Stay away from GMC. I bought new 2025 GMC 3500 Denali ultimate in Oct of 2025 and my transmission just went. I have 8,000 kms on it. I was told that they had addressed the valve body issues in the 2024 & 2025 models but obviously that was not true. I can’t believe that the brand that I have always loved has become the worst make of truck. I am just trying to do the right thing here and stop anyone else from buying any gmc models. They have gone a decade with having transmission issues and are still not fixing them. My old 2011 GMC Duramax with the genuine Allison transmission is still working great at 300,000kms. These new ten speed (not Allison) transmissions are junk and I can’t believe GMC would ever give up the Allison transmission.

I traded in my 2018 GMC Sierra, for a 2026 Sierra. The vehicle had less 94 miles on it at the time of purchase, not even two weeks later the backup camera failed. I was told the part needed to be replaced, it was in stock and they were able to get it (this happened on a Monday). The problem being I live remotely on an island with no GM dealership. I had a ferry ticket to go back home, Friday the same week my camera failed but was told that the part would arrive in two days. The part did not arrive until Friday, I missed my ferry. I have to spend money on a hotel and food for a week to wait for the next ferry. I will be missing work for the week and will lose out on pay. Another expense, pay for gas for the week unless I park and just walk everywhere for a week.

I am very disappointed and regret my purchase already. I understand that parts fail, but this was a brand new vehicle. I also understand that I live remotely and it wouldn’t be a problem for most people. But I was told that since the vehicle was “operable” that GM most likely help out. If I was to go home without getting the camera fixed, I would have to turn around as soon as I got home and put my truck on the barge ($3,000) to Washington. I would then be out of a truck and $6,000. I don’t know if someone would pick it up or I would have to fly down and drive it to the dealership and get a hotel until it was complete. This is very frustrating as I purchased a 2026 vehicle, expecting to not have any issues for a long time.

I bought a used beautiful 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation with 21K miles about 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the transmission kick in engine cold temperature, look it up and yes, they have a sensor temperature problem. Now I have lifters and camshaft at 58K miles. A problem that AFM system causes, just for GM parts $2,500 plus labor, I don't think I will ever own a GMC again, already have too many major problems.

Bought a brand new 2024 3500 Denali, the truck has been breaking down every 3 months since. The most recent breakdowns were in Texas and Colorado. Truck broke down in the Dallas area, transmission completely failed, could not get to Vegas with my haul. Went to 5 dealerships in the area, some were closed on Saturday, some were open with one guy behind the service desk doing nothing. I was told that no technicians were on site and that they will re open only Tuesday. No dealership was able to provide me a courtesy vehicle as well. I still haven got any refund and compensation for that major break down (travel expenses, heavy truck rentals…).

I picked up the truck in Texas, the very next day the transmission was acting out again but I was able to make it to Las Vegas. Stopped by my dealership regarding the issue, was told that the truck needed to be driven for a month so the transmission could synchronized with some modules and sensors. After a month I went to Colorado, transmission failed again and the top of it, there is a also a big leak underneath the engine, the master cylinder leaks as well… The truck is just falling apart. Took the truck to the nearest dealership in Denver, was told they will look at it in 7 days…. Then a few days later got a phone call from them to tell me that they won’t look at the truck for weekS… Unbelievable!

I called the GMC customer service and got the truck towed to another dealership that was supposed to look at the truck on Monday…. Then same BS, got a phone call about three weeks ago to letting me know that they will only look at the truck on the 8th…. Haven’t heard from the dealer since so I called today to check in on the repairs…. The Dealership can’t find my truck!!! They never had it! The truck is nowhere to be found, called multiple dealerships, GMC towing assistance, GMC customer service… Nobody has answers and they just don’t care.

I am still trying to get compensation for the breakdown in Texas, trying to get compensation for the breakdown in Colorado, trying to get my truck repurchased and now trying to locate my truck… It’s just been a nightmare. My case manager Allie is incompetent, she sounds like she is 12 and just apologized on the phone in repeat mode, I think she is AI! GMC is supposed to be the top of the top…. Well it’s not! It’s time to lawyer up.

GM EV Concierge Ignored Me After Major Battery Failure – Worst Customer Service I’ve Ever Experienced. Post: I’ve been a loyal GM customer for 20+ years. The way I’ve been treated over the past 2 months has destroyed any trust I had left in this brand. My 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali suffered a total battery failure at just 3,995 miles. I opened case #** on 5/27/25. Since then, I’ve been lied to, ignored, and strung along by the EV Concierge team.

Reps promised supervisor callbacks—none came. I sent in all required documents—no response. My vehicle was returned, but I’ve received no reimbursement and no accountability from GM. This is hands-down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. If you’re considering GM for your next EV, you should think twice. The product failed, and the company failed even harder.

I have a '21 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali Carbon Pro edition with the baby diesel.. About two months ago my factory 22-in wheel broke in half driving down the road 70 miles an hour, let’s not focus on how dangerous and deadly that could’ve been, I’ve had seven mechanics. Tell me this wheel should be on a recall list that they have never ever in their careers have seen a wheel break the way my wheel has broke. Eight weeks we have been fighting with GM to stand behind their product and all we are getting out of them is that is normal wear and tear.. Ummm excuse me. I’d like to know how I will break it in half is normal. Wear and tear on a four-year-old pick up. All GM is doing is running their name into the ground.

I was a die hard GMC customer 4 weeks ago! Now, I will never purchase another General Motors product in my life!!!! Recently, I discovered that General Motors won’t even back their own products, so how can I have any faith in them??? As a life long supporter of General Motors, I STRONGLY ADVISE you to buy anything other than a General Motors product!! I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 with a 3.0 Duramax. I have had problems since the first month I bought the truck! They started out small, sensors and emissions, but recently, turned into a $13,300 engine replacement! Truck is only 3 yrs and 11 months old and needs a full diesel engine replacement??

Maintenance has been flawlessly maintained, ALL service work has been at a GMC certified dealership. Truck is at 104,400 miles. Engine started failing at about 96k miles (probably sooner) but General Motors has worse customer service than a ** cell phone company and won’t stand behind their products no matter what! This GMC vehicle has set my family so far back financially that it will take us years to recover! The General Motors Company could care less! They don’t believe in their own products, so why should we? I can’t support a company that doesn’t have the decency to support their own products! Shame on you General Motors!!!!

I bought a brand new Sierra AT4 at 11 am Saturday. Drove it off the lot with 4 miles on the odometer. Drove it home approximately 5 miles and parked it in the driveway. Changed my clothes to go to the gym and when I went out to start the truck it wouldn’t start. It would crank and crank but never start. Tried it about 8 times and then gave up. I pushed the OnStar button and arranged for a tow back to the dealer. Needless to say I canceled my financing and took back my trusty F150 that I traded in. I will never again leave Ford for a subpar vehicle like the GMC.

I have owned 7 GMC trucks, my last one is a Denali and although mechanically it's good, most of the trim and luxury items are cheap and cheaply made. Center console handle cut my fingers when the metal plating used started peeling off. Gas intake hose was missing a screw and GM said I needed to replace the whole intake system - that took 2 years to finally get repaired.

Clear coat started pealing just as the warranty was expiring and GMC said too bad. Fortunately my dealership stepped up to take care of it at cost. Since then more clear coat started pealing from the body of the truck requiring a full paint job. Visor clip hasn't worked since the truck was new and I have gotten tired with all the excuses on what was required to fix it. Leather on the steering wheel is peeling off (guess it wasn't real leather). And the list goes on - Bottom line is that after being a GMC customer for over 25 years, I will never purchase another vehicle from them ever again.

I have a GMC Sierra 1500 2022 that has 18,000 miles on it and is meticulously kept. One month ago I left my house and it died in the middle of the road about 200 feet from my home. They towed it to our local GMC dealer and it has been there for one month waiting on a fuel pump. They are apparently on backorder because of the massive problem with fuel pumps. One month is a long time to be without a vehicle. My mother also recently purchased a used GMC Arcadia with 8000 miles on it and it died the day after she got it and it was the fuel pump. As soon as I get my truck back from the dealer, I will be looking for another vehicle and I will never buy a GMC again. We have not received a phone call, not an update, not an apology, as a matter fact the woman at our local dealership was rude to my husband when he asked why it was taking so long. Terrible reliability, terrible customer service. GMC never again.
