Valerie of Monroeville PA writes (10/20/02):
First of all, they did not work with my mother on the contract properly. The prices were continually being changed as we had gotten closer to the wedding date. She was unwilling to discuss this issue with my maid of honor who was also in charge of the wedding planning.

I feel the services provided were innappropriate and all performed unprofessionally. The reception was conducted in a disorderly fashion. The staff was rude to myself and my guests. I felt rushed by one of the servers and other guests were also aware of this.

My biggest complaint is that they did not follow through serving the cake as we were told they would. They merely cut the cake and left the pieces to sit on the cookie table and disposed of it shortly thereafter. The entire wedding party or my mother, let alone any of the guests, did not get a piece of the wedding cake which was to be served to the tables individually. The cake was disposed of approximately 15 minutes after being left on the back table. This was a $175 wedding cake that was wasted at our expense.

I feel that my mother and stepfather were taken advantage of financially due to the fact that they practically ran out of food and then overcharged my mother for an extra 12 meals when technically only two extra guests showed. We shouldn't have been charged any extra money because of the extremely small portions of food that were served.

Numerous guests have been calling to complain to my family members about the tablespoon-size portions of food that were served and of how rudely they were treated at our wedding reception by the staff members. We are trying to start our new life together, and we do not need this extra added stress.

We are now in the process of sending apology letters along with the 180 "Thank You" notes to all of our guests. This is uneccessary added work that we should not have to be dealing with along with our more than full-time careers.
