Resorts Rescued

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I signed up with this company in March of 2009. The cost $900.00 the promise they would sell or rent my timeshare in six months or I could get my money back. But the contract stated they only had to prove they advertised and that statment was void. Diana was very nice at first when I explained my father had passed away and we just needed to sell the timeshare to help cover funeral expenses. She assured me that there were laws to protect me if I used my credit card.(That is true but you must act quickly and six months is too long.)

Anyway that was pretty much the last I heard of Diana or anyone else at this company. I did receive a couple of calls assuring me they were working a couple of expos and my timeshare was being pushed, but when the six months were up there was no more contact. When I was fortunate enough to get an answer they told me they had tried to call me several times which could not be true because they had a home number, cell and work number. This has been a very huge learning experience. My question is :Is there anyone out there who can help us sell this thing without fleecing us for more money? Why are timeshares not like any other real estate that the agent gets paid when they actually do something to earn it.

In November of 2010, I was contacted by Resorts Rescued and got a big sales pitch about how they could sell it, and the upfront fee was for sales presentations like the one I had been to when I bought it. It has been over seven months and no bites. All they have done is place a dinky add on their website that nobody will see, and kept the $900 ripoff fee. They are a bunch of crooks. Anyone requesting an upfront fee has got to be a crook. I reported them to the CT Attorney General's Office, but do not know if it will do any good.

I contracted the services of Resorts Rescued to sell my timeshares with the understanding from their agent, Diana **, that if no buyers were provided during the first six months, I could request my $500 back. This was a new option the company was offering which was the deciding factor in my decision to sign on. I signed on in May 2010. In Nov. 2010, I informed the company that I wanted to exercise the option to regain my $500. Diana will not return my calls and Jeff **, the customer service director, refuses to honor the option, saying it was not in the contract. I told him the way the contract reads, they would never have to honor the option because they could show ads etc. to prove they have been working. But that is the only way they can provide a buyer. That is the risk they take to provide a buyer in six months and they did not provide a buyer. So, Diana's instructions were, "No buyer in six months, you may request your money back or leave the contract in force as long as you like, at no additional charge." I appreciate your help.
