So wanted to shop around, test drive and get $$ numbers for the new Prius 3 and Camry LE Hybrid. We were lucky that we got to try the cars with possibly the nicest sale agent around, ALI. He was an absolute gentleman who was straightforward with us from the get-go and we thought we might give him some business soon enough for his genuine behavior towards us. I should add that the guy had a terrible headache which you could see on his face and yet not for a second was he not attentive. Then came in his manager, AJ **. A complete uncivilized **, who does exactly what you think sleazy salesmen do, treat you like you eat **. From the beginning we knew he was a jerk when he kept going over questions to which he already had answers to. He never introduced himself nor asked our names. He came in like a savior and acted like we were begging for him to allow us to buy a car though actually he is just a nobody who has no negotiating power.
He had to go multiple times to ask his boss as the numbers he kept bringing were pure garbage. This was what he told me when I asked him if Toyota has any loyalty programs for returning customers, "No, Toyota doesn't need loyalty programs as people will buy our cars anyways, there is always a waiting for our cars." He was trying to push a base Camry Hybrid to us for $37K ($32K after $5K trade in for our 2012 car). When I said that number is too high, he offered a great discount to round it down to $35K. When I asked him if that's their final number, he said "Yes, but only for today. Tomorrow it might change." I told him that was obvious, but can he go down further to which he replied, "we can give you better discounts when you are serious about buying." Lol! At least he was not serious about selling.
This guy single-handedly made sure we don't buy a car from here and make sure we inform our friends to avoid this place. Seriously, there is another Toyota dealership 5 min away from here on 880 South. To show how classy he is, when he realized he could not make a deal with us, he abruptly walked away. Best of luck to those who expect to be respected at this dealership.
I've provided all the documents required to claim the money that I have paid for 100% Money Back Guarantee Vehicle Service Agreement. I'm being told by the person who has forwarded my documents to the claims department that it will take anywhere from 3 to 6 months. This is totally unprofessional and borders cheating. I was asked to email the documents to an email address called "email@example.com". Emails sent to that address is bouncing as their inbox is full! Very unprofessional and uncouth of Fremont Toyota.
I bought a Toyota Camry on May 30th. All was nice but by June 10th I got a letter that saying that the contract was rescind by Fremont Toyota and the car needed to be return immediately otherwise they will charge attorney fees and any expenses related. At that point I complete accepted the decision to rescind the contract once they decided to do it NOT ME! When I called them to make arrangements they said that I cannot return the car because all customers receive that letter by default. At that point I feel offended because I know my credit score. I told them that I will return the car because is not right to treat customer and with a simple SORRY resolve all.
I do not recommend Fremont Toyota to any one at all. At this point I just waiting to get a communication from TMCC. To send a letter with the copy of the certified letter I got from Fremont Toyota to let TMCC that the contract was RESCIND by Fremont Toyota and I just accepted. I have not completed the survey yet but if they not respond to me by June 16th I will complete it. They not going to like what how I will respond.
I took the car in for a broken lift handle on the back door. Just missed the extended warranty period. When they gave the car back the abs, vsc and brake lights were on. They were not when I took it in. I talked to the Service (lack of Service) manager. Basically told me it was not Toyota's problem and there was nothing they were going to do for me. I went online, changed the gas cap and battery. Then I contacted Toyota and the Service (lack of) Manager of Fremont Toyota called me back and that they would do diagnostics to see where the problem was. Now they want $2200 for a brake actuator for a car that runs great. My next option is to contact Toyota again and consider legal options. Through it all, the car runs great.
I have reported Fremont Toyota's deceptive selling of certified car (VIN 4T1CE30P55U513303) more than a month ago. What's the status of investigation to them? Fremont Toyota has to take back this car. Please update me the investigation status on Fremont Toyota ASAP. Below is the case brief:
I purchased a certified used Toyota car (Vehicle VIN: 4T1CE30P55U513303) on 12/22/2008 from Fremont Toyota dealer (5851 Cushing Parkway Fremont, CA 94538), which leads a nightmare as it's a wrecked certification rejected car with 2 tire valve stems broken on day 1 and day 8 after purchase and another 2 tires flat again later.
A. The rear right tire valve stem broke on 12/23/2008 (the first day after purchase) and the tire pressure monitoring system indicator (TPWS) was on so I drove the car to the service department on 12/24/2008. Dealer claim they fixed all the problems and also checked all the other tires and make sure they are working.
B. On 1/1/2009, the front right tire valve stem broke again and the TPWS was not on. This happened when we drove on Highway 5 at 75 miles/hour and we don't even know the tire already 2/3 was flatting!! We happened to look for restaurant at that time and a person coming out of restaurant pointed to us this flat tire! If we did not exit for rest, all 5 passengers in the car could no longer be in this world now.
C: CD did not work from the first day of purchase
Further discovery on this car reveals:
1. The car has a wreck history. Bondo was applied on the following areas: Left fender on rear behind wheel opening area; Right door from upper center to bottom of door; and, Right quarter panel in front of wheel opening area. The amount of Bondo applied to the subject vehicle, clearly indicates the damage/wreck/repair in these areas were extensive.
2. The shoddy re-paint of the vehicle has diminished the vehicle's value substantially. There is no credible defense that Fremont Toyota did not know this vehicle was repainted. Fremont Toyota did one of two things, they either knew about the defective paint job and hid it, which would explain the runners on the doors (to hide the bad paint job) or Toyota lied and did not complete a 160 point inspection, which is also possible hence they did not even test the CD player. The CD player has never worked, yet it was checked out as okay during the 160 point inspection. Either way Fremont Toyota dropped the ball.
3. Sand scratched and dirt under paint are obvious in many areas, this is the result of a poor quality re-paint job. The re-paint of the vehicle is further evidenced by the paint mil gauge readings from 8mils to 12 mils. This matches Kearny Mesa Toyota's 160 point rejection.
4. The paint job alone estimate (not including the body repair) was over $2200 and yet was this re-paint was not reported. The faulty paint job is a known defect to anyone that looks at the vehicle in the automotive industry.
5. The right fender was previously removed.
6. Over-spray found on many areas -- Again an easy indication that the subject vehicle was repainted in a defective manner.
7. The wheel alignments of vehicle are out of specs.
8. Aftermarket alarm not removed. Toyota states on its website that it inspects and removes all after market items. However, the aftermarket alarm was not removed. It did not do an adequate job inspecting the alarm as the carpet surrounding the alarm failed. The failure of the driver pillar is also caused from an after-market wire that was not properly installed or inspected.
9. Wheel nut on left rear wheel is different size
10. Left upper window strip on door opening is missing clip
11. Sunroof interior liner failing 12. Driver pillar broke, driver bottom seat cover broke on 1/1/2009, CD never worked since the first day of purchase
13. The front lower vehicle support on frame has been damaged prior to repaint
14. TPMS not working on 1/1/2009
15. Miles per gallon indicator does not work
16. Intentional misrepresentation on warranty plan at time of sale
Toyota's recent reputation has been hurt in recent months from its massive recall and other vehicle problems. Now I want the world to know what has happened to me as Fremont Toyota sold me so called "certified car". I believe it is only fair that the world knows that not only is Toyota having problems with their new vehicles, but their 160 point inspections are a joke and cannot be trusted! Fremont Toyota has to take this car back and rewind the contract!

Wheel nut on left rear wheel is different size. Left upper window strip on door opening is missing clip. Sunroof interior liner failing. Intentional misrepresentation on warranty plan at time of sale. I can not drive this car now as left side two tires are flat now with unknown reason. Since this is the third time on tire flatting, from safety point of view it's irresponsible to drive this car any more. There’s dramatic diminished value due to past undisclosed wreck, repaint history and many un-repaired broken items and certification rejection history.
To all of the people that will read this, I hope someone cares enough..
I bought a car. Im the type that NEVER liked to finance cars because of the crooked sales process I knew I was destined to have to sit throughbut I really needed a car for my livelihood.
A buyer, such as myself, will work through a quagmire of people ALL DAY LONG, smiling in your face, wanting to be your best friend, understanding your needs, but are just simple sycophants. The sales person is running back and forth from an ill-equipped desk with no calculators or phones, to a little tinted room where the sales managers sit with big, black marking pens, denying your offers, choking on doughnuts, making personal phone calls, in the midst of working your deal with the sales person.
I thought Id go to a reputable car dealership that sold good cars, because I thought the fly-by-nighters car dealerships were MORE crooked. I was WRONG.
I picked Fremont Toyota on 5851 Cushing Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538 because it was near my house, and I like Toyotas. We are a family that owns Toyotas, however, none of them were ever purchased from Fremont Toyota on Cushing Parkway.
My mother and I strolled onto the lot, knowing what we wanted to spend. We already had the printouts from Kelley Blue Book and Vehix.com, ready to negotiate my next long-term financial commitment.
A 2003 Toyota RAV4 with all the bells and whistles I have on my car has a Kelley Blue Book Value of $22,040. Mother and I believed we can negotiate my car down to $19,000 because of the high mileage of 32,949 miles. My experience buying my RAV4 went like this:Picked out the model I liked, then, was welcomed to Fremont Toyota by Leo Alansalon, the sales person.
Leo Alansalon said the 2003 RAV4 I was interested in was priced at $22,000
Mother and I negotiated $19,000 OTD with $2,000 down payment
He said hed ask the sales mgr and welcomed us into the sales floor
The sales person ran my credit, and SUPPOSEDLY by myself and I couldnt do it @ $19,000 with a $2,000 down payment
Mother then co-signed
Sales mgr wanted more down payment
Mother and I said $4,000 down payment @ $19,000 OTD
The Sales mgr wrote on a piece of paper ok you win
Now, at this point, what does ok you win mean to you? To a single mother, I was ELATED. Okay! I thought to myself. $15,000 isnt a lot, I can handle the payments. Please bear in mind, there was NO final cash price of the vehicle noted on this OK YOU WIN worksheet. They used a BRAND NEW PIECE OF PAPER.an innovatively cunning sales tactic? Covering their asses? I dont know.but it SURE WASNT the original worksheet we were first negotiating on. It wasnt the sheet that Leo Alansalon wrote our VERY FIRM $19,000 OTD with $4,000 down payment. We thought that meant $4,000 down @ $19,000 OTD, so wed be financing $15,000
Exhausted and convinced that the sales manager, Lee Ward, was taking care of us, we signed the papers. Even happy that that Finance manager, Omir, was able to squeeze in a Toyota Extra Care warranty in. We were sure we were taken care of.
Went home, and saw that the cash price was for $25,999 and that is NOT what we agreed upon! WHAT THE..?????
That is $6,999 more than we agreed upon
That is $3,999 more than what the sale person quoted me on the lot!! He checked with the inventory while we were waiting in the parking lot, and that is the price he gave us. Should the customer is always right APPLY here?
We agreed upon $19,000 OTD with a $4,000 down payment leading to a $15,000 balance to finance.
Omir, finance mgr, said hed call me back the next day @ 10:00amno call back
Leo Alansalon said hed call me back the next day by 2:00pmno call back
I called the General Sales Manager, Billy Knowlton many times and he hasnt called me back.
Called Teddy Lee on 9/19 @ 11:30am, she said shed call back in a half hour
a. Sidebar: Got a call back from Teddy Lee @ 12:40pm today. She heard my snippet and will get with Billy Knowlton and see what they can do. I hope CONSUMER RELATIONS can follow through with me and keep Fremont Toyota in good graces with this little consumer.
b. Teddy spoke to everyone and says there will be no changes to my purchase. Thanks to Teddy for calling me back, shes the only person that cared enough to follow through with her word, however, the rest of the staff is culpable for this, and Omir is a liar, as he openly lied to customer relations [Teddy] and said he spoke to me (which he didnt) and said hed call me if there were any changes. Likely storyhow many times has he said that already?
Now Ive had the car for six weeks and no one has cared to call me back.
All my mother was trying to do was help me to get a dependable car for my daughter and me with payments I can manage. At $15,000, I would have managed fine.
Now, Im stuck with a $494.00 payment and stuck with a cash price of $25,999. If Im paying this, they may as well have given me a brand new RAV4 since thats what they were going for at Fremont Toyota, but not a USED 2003!!!
I dont appreciate Fremont Toyotas staff taking advantage of two women, then sandbagging our calls and concerns after they made the sale. Even my mother is a Toyota car owner and she did not have this problem purchasing her Toyota from another dealership. We are both very disheartened and disappointed. We feel ripped off and no one will return our calls. My mother feels even worse because she had every piece of confidence that Toyota would take care of me, like they took care of her.
I am a single mother that works very hard for the little money I make. It took me six months to pick out a car and decide to go forward with purchasing a TOYOTA because my paid off vehicle was nearing the end. I havent had experience in buying a car and delayed in purchasing another car because I believe that car sales people and their finance departments are crooked.my sentiments were proven correct.
I picked Toyota because the company manufactures dependable, economical cars. The staff, however, is not dependable and took full advantage of two women. I dont regret purchasing a Toyota, but I am definitely disappointed at the staff and I feel that we were taken advantage of at Fremont Toyota because we were women.
My credit is gradually repairing, and to gouge me with a $494.00 payment does not help me at all. My mother was kind enough to gift me $4,000 down and co-sign to help me get back off my feet from a hard separation. Fremont Toyota AGREED to $15,000 balance to finance, but they ripped me off and gave me $26,485.10 to finance instead. When I finally had time to read this contract and do my own calculations, I found out that I was gouged on the price. I called them in enough time to fix this problem, but since they sandbagged this issue, the bank has finally processed the loan, and now Im stuck. Another sales person tactic? Another cover up to buy time to shaft me some more? HmmmmI think so.
The people that smiled in my face and cared about me getting back on my feet were no longer there to support memost of them unreachable. I felt isolated and left with no options but to write this letter and get the word out.
FREMONT TOYOTAS SALES/FINANCE STAFF ARE A BUNCH OF NON-CARING MEN THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SINGLE MOTHERS.
All I asked for was what I was told from sales person to buyer.
How will Fremont Toyota fix this? Will they just ignore it? Will corporate just ignore it? Will I write 71 more checks to the bank, envisioning the staff at Fremont Toyota laughing at how they ripped off two single mothers that work hard for their money?
Since Fremont Toyota is not listening to me, maybe Toyota Corporate will listen to me, maybe Better Business Bureau will listen to me, maybe KTVU will listen to me, maybe Seven on Your Side will listen to me, maybe Dr. Phil will listen to me, maybe KICU TV 36 will listen to me. Maybe my network of consumers will listen to me. Maybe my friends will listen to me. Maybe my family will listen to me. Maybe my daughters friends parents and teachers will listen to me. Maybe my neighbors will listen to me. Maybe my network of real estate professionals from the Bay Area to the central valley will listen to me.
Thank you for reading. By the time you have completed this letter, so would have all the people mentioned above, and more that I can think of as my days go by that no one at Fremont Toyota listens to me.

I bought a car from this dealership on Saturday August 30th, on a long Labor Day weekend. I told the Sales Manager, Sean, that my cash is tie up in a brokerage account but I do want to pay for the SUV, Sequoia in full. The sales manager said it would not be a problem and that the finace manager would handle the transaction. After several hours of waiting, I was asked to go the the finance manager's office to finish up the paper work. (It was already pass 8pm that evening).
At that time the Finance Manager said since I don't have the cash available now, it would be best for me to sign up for a simple interest loan for the balance of $33,000. When I get the first payment stub, just pay in full without any interest penalty. The finance manager told that directly to me and my wife with assurance. Since it was getting late and I have two kids with us, I decided to take his recommendation and sign up for a simple interest loan. When I got my first payment stub, I was billed for $200 in accrued interest. I did payoff the car immediately so that I would not be accruing any additional interest at 5.9%. The Finance Manager had really mislead us. I don't know did he have an incentive if he sign us up for a loan.
As soon as I got my first statement, I called and eMail the management. Sean immediately called me back and offer his apology and quickly sent a carpet for my SUV that was matched incorrectly in the SUV. He said he was going to check with the finance manager regarding about the finance charge and get back to me. Till this day, I have not heard back from anyone from Fremont Toyota. I even sent another nice eMail to remind them that the $200 accured interest should not by my responsibility. I told them I was mislead by the Finance Manager. I have not heard back since. The $200 is not material, but is a matter of principal.
The Finance Manager, I felt wanted to wrap the deal quickly and get us out fast. The sales manager did say there was a better way to handle this tranaction than signing a simple interest. Now that my car is paid in full, I do not have title until Feburary next year. Toyota Financial Services said it was not common for anyone to payoff so soon. Although I have paid in full, I do not have the title until next year due to the transaction I was set up. Note: I wanted a seamless transaction that day. I didn't bother to test drive the car so that I can buy it without any complications. It certainly was not after what the Finance Manager had mislead me and my wife. Thank you.
I purchased a new Toyota Corolla CE 2003 model. At the time of purchased, floor mat was included with price, but was not available. Saleman, Joel Halmiton said would have to send to my home later. Promised after promised, I have never seen it.
