Bought Macbook Pro in 2017 for my wife, she is master degree in computer since, so she use it better than average person like myself, no issues until 2019. It just can not be started, take it to Apple dealer in Riyadh and was still under warranty, and they found motherboard or whatever they call it burst and need to be replaced, and they did, but without explanation why would it be damaged within only 2 years of use, one year later the screen starting showing horizontal lines, take again to the dealer and they say display system need to be replaced and cost is almost the price of a new laptop with better quality than apple, I contacted Apple Care and explained to them but they did not care to investigate or give us justification. I really dont recommend this apple with these prices.

I bought a new MacBook Pro, 3 months ago for just under $3000 dollars. Which may not be a lot of money to some but it is to me, but I spent it because I have been using Apple products for the last 25 years and have loved them. That all changed with this purchase. Out of the box it has not worked properly. Movies and tv shows I purchased from iTunes would get a message that I could not play them on this machine and yes I authorized it. Apps that said were compatible with the new OS would not work. I had to pay someone to put a clean install of the OS just to get it to work sometimes. I got so frustrated with it I put it away and went back to using my old laptop.
Then three weeks ago I realized it was silly to have spent this money and not use, plus my old Mac is on its last legs. I turn it on. It works ok for a couple of days then half the screen goes black. A day later I’m trying to talk to tech support and the whole screen goes black. I’ve spent hours on the phone trying to get help. I didn’t buy Apple Care, and I missed the 30 day return policy. So now they want me to spend more money on this piece of ** I don’t want. I would take part of my money back or a trade in, I have no faith in this machine, and feel as if I’ve wasted my money. My advice would be to rethink this purchase before you to buy a $3000 paperweight.

I bought MacBook Pro from Apple store Delaware in early 2019. After which I did not use it regularly for around 8 months. As soon as started using it battery could not hold up for around 6 months. I called customer care and took it for repair. Found out that my logic board has burst and battery is gone too with repair charges around 598 $. How can Apple say that there is electricity surge in my house after which logic board can burst by itself? If they cannot manufacture accordingly to the electrical power, they have to mention that it can only work in the specific electrical guidelines (if they have figure it out). They are rude and dictatorial and going towards fraudulent ways. So, my total laptop cost Is 2500 $. My mistake is that I wanted a laptop moreover that I wanted MacBook Pro....

I purchased my Macbook Pro A0708 in Dec 2018 as a gift to myself. The main reason I use my laptop is for school work. Being that it’s August 2020 I rarely use my laptop since school is out. Well, last week I open up my laptop to find out my screen is black and not working at all. I have no Apple Care, but I brought it into Apple anyway so that they can fix whatever went wrong with my laptop internally. Repair Cost....$958. My 1 year and 8 month old laptop had temp warnings, logic board failure and screen failure. No one had any explanation for what caused this and Apple refused to waive repair cost. This malfunction should be Apple’s responsibility.
Any company would have tried to help a loyal consumer since it was an internal issue. Instead, I spent 3 hours in total calling customer service trying to get better assistance with my bill. I even got disconnected by a supervisor named Diana as if I used foul language when I I was super calm. “I disconnecting the call, click” was her exact words. Thankfully my husband was right next to me and witnessed the entire thing. We both looked at each other jaws dropped. Apple has the worst customer service by far and I will tell my story until I get the support I should have had.

I ordered a brand new MacBook Pro from Apple.com. In two weeks the computer would not come on. I called support and they set me up with appointment to take it to tech saying it was under warranty. I took it in and the logic board was bad, which is connected to hard drive on these. So I lost the info I didn’t have backed up. It took a week for them to get the new part in and the new part was also bad. Going on day 8 without a computer. The computer was BRAND NEW. I think they should have replaced it totally immediately. They just said the warranty covers replacing parts. Consider long and hard before you buy a MacBook.

I use MacBooks for ease of use with Logic. That is the only value it has. At least once every three years I need to replace my laptop because Apple sees to it that it that there is some sort of “update” to that will eventually brick my Pro. I can afford to buy a new MacBook every few years because I need it to run Logic, so I begrudgingly tolerate. But, of course, Apple has zero regard for their consumer base, so they gleefully provide a garbage product because their laptops are “one of kind in many ways." If you need a laptop for business, school, or work, avoid Apple products at all costs. If you can find a Windows based system that works for whatever application you need, go there and run away from the greedy thugs at Apple.

I have bought Macbook Air around 2.5 year back, considering that Apple is a trusted brand with the highest brand value and it would be a one time investment, as I am not a heavy application user I decided to go with Apple Macbook Air. In this around 2.5 years I have rarely used my macbook and that too used only for browsing and video watching, no other application even installed on it and not even a single game.
Few days back I have upgraded my OS as per the Apple adviser appear on the screen and after the upgrade I used it for few days (around 20 days) and one day I was not able to turn it on, I took my Mac to NGRT Apple authorised service centre (Nagpur). They took it for few days for investigation. In investigation they said there is a logic board issue and need to replace it. No repair possible.
I was extremely surprised how it could be logic board issue even if I haven't used it heavily and asked same question to the executive and he was not able to answer it and said this issue is very common, I can't expect this answer from a brand like Apple because all my trust and brand value thought destroyed with this answer received from apple executive. I Asked executive that, "If this is a very common issue then why can't you take this up under service improvement and advise Apple management." He said it's not their job. Whereas he suggested me to escalate it to Apple directly being a customer.
I asked few more question to the executive but he was not able to answer it, then he said the logic board issue is because of liquid/dust damage. This time I got disturb and reverted him that don't mislead the issue and misguide me, he agreed that he was lying and misleading the issue and Apologise for that. Now still my Mac issue is not resolved and mac is not turning on, not sure what to do as Apple authorised service centre asking me to change logic board which is having a cost of around the same as my mac book. He also advised to check it from an outsider service center.

Apple has for a long time tried to deliver on the idea of products 'that just work'. This is highly evidenced in their computer lineup (obviously, this is not exclusively relevant to their computers). Having worked on both PCs and Macs over many years, I can confidently say that Macs are easier to use. With PCs, you need a certain amount of know-how, especially when things don't work. Even silly things like drivers for printers. Macs sort it out for you, automatically finding the driver online and installing it for you. Easy as pie.

It was a whole new strange type of communication, research, etc.. that replaced, what to me was the tried and true method of doing things. I purchased a new Macbook Pro at the end of 2019. I should have waited. The keyboard offers almost no tactile feedback which makes typing accurately almost impossible. As a writer, this is a big issue. Further the touch bar is way too sensitive. I was always inadvertently brushing it which enable various functions that I did not want activated. Finally, the touch log-in was very unreliable. Apple apparently recognized that the keyboard was a trainwreck and came out with a new model in May of this year, with a scissor mechanism. Nice of them to let consumers know that a new model was in the pipeline only 4 months after me shelling out over $1200 for a model that was brand new for 2019 but soon to be discontinued. They were kind enough to offer me half the value of the unit for a trade in. Does Apple take pride in being the most arrogant unhelpful company around? I purchased my MacBook Pro in January 2019 and have had nothing but problems with the keyboard. As I see from the Apple site, Apple's brilliant idea to replace the keyboard with a "butterfly" type of keyboard totally backfired as there are issues galore with this keyboard. The keys stick and won't work or the letter you have depressed will repeat. What will they do to assist you??? Nothing! It takes 4 business days and yes, this means being without a computer for a minimum of 4 days for them to replace the keyboard! Well, with the virus pandemic out there now, I don't have the luxury of not having my laptop for 4 days. I need it to work cause is Apple going to pay my salary for not being able to work or a minimum of 4 days?? NO, they won't!
I asked if I could upgrade to the newer MacBook Pro which has a scissor board keyboard because the Butterfly keyboard is total crap which Apple has admitted to producing a defective product. They said they won't do that but will do a trade in with my old MacBook Pro which means the trade in value is far below what I paid. So not only does Apple produce a ** product but they don't accept any responsibility. I am offering to pay extra for the newer MacBook but instead they will give me a fraction of the value so I can pay more. Something that was their fault to start with. What kind of ** company and bad customer service is bred in this company. Do you only hire people who won't accept responsibility. And, customer service is so professional that they hung up on me. Now that is great service! Do yourself a favour and don't buy any Apple products because they are money gougers who think of nothing but taking your money and offering nothing in return.

Only been a year and it's starting to act up and freeze. First, I baby the crap out of my laptop because it was around $4,000.The computer is still in mint condition and I don't save anything on my internal SSD, just my external ones. The laptop has never been dropped or anything. Never gamed on it either (Who would?). The first year went okay for me, it worked but it wasn't the fastest which is expected. I got a MacBook because of the OS not performance. A year and a bit later the Catalina update came out and that's when everything changed. For a living I use photoshop, illustrator and InDesign. Thats all I use this laptop for really.
After getting the update my programs started acting up. Photoshop wouldn't save and then my filed would break and I would have to do all my work again. Illustrator wouldn't open sometimes and same with InDesign. so, I waited for Adobes updates to come out, and they did. Nothing changed. For some reason this is only happening to me and all my other co workers and friends are having a good time with it. So weeks of getting "help" from Apple customer service and this issue is still occurring. They keep making me do the same thing over and over and nothing changes. All the tests tell me my computer is working the way it should.
They pretend to care for you but they really don't. One of the guys told me that if I didn't have apple care that I would have to go into an apple store and get it fixed with my money... MY money. This computer is in mint condition (reminder). This laptop I've been sold is a broken product. Thank god I have AppleCare. Now weeks of this happening and multiple files getting destroyed i'm still doing the same tests with their support. I've been late on multiple projects, which my pay had to get delayed for because I was late. Just the other night I was working on a project for 3 hours and I saved throughout working on it.
Right before I closed my computer I did one last save... and it froze and destroyed my file. Then I spent another three hours on apple support doing the same old tests and answering the same questions. They still have no Idea what's wrong with this laptop and I can't do my work. I literally get scared to do anything on it because I fear that I might lose it all. Apple is pretty much refusing to believe that this product is broken and try to make a bunch of excuses to why these laptops cost so much.
I work in a marketing agency and we loved using apple because they were reliable but now we will be shifting to windows. Apple has shown that they don't care. They don't care if their customers are loyal. They don't care if you spend your 4,000 on these laptops. Be careful people. I went in blind because the laptops are pretty and I thought it was reliable because my old 2012 MacBook was a beast. It's not the same build quality. It really isn't. Take Care.

My 2017 MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2 thunderbolt 3 ports) is experiencing a similar problem as the 2016 model that was recalled, where the back light fails as a result of cable failure. As a result of this manufacturer defect, the laptop is unusable because the screen is so dim that nothing can be seen. This issue was confirmed by Apple Support after an appointment at the Apple Store. I also contacted Apple Support multiple times and because the laptop is over a year (but less than 2 years), they denied my request to repair it without charge.
They want me to pay over $450 for the machine to be repaired, as a result of their manufacturing defect. This is almost one third the cost of the laptop. I am very dissatisfied with the response by Apple Support and with the quality of this "top-of-the line" laptop. In addition to this issue, I have also recently learned that the keyboard for my model has been recalled. I have never had to deal with a virus in my system, ever. And they have seemed simple to operate for word processing, and later some web design which is what I have mainly used them for.
However, I think I will switch to a Linux system next time I buy. I am disgusted that the new laptop has pop up screens insisting that I buy something within the Mac system (even when I am word processing, or doing something unrelated to the internet--these are not internet based pop up screens) every time I turn my laptop on. Sometimes the pop up screens disallow me to continue word-processing without going to their site. I am very scared that Apple released such a faulty computers for sale and therefore putting their customers at risk. It has never happened to me with any other laptop and I was really hoping that by providing prompt repair and apology Apple would restore my trust in their brand, but exactly opposite happened.
I have received a phone call telling me that I would have to pay for the repair £459. I was shocked as I was promised during the initial assessment that this case will be raised as a safety issue and that the repair will be done free of charge. I am very disappointed that Apple thinks that it is ok that my family was put in danger of fire and that I should be now happy to pay for this repair after such a stressful event at home. I cannot image what could have happened if I were away from my MacBook when the fire started, it could even cost life of one of my children or even worse all of us if this would happen at night.
Despite all this nightmare Apple refused to take responsibility for the faulty MacBook and did not apologise and bluntly refused to repair their faulty unsafe product free of charge as promised during my initial assessment appointment. I used to love Apple products and have been an avid buyer for the last decade (multiple iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, beats and an Apple TV). My most recent experience has made me never want to purchase another product. I purchased a MacBook Pro in 2012, which wasn’t cheap, but when spending $2100 on a computer you would expect it to be quality. Boy was I wrong. The laptop all of the sudden would go to a gray screen when turned on and wouldn’t load from there. I looked up the issue online and found that this is a common issue with the 2011/2012 model of the MacBook, and Apple actually faced a class action lawsuit in 2014 over the defect, in which they offered out of warranty replacements from 2015-2016.
When I brought it to the Apple store they ran a diagnostic test and confirmed that it was the defective video card. The Apple Genius informed me that the company considers my laptop obsolete and they no longer make the part so there are no options for repair. He immediately recommended that I just purchase a new laptop. Why would I ever want to buy another MacBook from a company that considers the device obsolete after 5-7 years and won’t even fix it if you pay the out of warranty repair price. All buyers beware. Any Apple product you own will be considered obsolete 5-7 years after release and will not offer any repair options after that point. There used to be a time where they would repair any model of any product but those days are long gone.

I tried my best to explain it that it stopped working since it fell down and it can't be due to water, but they didn't bother to look that aspect of the issue. They were even asking for a ridiculous amount to extract data. We decided not to get it fixed. So far it was working fine with an external monitor.
Today, my friend came in and then we opened up the back of the Macbook and disconnected and reconnected the battery and internal display started working without any issue. Absolutely TERRIBLE experience with this company! Horrible quality, service and price! I used to truly enjoy Apple products in the past until we purchased the newest MacBook Pro at the end of 2016. Unfortunately, we did not purchase the overpriced warranty as we expected this $2000 laptop to work properly as promised by Apple and what other regular laptop brands would do. At the beginning, I recognized a sticky 3 keys but did not deem it an issue worthy of spending hundreds on repair. A little after a year in, there was a severe issue with the logic board or motherboard. As a result, whenever the top part of the laptop was moved, the laptop would shut down. When we brought it to a technician, he estimated that it would cost over a thousand to repair it. Within 15 months, a $2000 laptop required repairs costing more than half of its original price! Can you believe this!!
Thus, we took it elsewhere to get it repaired. Unfortunately, this still cost around $600. Fortunately, it began functioning as it should once again. However, it was brought to our attention that there was an issue with the battery as well. I noticed that the laptop dies at 30-50%, and getting worse and worse. Additionally, the 3 key continued to be sticky and frequently didn’t work as expected. After researching these issues, I realized that Apple has received many complaints about the battery, logic board and the keyboard on this model. (Since the website doesn't allow any links, you can do your searching for Apple battery, keyboard and logic board).
I also learnt of the battery and keyboard replacement program. After checking my serial number, I realized I was eligible for it. Unfortunately, after taking it in stores and dealing with a few rude employees (Paul from Yorkdale and another unnamed individual), they told us that they could not repair it as it was taken elsewhere and gave us a few terrible excuses such as how a few screws were loose and there was some “liquid damage” which I later learnt was to be expected from regular use although it was covered by protection! They then stated they would not be able to guarantee a 100% successful repair as a result, so they can’t replace the malfunction battery – what kind of logic is this! And it wasted nearly a week of my time.
As a student who needs a laptop to do work, it is difficult for me to spend large amounts of time away from my laptop which means March break was the only time I could have and they completely wasted this time. As a result, it would also be difficult for me to bring it anywhere else as I need it for school. Back to the point, this “guarantee” is complete nonsense. Apple was SUPPOSED to guarantee that my laptop would work. Unfortunately, it does not. So all of these guarantees that you are speaking of are absolute crap as this laptop is CLEARLY malfunctioning in the first time. Needless to say I was incredibly disappointed with this experience and do not believe I will continue purchasing from Apple!

Online, I bought direct from Apple, a MacBook Pro for a smidgeon under 4000 euros. This was 5 weeks ago, just before Christmas, 2018/19. It arrived but, by phone, no Apple consultant was able to enable it to function. It was deemed “broken”. There followed numerous phone calls by me. Always I was referred to someone else. And nothing productive was achieved. Finally, I managed to get Apple to agree to a replacement.
The replacement arrived WITH THE WRONG KEYBOARD. I have asked for a refund. Again, I am being pushed from pillar to post. No one wants to take responsibility for anything. All consultants chant the same mantra, “It’s not part of my responsibility. Phone such and such...” On one such phone call, a woman speaking perfect English said she was not permitted to assist me technically because she was in the Italian dept. And, technical assistance was only permitted in the language of the customer who was phoning. She had been referred to me by a senior consultant.
Now, 6 weeks later, there has been no resolution. And I am left with yet another phone call to make. The whole of Apple customer service is a complete shambles and a disgrace. If this next phone call does not result in an agreement to a refund, I will have no option except to sue Apple for breach of care and negligence. My problem is there are changes made without much notice and without giving clear directions for the change in use. After getting used to doing something a certain way it's not easy to learn how to do it a different way.

I have had a MacBook Pro for over 8 years now. It has held up beautifully. I have friends who purchased less expensive laptops and have now been through several in this time. It is worth the extra expense upfront to have a quality product.

The Macbook is very user friendly and has great programs and built ins. There are some glitches but on the whole I think they are great... Interfaces are easy and the camera and Photoshop stuff is good... just not great at getting support from people.

I ordered a brand new MacBook Air 2017 Model dated 21-01-2018 from paytmmall.com website. It has become a pain for me and I feel the entire amount wasted. Since the day I have received it, I am facing continuous issues like slow processing, corrupted Operating System and now facing pixel issues. The videos and photos are blurry as compared to other MacBook Air laptop.
Customer Care dept has acknowledged the issue and again asking to get the service done. Device is one week old and so many services and call assistances have been done. My question is, how many times should I take the brand new device to service centre and wait to get it repaired post which the product will become ready for use? Website can replace the product but Apple is not supporting.

I was assured that this computer wouldn't need to be plugged in for at least 3-4 days. However, it needs to be plugged in part way during the afternoon, or it'll close down. Also, the cord that plugs into the computer is nothing but a very weak magnet, and it falls out easily and quickly. It's a very annoying feature.

I've had Apple products since 1984 without problems. I always get AppleCare but in all that time only needed to use it once for an actual device problem. I have, however, used them for technical support - had trouble with a Microsoft product installed on the Mac. They worked me through that issue and gave me pointers on a lot of other products I have. I can't say enough good about the ease of use, durability, and the technical support I get from Apple.

I purchased an Apple MacBook Pro 13" screen for my wife a couple months ago. Flawless performance so far. High quality construction, component and the display is pinpoint clear. One of the best things about Apple is the Genius Bar at their stores. Make an appointment or walk in and they will help you at no charge unless you need a repair. Most of the problems involve cleaning things out or a fix you just don't know about. I would never go back to a PC even though they cost less. The Genius Bar is worth the extra money for the Mac.
