I called to see if I could book some rooms for the Christmas holiday. I told him that we had a gift certificate that said expired 2006 but I know in CA there can be no expiration dates because the card was paid for (approx.$375) and was unused. It would have paid for 2 nights.He said he would not honor it. He told me to call my attorney. I said it is the law and he said he does not care. He doesn't honor that. But I said it was the law and I would fax him the copy of the law that applies. He said to get my attorney.

I don't want to sue anyone I just wanted to use the card. This would have been 3 nights and two additional rooms that I would have gladly paid for. He does not have a cancellation policy and refund policy. Is that legal? Is there something I can do with this gift card? I don't think I would be interested in going to his establishment now as he was very rude. At least can he be investigated and fined?

Now I am going somewhere else to book my reservations and am losing the $375 that could have been applied to renting at least one room in his establishment. I would have had to rent 2 more rooms which would have given him income and a satisfied customer. Thanks for listening to my problem. Seems like there are other laws he is not following.
