The resort is extremely run down. The smell of mold and mildew are rampant the moment you walk through the doors. They charged us $149 per person for one night, but the facilities were completely in disrepair. The only reason we stayed there was because we were attending a big family reunion, but I would have left the moment we walked in and canceled my reservations under any other circumstances. I am honestly amazed that this place is in business and they are charging money for people to stay there. I can't believe that this place has ever been inspected by the health department and passed. There were ceiling tiles falling in almost every lobby area, and especially in the dining hall. There was wall paper peeling off the walls, doors falling off of their hinges, rugs and furniture were damp with mold and mildew. Several lights didn't have light bulbs or weren't working at all. There was no hot water the first night or morning we were there.

The "amenities" were useless. Most of the playground equipment was dangerous and unusable, the pools were filthy, the tennis and basketball courts had grass growing in them, and only two tennis courts had nets. None of the basketball hoops had nets. Our room had plaster peeling off the ceiling, rust around the air conditioner and mold and mildew visible in the bathroom, with water stains and peeling wall paper running up the wall from the floor. The food, at best, was mediocre and typically barely edible. We had to order pizza and pick up food so we had enough to eat during our stay.

My 14-month old daughter, who has Down syndrome, developed a raspy voice and a bad cough only hours after we arrived. I did not realize how bad the mold and mildew was and that this was the cause of her symptoms until I learned that other families had to check out and cancel their reservations because of the problem. Had I known I never would have let my family stay there. We have stayed in many hotels and she has never had any problems like this. She will be seeing a doctor for her symptoms if they do not clear up in the next day or two now that she's home.

I voiced my complaints to the front desk, but was told the general manager wasn't in until the following Monday and that she would call me. I called after not hearing from her, and her response was that the people who organized this event saw the facilities and agreed to the condition of the hotel. However, there is no way I would have spent over $800 to stay at this place only to expose my family to the health and safety dangers that we experienced if I had personally known what the facilities were like! She vehemently defended the condition of the facility and tried to downplay the issues. The only reason why I stayed was because our entire family, almost 100 people, was in attendance that weekend. The manager told me she would go up and check my room and call me right back. I waited several hours for her call, and finally tried calling her back, only to be told she had left for the day. I plan on disputing the credit card charges if we are not compensated adequately, and plan to take further action if my daughter's symptoms do not improve quickly.
