Michelle of Westfield, NJ, writes: I was frantically trying to contact this woman because we paid her deposits for these dresses. I located a telephone number for her husband from a friend and he gave me her number. They were separated. When I spoke to her she told me that she had to sell the store and said that my dresses were being taken care of and not to worry. I asked why I was not notified of the store closing and she said she sent a letter to me. I never received any letter. This is the second time that she claims she sent something to me via mail and I never got it. Anyway, I asked her about my order and she said that she did not follow up on that but she would get me the info and let me know the week of the 25th. I told her to fax the letter that she claims she sent on Mon. 1/25. She did not. She told me she forgot to do it . It came on 1/26 says she will call me on 1/28 or 1/29 with details on my order. She never did. I try to contact her on 1/31 at 10:00 am but no one answered. I called her husband and he called her and got through, she saw my # and did not want to pick the phone up. She finally calls me at 8:25 pm 1/31 to tell me that my dress would be ready in two weeks. My bridesmaids dresses would not be ready until 2nd week in April. She never found out about my flower girl dress. Was supposed to fax to me everything she told me and also send me a swatch of the bridesmaids dress. 2/1 No fax received. No phone call. Called my coordinator, Marilyn, to tell her the story and she said she would try to contact her and get the story. Marilyn tried for 5 days until she finally got her. Told her same story and was upset that I was calling her so much. She said she forgot to fax the info once again. 2/8 contacted Moonlight Collection - no bridal gown was ever ordered and she owed them money. Contacted New Image for bridesmaids dresses, they don't have an account for her. Contacted Alfred Angelo, they do not have an order for a dress either. Something fishy is going on. This woman has $1200 of my money since 9/98 and has not done a thing. How many other brides have been succumbed to this? The consequences is it has been 4 months and I have no dresses. I have to front all the money paid for the deposits for these dresses and go to another bridal store. This was a waste of my time. I started early so that I would not have to deal with aggravation. All the phone calls made from my place of business is not right. I just started a new job and I have to take days off to deal with taking this woman to court to get back my money. She had to know that her store was going out of business. I went to her in September and the store closed in November. She is holding me up with other things that I need to do for my wedding. Planning a wedding is frustrating as it is and a lot of hard work to not have to deal with **** like this. |
