Greyhound Fare Disputes

Larry of Memphis (9/4/04):
I had to make a trip. Instead of flying, I chose Greyhound. At the bus station in downtown Memphis, I arrived at 10:30. The ticket agent asked me where I was going, and I told her that I wanted a round trip ticket on an express bus to Chicago, Illinois. She booked a ticket for me on a bus that went through St. Louis on its way to Chicago.

I told her I didn't want to go to St. Louis, but she rudely informed me that I would have to pay a $17.85 cancellation fee if I took another route. I paid the fee, but as a result I ended up paying $76 for a one-way ticket to Chicago. I feel this price is excessive and that I was not treated fairly by the ticket agent.
