To say that Carnival gets more than its share of complaints would be quite an understatement. We get more complaints about Carnival than about all other crise lines combined. We'd recommend reading this section carefully before you put down big bucks -- not after.

Here are just a few of the more recent complaints ...

I would like to express my first criuse with my twins of 6 years old. We cruised out of Ft Lauderdale on the Carnival Liberty on our 1st eastern Carribean cruise of 8 days during spring break of April 2007. Let me begin by saying my wife and I have criuse on carnival before. What I noticed in comparison was the servixe was great, ship staff were constantly cleaning always, the food was good and the kids camp was fantastic. My kids did not want to leave the ship for any excursions. Great job Carnival, this is the story I tell when people ask me.

Now the only negative of the cruise was our brief stay at Atlantis in the bahamas. It took us 1 and half hour to get to Atlantis when was to me only about 3 miles away.At a 125.00 per person (500.00 family of 4)now we only had 3 and half hours to enjoy the 10 slides and get bak on board. The problem all slides were down to to an electrical problem. Overall I would do it all over again, and again.

A group of six of us went on the Valor February 17, 2008. Our rooms were not clean but that was the least of our problems. On using the Sail & Sign card in the casino we were over charged on numerous times. The way it happened was you would insert your card for money to be downloaded to the slot machine. The slot machine would indicate the funds were credited to the slot machine and added to your account but the credits would not be deposited to the machine. When leaving the machine I would credit the money I had won back onto my Sail & Sign card.

After getting home my credit card company called to say the cruise lines were still adding charges after we had left the ship. Citicard said they would not pay the bill until I had contacted Carnavial to solve the problem. I called Carvavial and told them I needed a copy of all of the receipts I had signed and that I also would like to have a printout of the money I had spent in the casino showing the dates and exact time of any transactions at the slot machines. The customer service rep indicated he would mail receipts and transcript immediately. After 3 months I got a statement summarizing all expenses. Citicard added all of the pending expenses back onto my credit card balance.

I just got off of the phone with Carnavial again asking for the printout. The customer service rep said their policy is that once you are off of the ship there is nothing they can do. Right now I am out of about 2000.00 and I find I have not recourse. I have been on 18 cruises and there are a lot of good cruise lines but carvavial is not one of them. I understand I am not the first person scammed by carnavial and seriously doubt I will be the last.

I have been on 10 Cruises with Carnival now and NEVER had a bad time with them until the last time. They put us in the back of the Ship, which was cool with us until we were awoke EVERY morning by pounding of metal. We went to the the front desk and told them the problem and they told us it would be taken care of. It was not! We complained again. This time they said they would find another Cabin for us. Well, it was the last day of the Cruise. What good would it do now? When I got home I Emailed Carnival about the problems that we had.i got no respose. I tried 3 more times before calling and letting them have it. They finally decided that they would give us a Ship board credit for our next cruise. I think they did the right thing. It just should have been handeld in a more timely fashion. They really don't like to respond to complaints!

Having read the complaints written about Carnival Cruise lines I would like to add a positive experience. My wife and I have just ended a 12 day Mediterranean cruise aboard the new Carnival Splendor and could not have asked for a better experience, the staff, quality of meals and overall organisation is a credit to them considering there were 3035 passengers we thought there would be delays and crowds of people pushing and shoving but instead everything went like a well oiled machine.

We had nice weather considering the time of year and the only disappointment for some passengers was not being able to get to Cannes due to high winds but we were all aware when we booked that this could be a problem. I suggest the fact that we were on a new ship made our cruise more enjoable as everything was in excellent order, we were told by the cruise director that Carnival are making a concerted effort to improve there service and image and as far as we are concerned we would sail with them again tomorrow.WELL DONE CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES

I wrote a letter after I got back from my cruise on the Carnival Destiny and no one has responded. It was the worst trip I have ever had on any cruise line. It was my second cruise with Carnival I was on the Miracle when it was new coming out of Baltimore. It was very nice but like I said it was new. My sister and I booked this cruise with other friends of ours and they were equally disappointed. we shared a room, the room was a mess, the dust ruffle on the mattress was dirty and had holes in them which should not have even been on the ship. Everywhere I went people were complaining about this ship, the food was (to say the least) the worst I have ever eaten in my life. When I saw the boat from the pier I said to my sister I hope that is not our boat and it was

I passed by the Royal Carribean ships and they were really nice looking but this Destiny needs to be put on dry dock and not put to sea anymore. I was hoping that at least someone would respond to my letter, give me some type of perk or something, but nobody has yet of this date, there are a lot of cruise lines and fun ships, but this is one that I will be telling all of my friends and family not to board.

I take a cruise every year but this ship left a very nasty taste in my mouth, and Carnival is a big cruise line but all the ships are not the same. They should be because all the money for the cruises are the same, I did not expect to see anything like this going anywhere except to be refurbrisehd. And I cant even get into what I ate on the boat most of the time it was chicken fingers and onion rings something I can get at home for a lot less than 870.00 which is what it cost me. I had to wait for the chicken fingers every day at 3:00 p.m. just so I could have something on my stomach. I also ate the pizza at 12:00 at night it was good but I can get pizza at home.

My sister was diabetic so she needed a refrigerator for her insulin when it finally came - it did not work it was as old as the boat I was on. This is my information for the boat (I keep saying boat because it is not worthy of the word SHIP) or CRUISE LINE -
