Anthony Morrison Advertising Profits From Home

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

We ordered the Anthony Morrison Profits from Home books from an infomercial. Only $20 no big deal. After we bought the books, the phone calls started. We read the books and this guy really makes it sound like this is the greatest thing on earth. After reading the books and talking it over, we decided to go with the program (Affiliate Marketing). We failed to Google the guy and read what other people were saying. Needless to say $11,680 later, they won't let us cancel or get a refund. They say they have a 3-day cancellation policy and we are screwed. On top of that, they charged you an extra $29.95 a month for using their service.

I am cancelling my credit card to stop the $29.95 a month. Is there any way we can get help in getting our $11,680 back? We are both senior citizens on a fixed income and we thought this would give us some extra income in our golden years. We had to divide the $11,680 up between 3 different credit cards. We have called to have the amounts disputed but one of them (Bank of America), for $5,000, is siding with Morrison but Ridgecrest Consulting is the one who billed our credit cards. Wells Fargo, for $6,000, is sending me a dispute form but will probably get the same answer and Chase for $680 is sending a dispute form.

Is there any way we can get help in getting our $11,680 back besides through our credit card companies?

We would appreciate any help we can get.

I called into Advertised Profits from Home VRU but I did not speak with a live representative, only the VRU. I gave my debit card number upfront and then VRU proceeded to ask for additional charges. I declined all charges and I asked that order be cancelled. VRU would not allow cancellation of order. I called the company at the given number on 01/28/10 to cancel the order by phone. Caroline, the representative, told me that since I did not call yesterday, I could not cancel the order. I told her that the charges were fraudulent because I requested that the order be canceled at the time of placing the order. I told her that the VRU did not provide a phone number to talk with a customer service representative. She stated that I was incorrect. I told her that I did not want the merchandise and would return it if sent.

My problem is with the fact that the VRU would not allow me to cancel the order even though I stated it repeatedly. I feel that this company dealt in false advertisement and I want no dealings with them. I do not want their merchandise and feels duped. I will now have to close my debit card because I do not trust the reputation of this company or its product. I am not comfortable with charges that they may attempt to put on my account in the future. While I have not authorized any future charges, I do not want this company to have access to my personal information. I feel that the company has fraudulent practices.
