I paid off my car lease on 2/8/25 and Volkswagen cashed my check on that day and then they have an outside person that handles the title paperwork. This new vendor finally got the paperwork on 2/28/25. I have called Volkswagen numerous times asking when I will have the title since they have my money and I have nothing. They first said I would have the title by 3/5/25 or 3//6/25 so those days went and gone with no title. So after calling again on 3/5/25 they said, "Here is the FedEx two day tracking number," and expected to have the title after many delays on 3/7/25. I checked the FedEx tracking number each day on 3/5, 3/6, and again on 3/7 and each day FedEx said they were waiting for the package. I asked FedEx when I would have the package and they said to call Volkswagen.

I called Volkswagen and I said when is FedEx going to have the package so they can ship the title to me. They said he didn't know since they don't handle that part. I said, "Can you call them and ask them when they will give the package to FedEx." He said they can't call out and for me to not get upset over a few days yet he doesn't know when FedEx will get the package. I find that to be horrible service and they don't care since they have my money and I have a car without a title that is worthless without the title. I think they don't want you to pay off a lease and want you to buy another Volkswagen but I didn't want to since they have such a low resale value after the lease since their cars are not selling well.

My wife really loved this car, minus some of the dash alert quirks and loud turn signal noise. Great gas mileage. However, we experienced a blown head gasket which required the car to be towed. Well within the 36 months but over 36k mileage by 154 miles. VW road side assistance wouldn’t consider reimbursing any of the $250 tow fee. Thankfully VW service covered the repair and rather quickly to their credit. BUT, it doesn’t say much for overall quality and reliability when this type of repair is needed at such low mileage. Beware of this experience, we will not be considering a VW vehicle ever again.

Bought a 2023 Atlas Cross Sport. Had problems from day one, took to shop. They could not fix it. Filed buyback suit twice. They kept dragging me along. Kept denying buyback. Car almost got me killed a bunch of times. Worst car company I have ever dealt with. Had to trade it off. And of course I am the loser of it all. Lost a lot of money!

I have never owned a car with more recalls and just general problems. Worst experience I have had in 30 years of driving. They make the most simple things super expensive. If I could go back in time I would punch the man who created Volkswagen right in the mouth

The decline of Volkswagen is a real shame. They used to make a reliable car that would last a number of years and over 100,000 miles. Now they unapologetically make pieces of crap and offer zero customer service. Do Not Buy! You'd be better off with a Fiat.

Dealership is great - car is great but talking to Volkswagen Canada was soul destroying. Had questions regarding my extended warranty and was passed around then disconnected. Finally got a person who spoke to me like I was a small child and got quite snippy. No answer to question. Forty years of driving VW’s and this. Would buy VW again but they need work on their people.

Very poor customer service. Purchased vehicle in June, 2024. Part of the purchase agreement was a trailer hitch with a wiring harness. VW does not have a compatible wiring harness for my particular build date. 8 months later still not resolved, VW Customer Care (an oxymoron) does nothing but offer shallow apologies, with no suggestions for resolving the issue. Shame on you VW.

I'm a loyal VW owner. I've been driving VW for over 10 years now. I've owned BMW, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Chrysler, and Chevy. I enjoy the driving experience, dependability, simple dashboard, and sleek design. VW service in Myrtle Beach for maintenance is always a great experience compared to other dealers. I don't care for spending my time at the dealership but can't avoid car maintenance. VW strives for good customer experience by all staff and it shows. It makes me happy that VW is now unionized. I will be a long term VW customer. I stand behind this company.

Hi, Just sharing my experience with a recent clutch slave cylinder failure I had with my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2.0L engine w manual transmission. Vehicle was purchased from a Canadian Volkswagen dealership in 2019. Symptoms: Clutch pedal stuck in depressed position, vehicle unable to shift gears, hydraulic fluid leaking under hood/transmission case. My vehicle was at 70,000km at the time of the failure, and powertrain warranty just 3 days short of expiration by sheer luck. Brought the vehicle to a local dealership and they expressed that the vehicle would not be covered under the powertrain warranty.

The Owner Warranty and Maintenance Manual and Volkswagen's internal "Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual" (VWC 2023), both explicitly state that powertrain warranty will cover failure of the following parts/components; transmission, transmission case, and “all internal parts” of the transmission and/or transmission case, as well as “all related seals and gaskets” of the mentioned components. The warranty covers said failure of parts due to poor material/workmanship. Since the clutch slave cylinder and leaking hydraulic line are within the transmission case, the verbiage found within both manuals, convey an identical message; the repairs should in fact eligible for coverage as a 5 year powertrain warranty item.

Definition of “internal” (Black’s Law Dictionary): “Belating to the Interior j comprised within boundary lines; of interior concern or interest; domestic, as opposed to foreign.” Definition of “internal” (Merriam-Webster): "Existing or situated within the limits or surface of something.” To go a step further, a publication on Law Insider defines “internal parts” as such; “a subset of products that are parts and components inside a [system] and which are not visible to the user during normal operation of that [system]. For the avoidance of doubt, “normal operation” for purposes of this definition does not include inspection, calibration, maintenance, and service, or any other activity which would involve the removal or opening of a fastener or panel to gain access to the interior of the [system].”

The publication even makes use of warranty language detailing a transmission case’s internal parts, as an example to convey the definition of internal parts. Please see below: Internal parts of a transmission example: “Transmission: Transmission Case and all Internal Parts; Torque Converter; Drive/Flex Plate; Transmission Range Switch; Speed Sensors; Pressure Sensors; Transmission Control Module; Bell Housing; Oil Pan; Seals and Gaskets for listed components only.”

This is quite an expensive repair due to the internalized clutch components, and I am looking at $5000 CAD worth of repairs to replace the clutch slave cylinder/release bearing, clutch kit (due to contamination from the leak), to reassemble transmission, and bleed/refill the hydraulic lines. This is not including replacement of the contaminated flywheel. (The dealer's technician said that the flywheel was "okay".) It is to my understanding that the slave cylinder is not a wear/tear item, and the line leakage is likely due to the poor plastic material of the slave cylinder. Either way, I would absolutely classify this as a relevant seal/gasket since the failure was likely an internal seal which caused a leak in the sealed hydraulic line.

I have spoken with the dealer and manufacturer on multiple occasions and they continuously have told me their "hands are tied" and the manufacturer tells me that if the dealership will not honor the repair under warranty, then it there is nothing that can be done. They have been quite literally useless in assisting me, and the dealership has lied to me multiple times, even stating that even if the failure was determined to be a warranty item, that the 5 year warranty term would only be honored up to the date that the repair is performed, and not the date that the vehicle was initially brought into the dealership.

We bought a brand new 2024 VW Atlas. I'm 1,600 Km into ownership of this car and it's now in for the 3rd time for warranty issues. That's right. I have now have been to the shop more times than the gas station. The latest, it's got an oil leak. Can you believe that. Both the dealership and VW customer care seem useless. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your next car.
