaints with Cover Girl or is it Cover Boy? After all, that is the role Ellen *** plays in her homosexual relationship. He/she is the male partner. What has happened to Cover Girl? A once professional, reliable company has soured. Your products are suffering as you can see by the complaints and now a homosexual to represent your company.
Do you think the majority of women and teenage girls who buy your products are homosexual ? I am saddened as so many are and will not ever buy another Cover Girl, now Cover Boy product, as well as my friends and family. So sorry you have given into the homosexual pressure. They win. You lose. What a shame!

I have been buying Cover Girl products from my local pharmacy since I can wear makeup and I love your line, all of them, including the Queen collection. I also love to save a dollar or two, and because of these, I'm writing you guys. I went into my Local Family Dollar and I noticed that the Queen Collection was on sale (lots of manicure and Pedicure products) which was a great find; however, when I went to check out, the cashier called her manager over because she wasn't sure whether or not she can accept a coupon that clearly said $1.00 off any Cover Girl product.
To make a long story short, the manager refused to accept the coupon. I was very disappointed that after so many years of shopping your brand that a store like Family Dollar would not validate a coupon that you guys are making available to women like me who love to look good and like to save a dollar or two. Someone needs to know that your brand is being victimized just like I was. I'll never buy anything there again including Cover Girl products. Someone should let Family Dollar management know that $1.00 off coupon for any Cover Girl product means any including a collection like the Queen Collection.

I recently purchased Cover girl simple ageless foundation and concealer. After using for 2 days, my skin dried out horribly and is peeling around my eyes and nose. This looks and feels horrible. I have been covering my face several times a day with Vaseline to combat the dryness. I really don't want to go outside looking like this. I have never had any reactions to any Cover Girl products before. Any ideas on which ingredients to look out for?

I haven't worn foundation in years but I decided to try it again because my skin was doing better so I bought Covergirl trublend liquid foundation and right after I finished doing my makeup, I suddenly felt kind of hot and a little lightheaded. Then my whole body started to sweat and I felt like I wanted to faint so I sat down for a minute and it just kept getting worse so I stumbled to the sink and washed my face with a good cleanser and I could feel the allergic reaction start to subside. I know it was the trublend because it was the only thing out of my ordinary makeup routine that was different today. It scared me so bad. I will definitely not be buying Covergirl again! !

Today I tried Covergirl's new Olay Foundation. The label does say avoid eyes but no information on what to do if contact with the eyes is made. When I went to remove the make up, some of the foundation got into my eyes. They burned so much. I washed them out with water, eye drops and tears. 30 minutes later, my eyes feel almost 100% better. The foundation looked amazing but I'm too scared to wear it again.

Two days ago, I got Covergirl "moisturizing top coat". I applied it at work in the afternoon, and by the time I was leaving home at 5:00, my lips started swelling, with little bumps around the rim. This got worse the next day when my skin became dry, flaky, and painful. It seems like an allergic reaction. Strangely, I have used this product before with no reaction. I had a similar reaction when I used Chapstick before, and had totally stopped using it. I looked it up, and found out both these products contain propyl paraben that can cause contact dermatitis.

I used a brand new Covergirl liquilineblast violet/purple eyeliner for the first time. My eyelids swelled up and my eyes became bloodshot. I wasn't sure that it was the liquilineblast. But I waited two weeks and used it again. The reaction was even worse than the first time, with discharge, swelling, and the whites of my eyes were solid red. I went to eye doctor and had to get antibiotic drops for my eyes.

I always purchase cover girl smoothers translucent medium #715. When using the little "puff" to apply before it is half used it falls apart all over the area where I am applying so I do not get my moneys' worth. They need to do something to prevent this failure in your product. I then have to go out and purchase another because when that happens it is soon gone as it does this every time I apply it.

I always buy the Covergirl lash blast volume mascara in the orange waterproof tube. I loved it, until I got it this time on 11/01/11. It was very clumpy this time, and when I applied it on my lashes, after a hour it starts to flake off and I get black flakes on my face. The brush came apart from the inside of the top. I had to superglue it back on. I never had a problem with your makeup. Just disappointed the makeup is not cheap.

I always used Covergirl products and never had a problem and will continue, but will never buy this product again. Thank you.

I've used COVERGIRL products most of my life with no problems. A few weeks ago, I bought a bottle of the COVERGIRL Clean liquid makeup and started using it.
On my way to work, I noticed my lower lip was starting to feel funny. By the time I arrived at work, my whole lower lip was terribly swollen and numb. I had to leave work and go home. I took some Benadryl. It went down around bedtime. I didn't realize at the time that it was the COVERGIRL.
A few days later, I used some before going out for dinner. At dinner, my lower lip started swelling and getting numb again. I finally figured it out and quit using the makeup. I haven't had any more trouble. I guess I'll be switching to a new makeup brand.
Sorry, COVERGIRL. You lose. Oh, and the other complaints are exactly right about the stuff being almost impossible to get out of the bottle without using a Q-Tip and digging around to get some out. Boo! This company has really gone downhill.

I stopped using all of my makeup for the past two weeks and my face had almost completely cleared up.
I used my CoverGirl foundation again on Saturday (October 1st) and by the end of the night, my face was covered in huge hives/sores. After this experience and reading all of the reviews, I will never use this makeup again. I am very disappointed and I look terrible.

I have used COVERGIRL for sensitive skin for years. I have purchased three bottles with the silver top and neither of these bottles release the contents. Was it necessary to change the formula? Luckily, I have some pipe cleaners and was able to get some out of the bottle but this is very unsanitary. If you continue with this formula, the top should have an adapter that helps remove the contents; otherwise, it will be necessary to change brands. To those complaints regarding the eye products, I gave up on the COVERGIRL eye products a long time ago after two eye infections requiring absence from work. I don't need an attorney, just an apology and a reversal to a previously good product.

I purchased and have for the past 30 years Covergirl Make Up, from foundation and powder, to eyeshadow and mascara.
Recently, I purchased a new mascara. I noticed the wand is terribly hard to hold on to, slick and cone-shaped. When I was getting ready for work, with my shirt on already as normal trying to apply my mascara like every other day, the wand slipped out of my fingers, marking my face, shirt and rug on the floor. Now I have to fix my makeup, change my clothes and clean the floor causing me to be late for work.
I would really appreciate it if you would continue to make Covergirl with the standards you have. Just make the mascara wands user-friendly. A little fingergrip would be nice.

After seven months of agonizing pain, anxiety and several hundreds of dollars, I learned I am severely allergic to Imidazolidinyl urea, a toxic chemical found in cosmetics, skin care products, etc. I purchased Covergirl LashBlast and eye concealer in December 2010 (I'm a professional vocalist and work in the salon and beauty industry), and it caused contact dermatitis around my mouth and eyes! I've been trying to get rid of it for seven months and had no idea what was causing it. My allergist confirmed it was my Covergirl concealer and mascara! I'm very angry and I want this toxic product off the market!
I’ve spent hundreds of dollars in medicine and other skin care products trying to treat the burns and redness. It’s very frustrating! My dermatologist says contact dermatitis is very difficult to treat and he said they don't know if it’s allergy, stress or eczema. Well, I have multiple sclerosis and this has added stress which I need to avoid for my health. What disgusts me is these cosmetic companies know this chemical causes cancer and severe allergic reactions and put no warning labels on the side. Now I have to look for cosmetics that do not irritate my skin with Imidazolidinyl urea. I am a professional vocalist. My face has to be perfect and I had perfect skin. Now everything irritates my face.

I would like to know what is in the product that could cause this. Also, I have a small baby, and am now afraid to kiss him, as I don't think the residue was fully removed.

I tried Cover Girl Lip Stain and had an immediate reaction to this product. I could not breathe and my lips swelled up and the room was spinning. I ran to remove this product and used cold cream and soap and washed my lips for about 5-6 minutes, reapplying the soap and then used make up remover. I took Benadryl. My lips looked to be about two times their normal size. I felt lethargic. I sat down on my bed with my feet up. I was able to breathe easier in about 15-20 minutes. I sat for about 2 1/2 hours. My lip swelling lasted for about four hours. They were red. The lip stain I used was orange.
I called Cover Girl and they are closed on Sunday. I called on Monday and spoke with Miranda. I told her what happened. She put me on hold and when she came back to the line she asked me if I had "chemical" allergies?" I said yes. She then asked me if I was allergic to "penicillin?" I said yes. I asked her for a list of the ingredients in this product, since it is not listed on the tube I purchased. I was told that she could not give me that information but that I could go back to the drug store where I purchased the product because "they" provide that information to the store where the products are shipped, or she said I could send them a written request for the information. I went to my Rite Aid store and they had no such information. They were going to get it for me but then I found a display for the product at Walgreen's. They had a pad of tear off sheets with the ingredients. I notified Rite Aid that I had the information.
I was scared by this reaction and quite appalled by the response from the representative that spoke with me. If the information that she accessed told her to ask me about "penicillin" allergy, then it makes me feel that there must have been some testing done in the trials of this product that indicated that persons with penicillin allergy had a "reaction" to this "lip stain." Why are they not printing this on the product just like peanut allergy warnings?

I waited two weeks and tried each item separately to see if I could narrow down which one caused the reaction. I had no problem with the mascara or eye shadow but when I used the eye liner a 2nd time, the exact same reaction occurred. I do not wear contacts nor was it pink eye. I brought it on Saturday 14th August, and these are photo's from wearing it only 3 times. Photos were taken on Wednesday 18th.
My face as always been smooth and soft. I have never had a breakout. I have attached one photo of what it was like last week - it is a webcam pic. I have never had a breakout like this and am so angry because all I heard was good things about this product and thought it would be good to put it on for more confidence and start going out (as i have social phobia). And since yesterday I haven't even been able to leave the house because of how red, sore and awful it looks (I cant even go to the store to get bread or anything).
What do you put in it anyway? How do yous get so much positive feedback on this product. I am just letting you know I will be looking into what action I can take because of this, even for false advertising due to the fact that you don't list any side effects for certain people. Maybe even try today tonight as I am furious! Also I have two witnesses to back me up and prove I had only worn it 3 time between Saturday and Wednesday including my psychiatrist. And every time I used it, I would wash it off with my Nutrogena face scrub twice, then put a face mask on. (this is my usual routine every night even before using this product). Do You even use this product yourself?

I cannot use the new color #545 and have no idea which color or brand to use now. There isn't another CG number or shade comparable to the old shade 545. So why did CG use the same #? Why did they change the color on this and other products. Thank you. Ex-CG consumer.
