Andrew Polacek had a nine-year career in investment banking and private equity. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, magna cum laude and with honors with degrees in Business Administration with a focus in finance and Economics, Andy joined Houlihan Lokey (at that time Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin) in Los Angeles as an investment-banking analyst. Andy spent two years assisting companies with their mergers and acquisitions, financing, valuations and other corporate finance related needs, with a specialization in the media and entertainment sector.
Andy joined Mainsail Partners, a San Francisco based growth equity private equity firm, where he focused on sourcing, executing and growing middle market sized businesses. At Mainsail, Andy managed relationships with hundreds of middle market business owners as well as the relationships with the larger middle market investment banks in the U.S. After three years as an Associate at Mainsail Partners, Andy joined Crimson Investment, a middle market focused private equity firm that invests in companies with a China/Asia investment strategy, as a Senior Associate and was later promoted to a Vice President at the firm.
Andy’s primary role at Crimson Investment was to expand the firm’s investment banking relationships and to source deals for the firm. In this capacity, he flew around the United States and Canada meeting with hundreds of middle market investment banking managing directors. Andy’s unique experience on the buy side and the sell side of mergers and acquisitions affords him a unique insight into the various middle market investment banks and the specific value that each firm can bring to a company contemplating a corporate advisory need.
