We had been using QuickBooks to do our entire client billing for more than 10 years and we're increasingly getting asked by our clients for additional copies of their invoices and the ability to pay online. Upon learning about BillingOrchard, we were skeptical about how it would be easier for our clients and us as a company to use. Now after using BillingOrchard for awhile, I have noticed that it is simpler than invoicing through QuickBooks and we have a greater ability to let our administrators do their own billing. This has reduced the amount of work for the bookkeeper to keep up with the billing, receiving and reconciling payments from various sources.

We have also noticed that our clients have taken to the system with ease and have seen a great increase in our invoices getting paid faster since they have a quick option to go online and pay right away. One of the best features we have found is utilizing the email notification on past due invoices. This has saved us a great amount of time of having to follow up with clients that are past due as BillingOrchard will automatically send out reminders. Not only does it send out a reminder, but it also continues to send reminders (at whatever interval you desire) until the invoice is paid.

BillingOrchard was developed with small to medium sized businesses in mind, and was overhauled early in 2013 with a new design that's easier to navigate. There’s a free 15-day trial with two subscription levels $19.95 per month includes all features and 4,999 transactions, and $69.95 for over 5,000 transactions.

  • Client portal: Customers can log on to update their credit card and banking information, and view their payments and past and current invoices.
  • e-Commerce: If you take orders or do other business online, the eCommerce support is a must-have.
  • e-Check: Support for payments via e-Check as well as credit cards.
  • Mobile: Mobile apps are not available at this time.
  • Domestic only: No multiple currency support.
  • Best for Self-employed, independent contractors and agencies.
