2021 32BHDSCK Coachmen Catalina Legacy Edition. After owning for 4 years, found sharp spots on ceiling and flickering dinette light that has turned out to be water damage. More water damage on slide wall. Floor has sunk on opposite side of slide out about an inch leaving a gap for more water to go into the floor. Also water damage inside the front storage. Was told by the technician that this was a manufacturer error when they applied the tape. Otherwise it was not our fault and that he could not find where the storage area leak had come from. His idea was water "wickered up" (If that is possible). Have an extended warranty. They first said they denied our claim, then later they said they hadn't filed a claim. Was told to file without insurance. Insurance says it must be storm damage for them to cover it. So it appears that we may have a severely damaged camper and nobody will pay even though it wasn't our fault.

We purchased a Coachmen Clipper pop-up new from a coachmen dealer in Greenleaf WI. He made us jump thru hoops to get warranty work done so only had it done once there, did the other things myself. The first time we used it the step door fell off, the bolt on the swivel fell out. I ordered new specialty bolts myself and put them in. The nuts and bolts for the locks that came on when you pulled out the beds came out on one side, the others were all loose when I checked. The screws for the track for the door inside on the roof were stripped out, not all but quite a few. The screws for the door hinges were also that way. The water tank inside leaked. The left taillight filled with water and was ruined. It never stops with this camper. I would stay away from Forest River products if I were you. Jim W. Waukesha, WI

      Installation & Setup

      Reviewed July 10, 2025

We bought a 2025 Catalina Destination trailer in February 2025. To cut our losses, we sold it two months later. My wife and I have over 25 years experience as RV owners and have owned about every RV imaginable. This was, by far, the worst quality RV we have ever owned. We wanted this one for use on a permanent site in Florida. Immediately after we took delivery I knew we were in trouble. It appears that part of the build process is to install the sliding door frame and use the slider opening as a delivery port to carry all the cabinetry and furniture in.

The aluminum frame of the slider was absolutely trashed, bent up, nicked, scraped, and bashed. The kitchen cabinets looked the same. Broken corners on base cabinets, scrapes, gouges, etc. The residential fridge nearly lost it's door in transit, as somebody flipped the swing on the thing and stripped the hell out of the screws holding the bottom pilot that supports the door. The door fell off the fridge when I moved the transport latch to open the door.

The next two months were more of the same. Oddly, with the exception of the fact that the electric heat function on the water heater never worked, there were zero mechanical issues at all, which shocked me. Over the next two months of ownership the thing literally fell apart around us. There were many locations where there were rows of staples that just missed wall studs, so the paneling flopped about. Several pieces of trim in the hallway were just missing. There was evidence that they were there in the past, but torn off and thrown away for some reason? The medicine cabinet was falling off the wall since the there were screws missing on the top edge, to secure it to the studs. I put those screws in, using the staple lines on the paneling as guide, I didn't hit any studs, since there were dozens of staples shot into nothing but air in the wall.

The floor had a hellacious squeak, there were two spots where the subfloor edge was starting to telegraph through the vinyl flooring, indicating that the subfloor chipboard was not nailed into a floor joist. The tub surround leaked like a screen door. It was mostly properly caulked, but the caulk was incompatible with the tub surround material and did not actually adhere to it, allowing water to flow under and around the caulk. The tub had a small seat built in. It was so poorly installed that it would allow an inch of water to pool on the seat. You needed a squeegee to push the quart of water off the seat, and then spend time pushing the water on the floor into the drain, as the tub was slightly thicker than a zip lock bag, and deforming already to the point that the drain was NOT the low point in the tub. And yes, the bathroom floor was dead level, I checked.

The bed frame essentially decomposed after a few weeks, and anybody taking a look at the underside of it would see why, it was mostly hopes and dreams, not structure. I was walking past the kitchen island when I head a loud crack. Apparently one of the few screws used to secure it to the floor has snapped and from then on the island just swayed back and forth. I was getting out of a recliner when I head something break and the front edge of the lower cushion showed a strange crumple, like a pillow needing to be fluffed. The chair was weeks old and used a few times. The large slide with the dining area and recliners was sagging severely, as the header carrying the top of the slide was laughably undersized, it sagged a good 2" in 14 ft.

As we came to the end of our winter snowbird season, one thing was clear. This thing would fall apart until it was either a full time job to patch up, or it started leaking and ended up being valueless, or costing us a fortune to repair. We sold it to a wholesale buyer after less that ten weeks of use. I was thrilled to get the check and be free of that nightmare.

I purchased a brand new 2024 Coachmen Remote 17R from General RV in January of 2025. It turned out to have, among other issues, a roof that is full of wrinkles. Neither General RV or Forest River will do anything substantial about it, they just decided that pouring a little extra self leveling sealer on it would make me happy. I want to know how they would feel if I sold them a new car and the paint on the roof and hood was full of runs and I said it was normal, just accept it. Don’t ever buy anything from General RV or Forest River products, they don’t stand behind them.

We purchased a 2024 Coachmen Chaparral in October of 2024, in October we contacted them regarding an awning issue, zero help. Now we are in freezing temps with no furnace and have been trying for 4 days to contact them, no one will answer the phone or return our call. I would never recommend purchasing from them.

Coachmen is a brand I do not advise anyone to buy, they do not stand by their product. Buy from somewhere else, make sure it is not built by Forest River, Coachmen RV factory in Elkhart IND. They just throw them together, NO QUALITY CONTROL. They look good but ours has been A NIGHTMARE. Don't make the mistake we did and hire a company that will inspect the unit for you before you sign any papers, please. You will thank me later.

We bought a 2023 Catalina Destination Trailer from Ron Hoover in South Houston. They were gracious and stored our trailer till the property we were going to place it was ready. That's the nicest thing I have to say about Coachmen products. We had door moldings that were not secured into the door frames, big bubbles in the wallpaper where it wasn't properly installed, hinges that were loose and falling off, doors that weren't level with the one next to it, siding around the bed that wasn't tacked to the framing, sensor gauges that don't work or don't work properly, toilet that isn't secured to the floor, flooring that peels away from the board under it, cupboards that the side wall isn't even close to the front trim that holds the door in place, the list goes on and on.

We've lived in our brand new trailer for less than 2 months and everyday there's something new that needs to be fixed. I'm stuck. Coachmen won't fix it even though it's still under warranty, and I have a payment that I can't get out of. This was suppose to be our new home for our final years. Just beware of buying sub quality workmanship, and products. Go anywhere else except Coachmen!

We bought a 2016 Chapparal and after 3 years, the bedroom slide floor rotted out. After 8 years, both back slides rotted and the back wall started showing water damage. Coachman customer service is absolutely rotten and won't even respond to complaints. Terribly built RVs.

Purchased a new 2023 Coachmen Catalina Legacy 323QBTSCK from Burdick RV center in Cicero NY. (Don't bother going there. Terrible service.) Had water the camper on the second day. Requested a refund as we hadn't even used it and they refused. They had camper for two weeks and upon getting it back had more water than the first time in the camper.

Upon moving camper had water pouring out of it and upon investigating found several patches underneath the camper which we were told is normal on a new travel trailer. Requesting a refund as we purchased a new product and what we received was not a product in new condition. The camper had several issues beside the main one of water damage. The door shut very hard stuck when opening, the bathroom door was installed wrong staples throughout the camper where half up half down, there was a tear in the bunk bed railing, boards peeling due to water damage. Can't get the dealer and or coachmen to answer questions.

Finally got an appointment 5/14/24. How ironic the saleswomen that sold me the unit I was told resign the week before, however I did get my unit fix. Coachmen didn't give me an explanation as to why the unit was sold with that kind of workmanship, but again there is problem with the rubber seal around the driver's door that I was told it was a Mercedes issue. They would not be able to touch it because of such. Other than that all the other issues were resolve.

I bought a what was supposed to be a 23 Coachmen Galleria Q in May of 2023 from General RV. It was actually a 2022 chassis with I suppose a 2023 body. I only took 2 trips before it started to fall apart. The first thing I noticed was the fog light cover was falling off. That should have been a sign that this was a bad sale, then on my 2nd trip the closet door fall off while I was driving down the road, then the microwave started coming out of the cabinet again while I was driving.

The air around the door of the driver and passenger doors was so loud I couldn't hear the radio, I've been calling Mercedes, they told me that is a coachmen problem. Coachmen told me because I live in Texas and I brought it in Michigan they are not obligated to fix my class b coachmen, so now I have to drive it back to Michigan back to the dealer to get everything fix and it's under the manufactures warranty. I email coachmen to ask is this the kind of rv's you guys sell? No one wants to own up to this shoddy crap, I can't believe Mercedes put their logo on this buyers remorse. I would never buy coachmen
