Michael of Spokane WA (02/05/09) I was referred to the website OneTravel to book flights to Mexico for three people and to Las Vegas for two people. The Las Vegas flight is scheduled for March and the Mexico flights in April. I rec'd confirmation on both packages, but later this morning, I rec'd an email message that the Mexico trip had not gone through because the credit card was declined. I called my card company and they indicated that they approved the first leg of the trip but had put a hold on the second half because of the foreign language that was used on the second part. After clearing that up, I gave the card company the OK the charge.
I then called OneTravel back and was told that the price of the ticket had increased by 147. I wasn't happy about it but reluctantly agreed to increased charge. I was told that I would receive a confirmation phone call within 2 hours (this was at 9AM). No call was rec'd. The same day, I called at 6pm PST and asked what had happened to my confirmation. The young man I spoke with apologized profusely and assured me that HE would call me back with the confirmation within the hour. NO CALL. I'm sure that my calls are routed through India because each representative speaks with a heavy accent and is very hard to understand. This time the young man (whose name I never did understand) assured me that an email confirmation message would be sent tomorrow morning.
We're still in limbo about our family vacation in April and we shelled out 147 more for the same tickets that started out at 285 per person and then jumped to 513 when we hit the book button.
Dwight of Sudbury, ON January 22, 2009
Dwight of Sudbury ON (01/22/09) i purchased a flight for my wife at a price of 1527.22 from fort mcmurray alberta to sudbury ontario on deec. 1. flight was paid for wife arrived without her bags which contained medication. payed out extra 350.00 bags arrived four days later. now [they're] trying to bill me an extra 400.00 or more for a flight sold me and has already taken place. Do [they] really think we would have paid over two thousand dollars to stay in the cold, when we could have spent two weeks in costa rica or mexico or cuba all inclusive for that price.
450.00 exta charge and will never open [their] website again and b sure i will pass on the news
Kathy of Loxahatchee, FL December 29, 2008
Kathy of Loxahatchee FL (12/29/08) On 8/23/2008 my daughter booked a flight from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl to LA NON-STOP during christmas break with Spirit. When we arrived (the airport is over an hour away) to check in we were told that flight left at 4:00pm not 8:20pm as stated on the e-ticket and she had missed it. Also, it was not a NON-STOP flight, there was a 4 hour lay-over in detroit of all places. There was never a non-stop flight to LA. The only reason i was letting her fly to LA was because of the non-stop flight.
Spirit was willing to book her on their flight the next day but she had to get there at 1:00om on MONDAY. There was no way i could get her there, I work. We called OneTravel and were told they have no way of knowing there was a last minute change. Last minute change? There was NEVER a flight like that! Now, after reading this site, I'm wondering what extra charges they are going to charge us for this change in flight. BTW the bording pass is 30 bucks cheaper than OneTravel charged us.
loss wages 100, gas, road tolls and parking 20 bucks. Untold charges yet to be found on credit card. Don't use OneTravel EVER!
Leanne of Medicine Hat, OTHER November 8, 2008
Leanne of Medicine Hat OTHER (11/08/08) I recently purchase and was confirmed for airline tickets purchased through this website. I purchased these tickets for over the Christmas season because the ticket prices were increasing almost daily.
Several days after being confirmed for these flights I received a phone call from an agent for this company. I was informed that I was not going to be given the airline tickets for the price which they were originally sold to me. They would, of course, sell me tickets for a higher price, even though I have a receipt saying that I have already purchased these tickets. I can easily forward this information to anyone who would require it.
I am now forced to purchase these same airline tickets at close to 100% increase over the original price which I paid for them. In the time that has passed these tickets have gone up significantly and my only option option is to go through another avenue and pay the substantially higher prices for the same tickets.
Papa of London, OTHER October 15, 2008
Papa of London OTHER (10/15/08) I just want to know what sort of action has been or yet to be taken against Onetravel by the relevant authorities for these unprofessional conducts of business apart from just publishing these complaints.
If these allegations are true, then I can't believe Onetravel is still in operation and airlines continue to deal with them.
