Santana Energy

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

After speaking to a "representative" of Consumer's Energy, who was supposedly here on the company's behalf, I did a little research. First I did a search for Santana and only came back with negative feedback. I called Consumer's to speak to them about it and they were not behind anyone coming to anyone's residence on this behalf.

While I may not always be thrilled with only having Consumer's as my service provider for this area, I have never had a problem with their customer service. Calling Santana back to cancel the program, I was first put on hold to which I was hung up on. I then received a phone call from them angry with me for disconnecting.

When I told them I wanted to cancel the program, they became extremely rude and start to speak to me in a condescending manner, much like others have complained about here. I told them I looked into their services and was not thrilled with what I found out and was given the same "you don't want to save money?" routine that others have gotten as well.

The company knows one way to try and retain customers and that is to bully them. While this probably seems like a great deal (having a choice and seeing a reduction in your monthly bill) the cost will actually be higher in the end due to hidden fees. Avoid this company at all costs.

I've been contacted two times by this company. The first time, I told the girl that I was on the registry, and not to call me anymore, and one week later, I received another call from them. I asked the gentleman why he was calling someone on the registry, and that it was against the law to do it, and his exact words were "come on, don't you want to save some money? You're going to use gas anyway, aren't you? Why do you have to be this way?" When I told him again that he was breaking the law, he said "who cares, when I'm here to save you money?" I then hung up, and looked them up on the internet, and contacted their Southfield, MI office, and asked them if they knew the number that was calling me, and the lady said I can't give you that information.

I asked her if she had reps calling people on the call registry, and she said, "I think that they are not supposed to, and that it was up to the individuals to watch that themselves". She immediately wanted my information, and would have someone call me back, but I told her I didn't want to be contacted by her company in the first place, and that I would not disclose who I was. I have since sent complaints to the BBB, the FTC, the MPSC, and my local news agencies. A few years back, a company going door to door trying to get people to switch on the spot tried to con my wife to switching, even after she said she wanted to discuss it with me. They then slammed my gas service, and switched it without authorization. I'm not sure if this is the same company but I've already contacted my current carrier to let them know that they are not to switch at any time. I hope they get fined, but probably will just get a slap on the wrist.

Santana Energy company called my house on 1/26/12 telling me to get my gas bill out because I qualify for a discount on my current gas bill. I happened to be in the middle of something at the time and asked the lady for her name and number to call her back and she abruptly said, "I'll call you back" and hung up. I proceeded to do a reverse look up on the phone number and found that this person was calling from a cell phone. Very suspicious. I would be very cautious of this company.

Santana called here for the second time last night even though I'm on a no-call list and tried to sign me up for their program.

I asked dozens of questions about how they operate and what is included in their pricing, and I did a bunch of calculating and was almost ready to sign up. Then I asked - one more time - if delivery charges are included in their guaranteed price; they had previously said they were. This last time, they admitted that the delivery charges are not included. So I told them that, in that case, I am already paying less than the price they were offering. They hung up immediately.

They offered their service based on information they knew was false and they terminated the call as soon as I demonstrated as much. It's not a good business practice.

My mother, who is a senior, had her gas switched to Santanna without her permission. When I compared her bill to my brother's, she used approximately 18 therms more energy but her bill was $100 more. She was charged a supplier charge of $76 on a $70 bill. My brother's usage (same building) is almost 130 therms, but the bill $118.41. My mother's usage is 146.45 therms and the total bill is $209.86. Santanna is a sham of a company that switched her bill without her permission. She is a senior and they are taking advantage by charging a "supplier charge" of nearly double her usage. Stay away from them. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

An agent for Santana Energy called my home phone on 1/21/2012 and immediately launched into a company sales pitch. I stopped the agent to explain that I do not accept telephone solicitation. I then explained that my telephone number is on the federal Do Not Call Registry. As I began to request her call-back number and name, she sarcastically said, "Oh, good day!" then hung up on me without providing any information. Santana Energy should be held accountable for calling phone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry.

Santana Energy is a great company! My rates are always lower than the utility rates of my friends and family who haven't signed up yet. People complain about everything costing too much nowadays. And then when you get a chance to save money, you complain about it, and say it's a scam. Wow, really? You should really learn more about the program. I did. I did my research. I don't get a separate bill. I save money. My bill still comes from DTE and my rate is lower with Santana.

A priest came to my door on Friday, 11/11/11. He asked to see my bill from DTE telling me he could get a better rate, and it was "up to me" if I wanted to save money or keep paying the higher rates that DTE charges. He made it sound like I would be "stupid" to not switch to them. I did listen to what he had to say, and then I said I wanted the week-end to think it through, but, if I decided to go with them, I would call him on Monday.

He did leave his badge #, and phone number, (a Lakeshore area code, even though he said the local office was only about 1-2 miles from our house, though he never gave a specific address). He also said he's from "Santanna Energy," the issue I have is, he didn't even spell it right, so, who's "stupid"?! Anyway, I don't think he saw or wrote down our account number. If he did, he'll be hearing from our lawyer.

If Santana Energy is on the up and up, then why are they refusing to obey a "No Soliciting" sign at the front of GlenWood Estates in Sparta Michigan? Ignoring a "No Soliciting" sign is trespassing. So, they are breaking the law every time they come to my door, and this has been done 3 times in the last 3 months. The manager has kicked them out at least 2 times that I know of, and every month Santana sends a different agent as to avoid, no doubt, being prosecuted for trespassing.

Secondly, why are these agents of Santana Energy telling people that they are making sure that home heating credits are being applied to their bills? They are not looking to save you money. They are looking to steal your contract from DTE. Once they get the bill, they write the contract number down and switch the billing to their own contracts. This is quite deceptive.

If Santana was doing things the way they should be done and not ripping people off, they wouldn't need to resort to underhanded fraudulent activities to sign people up. People would be beating a path to their offices. Santana is a ripoff, and they are snakes when it comes to sneaking your contract number off your gas bill. Do not let them see your gas bill! If they claim to be DTE, then they should already know what your contract and billing states. If they claim to be government employees, tell them the last time the government offered you help -you lost your house!

Santana Energy Services has a great BBB rating. Since signing up, my rate has always been lower than the utility rate. You should learn more about the program from reading peoples' responses on here because I can tell that you know nothing about the choice program. You don't get a separate bill. It doesn't cost you more money, it actually saves money. My current rate is lower with Santana than it would be if I just left it with DTE, and has been for over a year! My grandmother lives in an area where consumers energy is the gas utility and she has Santana also. Their rate right now is $5.90 per mcf while consumers is above $6.10! Learn the program before you bash it.

Gena came to my 72 year old mother's door, in Hesperia, Michigan and stated she was from DTE Energy and that she needed to see my mother's bill so she could get the savings on her gas bill that she was suppose to get before. She rudely grabbed my mother's phone and called her agent to get these savings for my mother on her gas bill, when my mother never had said yes.

Later I found out after she had left that she was not from DTE Energy at all, she was employed through Santanna Energy. So, I then contacted DTE and they confirmed that they were not out at my mother's home. I then contacted Santanna Energy to cancel what this representative had signed my mother up for. I was told I could not cancel for 24 hours. I called back after an hour and got someone else that cancelled this account and then I called back to DTE and put a password on my mother's account so that they cannot try and get gas at another address in my mother's name.

I called TV 13 on your side, talked with an Officer of the law and an Attorney in regards to Santanna Energy's misrepresenting themselves as someone that they are not. I also checked online and found all these complaints against them as well. I feel that DTE as well as all these other companies should be able to sue them as well for saying they belong to all these other places when they do not. As well as stating they save you money when all it is, is a lie to steal your money when actually the company in which you are with is still supplying you with their gas. Santanna is sending you a bill for nothing, just to steal your money.

I think we should all stand up and get an attorney and file a class action law suit against Santanna, for these criminal acts against the public. If you feel you would like to be a part of this class action law suit, please contact me at ** please leave me a message. If I don't answer, I will get back with you and your concerns. It's pretty sad that they can prey on people in this dire economy and have no remorse. I feel that all of you should contact TV 13 on your side and give them your complaint as well so this will be aired on live television so that everyone that has not come in contact with Santanna Energy and their representatives are aware and can protect themselves against these kinds of corrupt people and companies.

Their number is **, TV 13 on your side. We need to stand up for ourselves and stand together and say enough is enough. And all those that have been taken from this company can get back all the money stolen from them. Contact me.

A tall dressed black male in uniform with a business tag came knocking at my door saying he was with Santana Energy & GTE. He was very tricky with wording and he was practically saying he was with GTE. He asked for my bill and was very persistent in asking for my bill like he worked with GTE. He stayed with me while the person he called was verifying my information over the phone.

The person on the phone sounded like a telemarketer, so I immediately got angry on the phone and explained to them that the person at my front door is acting like he is from GTE energy. I told the people on the phone, "Be honest with me, are you with GTE?" and they said "No".

So, I told this man on my front porch to go and unfortunately, he took off with my account number. These people are sneaky. Bad business practices if you have to pretend you are from GTE.

Representative Priest stated to my nephew, who opened the door to him, that he needed to see my DTE Energy bill and that it was because my usage wasn't what it should be. My Nephew came to me and I went to the door and told the man I wouldn't give or show my bill to anyone who asked for it. I explained that I recently had energy efficient windows put in and that my energy usage was down by 42% from last year. He still insisted that he needed to see my bill because he was assigned to my area and that some homes in the area had been showing inadequate usage and that he needed to check the bill and notify DTE to correct it.

I stated that his shirt logo stated he was from Sanatan Energy and not DTE, so I wouldn't share anything like a bill with him and I needed him to leave me his badge number, phone number, name and I would call DTE tomorrow to verify if he was who he said he was. He told me I should have received a letter or flyer in my DTE bill that stated that DTE would be sending someone out to check my bill for verification of my usage.

I left him empty-handed even though he showed me at least 8 names on his clipboard that he said were my neighbors that had let him view their bills.

A santana energy rep approached my home and notified me that they could save me money on my gas bill. The rep then asked to see my Consumers bill. I showed him and he showed me where I could save a certain percentage from my original bill. I signed up and then found out from a co-resident that what they do is get you to sign up and then later on you receive two bills and another person (older in age) did the same thing and received a bill for $1300. I went out and found the rep and told them I wanted to cancel he said I had to contact Santana Energy. That rep told me I had to wait 24 hours but that I would receive a notice of cancellation in the mail. If you need there info, the number is 1-800-764-4427 and the address is 2000 Town Center Suite 1900, Southfield, MI 48075

Just to note, the community that I live in has a NO SOLICITING sign posted at the entrance.

Reps. from Santana Energy Services call repeatedly to get us to switch from DTE here in MI. On the latest call, they claimed they were working with DTE to give us a discount on our bill and they said it would show up on the next bill. In order to do this however I needed to give them my DTE account number, when I said I wasn't comfortable doing that they hung up.

Santana representatives came to my door and misrepresented themselves as from Peoples Gas. I didn't understand just what they wanted. They asked to see my Peoples Gas bill. I showed it to them since I was told they represented Peoples Gas. They looked at the bill and told me that I had not been deregulated and they were going to fix it for me. They stated that my cost for therm would be lowered to 47 cents for therm (current cost is 52 cents).

They asked to use my phone to call the gas company. They said that it had to be done from my home. I refused to let them use the phone and I was told that he was going to send an e mail instead. I later found out that they were switching my gas service to Santana. I do not want my service to be switched. I still want Peoples Gas as my supplier. Please help. I don't need this aggravation. I am 78 years old and am happy with Peoples Gas. Please stop these people from misrepresenting the facts to people.

I have received multiple calls from these folks telling me DTE Energy has offered me a gas choice and then they launch into my information, address, phone, etc. without ever telling me who they are. They said they can save me half on my bill. When I ask who they are and that I want to research them, they get nasty. On one occasion they switched the phone to someone else all together. Today, the man on the line kept calling me Ma'am over and over again and snickered when I said I wanted to look into the first. He said "You don't want to save money on your bill?" in a condescending way. The callers are always rude and when I told them I had the right to research them, the guy hung up, again.

They keep calling and harassing me. I am disabled and don't deserve this kind of treatment. They call at any hour of the day or evening, their attitude changes severely after kindly refusing their questionable service that in the long run will not save any money. And more importantly, they lie about the whole service from minute one. I feel strongly that this company is not for anyone in Michigan. Beware of the harassment techniques and bully attitude on the phone. If I get any more calls, my lawyer will be contacted and we will find a way to get compensated for this harassment. Oh, and good luck to anyone who can even find their customer service.

The representative was rude and would not take no for an answer. He pretty much called me an ** by the end of the conversation. That's a great way to sell something. Tells me a lot about the rest of the company.

I received a welcome aboard letter from Santana Energy Services. Since I had not signed up for any other gas service, we use North Shore Gas. I called Santana to ask what the letter was about. I was told that Camosy had signed up for Santana Energy to replace our North Shore Gas account. They could not tell me who at our company they had talked to. If Santana could not show any proof that we had actually signed up how could this be considered a legal contract? Santana Energy Services is bad news. They have unscrupulous sales reps and business practices.

These people knocked at my door and talked very nicely. At first, they said they were there to help me lower my gas bills, which are actually on my husband's name. I thought, "Well this could be very good". They explained things to me in a very good way, and they showed me the savings that I was supposed to have. So, they filled an application for me, and then they put me on the phone with somebody who can verify things to check that everything was ok, and said "okay" to questions.

After they left, I checked the papers more carefully. I found out that some information that they forgot to mention, which was that I was going to start with a certain rate, but at the end of the initial term of 6 months, this rate was going to double. I called Santana Energy Services immediately after I noticed all these irregularities. Supposedly, you can cancel any time prior to midnight of the third business day, and they were here at 4 PM on Saturday 15. So, it is already 5:25 PM, and I had been calling them since around 4:20, and I left messages letting them know that I want to cancel, and they hadn't called me back.

I also sent an e-mail to them, but I didn't have any answer either. I am frustrated, angry and desperate, because they don't call back. How convenient it is for them to come in late in afternoon on a weekend, so you can't get in touch with the office to cancel as soon as you know what kind of trap they put you into, but they are there to verify your information. That is just so wrong. Meanwhile, I will keep trying to get in contact with them, to cancel the agreement. It is going to be hard because today is Saturday, 15th day of the month, and it is a long weekend due to Martin Luther King's birthday. I bet they will be closed on Monday (17th day of the month), so there goes my three business days.

They kept on calling few times a week. A search on google found this lawsuit against them **.

Santanna Energy Services is not a scam! As a representative of Santanna Energy services, I must make a comment to clear up the complaints. Granted, there are some phone sales representatives out there who are not courteous and unprofessionally persistent. To me, it is sad that we have been given such a bad name because Santanna is such a great company. In 2005, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita disrupted and destroyed oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico. This led to disaster driven crisis pricing in the energy markets and natural gas prices doubled! Due to these events, Santanna Energy Services was forced to send a letter to some of its customers on fixed price programs, notifying that it was no longer possible to deliver natural gas at their fixed price level and effective with deliveries on and after October 1, 2005 to a market driven price. As soon as the market pricing settled back to normal, Santanna did address differences in cost that they experienced. Santanna does save people money.

I sign up over 15 people a day and do routine satisfaction checks in which I've only had 3 cancellations in 2 years, and that was because either the business was sold or a better rate was found. With over 20 years of experience and success, we must be doing something right. People must realize that every company has complaints. If you look up your cable company, your phone company, your internet company, your gas and electric companies, your hospital, your dentist, etc., they will all have dissatisfied customers, yet you remain loyal to them. Please just take the time to listen to a courteous representative and if you want to research, do detailed research to find out true information instead of listening to people's experiences.

I apologize on behalf of real representatives to those who have been harassed by unprofessional ones. A good solution is to take the info of the rep, write down the date and time of the call, and then ask to be placed on the do not call list. That way, if you're continually harassed, the representative will be found and dealt with appropriately, which is usually termination.

I don't even have gas in my name and these people keep calling, even after I have told them not to. They call on weekends and make 4 or 5 calls daily.

These people harass me day and night. They lied about the time it would take on the phone - not ten minutes but 40. When I called the gas company, I found out that they don't necessarily save me money.

I received an initial call from Santa Gas, but the representative was very misleading and implied that this was in cooperation with North Shore Gas. I listened patiently through the call and then was transferred to another representative to go through the switch process. Meanwhile, I was checking them out on the internet.

Once I saw the reports on them, I quickly told the representative I was not interested and want to be removed from their call list. I continue to get calls from them at least 2 a week. Each time, I asked to be removed from their call list. They are an annoyance and should be penalized for inappropriate phone practices.

They have called for the last two days, five all together. I told them I would talk it over with my brother and we have decided not to go with their services after I looked them up on the internet. Thank god for internet.

Please stop calling me about your company I have Nicor and do not intend to c hange Take me off your phone list

I received a solicitation call two weeks ago from Santana Energy trying to sell their gas through the NICOR customer select program. At that time I declined their offer and requested my name and contact number be removed from their calling list. Today I received another solicitation call from them with the same offer. Again I declined the service. The telemarketer was having a difficult time accepting my no, as did the previous caller. He was offering me a rate of 8 cents per therm versus NICOR's 45 cents per therm rate.

This company continues to call me, saying my name and I live in Oxford and that they can save me money on my gas bill. This has been going on for about a month or more. The calls are continuous and sometimes as late as after 8:30 PM. I've told them I was not interested and to please take me off there list to stop calling. But they won't and continue to call over and over. One person told me it takes 7 days to take me off the list and I told her it's been over a month. I asked additional questions on 4/27/10 and when I got to there phone number, they hung up. Just in the last week, they've called 4/27/10, 5/3/10 and 5/4/10. How do I get them to stop calling me? Please advise me or direct me to the right place or person.

I have had an account with Santanna Energy Services for over a year. I originally signed up with them in July of '08 and was told the same spiel of this saving me money. I signed up, and have noticed that I was paying more than I would have I just stuck with Nicor. I waited it out, to see if Santanna would benefit me, and it didn't. Today I received my bill for Nicor and it was over $100 more than it normally is. I called Nicor and they checked my meter reading (which was accurate) and they said that, for this month, Santanna was charging me $.10 more than Nicor would have per therm. They also said that Nicor's portion of the bill was $59, and the rest was Santanna. I went over the last couple months with them as well, and it would've been cheaper for me to deal with just Nicor, and not the outside company.

I, too, recently received a call from a representative implying he was from Nicor on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. He went into a whole speech about how I could get involved in this "great" program (Customer Select) since my account has been in good standing for some time. I asked him several times what this program entailed and why I had never heard of it before, because he had made it seem that it was something I had to complete, saying it was past due, and I could have 20 more days to fill out the paper work and get it finalized. After asking me numerous times to pull out my Nicor bill, I finally did and was asked for the therm count on the bill. I decided to give this to him, and once I did, he then proceeded to ask me for my account number. I was already concerned about the legitimacy of the call, but once I was asked for my account number, I told him I would call my local Nicor office first and he could call back. He got frustrated with my response, and proceeded with attitude and gave me all of his information including his license number, name, customer service number, where I could go view the Customer Select program on Nicor's website, etc. to, in his words 'ease my mind.' I again told him I was going to contact my local branch first. After several minutes of going back and forth, he finally said to me, "It would just make my life easier if you would just give me your account number, then I won't have to have my secretary pull your account again." Upon hearing that, I told him again that I was going to contact my local branch before I gave out any information and he could call back another day. He then proceeded to say "You know what I'm going to do, I'm just going to put a note in your file right now not to call you back, and when your name comes up again, I will just pass it up!" Wow! Talk about customer service! I informed him I did not appreciate the harassment and I would be filing a formal complaint.

Now, this entire time, my blood was boiling; and, I had thought it was a Nicor representative! I had tried calling Nicor's customer service department as soon as I got off the call to follow through with my complaint, but come to find out, the customer service office closes at 7! Well, that didn't make any sense! I decided to try calling the customer service number the representative had given me, and that's when I found out it was Santanna Energy Services!

The next day, I called Nicor to inform them of my call from the night before. The representative from Nicor was extremely nice and very apologetic even though it had nothing to do with them. She took down notes from my call and said she was going to pass them along. I then called Santanna Energy Services and spoke with a customer service representative and told her I wanted to make a complaint. The representative I spoke with said all calls were recorded and they would be looking over the call from the previous day. I asked her how things would proceed and was told if he was entirely out of line, it may lead to termination. I asked to be called back Monday, after they looked into the complaint. It is now Tuesday, and I have yet to hear back from Santanna.

And, it gets better. The representative, Larry, initially called me Thursday from a 877 area code number located in Carson City, NJ. After looking at my caller id on Friday, I received 2 calls from the same number; one around 5:30, 15 minutes after I made the complaint, and the second at 9:00 at night! I did not notice any missed calls on the phone on Saturday, but Sunday received another call from the same number at 12:30 p.m.! Stated on the website of Santanna's, it says that representatives are assigned to accounts, meaning there wouldn't be numerous representatives directed to each account, so I can only assume it is the same representative, Larry, that is trying to contact me again. I just can't believe I am still getting calls from this rep, and why am I getting calls later than 8 p.m. and calls on Sunday!?

All in all, I really hope people think twice about getting involved with this company. As you can see from numerous other complaints and the recent lawsuit, it's as close to a scam as you can get.

I recently received a call from Santana Gas offering to become my sole supplier of gas, maintaining Peoples Gas as my delverer. They agreed to do this at a fixed rate for the next 12 months. After one person explained the program and costs and answered my questions, they put me on a line with a verifier. I was told that the verifier could not answer questions and could only accept yes or no responses. During the conversation with the verifier, the verifier said something that was different from what was explained to me. I questioned this and the person who had first explained the program jumped back on line to attempt to answer the question.

Upon answering the question, this person put me back on the line with the verifier, who, in proceeding through the script, told me I had to answer with a yes or no answer (because I had answered with "correct" instead of "yes"- because I realize that yes's can be construed differently from "correct") and asked another question that was not as explained. The initial person again jumped back on the line to answer the question and had me hold for the verifier to come back on the line. At this point I became uncomfortable and hung up. I have 2 questions.

1. Through research I found that Santana gas has had some issues with maintaining their fixed quoted pricing. Is this still an issue?

2. Based on my starting the conversation with them and answering a few "yes" questions, will they automatically make the change (even though I did not complete the process)?

On Thursday, August 13, 2009 I was contacted by telephone and asked if I would be interested in saving money on my gas bill. The company represented by this telemarketer was Santana Energy Services and I was told that I qualified to purchase my natural gas at a wholesale rate because I have always paid my gas bill on time. I was asked who was my current provider and I told the representative that I was satisfied with both the rate I was paying and the service of this company, IGS. I was then told by the representative that they were charging me at a much higher rate per therm than Santana would charge. I then agreed to consider switching after having an opportunity to carefully go over their agreement which they were to send to me in the "next few days".

I had reservations just from the experience on the telephone with Santana's representative and was told that someone from Santana would then verify that I was indeed eligible for a reduced rate. Thus far, I have agreed only to consider switching providers if in fact they were being truthful. I then decided to check to see what possible complaints I might find regarding Santana Energy Services and discovered that there is a suit against them by the Attorney General of Illinois.

I wanted to report this occurence in hopes that it might help others who are contacted by this company to know that they could be dealing with dishonest people.

my bill is $230.00 a month . a man called me on the phne about a locked rate for my gas. i told him o.k. when i recieved my gas bill it was $579.11 for 02/04/2009 total balance $1,247.11 the supplier charges $422.11 im on a bget plane with peoples gas. im also on a fixed im come , and diibility i am going to have a hard time paying this bill.

In December of 2008 I received a flyer in the mail stating that Nicor Gas buys their gas directly from Santana Energy. I called Santana Energy and they stated they could save me up to 10% every month by buying my gas directly from them. I called Nicor and switched. I was paying Nicor $171.00 a month on their budget plan. My December gas bill (1st from Santana) was $263.56. They said that was because Nicor DID NOT read my meter. I paid it. This months bill is $395.78. How can that be? Santana's cost per therm last month was .08 more per therm than Nicor. I was told I would save money. I am going back to Nicor, wish I never left.

Now I have to pay the Santana bill of $395.78 so I do not ruin my credit. When I did speak to Roberto Cruz, Team leader at Santana, I had asked to speak to his supervisor. He said he was the end-all and no one was above him. I asked to speak to the CEO of the company and he stated again, all complaints go thru him. My opinion is this company is running a scam and I am sorry I ever thought I could save money with them. Any help you could give me or other potential customers would be greatly appreciated.

Feb. 1, 2008 received a telemarketing call from a male, stated he was with Sanatana Eneregy Services. This man said Santana Energy Services was a "Front End Supplier" of natural gas, and that as I as a "customer in good standing with Nicor Gas, could receive a 10% descount on my current gas bills if I enetered a 12 month service agreement with them". I questioned the call...took some information, and stated if interested I would contact them. I am no different than anyone and must admit that the thought of saving money appealed to me. I did however, have a few bells going off and declined.

After the conversation I decideded to seek out further information regarding this company, as I had never heard of them. Having come accross the article in your site regarding a 2005 lawsuit, I am very happy I followed my gut instinct, and declined his offer. I have provided you with all the information I was given, and hope you follow through as necessary. I do so hate companies that prey on people's wanting to save money in these times.

Santana defrauded Illinois and its customers. It did that just to make money. Customers should know about US Energy Savings Corporation. They give last years rate as your fixed price for 5 years. Thats 5 full Winters at last years prices. Thats an awesome deal 5 years ago you paid 27 cents per therm. Last winter Peoples charged over 1.30 per therm. Just think how much money you will save over the next 5 winters. By your 4th year you most likely would be paying half as much as your neighbors who are not doing this. Most Important of all US Energy will not renig on the deal its all legit. Santana should have to pay customers back for what they did
