Regina Tours

Avelina of Kearny, NJ writes (2/3/02):
I was to travel for a Pilgrimage on Oct 15-24, 2001 and had paid the full amount of $2,108.00 payable to Asian Pacific Travel/Regina Tours on August 3, 2001. Before the trip, after the WTC tragedy, I faxed my cancellation on the advice of Mr Buddy D from Asian Pacific Travel after telling him that I was cancelling my trip.

After repeated calls and attempts to get my refund back from Asian Pacific Travel and Regina Tours, I did not get any refund after their promises to me. It has been a few months now, no written letter for the delay or receipt of my full payment of $2,108.00.

The aggravation this had cause me is too much. The money I have paid Regina Tours/ through Asian Pacific Travel was a loan taken from my Home Equity Loan, still paying for the interest monthly. I am a single working divorce woman who does not need this problem.

Avelina needs to very carefully read whatever documents she was given when she paid the $2,108. There should be explicit provisions regarding cancellations. If she is eligible for a refund, she must follow the procedures outlined in the agreement. She should consult a local consumer protection agency for assistance.
