We bought a 2024 KIA Sportage PHEV. My wife drives it approximately 18-20 miles each way to work every day. We charge it every evening and seldom use the gasoline engine. This is the perfect vehicle for someone that works within 20-30 miles from home and it still gets over 30 mph on road trips. Right now, it shows that it gets 320 mph because she seldom uses the gasoline engine. I highly recommend.

I’m sharing my experience with a 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid that showed a P0420 code (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold) at just 78,000 miles. I immediately visited the dealership, but the check engine light had turned off during inspection. I was told to return when it came back. By the time it did, the mileage had reached 89,000—and Kia refused to cover the $6,235.12 repair, citing the 80,000-mile warranty limit.

The vehicle is registered under my wife’s name, but I’m the one who drives it daily, handles all service visits, and submitted the complaint myself. Kia’s response was simply that the warranty had expired, with no goodwill adjustment or technical review—even though the issue was first reported before the warranty limit. This is extremely disappointing. Catalytic converters in Toyota and Hyundai hybrids typically last well beyond 150,000 miles. Kia’s refusal to acknowledge this premature failure feels unfair and dismissive. If anyone else has faced similar issues, please share your experience. I’m currently escalating the matter to the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General.

I've been driving Kia since 2012, different models but it is going in manufacturing it my Sportage 2023 suddenly I've noticed that there a 2 cut in driver side cushion and door seal which is in picture which is attached to the review. I've collected the dealer and the manufacturer told me we can't do nothing about.

Don't make a bad decision and even think about purchasing a Kia. I have 2 of them. One is a 2014 Cadenza, which, knock on wood has been awesome for me to own and drive. No issues. The second one is a 2014 Sportage SX. Problems all of the time. In 2019 we were without the car for 4 months. Engine issue that was never recalled, but after during this time we were told that a new engine was coming, and then not. Installed a fix and gave us a complete warranty that encompassed full maintenance on the vehicle and fixes for all engine and drivetrain issues for the life of the vehicle that would extend to us and any new owners. Simple and easy. Since then the engine needed to be replaced in 2024 and differential in 2025 at no cost to us. Had many sensors that needed to be replaced over this period of time, which I have forgotten about, but numerous. No charge.

Yesterday, we learned that a PCM, A power-train control module, abbreviated PCM, is an automotive component, a control unit, used on motor vehicles. It is generally a combined controller consisting of the engine control unit (ECU) and the transmission control unit (TCU). The PCM is one of potentially several on-board computers, or essentially the "brain" of the engine control system, has gone bad, which results in no power from the turbo charger for the engine. It is intermittent but happens often. Cost $1500 plus tax. Kia will not honor their written agreement with us and I am in the process of starting another time consuming fight with corporate Kia to honor their commitment.

I have a 2023 Kia Sportage. The Apple CarPlay intermittently stops working. This has been happening for almost a year. I've take the car to two different Kia dealerships and they both say it can't be fixed. This is unbelievable.

New 2024 Sportage now has 8k miles. Dealership: Pricing was shady, tried to overcharge for numerous things. Added on these "packages" that give you nothing but cost $5000. Typical slimy used car salesman type stuff. Stick to your guns, don't pay for what you don't want. Walk out if they don't respond like a normal human being. Car itself, tons of issues but all "minor" and they can't replicate them so according to them "that's just how Kias work". Ok, if that's the case then never buying one again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else buy one either

      - Between 30-40 MPH the car acts like a horse and buggy. Shifting is crap, revs high, stutters, etc.
      - Car will seem to cut out power randomly when turning and takes seconds to kick in. And when I say seconds, I mean it. In a car taking a turn that's a LONG TIME waiting for it to go.
      - Car will randomly try and pull me off the side of the road if I use the driving assist.
      - Trunk will randomly close on your head after you open it and then go into get something.
      - Wireless charger doesn't work 75% of the time.
      - Paint job didn't even last a year, even with regular (every 2-3 weeks) car washes, numerous marks like the paint itself is wearing off. Scratches super easy.

      - Rattling already coming from numerous places in the car.

Simply put. Don't buy a Kia.

Bought brand new Kia Sportage 2021. Last year paint started peeling all over the car. Looks horrible. Kia will not fix it..... The car only has 17,000 miles on it now.

It is an embarrassment..... Why won't Kia stand behind their cars and make this right? Guess if your car is over 3 years old, Kia is done with you!!!

Kia does not stand behind their cars or their warranty. Purchased 2019 Sportage new. Engine failed while still under warranty. Car well maintained. Charging me $6800 to replace engine or $3000 to buy the car.

I'm so sad. I love my 2014 Kia Sportage but there is a class action lawsuit out. My car still doesn't have the theft software that's supposed to be in it. I've had so many problems out of it. Progressive insurance dropped me because they said it was a high risk car with theft. What to do? I don't know what to do.

Kia doesn't reimburse for car rentals when repairing issues covered by warranty. They say they might reimburse, but it has been over 75 days since I submitted my invoices for over $500 in car rental expenses. I had to take the car in due to an engine malfunction. The Sportage had less than 8,000 miles on it and I'm leasing it. The dealer charged me $375 to do the diagnosis, then reversed that charge after they realized it's an engine failure. Also the window on the passenger side wouldn't roll down. I called today, Oct 15, and was told it will likely be another 60 days before they reimburse my rental expense.
